Media Editors:  CITIZENSHIP QUESTION ANNULLED:  “The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the Trump administration’s explanation for asking about citizenship on the 2020 census didn’t hold water, sending the matter back to the Commerce Department to try again. But the timing of the ruling — just days before the department must finalize the questionnaire for the 2020 count — likely means the administration won’t be able to ask.” (The Washington Times)
.
GERRYMANDERING VERDICT: “The Supreme Court’s conservatives decided Thursday that federal courts do not have a role to play in deciding whether partisan gerrymandering goes too far. The 5 to 4 decision was written by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and joined by the court’s other conservatives.” (The Washington Post)
.
‘AUER DEFERENCE’ UPHELD: “The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to overturn a precedent that strengthens the power of government regulators in a closely watched case that could have broad ramifications for federal agencies. The precedent is known as ‘Auer deference,’ after the 1997 case Auer v. Robbins. Since Auer, the Supreme Court has held that courts should defer to agencies’ interpretations of their own rules if those rules are ambiguous. Though the top court retained the precedent, it did so while imposing limitations.” (CNBC)
.
THE GREATEST MOST BORING SHOW ON EARTH: “At the first debate of the Democratic presidential primary, Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren and the other nine candidates on stage Wednesday charged that the ‘rigged’ economy under President Donald Trump is benefiting only the rich, while they disagreed over the border crisis, military power and how to improve the nation’s health care system,” NBC News reports. President Donald Trump summed up the debate succinctly: “Boring!”

TERRORISTS EYE THE BORDER: “Law enforcement officials in Nicaragua have arrested four ISIS terror suspects — two from Iraq and two from Egypt — who reportedly entered the country with Costa Rican travel documents as part of a migrant group that U.S. officials say was headed north to the U.S.-Mexico border.” (The Daily Wire)
.
FRAUDULENT FAMILIES: “The Department of Homeland Security revealed just how common ‘fraudulent families’ are among the thousands of illegal immigrants reaching the U.S.-Mexico border every month. … [Homeland Security Investigations] agents have uncovered a massive amount of fraud in the short time they’ve been deployed. To date … agents have uncovered 316 fraudulent families, 599 bogus documents, and [DSI] has presented 629 different people to the Justice Department for various criminal violations.” (The Daily Caller)

westernjournal.com } ~ President Donald Trump will veto a spending bill providing the humanitarian aid he has been seeking for America’s beleaguered southern border if it includes Democratic proposals... “that would make our country less safe,” according to a White House statement released Monday. Trump has been seeking $4.5 billion in humanitarian aid to address conditions on the border, where the sheer magnitude of the flood of illegal immigrants has overwhelmed detention facilities, including those the Department of Health and Human Services operates to serve children. Although the Senate has been addressing Trump’s request in a bipartisan fashion, the Democrat-controlled House has erupted in protest against the bill.  The New York Times said that more than 30 members of the Progressive Caucus and more than 15 members of the Hispanic Caucus held conference calls Sunday night, with most attacking the bill as supporting an immigration system they oppose. To address those concerns, the Democratic majority is seeking to adapt the spending bill to address progressive priorities. The White House has said those changes, which would de-fund detention centers in some cases, are unacceptable. “After ignoring the Administration’s request for desperately needed funding to address the humanitarian crisis at the border for over a month, and despite the efforts of the House minority, the House majority has put forward a partisan bill that underfunds necessary accounts and seeks to take advantage of the current crisis by inserting policy provisions that would make our country less safe,” the statement read, according to Fox News. The depth of the need was illustrated last week by Customs and Border Protection Chief Operating Officer John Sanders, who said Border Patrol stations are holding 15,000 people. Their capacity is 4,000 people, he said. House Democrats are divided about the bill, The Washington Post reported. New York Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is among those opposed to the funding. “I will not fund another dime to allow ICE to continue its manipulative tactics,” she said Monday, referring to U.S. Immigrant and Customs Enforcement. comie-Ocasio-Cortez said the issues at the border are “not due to a lack of resources; that’s due to a desire — an active desire by this administration to hurt kids. We need to stop funding the detention of children under any and all circumstances.”... commie-AOC is full of you know what.  https://www.westernjournal.com/white-house-threatens-veto-border-bill-due-provisions-thrown-democrats/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=conservativebyte&utm_campaign=dailypm&utm_content=libertyalliance

