Have We Forgotten the Declaration of Independence?

As our own modern government blows by the milestones on the road toward absolutism, the specific examples of the abuses of power cited in the Declaration of Independence may prove prophetic and may help to enlighten 21st-century Americans.

July 2, 1776. Delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies represented in the Second Continental Congress voted to formally “dissolve the political bands” that bound them to Great Britain.

Just 24 hours before that historic vote, the severing of those ties was in doubt.

On Monday, July 1, Congress resolved itself into a committee of the whole to continue debating the resolution for independence proposed nearly a month before by Virginia representative Richard Henry Lee.

John Dickinson of Pennsylvania rose and spoke eloquently  although ultimately not persuasively — in favor of pursuing peaceful attempts to reconcile with the crown.

John Adams spoke next. Refuting Dickinson’s call for calm, he reminded his colleagues of the convincing case for an unqualified declaration of independence.

When the speeches ended, delegates cast their votes — each colony cast one vote, regardless of the number of delegates present at the proceeding. Pennsylvania’s representatives were specifically instructed to oppose any call for separation from England and they voted accordingly. South Carolina joined Pennsylvania, voting no on the Lee resolutions.

The question is have we forgotten the Declaration. If you are like me you never learned enough in school about the Declaration to have ever known it-I'm 56. Below(attached) is a one page  document that was over 20 years in development that identifies six core precepts from the Declaration that every generation must not only learn to maintain but pass on. It has been my exsperiance that the content of this codification of core precepts of our founding documents are so foriegn to some of the most ardent Patriots that we can't claim in chrous a vision of who we are-It's as if there is a cursing on us to Unite around a succint ideological/cultural exspression of what America is.

Although we have these powerful tools of communicating at our finger tips, effective communicating seems to be illusive. This is not the first time I have posted the Constitutional Ensign on this site-I have done it several times and few here unfortunatly seem to connect. We are on the eve of the Independence Day- I have not been able to find any Patriot groups that are planning a round table discussion on the Declaration/the signers and venerating on its precepts and likening it to our own circumstances-Have you? I welcome You're feedback. My cell is 662 574 1621

I just dialed your number, but got your answering machine. Anyway, you are right about the general public, and a large part of the Tea Party, being unaware of our Declaration of Independence. Never fear though! Russ to the rescue! Really, I have somehow been handed a huge opportunity to to stand up for We the People's Bill of Rights, which codified the Natural Rights of men in order to prevent the abuses of King George as recorded in the list of grievances found in our Declaration of Independence. I was fined $1500.00 by the state of Washington for hanging a flyer offering my maintenance and repair skills on a private bulletin board in Yokes Fresh Market. I have a great blog which documents my defense and which contains all the ridiculous correspondence from misguided and ignorant government employees. This blog really needs to go viral so that people can know how to stand up to out of control government employees. I have finally got out of the bureaucratic meat grinder and I am now in the Superior Court of the State of Washington in Spokane County. Please check out my latest updates on the blog. I am sure you will be refreshed to read them.  And the whole blog is pretty entertaining as I tend to write with humor and sarcasm. I am also amused and curious how the government employees will get themselves out of the corner that they have painted themselves into. Oral Arguments before the judge are coming up on July 19, and I hope to have a few observers in the court with me. Meanwhile, I am trying to get my blog to go viral, especially within the Tea Party, who can appreciate our founding documents. Check it out:

There are plentiful posters here who like myself and you are drawn to the powerful words drafted within the Declaration of Independence and to the similarities between that time and today.  The words "When In the course of human events..." make this document contemporary in its value.  The matter that I raised concerning the DoI is this - I hope you might be helpful in clarification:  Is the Declaration of Independence a Preamble to the Constitution?  If so, then the "long train of abuses and usurpation's by Obscumbo are absolutely akin to King George's despotic conducts.

"If you are like me you never learned enough in school about the Declaration to have ever known it-I'm 56."

I've 20 years on you, (76) and I learned NOTHING of it in school, other than it exists.  It is a secret kept almost as closely as the Constitution.  If we had been taught about them, we likely would NOT be in the situation we find ourselves in.

