{dailycaller.com} ~ President Donald Trump announced that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley will be leaving her post at the end of 2018... in an Oval Office announcement on Tuesday.  Trump told reporters that Haley had told him approximately 6 months ago that she wanted to leave at the end of two years on the job. Haley told reporters that she is not leaving to run for office against Trump and committed to campaigning for him in 2020. “She has done a fantastic job and we’ve done a fantastic job together. We’ve solved a lot of problems and we’re in the process of solving a lot of problems” Trump said, adding that he is willing to welcome Haley back in any capacity within the Trump administration. Haley’s policy positions were long seen to be at odds with Trump’s positions, though she emerged as a forceful voice for the U.S. at the UN Security Council. The UN Ambassador frequently delivered broadsides against Russia, North Korea, and Iran at the international body and was a vocal advocate of the Trump administration’s agenda. She previously served as the Republican governor of South Carolina.

{dailycaller.com} ~ Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas accused Senate Minority Leader Chuck scumbag/clown-Schumer Tuesday... of being involved in the operation to leak Christine Blasey Ford’s letter to the public. “I believe the scumbag/clown-Schumer political operation was behind this from the very beginning,” Cotton told conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt during his radio show. Ford wrote dummycrats-Democratic lawmakers a letter in July accusing Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct more than 35 years ago. During the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in September, Ford said she did not authorize the letters release, despite it being made public. “We learned last week that a woman named Monica McLean was Ms. Ford’s roommate and she was one of the so-called ‘beach friends’ that encouraged Ms. Ford to go to Sen. Dianne Fein-stein and the partisan dummycrats-Democrats on the judiciary committee,” Cotton continued. “It just so happens that Monica McLean worked for Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney in Manhattan, now a virulent anti-Trump critic on television and former counsel to Chuck scumbag/clown-Schumer.”...

{freebeacon.com} ~ The Trump administration is open to allowing some countries to continue importing Iranian oil, despite promises to tighten the screws on Tehran... and any country that continues doing business with the Islamic Republic, according to U.S. officials who confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that some nations may get a temporary pass from a cadre of new sanctions set to be imposed next month. The latest concessions come amid a widening battle in the Trump administration over the severity of new sanctions set to be imposed on Iran early next month. While top officials in the Trump administration, including President Trump himself, have vowed to crack down on global business dealings with Iran, some officials have been working to lessen the severity of these sanctions through waivers and other concessions that would help Iran's ailing economy. Trump administration officials told the Free Beacon in June they are "not granting waivers" to some countries importing Iranian oil, but walked that statement back late Monday when a U.S. official disclosed it is now actively working to grant "individual countries" waivers from the new oil sanctions. This new stance is triggering criticism from some Iran hawks and comes amid disparate statements about the administration's willingness to grant other concessions, such as preserving Iran's access to international financial markets, as the Free Beacon first reported on Monday...  https://freebeacon.com/national-security/trump-administration-examines-path-waive-iranian-oil-sanctions/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=e2693e30d4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_10_09_10_40_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-e2693e30d4-45611665

{freebeacon.com} ~ The House Majority PAC, a federal political action committee closely tied to Rep. Nancy sick-Pulosi (D., Calif.), recently sent funds to a political action committee... that is primarily backed by liberal billionaire scumbag-George Soros and was created as part of a campaign to push infrequent voters to the polls this November. The "Win Justice" campaign was launched earlier this year by Planned Parenthood Votes, Color of Change PAC, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and the Center for Community Change Action to target young people, voters of color, and women voters in Florida, Nevada, and Michigan with a goal of spending $30 million leading up to election day. As part of the effort, the coalition created a federal committee called the Win Justice PAC that is run by individuals from the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Community Change Action. Deepak Pateriya, the chief of staff at the organization, is listed as the PACs treasurer. Deepak Bhargava, the executive director of the Center for Community Change, sits on the board of scumbag-Soros's U.S. programs at the Open Society Foundations. The Win Justice PAC reported $4.6 million in total contributions on its most recent filings to the Federal Election Commission, $3 million of which was provided by scumbag-Soros. The SEIU, Marilyn Simons, president of the Simons Foundation and wife of billionaire hedge funder Jim Simons, and Jennifer Allan-scumbag-Soros, scumbag-Soros's daughter in law, provided the remaining $1.6 million to the federal PAC... Boy there is alot of scum in this world.  https://freebeacon.com/politics/pelosi-affiliated-pac-sends-cash-soros-funded-pac-targeting-infrequent-voters/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=e2693e30d4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_10_09_10_40_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-e2693e30d4-45611665

