Bill Maher: scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton
‘committed obstruction of justice’
by John Gage
washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Bill Maher went after former presidential candidate scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton saying she committed obstruction of justice in destroying evidence related to her email scandal... “I don't have a lot of faith because, you know, we don't live in the era of news division as loss leaders like we used to. The news division didn't have to make a profit,” Maher said Monday in an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo in response to a question about how the media should police the election. “Then that changed and then you have to report to the board like everybody else and show your earnings and in that atmosphere they're always going to be looking for eyeballs. That’s going to be the most important thing is getting people to click, getting people to watch. And in that atmosphere, I mean look at how much they over covered scumbag/liar-Hillary's emails in 2016. And what effect that had on the election? Now there's a lot of reasons why the Democrats lost and many of them were scumbag/liar-Hillary was a terrible candidate.” Cuomo responded by saying scumbag/liar-Clinton did not help herself in how she handled the email situation. “Absolutely, right,” Maher said. “And she committed obstruction of justice.” Cuomo said the smashing of phones by scumbag/liar-Clinton was “bad optics.”Maher said later in the interview that political correctness in the Democratic Party had become a cancer. "They have some things to answer for," Maher said. "They don’t help themselves a lot and a lot of this far-left political correctness is a cancer on progressivism."...

Supreme Court Tells Atheists
‘In God We Trust’ Will Stay On Money
by Jeff Dunetz
lidblog.com } ~ The Supreme Court rejected a suit brought by atheists to remove “In God We Trust,” the national motto, from all U.S. coins and currency... Michael Newdow, the same activist attorney who tried to remove “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance, lost his case, arguing Congress’ mandate to inscribe “In God, We Trust” on currency was a government endorsement of religion and a violation of the First Amendment.  Newdow argued in his petition to the Supreme Court that because his clients are all atheist individuals or atheist groups, the government violated their “sincere religious belief” that there is no God and turned them into “political outsiders” by placing the phrase “In God We Trust” on their money. If it really offends, they should send me their money, I will take their money off their hands so they don’t have to look at it anymore. Atheists and liberals love to talk about what they claim is a First Amendment separation of church and state. The first amendment was never meant to stop religion from influencing government. The founding fathers wanted to ensure that the government wouldn’t have undue influence/pressure on religion...  https://lidblog.com/supreme-court-atheists/

Mexico Withholds Identities of Migrant
Caravan Funders in U.S., Britain
by Ildefonso Ortiz and Brando Darby
breitbart.com } ~ Mexican authorities are not releasing the names of the 26 individuals and entities whose assets were frozen as part of a new probe into migrant caravans and cartel-linked human smuggling organizations... The investigation was moved into high gear this week as tensions between the U.S. and Mexico escalated over tariff threats as a punitive measure for lax immigration enforcement. On Thursday, Mexico’s Finance and Tax Secretariat (SHCP) announced the seizure of 26 accounts, including some from the United Kingdom and the U.S., which allegedly helped fund the northbound migrant caravans largely from Central America. Diplomatic sources consulted by Breitbart News revealed the probe is personally led by UIF Director Santiago Nieto Castillo, who directly briefs Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. The SHCP’s Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) tracked suspicious transactions beginning in October 2018 to determine the sources of funding for the caravans. The results reportedly pointed to some monies coming from the U.S., U.K., African nations, and throughout Central America. Diplomatic sources revealed the investigation is still developing since the case was prioritized Monday as tensions over tariffs escalated. The freezes came at the same time Mexican authorities arrested two primary organizers of the caravans who allegedly maintain ties to the U.S.-based Pueblo Sin Fronteras. Mexican authorities claim the organizers would demand money from some migrants seeking to illegally enter the U.S.Law enforcement sources revealed to Breitbart News that the UIF investigation found four sanctioned accounts linked to human smuggling groups loyal to cartels in border cities. Two accounts were traced to Piedras Negras with links to the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas and an independent smuggler in that area. Two other accounts exhibit ties to Gulf Cartel operators in Reynosa, Tamaulipas...