westernjournal.com } ~ Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that the United States and Russia could be on the verge of another “Cuban Missile Crisis”... just as a Russian warship entered Cuba’s Havana Harbor on Monday. The Deputy Foreign Minister said on Monday that the United States’ deployment of land-based missile systems near Russia’s borders could lead to the 1962 style of conflict, Reuters reports. Russia has largely been critical of the plans the United States has of deploying missile systems in Eastern Europe. The country has also been cautious about the withdrawal by the United States from the INF arms control treaty. Meanwhile, the Admiral Gorshkov, arguably Russia‘s most powerful vessel, docked in Havana while being watched by an American warship, the Express reports. The warship is considered the nation’s most advanced and is armed with missiles and air defense systems, as well as other weapons, PBS Newshour reports. As the warship made its way into the harbor, it was greeted warmly by Cuban forces with a 21-gun salute. The Admiral Gorshkov responded in favor with its own salute. Many see the move to dock the warship in Cuba as a show of strength from Russia as tensions between the two countries continue to rise. “If things get as far as an actual deployment on the ground of these sorts of systems, then the situation won’t just get more complicated, it will escalate right to the limit,” Ryabkov said. “We could find ourselves in a situation where we have a rocket crisis close not just to the crisis of the 1980s but close to the Caribbean crisis,” he added. The docking of the warship is reminiscent of the 1960s Cuban Missile Crisis as the U.S. blocked Soviet ships from heading to Cuba...  https://www.westernjournal.com/russia-warns-new-cuban-missile-crisis-powerful-warship-docks-cuba/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=libertyalliance&utm_campaign=dailypm&utm_content=libertyalliance

spectator.org } ~ You have to feel a bit sorry for comie-Bernie Sanders. The Vermont senator came within seven points of capturing the Democratic nomination in 2016... He’s spent the intervening three years working on his brand and building toward his 2020 run, confident that greater name recognition and preparedness would make him the comfortable frontrunner.  Now, with Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren nipping at his heels, commie-Sanders is about to fall to third place. No wonder he seems increasingly desperate to prevent his rival from outflanking him from the left. commie-Sanders’s latest proposal to eliminate all student loan debt in the country — no exceptions — is a clear attempt to one-up dinky-Warren’s own debt cancellation proposal, which contains some exceptions and limits for wealthier debt holders. commie-Sanders’s full-throated advocacy of economic illiteracy was backed by the usual suspects, including representatives worthless-Ilhan Omar and commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Entrepreneur Andrew Yang, also a candidate for the Democratic nomination, tweeted his support. There are no doubt more endorsements to come, given the intense jockeying for the favor of left-wing voters during the primary race. Morally, student debt cancellation as proposed by the senator is unjustifiable. The mildest criticism, but still one worth mentioning, is that the majority of student debt is held by wealthier borrowers, who stand to benefit the most from debt forgiveness. dinky-Warren’s plan attempts to mitigate this by restricting forgiveness to lower-earning borrowers, while commie-Sanders’s plan does not. It would, in effect, be a handout to the rich. More egregious is the plan’s disregard for personal responsibility. Taking on debt, even when ill advised, ought to be done with the expectation that the borrower will repay it in full. The progressive counterargument is that college applicants are sold a false bill of goods by colleges. Even if that were the case, what about those high school graduates with enough sense to avoid college altogether and go straight into work because they are unwilling to go into debt? The government surely owes them compensation for their lost earning potential. What about borrowers who have paid off their debt on their own? Many of them spent their post-college years living with a reduced quality of life due to money lost to debt repayments. The government must owe them, too. What about students who, wishing to be financially responsible, matriculated at cheaper and less prestigious colleges over costlier ones? Rather than helping these people, commie-Sanders seeks to reward irresponsible borrowers and the parents who encourage them. Economically, debt cancellation would be a counterproductive disaster...  https://spectator.org/fearful-of-warren-sanders-backs-disastrous-college-debt-policies/?utm_source=American%20Spectator%20Emails&utm_campaign=918580a542-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_06_26_12_51&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-918580a542-104608113

