DEMOCRAT DEBATE: Fox News contributor Douglas E. Schoen says, “Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren of Massachusetts emerged as the clear winner in the Democratic presidential primary debate Tuesday night.” But while Schoen observes that “a clear divide emerged between dinky-Warren and [commie-Bernie] Sanders on the far left and the more moderate candidates,” there exists a rock-solid bond regarding taxpayer spending. In fact, the collective 2020 field’s fantasies amount to a tantalizing $210 trillion in federal spending. It was also evident from last night’s debate that Robert Mueller’s testimony in Congress disappointed, as Mueller wasn’t even mentioned.

BEGINNINGS OF A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT?  “California Democratic Gov. scumbag-Gavin Newsom approved a bill on Tuesday to force President Donald Trump to release his tax returns in order to get on the state’s 2020 primary ballot,” The Sacramento Bee  reports. “While other states have pursued Trump’s taxes, California is the first one in the country to make the disclosure of tax returns a requirement for a ballot spot.” Not that it matters in California, but this is a dangerous model. And the sooner it’s torpedoed in court, the better.

SUIT DISMISSED: “A U.S. judge on Tuesday dismissed a Democratic Party lawsuit arguing that the Russian government, President Donald Trump’s campaign and WikiLeaks carried out a conspiracy to influence the 2016 U.S. election. U.S. District Judge John Koeltl in Manhattan said he could not hear the claims against Russia, which were the focus of the case, because of a legal doctrine called sovereign immunity that shields foreign governments from litigation in the United States.” (Reuters)

PRESCRIPTION REFORM “The Trump administration said Wednesday it will set up a system to allow Americans to legally import lower-cost prescription drugs from Canada, weakening a longstanding ban that had stood as a top priority for the politically powerful pharmaceutical industry.” (NBC News)

NONSTARTER: “Implementing the ‘Green New Deal’ (GND) would cost just shy of $75,000 per household in year one of the program and would never drop below $37,000 per household in any of the following years, according to a [Competitive Enterprise Institute] study released Tuesday.” (The Washington Free Beacon)

TRANSHUMANISM: “Human-animal hybrids are to be developed in embryo form in Japan after the government approved controversial stem-cell research. Human cells will be grown in rat and mouse embryos, then brought to term in a surrogate animal, as part of experiments set to be carried out at the University of Tokyo. Supporters say the work … could be a vital first step towards eventually growing organs that can then be transplanted into people in need. But opponents have raised concerns that scientists are playing God.” (Independent)

NANNY STATE: “A woman in Ohio has been sentenced to 10 days in jail for violating ordinances about feeding stray animals. Seventy-nine-year-old Nancy Segula began visiting stray cats on her back porch a few years ago after a neighbor abandoned their pets.” (Washington Examiner)

VILLAGE ACADEMIC CURRICULUM: “The Chicago Teachers union has a delegation in Venezuela to show their solidarity with Nicolás Maduro’s socialist regime. … Delegation members are personally sharing their wonderment at Venezuelan socialism on a blog called ‘Radical Educator Collective.’ … They quoted a Venezuelan official saying communes make society less individualistic since groups of people are working together to decide their needs and how to work collectively towards solutions.” (Wirepoints)

RECORD APPREHENSIONS: “With two months still left in this fiscal year, the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) border sector has already set an all-time annual record for apprehensions at the border. According to a source in Border Patrol, this week, the total apprehensions in the RGV passed 301,000. That is an all-time record for this sector since Border Patrol began collecting records.” (Conservative Review)

MISSILE LAUNCH: “North Korea has fired two short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast, according to South Korea’s military, the second such launch in a week. … Last week’s launch was the first such action since US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met in June. The North called that launch a "solemn warning” to Seoul over its planned military exercises with Washington.“ (BBC)

scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler Is Lying About Robert Mueller’s Claim He Would Have Indicted Trump