Newspapers Seek Government Protection
Congress Should Kill H.R. 2054
by Erick Erickson
theresurgent.com } ~ A well meaning piece of legislation is getting a hearing today in Congress. It is called the  Journalism Competition and Preservation Act... Local newspapers and a few members of Congress are convinced that Facebook and Google are killing local papers. The law would allow newspapers to collectively prohibit Google and Facebook from sharing their content or, at least, require that these companies pay newspapers for the content they carry. But what content from newspapers do Google and Facebook carry? They cover the minimal amount necessary to get someone to notice an article and click through to the local papers. The problem here is not that the social media giants are rebroadcasting the content, but that the local newspapers are not able to get people to click through to the stories. This all goes back to newspapers never adapting to the digital age. They are seeking someone beside themselves to blame. Many newspapers from news organizations like, for example, McClatchy, all largely run the same syndicated news information. So one can click through and go to a newspaper in Georgia to see the content from the newspaper in California. McClatchy gets the revenue, not the local paper. Many of these companies have built awful, gross websites that are user unfriendly. Other papers are single papers in large cities. Increasingly, they depend on clicks through from social media to get attention on their stories. To force Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to pay them for the privilege of sending traffic to those papers is nuts. But that’s ultimately what they want. The legislation fundamentally misunderstands how internet traffic works and it fundamentally misunderstands why newspapers are failing. The internet is not to blame for local newspapers woes except that they no longer have a monopoly and people are no longer dependent on them. Seeking government subsidy and protection is the wrong strategy. It is a strategy that suggests newspapers have learned nothing and forgotten nothing. H.R. 2054 may be well meaning. There may be no dispute that local news is dying. It may be true that this is bad for the country. But Google and Facebook are not to blame. Local newspapers never building a relationship with their readers and treating themselves as indispensable caused the problem...  https://theresurgent.com/2019/06/11/newspapers-seek-government-prot...

Firefight Breaks Out Between IDF
and Palestinian Forces in Nablus
by Anna Ahronheim
jpost.com } ~ A firefight broke out between IDF forces and Palestinian security forces in the West Bank city of Nablus early Tuesday morning... in what the IDF said was a case of mistaken identity. “During operations to arrest terrorist operatives in the city of Nablus, a firefight broke out between IDF soldiers and people who were identified by the troops as suspects. After the fact, it was determined that it was Palestinian security services personnel,” the IDF said in a statement.  While no Israeli soldiers were wounded in the exchange of fire near the PA headquarters in the city, one Palestinian security officer was slightly injured in his hand. The governor of Nablus, Ibrahim Ramadan, said that Israeli forces had not notified the PA before entering the city contrary to normal procedures and “directly and without justification” opened fire on the PA security service building, the PA news site WAFA reported. According to the report, Ramadan inspected the scene “immediately” after IDF troops left the area and said that "we must not remain silent before such acts. Their goal was to kill. The bullets broke the windows and hit the offices.” Palestinian Quds News network also reported that PA security forces who arrived at the scene with a number of armored vehicles also came under fire by IDF troops. In late May, they received ten armored vehicles from the United States with Israel's approval. Israeli security forces, including the IDF, police and Shin Bet intelligence agency, carry out near nightly raids in the West Bank in an attempt to arrest Palestinians suspected of violence against Israelis. As part of the security coordination between Israel and the PA, Palestinian security officers do not intervene in the arrests. Both sides see the security cooperation as a critical aspect of maintaining stability in the West Bank.  For the past three months, tens of thousands of Palestinian security officers have been receiving only half their salaries because the PA is refusing to accept taxes withheld by Israel - some NIS 500 million a month - in protest over Israeli deductions equal to the amount paid by the PA to individuals who commit terror attacks.  Knesset member Shelly Yachimovich Labor said following the incident that, "the confrontation between the IDF and the Preventive Security forces in Nablus is exceptional, severe and worrying, and does not bode well. It is preferable that the defense minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently busy with his criminal affairs, hasten to resolve the crisis before the situation deteriorates."

NYPD Steven Silks — We Will Miss You, Brother
Mark Alexander:  I first met NYPD Deputy Chief Steven Silks in July of 2011, when a mutual friend at NASA, Rob Schmidt, invited us to Kennedy Space Center (KSC) to watch the final Space Shuttle launch – STS-135/Atlantis. It was a memorable trip not only because we observed the launch from a designated close up location Rob arranged for us, but because one of his other guests was Steven. Over the years, I have kept the NYPD patch and courtesy card he gave me above my car visor as a reminder of that excursion, and the friends we made that day. He was a gracious and personable top cop, who devoted his 39-year NYPD career to his officers — to the job.

