The Border Crisis Is Getting Worse
Why Are Democrats AWOL?

dailysignal.com } ~ America is facing an unprecedented surge in illegal immigration, but it seems House Democrats would rather block every proposed solution than act to fix the border. It’s time for them to do their jobs... Our southern border is facing a massive wave of immigration, mostly comprised of migrants from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras seeking asylum in the United States. Yet Washington has refused for months to act in a sufficient way to help our law enforcement or provide reforms to the asylum process. Contrary to Democratic claims of a “manufactured crisis,” the current wave of migration is unprecedented. Our law enforcement agents at the border made 132,887 border apprehensions in May 2019—330% higher than the same month in 2018, and 915% higher than in 2017. We are on track for 1 million border apprehensions this year. That would be the largest year-over-year increase of illegal immigration in our nation’s history. The alarm is sounding across the country. A Customs and Border Protection official recently stated: “When we have 4,000 people in custody, we consider that high. When we have 6,000, we consider it a crisis. Right now, we have 19,000 people in custody. It’s just off the charts.” Former Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson admitted we were in a crisis nearly three months ago. Even the liberal New York Times editorial board called for an emergency border funding package. So why haven’t Democratic leaders acknowledged the emergency, even when four-fifths of Americans say the border is a crisis or serious problem? It seems lawmakers on the left don’t feel an urgent need to help our hard-working law enforcement, keep our border secure, or provide humanitarian aid for immigrants caught in the morass at our border. Early reports now indicate that a congressional deal for the White House’s $4.5 billion humanitarian request could be found within the week... These dems need to removed from office.

{foxnews.com} ~ Stephanie Grisham, a top aide to first lady Melania Trump, has been picked to replace Sarah Sanders as White House press secretary... the first lady announced Tuesday. Grisham, who developed a reputation as a fierce defender of the first lady during her tenure as spokeswoman, will also become the White House communications director. “I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director!” the first lady tweeted. “She has been with us since 2015 - @potus & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse.” During a recent “Fox & Friends” interview, President Trump said “a lot of people” were angling for the gig. Asked about the possibility of choosing Grisham, the president said, “Stephanie is terrific.”Sanders announced her plans to step down as White House press secretary earlier this month. On Tuesday, Sanders tweeted that Grisham "will be an incredible asset to the president and the country." Grisham joined the Trump campaign in 2015. "I’m sad to leave the WH, but so happy to leave our team in such great hands," Sanders said. "Stephanie will do a phenomenal job. Proud to have another mom and a great friend in this role."...
Will Trump Rescue China's Communism?

gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ Three times — in 1972, 1989, and 1999 — American presidents rescued Chinese communism. Now, Xi Jinping's China, plagued by problems of his own making... desperately needs a lifeline. A trade deal with President Donald Trump looks as if it is the only thing that can revive the Chinese economy and thereby save Xi's brand of communism. Many, in fact, are urging Trump to drop his Section 301 tariffs and sign such a pact. Will the American president do so? At the moment, Xi is besieged, blamed for multiple policy mistakes. First, his relentlessly pursued back-to-Mao policies have helped push the Chinese economy downward, perhaps to the point of contraction, as May's depressing numbers suggest. Perhaps the most indicative statistic is that of imports, which during the month fell 8.5%, a clear sign of softening domestic demand. Economists say consumption now drives the Chinese economy. Retail sales for the month, according to Beijing, increased a strong 8.6%. That figure is suspiciously high because it is based on this figure: retail sales of cars rising 2.1% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Commerce. However. the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers reported that car sales suffered their worst monthly drop ever in May, down a stunning 16.4% from the same month a year earlier, the 11th-straight month of decline. There are other symptoms of distress. In a country where the money supply is far too large for the size of the economy, banks are running low on cash for lending. China's stock market regulators, in a highly unusual maneuver, are now urging brokerages to extend loans to keep companies afloat. Most worrying, there is evidence of persistent capital flight, which seems to be picking up in recent months. Second, this economic downturn is occurring as relations with the United States are deteriorating across-the-board. Xi is being blamed for pushing Trump to start the "trade war." More important, Xi's generally belligerent policies are thought to be responsible for China "losing America."...