{frontpagemag.com} ~ In March, DNC boss Tom Perez claimed that FOX News could not be trusted to host a “fair and neutral debate” because of the “inappropriate relationship”... between President Trump and the news network. In a FOX News interview, Perez accused it of having “put the thumb on the scale”. And then the DNC awarded the first Democrat debate to MSNBC and NBC News. Scale meet thumb. Perez had claimed that FOX News had “pierced that line between editorial and your Sean Hannity shows.” The DNC had decided to pierce the line between editorial and conspiracy theories by accepting MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow as one of the NBC/MSNBC moderators alongside its news anchors. Maddow had briefly become the public face of MSNBC, remaking it with disastrous results. In the Trump era, the formerly lightweight leftist pundit was reinvented as an obsessive conspiracy theorist. Maddow had barely paid attention to Russia before. Now, her show was built around finding a nexus between Trump and Russia while postulating that everything Trump did was done on Vladimir Putin’s orders. On one show, she suggested that it may be that “the American presidency right now is the product of collusion between the Russian intelligence services and an American campaign.” During the Democrat shutdown, she implied that Trump was trying to destroy the country on Putin’s orders. "If Russia did get a US president to act on their behalf against the United States. If you were Russia, what else would you want that president to do at this point?" she breathlessly fulminated. "The government is not just a vehicle that has sputtered to a halt, each passing day pours more sugar into the gas tank, making it harder and harder for this thing to ever get running again." This was the unhinged conspiracy theorist whom the DNC thought should be moderating a debate. The DNC’s Perez had justified his FOX News ban based on a hit piece by Jane Mayer that appeared in the New Yorker. Mayer was a regular on MSNBC and appeared on the lefty news network to promote the very hit piece that had been cited by Perez. Mayer had also appeared on Maddow’s show even though the New York Times had banned its reporters from the conspiracy show...  https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/274095/msdnc-%E2%80%93-merger-msnbc-and-democrats-daniel-greenfield

thefederalist.com } ~ This week, Democratic presidential candidates will gather in Miami for their first debates of the 2020 campaign cycle... Health care, including Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders’ single-payer scheme, will surely serve as a prime point of contention. More candidates who want to appear more moderate, such as former vice president loose lips liar-Joe Biden, might try to contrast themselves with Vermont’s socialist senator. Because loose lips liar-Biden and others instead want to allow people to buy into the Medicare program—the so-called “public option”—they will claim that individuals who like their current health coverage need not fear losing it. Don’t you believe it. A chart by the Lewin Group demonstrates the damage that even this “moderate” option would have on private health insurance. In an April 2009 study, Lewin concluded that within one short year, a government-run health plan would eliminate the private coverage of 119.1 million individuals—two-thirds of those with employer-provided insurance: Democrats’ proposals for a government-run health plan have slightly different details, but they share several characteristics that explain this massive erosion of private health coverage. First, most of the plans receive dollars from the Treasury—seed funding, funding for reserves, or both. These billions of taxpayer dollars, to say nothing of the possibility of additional bailout funds should it into financial distress, would give a government-run plan an inherent advantage over private insurers. Second, the government plan would not have to undertake the hard work of forming physician networks. Most of the plans would commandeer doctors already participating in the existing Medicare and Medicaid programs. Some bills, like one introduced by Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), would require all physicians participating in Medicare and Medicaid to also participate in the government-run plan—leverage that private insurers do not have. Third, and most importantly, the government-run plan would pay doctors and hospitals at or near Medicare payment levels. These payment levels fall far short of what private health plans pay medical providers, and in most cases fall short of the actual cost of care...   https://thefederalist.com/2019/06/26/chart-explains-democrats-will-kill-current-health-coverage/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=eddec9c34a-RSS_The_Federalist_Daily_Updates_w_Transom&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_cfcb868ceb-eddec9c34a-83771801

No, loose lips liar-Joe, Half of Americans Aren't Poor

Robin Smith:  Former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden recently declared to the attendees of the Poor People’s Campaign Candidate Forum, “We have … almost half of the people in the United States living in poverty.”

Huh? The population of the U.S. in 2018 was estimated to be just over 327 million. So, according to the leading Democrat presidential candidate, about 163 million individuals in this nation are living in poverty — in what may be one of the best economic windows of time in modern history. The U.S. currently enjoys essentially full employment, wage growth is on the upward swing, GDP growth is around 3%, and investors are loving a stock market flirting with a historic 27,000 points.