thefederalist.com } ~ To continue the Russia investigation, House Judiciary Committee Chairman scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler is using a misinterpretation of the special counsel report... During a press conference on July 26, scumbag liar-Nadler said of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony, “He told us in a remarkable exchange with Mr. Lieu that but for the Department of Justice policy prohibiting him from doing so, he would have indicted President Trump.” This statement poses one big problem: It isn’t even close to the full story. Based on this contextually bereft interpretation, however, scumbag liar-Nadler announced his committee is filing an application for the grand jury material underlying the Mueller report and will continue to “examine witnesses” and “investigate the president’s misconduct.” The hearing got off to a rough start. Mueller was not a happy witness and was barely cooperating or offering the valuable soundbites Democrats had hoped for. That is, until Rep. Ted Lieu, the California Democrat, questioned him. Lieu said: “I believe any reasonable person looking at these facts could conclude that all three elements of the crime of obstruction of justice have been met. And I’d like to ask you the reason, again, that you did not indict Donald Trump is because of Office of Legal Counsel opinion stating that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?” Mueller replied, “That is correct.” Democrats got excited. House staffers immediately took to Twitter; they had their “gotcha” moment. According to Vox, “That moment set off a bit of a firestorm among left-leaning watchers. Greg Sargent, a liberal commentator at the Washington Post, tweeted, ‘Whoa!’ Nicholas Kristof, an opinion writer for the New York Times, called Mueller’s response ‘the big news so far’ and ‘very significant.’”  Matthew Miller, a former Justice Department press official, tweeted, “I don’t know if this was a misstatement or a Freudian slip, but either way it is undoubtedly true.” Yet the Democrats’ victory lap got cut short. During his opening statement for the day’s second hearing, Mueller corrected his former statement. He said: “I want to add one correction to my testimony this morning. I wanted to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu. It was said, and I quote, ‘You didn’t charge the president because of the OLC opinion.’ That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report and as I said in the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime.”...

Dems Rely on Phony Impeachment Polling

americanthinker.com } ~ Despite the embarrassing spectacle of Robert Mueller’s Congressional testimony where he finally learned about the report he supposedly created and wrote, Democrats are doubling down on stupid... They are ignoring the first law of holes, that when you are deep in one, the smart play is to stop digging. The hole they continue to dig is the one denying the reality of the 2016 presidential election, that Donald Trump beat scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton fair and square. It was not the result Democrats and their media comrades wanted or expected and now they seek to overturn the will of the American people in selecting a president. So what if scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton won the popular vote? scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 with only 43 percent of the popular vote, far from a majority, but no one considered him an illegitimate president for that reason. Democrats have been trying for close to three years to overturn the 2016 election. From Stormy and Avenatti, to Rapinoe and Omarosa, all have tried and failed. Mueller was supposed to deliver the smoking gun to scumbag-Schiff and scumbag liar-Nadler, but instead brought only Mueller’s bewilderment and confusion, with seemingly everything relevant to the Trump Russia collusion hoax being “out of his purview”. All the Dems have left is the I-word. No not idiocy or incompetence, but impeachment. Muller couldn’t find any real crimes, such as conspiracy or obstruction, despite two years of one of the most exhaustive investigations in history, conducted by partisan Democrats who wanted nothing better than to see Trump frog marched out of the White House...

The Growing Danger of Misinformed Millennials

americanthinker.com } ~ Here is an excerpt from an email from a misinformed white millennial: Mr Marcus, as a black man, if you don't agree in part with Mr. Kaepernick, I feel bad for you... I am white, and feel that the issues facing the black community in the US from the police, legal elements, property, education are skewed, and need to be rectified. I am concerned that someone with your pulpit isn't out there helping out. I usually receive emails from progressives who call me an Uncle Tom stupid n***** for loving my country and not viewing myself as a victim. This well-intentioned young emailer is infected with anti-Americanism via public education and casual contact with Democrats, Hollywood, social media, and fake news media. He is a prime candidate for recruitment into a terrorist hate group like Antifa. Everything he thinks he knows is wrong. For example: Blacks are not persecuted by police. Research data confirms that police are the greatest defenders of black lives. A Harvard study said there is zero evidence of police racial bias. The greatest threat to black lives are black criminals. Haters of America and Trump had a cow, accusing Trump of racism, for daring to tweet the ugly truth about Baltimore which is a hellhole of crime and record black-on-black homicides. I praise God for our president's courage. Trump is making Democrats accountable for the pain, suffering, and lawlessness in cities they have controlled for decades. I say, “Right on, brother Trump. Right on!”...

Israel launched two F-35 attacks on

jpost.com } ~ The IAF used its F-35i stealth fighter jets to hit two Iraqi bases that were used by Iranian forces and proxies and for storing ballistic missiles... the London-based Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Tuesday. The first attack happened on July 19 at a base in Amerli in the Saladin province north of Baghdad. Iraqi and Iranian sources blamed Israel at the time, and Asharq Al-Awsat reported that “diplomatic sources” confirmed the attack, specifying that it was carried out by an Israeli F-35.  Al Arabiya television news reported that Iranian-made ballistic missiles were transported to the base shortly before the attack via trucks used to transport refrigerated food. The identity of the aircraft which conducted the attack was unspecified at the time, and the US denied any involvement. Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Hezbollah members were killed in the airstrike, according to Al Arabiya. However, the Iranian-backed al-Hashd ash-Sha’abi (Popular Mobilization Forces) denied that any Iranians were killed, according to Fars News Agency. A source from the IRGC told the Kuwaiti Al-Jarida newspaper that preliminary investigations indicate that Israel was behind the attack. An Israeli drone launched from a US base in Syria attacked the base, which stored short- and medium-range missiles. The IRGC reached this conclusion because the type of missile that hit the camp is the same used by the IAF in attacks on Syria. Asharq Al-Awsat also reported that a second attack by Israel on Sunday on a base in Ashraf, northeast of Baghdad, had targeted Iranian advisers who were present at the base and a shipment of ballistic missiles that had just arrived from Iran...  https://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/Israel-expanding-attacks-against-Iranians-in-Syria-and-Iraq-report-597128

