Ousted UK ambassador leaked US intelligence

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Leaked U.K. diplomatic cables critical of President Trump have led Britain’s ambassador, Sir Kim Darroch, to announce his departure from Washington earlier than expected... But the story is not yet concluded. According to one current and one former U.S. government official speaking on the condition of anonymity, Darroch repeatedly leaked classified U.S. intelligence information, including highly classified information, to a journalist for a U.S.-based media outlet. The sources are confirmed by the reaction my related inquiries have received from other government officials. These leaks are unrelated to the diplomatic cables which sparked Trump's anger and Darroch's departure. Still, one source says that the U.S. government was so alarmed by Darroch's leaks that it launched an official investigation to find the source of the information. That source described the leaked intelligence as “very sensitive,” and suggested that exigent U.S. security concerns motivated the investigation. That source says that non-U.S. government derived records showed the ambassador and journalist exchanging messages on a continuing basis. The source emphasized that these communications were not derived from U.S. government actions. A second source, a career government official, described the leaks as "unprecedented." The Washington Examiner has been unable to confirm how long any investigation continued or whether it has since been suspended. But concern inside the U.S. government over the leaks was significant. One of the sources said that the ambassador repeatedly transmitted highly classified U.S. originator-control intelligence information to the journalist. ORCON intelligence, as it's called in the intelligence world, is closely held and carefully distributed. At least some of this information was classified at the "Five Eyes" alliance classification level, meaning it was distributed by the U.S. only to Australia, Britain, Canada, and New Zealand. Some intelligence may also have been classified at the U.S.-U.K. only level. Such intelligence is transmitted only on the condition of established protocols and the assumption it will be closely held. The implications here are thus significant for two reasons...