Poverty is calculated in different ways, as reported by The Washington Post’s Fact Checker that gave a bit of analysis on Uncle Joe’s tall tale. The U.S. Census Bureau reported that 12.3% of the population, not almost 50%, were below the federal poverty line back in 2017. Individuals in that slice of the demographic pie were making less than $12,060 in 2017, with families of four earning just $24,600. Even applying the Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) of the Census Bureau that employs a more generous definition as to the unit of family measured, as well as lowers the reported income by removing expenses such as childcare and any medical costs, those falling below the poverty level at most totaled 13.9%.

So, Joe, where are you getting that “almost half”?

The loose lips liar-Biden campaign responded to the WaPo Fact Checker that they were using the SPM and looking at all whose incomes fell below 200% of poverty level. That does move the figure to 43.3% — which Biden then embellished even further — but it’s really not about the numbers. Focus on the tactic and message.

“It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant,” President Ronald Reagan once said. “It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.”

Nowhere near half of America’s population is poor. But, in 2019, the Left’s only effective message involves the contagion of envy, not empowerment or even equality. The best way to ensure that there’s a great pandemic of resentment and discontent is to preach the hateful spew of victimhood — to half of the population.

(Conversely, remember how savagely rino-Mitt Romney was attacked for rightly noting that “47% of Americans pay no income tax” and thus would be less inclined to vote for him.)

The Poor People’s Forum was the perfect place for loose lips liar-Biden to read from the holy screed of covetousness and ill will. It makes Democrats the saviors of the malcontents who look at another’s success not with hope or inspiration but hatred and resentment. Nevertheless, Joe and the other Democrats were faithful to proselytize to their prospective campaign congregants with the prejudicial posits that the evil Republicans, led by President Donald Trump, are the real cause of their supposed victimhood status.

The “War on Poverty” through the “Great Society” began in the 1960s. Here we are 55 years later and, using 2014 figures, having spent more than $22 trillion (What was that pesky national debt figure?), we’re still hearing that government is the solution to those in need. The fire of Freedom is being snuffed out with every single entitlement, program, and agency created to stifle self-reliance and the will to be independent of a growing population.

What else did loose lips liar-Biden say at the Poor People’s Forum? He promised, “First thing I would do as president is eliminate the president’s tax cut.” Yes, your math is accurate — that means tax increases all around. This is right in line with an interview the champion of socialism held last week. commie-Bernie Sanders proclaimed, “I suspect that a lot of people in this country would be delighted to pay more in taxes if they had comprehensive health care as a human right.”

Let’s correct that, commie-Bernie. There are a lot of people who’d like other peoples’ taxes to go up to pay for health insurance that they currently may not have, along with any other goodie from the list of freebies coming from the Democrats. commie-Sanders himself pays only “the taxes I owe” — not what he demands of others.

If loose lips liar-Biden and commie-Bernie, along with the rest of the field of Democratic Socialists, get their way, the elimination of Republican tax reform will mean that a single parent will “be delighted” to pay $1,300 more in taxes and a family of four having a combined income of $73,000 will boost their patriotism, as loose lips liar-Biden declared in 2008, by paying $2,000 more to Uncle Sam.

loose lips liar-Joe, it just ain’t so that almost half of Americans are living in poverty. Even an article at the leftist rag Vox challenges the premise that millions of Americans are destitute. The writer, Ryan Briggs of Virginia Tech, flatly noted, “Don’t believe it.” Citing the measurements for the poor globally reflect consumption as compared to the U.S. metric of income and a study  establishing that “very few Americans are deprived of their most basic material needs,” the Vox analysis contradicts loose lips liar-Joe, commie-Bernie, and the gang attempting to win the hearts and minds of the disgruntled.

There is poverty. There are inequities. But the correction is not to take from those who are productive in some faux philanthropy to boost voter rolls. The playbook of the Democrats for this election cycle is exactly the same: lie, preach victimhood, and grow the government to plunder from those who are law-abiding and productive to sustain the malcontents, not just those in true need.

Don’t be ignorant; see through the things that just aren’t so.