thefederalist.com } ~ With each passing week, the tally of Iranian provocations that feed fears that the Middle East is on the brink of war continues to grow... Iran’s firing of a middle-range missile in violation of a United Nations Security Council resolution and its seizure of a British-flagged oil tanker came after a series of other incidents, including the shooting down of an American drone and sabotage of other shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump’s critics have depicted these actions as the inevitable result of his policies. Trump’s withdrawal of the United States from the Iran nuclear deal and the imposition of crippling sanctions on the Islamist regime has, according to his critics in the foreign policy establishment and the media, left Tehran no choice but to strike back in the hope that Western European nations and some of Trump’s more isolationist-minded supporters will persuade him to step back from the brink. These incidents have made headlines and increased worries that the United States and its allies may be forced at some point to respond with force that could escalate the conflict in a way that neither side anticipates. But the more important storyline involving Iran may be happening in plain sight without getting the same attention. Iran’s hostile actions in the Persian Gulf are hardly surprising for the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. But while Tehran flexes its muscles, it has also been sending strong signals of a very different character to the West. Recent meetings between Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and a number of Western figures, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), are unmistakable signs that Tehran is looking for a way out of the current impasse with the United States. Far from demonstrating confidence that it can intimidate the Trump administration or force its European trading partners to undermine the American sanctions campaign aimed at forcing Iran to renegotiate the nuclear pact, the opposite is true. Both Iran’s campaign of provocations and its attempts at diplomatic outreach provide ample evidence it knows that, sooner or later, it must negotiate with Trump. Even more to the point, Tehran’s attempts to bluff the Europeans into defying the United States and Zarif’s charm offensive  aimed at the administration show that Trump’s mix of tough sanctions and refusal to be goaded into the use of force against Iran are working...

Trump Wins Two Key Border Victories

Nate Jackson:  It’s not often President Donald Trump secures a judicial win on the issue of immigration. But the Supreme Court ruled Friday that Trump can use military funds to expand the border barrier. The Wall Street Journal reports, “In a 5-4 decision, the justices of the U.S. high court said President Trump can shift about $2.5 billion in military funds to construct an additional 100 miles of wall at the U.S.-Mexico border in an effort to seal off the U.S. from illegal immigration.”

In February, Trump declared the border crisis a national emergency, which included an executive move to shift available Pentagon funds to build a border barrier, which we’d argue is a legitimate way to address a crisis of national security. The ecofascist Sierra Club and its allies immediately sued to stop him, alleging that a wall would infringe on “recreational and aesthetic interests” like “hiking, birdwatching, [and] photography.” They prevailed at every level until Friday.

Left unsettled, however, is the question of the president’s authority. The Supreme Court has yet to rule on the lawsuit filed by House Democrats seeking to block the funding on the grounds that Congress has specifically declined to authorize this barrier money.

House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi groused, “For months, the President has sought to undermine our military readiness and steal from our men and women in uniform to waste billions on a wasteful, ineffective wall that Congress on a bipartisan basis has repeatedly refused to fund. The Supreme Court’s decision tonight to allow President Trump to defy the bipartisan will of the Congress and proceed with contracts to spend billions of dollars on his wall undermines the Constitution and the law.”

Congress has indeed been derelict in its duty to secure America’s borders, and both parties are guilty. But Democrats undermine military readiness at every opportunity, along with promising “free” stuff to the migrants who can make it across our borders illegally. Moreover, they’ve effectively surrendered any right to talk about defending the Constitution and Rule of Law. It is certainly true that the office of the president has taken too much power, but it is also true that Congress has deliberately ceded that authority because its members are more concerned with reelection than with their constitutional duties.

Trump’s second victory Friday was regarding asylum. The Washington Times reports, “President Trump inked a deal with Guatemala on Friday to crack down on migrants who cross that country’s territory en route to the U.S. to claim asylum, with Guatemala’s government agreeing to take them back.” That means primarily Hondurans and Salvadorans would be required to first seek asylum in Guatemala or Mexico before proceeding to the U.S. Guatemalans are not affected by the deal, though more of them are crossing the U.S. border than any other nationality.

The deal is similar to an agreement with Mexico that is working quite well to stem the tide of Central Americans overrunning the U.S. border, often with bogus claims of asylum.  ~The Patriot Post