Last Wednesday, Steven was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had just filed papers for his mandatory retirement in July. He had no spouse or children, and as one detective said, “He lived for the NYPD.” The president of the NYPD Detectives Endowment, Michael Palladino, added, “He had such enthusiasm for the job and for life itself which makes this difficult to understand. He was one of the nicest human beings I ever met.” NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill said, “Deputy Chief Steven Silks truly was one of the most capable and most dependable cops this profession has ever seen. His entire 39-year NYPD career — much of his adult life, in fact — was devoted to NYC, its police officers, and to fighting crime & protecting all the people we serve.”

I asked our mutual friend, Rob, a Navy veteran and former head of law enforcement for NASA at KSC, to offer a few words about Steven.

From Rob:

“I met Steven Silks in 2008. In my capacity as the KSC Law Enforcement Program Manager, I was also in charge of the overall security operations for space shuttle launches. In that job, I received a lot of phone calls from cops in other agencies who were interested in watching a shuttle launch. I did not know Steven, but given his position with what is arguably one of the world’s finest police departments, I agreed to let him attend a space shuttle launch as my personal guest. During my 12 years at NASA, no other person ever managed to convince me to let them attend a launch as my guest in that manner. But Steven was just that nice.

"In fact, after the first launch day he attended, I invited him back for an all-day, behind-the-scenes tour of every vital area of KSC, including all of the most historic sites. As a space program enthusiast, he loved it. In the years that followed, we became good friends. When I spoke with Steven last week, he was upbeat, positive, and energetic.

"I first became a federal agent in 1982 and retired in 2015. During that time, I knew hundreds of great cops. I’ve never known anyone who lived and breathed the job like Steven. He was truly a ‘cop’s cop.’ Steven loved serving and protecting the public; a more dedicated, loyal enforcement officer you’ll never find. I don’t know why Steven made the choice to end his life as he did, but I do know that this world is diminished by the loss of warriors like him. Steven, we’ll miss you, brother.”

According to Blue Help, 167 police officers took their own lives in 2018. Steven was 62, a month from his 63rd birthday and retirement.

Trump National Diversity Coalition's Bruce LeVell: President’s Support Among Blacks, Hispanics Will ‘More Than Double’ In 2020

Bruce LeVell, the National Diversity Coalition for Trump executive director, said on Sunday evening he predicts President Donald Trump will win even higher levels of support in the black and Hispanic communities in 2020 than he did in 2016.

“Pastor Darrell Scott is the CEO, we started this back in 2015,” LeVell said on Breitbart News Sunday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel on Sunday evening about the National Diversity Coalition for Trump. “It is the largest diversity coalition platform in history for a Republican candidate, not to mention a sitting president, and there are millions of guests that sign on and sign up that are part of this. If you look on the website, you see African Americans for Trump, Haitian Americans for Trump, Korean Americans for Trump, Chinese Americans for Trump, Hispanic Americans for Trump–all very large. They all stand in one agreement that they believe in this great president and that he is here for all and wants everyone to be successful. It’s pretty flattering, honestly, to be a part of this. It just totally debunks everything that they try to make him out to be–a racist, which he’s not. The numbers prove that he’s not. You can see where he’s rising in terms of the Hispanic vote, and the African American vote. It’s just really going to be mind-boggling on the next go-around. I guarantee it. It’s going to more than double because people are happy; they’re working.”

LeVell, when asked for his rationale on why he thinks Trump’s support in 2020 among blacks and Hispanics will more than double, attributed it to the results President Trump has gotten for those communities.

“Sometimes you have to speak things into existence,” LeVell said. “The president said, ‘What do you have to lose?’ That challenge, especially in the underserved communities, well, yeah, what do we have to lose? We tried it this way for 30 or 40 years. Some of these cities and municipalities were under Democrat rule, as you might say, for many years, and then you say, ‘You know what? Let’s make the ask.’ You know, the president made the ask. Sometimes, you just have to ask, ‘Hey, what do you got to lose? Try this.’ Let’s try one of the biggest, strongest bills that he’s signed, that was so beneficial, called the Opportunity Zones. This bill right here alone is bringing a lifeline to some of these underserved communities and is projected to bring in over hundreds of billions of dollars in these underserved communities, which are predominantly African American communities. For example, in Atlanta, there are minority business contractors teaming up with other business contractors building a hotel in an Opportunity Zone. This community has just been blighted for God knows how long. These are the things that people are starting to see–the light at the end of the tunnel. Here’s a businessman that understands what I call a balance sheet, a P & L sheet of profit and loss. The president wants to see the country profitable, not losses. So that’s what he does. He says, ‘Okay, where can we improve? What can we do?’”

