House Judiciary Committee doomed
for failure with impeachment inquiry

{ thehill.com } ~ Various commentators, on and off the House Judiciary Committee, have suggested that it will have a better chance of getting grand jury testimony in the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller... or testimony from White House counsel Don McGahn, if it styles itself as a preliminary impeachment inquiry. This is probably why Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler has finally begun to call the impending actions of the committee an impeachment investigation. But without an actual vote by the House to authorize an impeachment inquiry, this strategy seems certain to fail. Under normal circumstances, the committee would not be able to get either grand jury testimony or an opportunity to question McGahn. The law surrounding grand jury testimony is very restrictive, and the few cases in which it may be made available, always by order of a court, do not include investigations by congressional committees. Similarly, President Trump is certain to object to McGahn testifying on executive privilege grounds, which he has already asserted in other cases. But the committee seems to now be suggesting that its inquiry is a preliminary investigation that might lead to a resolution of impeachment by the House, and this raises the question whether a committee engaged in such an investigation has a stronger case to receive both grand jury testimony and testimony from White House counsel than it would when simply engaged in a normal oversight investigation. If so, this would clearly complicate the effort by Trump to deny the committee the testimony of his counsel and the effort by the Justice Department to prevent disclosure of grand jury information. Impeachment inquiries, thankfully, have been few and far between, but their very rarity and importance is an argument for suspending the usual rules about what a House committee might be entitled to. If this is what the committee claims, that they are engaged in an impeachment inquiry, it could go all the way to the Supreme Court, perhaps on an expedited basis. However, the committee is likely to lose every judicial challenge unless the House itself adopts a resolution authorizing an impeachment inquiry. Absent a vote of the full House, it is highly unlikely that the courts will give credence to a House committee claiming to be an impeachment inquiry in order to bypass all the usual rules about obtaining grand jury materials or the testimony of potential witnesses. These rules exist to promote candor in grand juries and between the president and his advisers...

Many have called her tone offensive and patronizing. lowlife-Harris also lied right to the woman’s face. She said, “I don’t intend to mess with” Americans’ health care, reiterating that later in the video. Yet her twist on socialist Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare for All” plan would disadvantage private health insurance and ultimately lead to its demise, as analyst Chris Jacobs explains here. The proposal would dramatically change U.S. health care. After the second round of Democratic debates, lowlife-Harris’ polling numbers slipped. They were around 14 percent prior to the debate and now at approximately 8 percent.

Jerusalem Bomb Plot Underscores
Ceaseless Hamas Terror Efforts

The episode underscores the constant threat posed by the largest Palestinian terror organization to regional security and its determination to restore its capabilities in the West Bank. The cell was also planning attacks on the Fatah-run Palestinian Authority, Israel's Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency said. The cell was under the direct command of Hamas's military wing in the Gaza Strip, where the Islamist movement maintains both a regime and a terrorist army, as well as a rocket production industry. Hamas's jihadist ideology calls for mass-casualty terror attacks on Israeli citizens – a goal it has not strayed from even after taking over a government in Gaza. Its ambition to topple the rule of its arch internal rival, Fatah, serves as an additional motivation for Hamas to destabilize the West Bank by orchestrating violence. Hamas hopes to weaken the Palestinian Authority by drawing Israeli security forces into clashes with local Palestinians. The cell was based in the Hebron region of the West Bank, which is considered to be an area with a large concentration of Hamas sympathizers, a Shin Bet statement said. Hamas's military wing in Gaza used online communications to recruit, train, and send instructions to cell members in the West Bank, the Israeli investigation found. During counter-terrorism raids launched in recent days, Israeli forces uncovered an explosive device hidden in Hebron that was ready for immediate use, and detonated it in a controlled explosion. The Left and Its Dishonest 'Truths'