U.S. school lets Muslims interrupt
classes to 'convert' students

By wnd.com:  A U.S. school that allowed Muslim students to interrupt classes to “convert” students to Islam now faces a grilling from a constitutional legal team... As part of its Project for Constitutional Rights in Education, the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund monitors school districts to ensure that officials are educated about the “threat of Islamic indoctrination and religiously preferential ‘anti-Islamophobia’ bullying programs.” FCDF said it sent the West New York School District in New Jersey a public records request to see documents “that could show whether the district is unlawfully promoting religion.” The concern centered on a decision to hang a large banner at the school “beseeching ‘Allah’ to ‘shower’ students with ‘love and wisdom.'” FCDF said it also is seeking documents related to two Muslim students who were given permission to interrupt classes during the school day to convert students to Islam “under the guise of teaching them about Ramadan,” the group said.It was the same school that drew a “cease and desist” letter from FCDF only a few weeks ago regarding the banner. “The district removed the poster but left intact massive bulletin boards designed by Muslim students to teach students about Ramadan,” the organization said. The school bulletin boards send students to a website run by the North Hudson Islamic Educational Center’s “Dawah Committee,” which explains its mission is to convert public school students to Islam. On the website, the committee praised the two Muslim students involved “for their outstanding dawah educational awareness in the public schools. We pray that other students and parents will follow suit in the near future. May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala reward them manifold.” “FCDF will not tolerate this intentional effort to propagandize to schoolchildren. We will continue to warn all school districts to reconsider any policy or action that tramples on our children’s constitutional rights.”...
Traitor scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters
Just Publicly Sided with Iran

westernjournal.com } ~ Rep. scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters has gone from treating Trump supporters like the enemy to taking a real enemy’s side... The California Democrat has previously been best known for incessantly chanting “impeachment” when it comes to President Donald Trump and urging her supporters to confront Trump’s officials wherever possible. But in a Twitter post Sunday night, she openly took the side of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its dispute with the United States, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas didn’t let her get away with it. scumbag/mad-Waters was commenting on last week’s downing of an American military drone by Iranian forces. Iran maintains the drone was in its airspace when it was shot down. American military officials and the Trump administration say the drone was in international airspace. Naturally, we know who scumbag/mad-Waters is going to believe. ”Trump, you get no credit for so-called stopping the strike against Iran,” she wrote. “Why was the unmanned drone in Iran’s airspace? Why the surveillance? Don’t provoke and then pretend innocence.”It’s worth noting that scumbag/mad-Waters didn’t say how or why she believes Tehran’s version of the story. It’s a good chance she doesn’t know herself — beyond her Pavlovian distaste for anything to do with the current commander in chief. The fact that such a woman actually chairs the House Financial Services Committee is a sad indication of just how low the Democratic Party has dragged itself during the Trump years...

Trump: Make Medical Costs Transparent

Nate Jackson:  For the last several decades, insurance companies and hospitals have colluded to make the cost of health care as opaque as possible. Have you ever tried to ask a provider — even the person who works the billing desk — how much a service will cost before obtaining that service? The response ranges from being politely told to wait for the insurance filing to personal offense for having the temerity to ask such a question.

And then there’s finding out after filing an insurance claim that the service would have been significantly cheaper without insurance if you’d only known to ask for the cash price. (True story for this author.)

Economist Stephen Moore observes, “Health care is one of the most expensive items we buy each year, and yet most Americans haven’t a clue what all of this costs.” Even worse, as our Louis DeBroux noted last week, “Pricing [can be] significantly higher for the same service depending on the insurer, group plan, geographical location, etc.” When patients can’t see that pricing, they have no idea when they’re being fleeced.

President Donald Trump took a step to address this huge problem with an executive order he signed Monday. The order — which won’t take effect until after a period of public comment and rule finalization — will require hospitals to clearly disclose the cost of care for both the insurer and the patient. “This is a truly big action,” Trump said. “Some people say bigger than health care itself.” He added, “No Americans should be blindsided by bills they never agreed to.”

As is his wont, Trump is overselling his action a bit. As Moore put it, “This action by the White House treats symptoms — not the disease of third-party payers for health care.” Moreover, given that there are almost no specifics in the order, The New York Times is correct to note, “Hospitals and insurance companies are likely to lobby to make any disclosures as general as possible.”

Former Republican Rep. Ernest Istook, who now runs Americans for Less Regulation, argues that Trump’s order is the wrong prescription because “the infrastructure and paperwork to implement this will become a new Washington swamp.” Given the 1,000 health insurance companies nationwide and the millions of providers and pricing agreements, Istook says the resulting “nightmare of red tape could put scumbag/liar-nObamacare to shame.”

Concerns about the federal government “fixing” what it broke in the first place are valid. After all, scumbag/liar-nObamaCare merely forced everyone to participate in the broken system.

Yet we can only hope to fix a horribly broken health system by introducing free-market transparency — consumers of health services must know how much those service will cost. Choice and competition will better serve everyone, and, concerns notwithstanding, Trump’s order is a step in the right direction. Some regulation is necessary if consumers have no recourse but to be swindled by the colluding providers and insurers who offer outlandishly overpriced “care.”  ~The Patriot Post