 U.S., NATO Naval Forces Pushing
Back Against Russian Harassment

{news.usni.org} ~ U.S. and NATO ships are focused on conducting freedom of navigation operations in Europe to push back against a Russia... that is increasingly harassing commercial shipping and introducing new anti-access weapons into the theater, according to the head of U.S. naval forces in Europe. Adm. James Foggo said Friday that “the illegal annexation of Crimea has given the Russian Federation an opportunity to establish more anti-access and area-denial capabilities in the Black Sea. So S-300, S-400 Bastion weapon systems, anti-ship cruise missiles. They’re pouring more into Kaliningrad and the Baltics, and they’re establishing more robust A2/AD capabilities in the Eastern Mediterranean.” While these systems haven’t been used yet to try to keep out U.S. or NATO military forces, the Russians have been aggressive in the Sea of Azov. After building a $3.7-billion bridge over the Kerch Strait that connects Russia to Crimea, the Russians have been seeking to keep Ukrainian ships out of the strait and the Sea of Azov on the other side, even though under international maritime law the Sea of Azov is controlled by both Russia and Ukraine. “Along with the bridge goes the entry point to the Sea of Azov. If you’re keeping up with this lately, there’s been some irresponsible activity in the Sea of Azov in the last couple months, the Ukrainians are not happy about that. The Russians have delayed shipping, held them at sea, unable to enter port, any port, unable to go to sea. This is costing the Ukraine millions of dollars a year and it’s an unfair practice,” Foggo said Friday morning while speaking at an Atlantic Council event...

Susan Collins' Finest Hour

by Cal Thomas

In a speech announcing her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) reminded me of some of the great orators of the past. Her speech was measured in tone, substantive in content and delivered with conviction.
Collins is no conservative. She has voted in favor of abortion and same-sex marriage while towing a more moderate line on economics. Her speech supporting Kavanaugh and denouncing the smears against him and the distortion of his judicial record was as good as any delivered by her more conservative colleagues.
She correctly labeled the process that has become corrupt, nasty and divisive: “We have come to the conclusion of a confirmation process that has become so dysfunctional it looks more like a caricature of a gutter-level political campaign than a solemn occasion.”
Collins chastised activists who sent out fundraising letters opposing President Trump’s nominee even before Kavanaugh was announced: “…we have seen special-interest groups whip their followers into a frenzy by spreading misrepresentations and outright falsehoods…
She didn’t mention the major media’s complicity in helping those groups to publicize the falsehoods with virtually no corrections to their outlandish claims.
Noting “Our Supreme Court confirmation process has been in steady decline for more than thirty years,” she added this wish: “One can only hope that the Kavanaugh nomination is where the process has finally hit rock bottom.
Given the level of virulent hatred by the left I wouldn’t bet on it.
After saying she has been assured by Kavanaugh of his respect for precedent – by which she meant fealty to Roe v. Wade and the Affordable Care Act – she said that Kavanaugh was not a sure vote for policies of the Trump administration. She pointed out that other justices nominated by Republican presidents have voted in ways that went against their wishes, United States vs. Nixon being one of the more significant ones.
There was a glimmer of hope in Collins’ speech for those who believe Roe was wrongly decided. She said, “There are, of course, rare and extraordinary times where the Supreme Court would rightly overturn a precedent.”
In what might be one of those “carved in stone” quotes, Collins delivered her most profound line: “We must always remember that it is when passions are most inflamed that fairness is most in jeopardy.”
Fairness was not just in jeopardy; it was murdered. dummycrats-Democrats and activists promoted inaccurate and unfair stories and treated as truth the testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her. They did the same with others who claimed, without evidence, that Kavanaugh participated in, or was present at, alleged gang rapes fueled by drugs and alcohol.
About that Collins said, “This outlandish allegation was put forth without any credible supporting evidence and simply parroted public statements of others. That such an allegation can find its way into the Supreme Court confirmation process is a stark reminder about why the presumption of innocence is so ingrained in our American consciousness.”
In this instance, the presumption of guilt was the rule. Though there were no corroborating witnesses and Ford, herself, could not remember significant details about the evening, virtually all Senate dummycrats-Democrats and many Americans appeared ready to lynch Kavanaugh, causing harm to his reputation, character and grief to his family and friends, including many women who issued statements about his honor and fitness for the court.
Nearing the end of her speech, Collins said of the process surrounding the Kavanaugh nomination: “It is a case of people bearing ill will towards those who disagree with them. In our intense focus on our differences, we have forgotten the common values that bind us together as Americans.”
Unfortunately, a younger generation of Americans knows little about those values. They seem to be rarely taught in public schools and universities. That is why they are slipping away. Young people would do well to be reminded of them by reading Sen. Collins’ speech.