He continued, “Like I said earlier, I think the Opportunity Zones is a sleeper; it has so many moving parts to it where you can sell a piece of property for $2 million and instead of paying that very high capital gains [tax] you can identify those funds over the zone, and then, you can build another little hotel or a shopping center for economic empowerment for that community. So there’s so many initiatives out there for people of color, like myself, who see opportunities. You know, how about this? You live in a black community under the Trump administration, you walk down the street and say, ‘Wow, 98 percent who live in the community are African American,’ and you say, ‘Why don’t you build that grocery store? Why don’t you build that gas station?’ Wow, you’re right. I can. The programs that are out there, like in the Small Business Administration, you get as little as five or ten percent down, and they can maturize it to 30 years, and if you’re a veteran, they waive the fees. There are so many tools out there, and you saw the president when he adjusted Dodd-Frank last year; that was a terrible, terrible deal they did in 2009 and 2010 that literally almost just choked and killed the business community because of the Dodd-Frank, going in there and regulating these small community banks, which were life support for these small communities especially in the African American community, where he readjusted that last year and made it work. These are the things this president understands that as a businessman he can bring his lifelong talents to the White House and can help America. The biggest thing about this is, remember, the president is not beholden to any special interest group; this is a very key part of this conversation right here because he can go in there and govern without having to worry about paying back favors.”

According to NBC News analysis in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 election, Trump actually outperformed now-Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT)–then the former governor of Massachusetts–in the 2012 election when it came to both the black and Hispanic communities.

“Trump claimed 29 percent of the Hispanic vote on Tuesday, compared to Romney’s 27 percent in 2012,” NBC News wrote. “With blacks, exit polls show Trump claimed 8 percent of the vote to the previous Republican nominee’s 6 percent.”

If Trump is able to double support in the black and Hispanic communities in 2020, as LeVell predicts he will, no Democrat will stand even close to a chance of defeating him; the margins they would need for victories in a number of states would be significantly eroded. Perhaps that is why the Democrats are now attempting to paint Trump as a racist amid his battle with the so-called “Squad” of socialist Reps. Alexandria Ocasi0-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). The new faces of the Democrat Party, the “Squad,” in other words, is worried they may lose the election in 2020 if LeVell and other Trump backers are right. But the scurrilous accusations of racism for quick political gains, which have also been leveled at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Vice President Joe Biden in recent weeks, LeVell warns, may undermine the ability to stand up to actual racism where it exists.

“At first, it was kind of bizarre,” LeVell, who knows Trump well and has known him prior to his run for president, said of the false racism accusations. “Now, it’s just plainly un-American. It’s so anti-patriotic. You know, the interesting thing about it for me as a black conservative or Republican–I like to define myself as a Frederick Douglass Republican–most of the name-calling comes from people who actually look like me, 90 percent of it. It’s bizarre, and it’s because our thinking process is not lining up with theirs. It’s the only playbook they have, like I said earlier, which is, ‘Let’s just use the race card.’

LeVell went on to say, “Getting back to the president, I’ve been around him–I was just with him at the rally–in very intimate settings, behind the scenes at the rally, and you’re right: I’ve traveled with him, been on the plane with him. I’ve been in private meetings with him. I’ve talked with him, and you know–let me tell you something: I’m 55 years old, I’ve lived my whole life in the South, and I’m world-traveled. Let me tell you: I know racism when I see it. This man is nowhere near being a racist. It’s so sad because it does such a disservice to this great nation that they would throw that name and throw those words around. I mean, you have people calling Biden racist. They’re calling Pelosi racist. They’re calling the dog-catcher racist because he impounded the black dog instead of the white dog. Come on. What’s next? You know, it’s kind of sad because it’s pretty much watered down things that are legitimate, to where people are just going to get so numb with it, and people are just being like, ‘Wow, are you serious?’”