To Get Ukrainian Dirt On Trump In 2016

{ thefederalist.com } ~ The chairmen of two Senate committees are insisting that the Department of Justice come clean about Democratic Party efforts to solicit Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election... Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, first alerted the department about the meddling in July of 2017 so it could be investigated, but under Rod Rosenstein’s leadership and the direction of special counsel Robert Mueller, the inquiries of the then-Senate Judiciary chairman were ignored. In a Sept. 27 letter, Grassley and Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., demand the Justice Department look into the “brazen efforts by the Democratic National Committee and scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton campaign to use the government of Ukraine for the express purpose of finding negative information on then-candidate Trump in order to undermine his campaign.”The senators also want to know why Alexandra Chalupa, the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants and longtime Democratic operative, has not been required to file paperwork as a registered foreign agent of Ukraine. “Aside from the apparent evidence of collusion between the DNC, scumbag/liar-Clinton campaign, and Ukrainian government, Chalupa’s actions implicate the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA),” Grassley wrote in 2017. “Chalupa’s actions appear to show that she was simultaneously working on behalf of a foreign government, Ukraine, and on behalf of the DNC and scumbag/liar-Clinton campaign, in an effort to influence not only the U.S voting population but U.S. government officials.” In their letter sent this week, Grassley and Johnson ask why DOJ still has not required her to register as a foreign agent of Ukraine. The attacks against Trump for a phone call with the Ukrainian president come on the heels of the implosion of the Russia collusion narrative, in which special counsel Robert Mueller declared there was no evidence of collusion. Insiders expect revelations about how that false narrative was spread by and to Democratic officials in the executive and legislative branches and the media. The Department of Justice inspector general is expected to release a wide-ranging report on his investigation of surveillance abuses perpetrated in the service of that false narrative in the coming weeks. Additionally, John Durham, a federal prosecutor, is spearheading his own investigation into the origins of the hoax that affected the 2016 campaign and the Trump administration. Last week, the Justice Department confirmed that Durham is investigating the Ukrainian government’s involvement in attempts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election. In his call with the Ukrainian president, Trump asked for his cooperation with that probe. Democrats and the media have falsely accused the president of tying military aide to investigation of loose lips liar-Joe Biden and his son Hunter. However, a transcript of the phone call that was released last week showed there was no connection between the two matters. "Turkey turns a blind eye to Hamas's covert operational and financial activity being carried out from its territory which has recently been demonstrated in the American sanctions and regularly denies its existence," the Meir Amit center reported. "The latest American designations clearly demonstrate that Turkey continues to be used as a hub for Hamas's operational and financial activity, even after the departure of Saleh al-Arouri," the Meir Amit report said. Arouri, a founder of the Hamas military wing and a member of the Hamas political bureau, lived in Turkey until last year. During his time in Turkey, he helped plot Hamas terror attacks. He claimed credit on behalf of Hamas for the 2014 kidnapping and murder of three Israeli yeshiva students. Later that year, the Shin Bet "uncovered an extensive Hamas military network which operated in Judea and Samaria. Its operatives had planted IEDs in Samaria. They were handled by Hamas's headquarters in Turkey," the Meir Amit report said. "Hamas's military operatives who were trained abroad in various countries, including Turkey participated in this activity." For his part, Erdogan considers Hamas a "liberation movement" and denies that it is a terrorist group. The Educational Dysfunction We're Paying ForRobin Smith: According to a 2017 Pew Trust analysis, the U.S. Government “provided nearly $80 billion, excluding loans, to pursue higher education” to assist our college-bound students. The federal government provided over $27 billion to seven million low-income qualifiers in Pell Grants alone in the 2018-2019 school year, according to NerdWallet.com. Compared to other nations, the U.S. ranks #2 in per pupil spending in higher education spending, says a Forbes September 2018 review showing the U.S. average is over $27,000 per pupil.
Put simply, Americans pay a lot of money for their children to receive an education that will supposedly equip them for their future professions and careers.
So, when you see that the top theme assigned for summer reading by colleges during the summer of 2018 was racism and slavery, based on a study of 475 universities and colleges conducted by the National Association of Scholars, there are a few dots connected in seeing the failure of too many higher-education endeavors and the exploding prevalence of college-aged kids who are disgruntled and dysfunctional. What were the second and third most-often assigned topics for summer study? A couple of other subjects that stem from the race-tinged agenda of the educrats of academia: police and crime along with immigration, respectively. Almost 60% of the assigned books for reading in the lists offered stemmed from nonwhite people groups.
What’s wrong with diversity? Nothing. What’s wrong with the obsession and fixation on the differences that divide us with the sledgehammer of a growing population of activists hidden in the world of education constantly beating the wedge of race-baiting between our population? Everything.
The determination of some to literally split our nation into populations of colors, a growing list of gender categories, class warfare and any other factor that can possibly be used in the strategy of identify politics is truly staggering — and unhealthy. It’s time that we get value and actual education for our kids’ tuition, not indoctrination.
Americans, on the whole, are not racists. No, racism is not completely extinct in America, yet the prevailing thought being reinforced on higher-ed campuses, as well as throughout most of the politics of the Left, points to some raging pandemic of racism. The current culture is being treated as some cult of fearmongering to keep the combustible engine of politics ignited. Instead, America is witnessing the inferno of destruction of the Democrat Party. Race and the industry of race-baiting appears to be almost all that remains as tools on the Left.
Instead of choosing selections of reading that value the heroics of family, the dignity of personal achievement and excellence, or attempting to understand that everything from poverty to the increase of mental illness is tied to broken homes, these “institutions of higher learning” offered tomes with storylines sure to instill the social-justice narrative — must reading for the next generation of Black Lives Matters or antifa activists — highlighting the dreadful oppression of America that certainly is a rotten nation because some believe it’s great and offers the best way of life based on authentic Liberty. Let’s look at the five most frequently assigned readings in 2018, as noted in the study, Beach Books 2018-2019:
Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson — “a pedestrian memoir that argues that America’s criminal justice system is fundamentally corrupted by racism” with open recruitment of readers to become activists aiming to free criminals from jail.
Make Your Home Among Strangers by Jennine Capo Crucet — a novel tied to the international Elian Gonzalez story with the main character in her “first year at a white, wealthy Rawlings College” where her Cuban heritage is a focal point of the story.
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot — a nonfiction biography about a poor southern African-American woman whose cancer cells were used as the basis for cervical cancer research with the focus on medical ethics “specifically in relation to race and class,” so says the Sparknotes from the assignment that goes on to advocate for universal healthcare.
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates — penned as a letter to the author’s son, the writing explains to his son “the racist violence that has been woven into American culture” and was inspired by a meeting with former President Barack scumbag/liar-nObama.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas — a novel about a teenage girl, according to Sparknotes, that “grapples with racism, police brutality and activism.”
Americans are paying for this garbage to be taught as truth and reality with little or no room for challenge, criticism, or debate. Instead of our young adults being offered readings of inspiration, challenge, and empowerment to excel on campus, too many of our college students are being force-fed activism with censorship as the only response if there’s disagreement. Yeah, we’re paying for this … and not just with money.