If we manage to get OUT of the current situation, we MUST INSIST that at least both of these documents be taught, beginning in elementary school, and continuing into High School, and College.  Learning the preambles as punnishment is NOT studying or learning about the bodys of the Documents.

Learning what a nasty SOB King George III was, and why, might prepare Youngsters to actually think aboiut those they 'vote' for.  Age 9 is not too early for in depth study of these documents.  You do a little at a time.  A Nine-Year-Old is remarkably bright.  He/she might not be particularly interested, but a little at a time.  They may not ENJOY it, but they WILL remember.  And associate it with little bits and hunks of daily life.

Neither, the Declaration or the Constitution are so abstract as to be hard to make sense of.  They were written by folks who were living in the 'present', and needed to extend their words to the educated and the un-educated.  The Farmer, the Storekeeper, the Blacksmith, the Lawyer as well as the King Of England.

It should be of no surprise to anyone that our nation's students are not being taught The US Constitution, it's amendments, and the meaning and value of our history. The twisted, misguided "correctness", and biased teaching in our schools will remain the same until we get the left and the Federal government out of our education system. Throwing more cash into education is the favorite plea for quality in teaching, and is pure hogwash..the more we spend, and the more left we install, the farther back we go.

Someone sent me a copy of the Declaration of Independance. As I read it, I saw us, our generation in America today! Read it and see what you see.

WE have not forgotten our Declaration but many have.  Instead of following the basics of it and tweeking it for the GOOD of the people our govt. employee's tht. taxpayers hve. and do PAY use it against us to take control and our hard earned money, they do not care one bit about US, they care about their pockets and fame.  If WE would take to the "square" which I guess would be the streets in front of the white house (someone needs to set up where our Terrair square would be) I am not sure of what would happen, I should be sure tht. we would be safe but I am not.  We r fast becoming a third world nation and our rights out the window.

Sorry, this whole several pages of stuff, while promising in its text, merely takes space.  No pix, many quote lines (6 at least) and lots of margin jamming.  Might just be AOL, or it might be a problem.

The repeat (below) is just the same!

Its a sad day in America when a lot of people don't even know what the Constitution is about and what it holds for the people of America.. Some of the younger generation don't even know why or what the 4th of July is all about..  America needs to get back to its grass roots that made America great.. Are so called leaders in the WH aren't going to do anything but take America down and their working hard at that.. Angry Dem Impeachment ‘Witness’: Pam Karlan Donated Thousands To Hillary And Was On Clinton’s List For Potential SCOTUS Nomination

Image result for Pam Karlan

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jerrold Nadler, kicked off its first impeachment circus Wednesday morning.

The four ‘witnesses’ testifying have never actually witnessed any of Trump’s dealings with Ukraine firsthand — the four witnesses are law professors offering legal analysis.

One of the witnesses the Dems rolled out is an angry Hillary Clinton donor who was on Crooked’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination.

No wonder why this unhinged, dowdy woman is so pissed off!

“Professor Pam Karlan donated thousands of dollars to Democrats and was on Hillary Clinton’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination. So she certainly has no vendetta against President Trump,” GOP Rep. Mark Walker said.

Congressman Walker also pointed out that Noah Feldman, the Dems first partisan witness in Wednesday’s hearing tweeted about impeaching Trump right after he was sworn in.

Meet Noah Feldman, House Democrats first partisan witness.

Look at the date of this tweet. He has been trying to get @realDonaldTrump impeached since 46 days into his presidency.

His reason? Trump criticized President Obama.

This is a sham impeachment with sham witnesses. https://twitter.com/NoahRFeldman/status/839185127494254592

The next witness, Karlan, has donated thousands to Democrats and was on Hillary Clinton’s list for a potential Supreme Court nomination.

So she certainly has no vendetta against @realDonaldTrump.

These witnesses are as serious as House Democrats impeachment case: not at all.

The entire sham show trial is stacked with partisan hacks who have wanted to impeach Trump from the moment he won in November of 2016.

Norm Eisen, the Democrats’ counsel who is blasting Trump and questioning witnesses in Wednesday’s show trial, tweeted about impeaching Trump before Donald Trump was even sworn into office!