{ americanthinker.com } ~ I'm convinced that one day in the future, people will be studying how it was that the Left was so successful in manipulating language and redefining words... How was it that they were able to lie to the American people, while at the same time appearing not to lie, leaving them with no shred of doubt that they were being told the truth? Their ability to lie, and get away with doing so, is like a superhuman comic book power. They use this power with the same level of ease with which most of us breathe. "Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth" are words attributed to Joseph Goebbels, the minister of propaganda for the Nazi Party. These same words could just as easily have been spoken by Lenin, Stalin, Mao, or any of the Kims of North Korea. The official state-approved newspaper in the USSR was called Pravda, and it was the sole "authoritative" source for "news" and "information" — or propaganda — available to the average Soviet citizen. "Pravda" translates to English as "truth." Telling the "truth" through lies is not a recent phenomenon, but it is something the Democrat Left has mastered to great effect by employing demagogic tactics that exploit people's emotions and built-in biases. It is not difficult to observe this phenomenon. When you appeal specifically and predominantly to people's emotions, their ability to critically analyze the issue is all too often nonexistent. The heart wholly overrides the brain. Now, does the right lie? Of course! Are conservatives perfect? Of course not! They are human. Humans, by their nature, are flawed. Ironically, though, the fact that they more often tend to engage in expressing unpleasant and honest truths, the truths that people do not want to hear, such as the consequences of a spiraling debt, welfare entitlement programs, and mass illegal immigration, makes them less likeable to many people, who recoil when confronted with unpleasant truths and simply prefer to dismiss conservatives, and Republicans in general, as a bunch of old fuddy-duddies. So how does the Left lie to mischaracterize? It's oftentimes subtle, but it comes as follows: If you believe in legal, controlled immigration and want to prevent illegal crossings by supporting border walls, then you are anti-immigrant and a xenophobe. If you oppose programs such as affirmative action because you believe that blacks are just as capable at succeeding or failing as whites, it doesn't matter. You hate black people and are therefore a racist...

After the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, investigators discovered that the lone man assigned to guard the president, John Parker, had abandoned his post to watch the play from an adjacent box at Ford’s Theater. Worse, at intermission, Parker adjourned to a nearby saloon to have drinks with some friends. It was during the second act that John Wilkes Booth entered the president’s box and shot him.
Maybe something as simple and explainable as that will be the conclusion of an investigation into the death of billionaire financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a Manhattan federal prison. Attorney General William Barr has ordered the FBI to look into how someone so recently on suicide watch, but later removed, could hang himself in his cell when he was supposed to be monitored.
Among numerous questions: What method did Epstein use? Was there a chair in the cell and if so, why? Was there something on the ceiling that a sheet, or rope, could go over? How did Epstein obtain a sheet or rope? Was it really suicide?
An unnamed source working as a chaplain in a Los Angeles psychiatric hospital responded to my inquiry concerning monitoring protocols: “I have seen and know the protocols for suicidal patients and usually they are given meds to keep them calm. The patient is not simply under observation but is physically watched 24/7 … not every 10 minutes or 30 minutes, but minute by minute. I can’t even give them a Bible with a hard cover or even a rosary … there’s no way to commit suicide without help from someone else … this is wrong!”
Conspiracy theories immediately surfaced, including one disseminated by President Trump. In a tweet, the president, who knew Epstein, but claims they had a falling out some years ago, tried to link Epstein’s death to former President scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton. That one quickly began trending on Twitter, mostly because so many people associated with the scumbag/liar-Clintons have died, some under curious circumstances.
Not all conspiracy theories turn out to be wrong. If one is known by the company one keeps, those named in recently released court documents that visited Epstein’s “fantasy island,” allegedly stocked with underage girls, were pretty bad company. Those named deny the allegations, but given the details of witnesses and the known behavior of some of them, that hardly seems credible. Now that Epstein is dead, perhaps some are breathing a little easier knowing he won’t have to testify at trial and be asked whether he served as a pimp to the wealthy and well-connected.
FoxNews.com alleges there is more to come: “Former President scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the ‘Lolita Express’ – even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights…
"scumbag/liar-Clinton’s presence aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s Boeing 727 on 11 occasions has been reported, but flight logs show the number is more than double that, and trips between 2001 and 2003 included extended junkets around the world with Epstein and fellow passengers identified on manifests by their initials or first names, including ‘Tatiana.’ The tricked-out jet earned its Nabokov-inspired nickname because it was reportedly outfitted with a bed where passengers had group sex with young girls.”
It would be a convenience, to say the least, for Epstein to be out of the way before his trial and it wouldn’t be the first time someone got knocked off in prison for revenge or to guarantee their silence. Whitey Bulger, the Irish-American crime boss, was killed by inmates shortly after arriving at the U.S. Penitentiary, Hazelton, in West Virginia, last October.
An old joke says, “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.” And just because conspiracies might make you suspicious, doesn’t mean this might not be one.
