A grand jury indicted Governor Rick Perry Friday for his attempts to remove Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg from office after she was arrested for driving while intoxicated last year in a case that made national headlines.

In April 2013, Lehmberg was arrested after a witness called 911, describing her as driving erratically, swerving back and forth into the bike lane, and into oncoming traffic. Officers at the scene reportedly found an open bottle of vodka in her car, and a blood sample obtained later that evening purportedly showed a blood alcohol level of 0.239—almost three times the legal limit—even that many hours later.

Not only did her arrest attracted headlines, but her belligerent behavior after she was brought to the police station—all captured on video tape—drew attention, as well. Lehmberg is seen blaming the police for destroying her political career, yelling and insulting them; demanding that they call Travis County Sheriff Greg Hamilton; sticking out her tongue; making faces; kicking at the door to her cell; and eventually getting restrained with leg irons, being strapped to a chair and wearing what is commonly referred to as a “spit mask,” which is usually used when a detainee is spitting or biting. To be fair, the video does not expressly show that happening, and Lehmberg’s defense attorney later claimed that the mask was used to “protect her identity.”

She has the same credibility as obozo - NONE.  Disbarment for abuse of power is in order.

Well, considering Ted Kennedy spent most of career in constantly gin soaked state, this lady is a light weight! Yes, how dare Rick Perry try to remove an unfit, alcoholic from public office? Who does he think he is? The GOVERNOR of the state or something? Oh, wait ...

Typical democrat blame someone else for their behavior. She was ridiculous with her behavior so let's ruin Rick Perry's reputation and career. I hope the people of Texas stand up for him. Evidently he is liked to have been Governor for so long. The dems are afraid he may become more popular because of his taking control of his state when the government won't. Maybe it will cause the people to turn on them. This is what should be happening to most in D. C. and they know it. Criminals.

Perry has done some bad things but firing this drunk isn't one of them.

I AGRE AND TELL HE TO CLIMB BACK INTO HE BOTTLE

THr ELITES a ARE USING HER TO GET RID OF PERRY BEFORE 2016. THEY WANT JEB BUSH VERY BADLY FOR PRESIDENT . THEY ARE STARTING THEIR NASTY POLITICS ALREADY . PERRY ISNT GUILTY OF ANYTHING , BUT HIS REPUTATION IS BEING SOILED .

AND RINOs!

You get rid of RINOs & you are left with extreemists on both sides....You & I will end up with , God forbid , Elizabeth Warren , a super liberal as President. I know how liberal she bacause she is my so called jr. senator. Senator Paul said he could work with RINOS because even though are "squishy Rep.'s" they are still Republicans. Get enough Republicans we can "fire" Harry Reid....Think about it!

Hey, not to worry! Perry did us all (Americans) a favor. Democrats are going to do what they always do. Stand up for the blame America/ans first...and protect the anti-Americans for all their miscreant behavior. Been getting away with it since LBJ. I say, let em go.....then....and only then....we will end up in the streets and take care of bidness, for AMERICA.....done it before, will do it again....and be done with it. They are obviously wrong...only "americans" that don't understand this ... are them, Leftist, Liberal, Marxist....Jihadist....anti-American Democrats.

The headlines really didn't make any sense. This blog clarifies a lot of the background information. From what I have garnered, Gov. Perry is within his rights to demand sobriety from elected officials.

SICK: Leprosy On The Rise In Los Angeles

Ahh, the joys of open borders and Democrat leadership.

California is not just a public toilet but now there is evidence that leprosy is on the rise in Los Angeles County.

Barack Obama changed US law in 2016 and allowed immigrants with blistering STDs and leprosy to migrate to the US.

Medscape reported:

Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease, is rarely seen in the United States, but cases continue to emerge in Los Angeles County, a new report says.

“Hansen’s disease still exists, and we need to educate medical students and physicians,” coauthor Dr. Maria Teresa Ochoa from Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, told Reuters Health by email.

Dr. Ochoa and colleagues identified 187 patients with the disease in a review of medical records from their leprosy clinic spanning 1973 to 2018. Most patients were Latino, originating from Mexico, and they experienced a median delay in diagnosis of more than three years, the team reports JAMA Dermatology, online August 7.

Multibacillary leprosy (MB) cases outnumbered paucibacillary leprosy (PB) cases by nearly eight to one (88.6% vs. 11.4%, respectively), and Latino patients were more likely than non-Latino patients to have MB, as were patients from Central or South America (versus other regions).

Most patients (80.7%) received multidrug therapy, and most (92.6%) received antibiotics for more than two years, especially if they had MB.

Only about half of patients (56.7%) had World Health Organization (WHO) grade 0 disability (no signs or symptoms suggestive of leprosy or disability) at the one-year follow-up, whereas 16.0% had grade 1 disability (loss of protective sensation) and 26.2% had grade 2 disability (visible deformity) at the last follow-up.

Among the patients who lost protective sensation, 87.7% (50/57) did not regain it following therapy.
