Voting Cruz: Has God Abandoned America?

GAY PRIDE 1As Cruz-mania skyrockets exciting millions, I still get emails from professed Christians ripping me to shreds for choosing Cruz over Trump. These anti-Cruz Christians dig deep, coming up with reasons so weak not to choose Cruz that they equal saying Cruz took another kid's candy when he was seven. Then, they fall back on rehashing Cruz's eligibility.Frankly, anti-Cruz Christians have me scratching my head. Clearly, these Christians are willing to overlook all of Mr. Trump's shortcomings, anti-Christian political positions and liberal leanings.Meanwhile, they “passionately” leave no stone unturned, relentless in their attempts to discredit and disqualify the only presidential candidate with a proven record of faithfully standing up for Godly principles and values. What is up with that?A highly respected theologian used Romans 1:18-32 as the text for his sermon. The verses speak of people so stubborn and in love with their sin that God turned His back on them; giving them over to reprobate minds. The theologian asserts that our nation has become so evil that God has turned His back, abandoning America. Unarguably, wickedness is reigning supreme, unchallenged everywhere you look in America. Religious freedom in America is under assault like never before; Christians jailed for not embracing behaviors which God calls abominations.Romans 1:18-32 not only condemns certain behaviors, it expresses God's wrath against those who “approve of those who practice them.” I thought, “Whoa, by demanding that believers speak approvingly of what God calls sin, government is mandating that Christians defy God, subjecting themselves to His wrath.” Could you imagine a day would come in America when Christians would be persecuted for not placing government's authority above God's?God calls Christians to be salt; to make a difference in our world. Sadly, far too many churches are silent regarding sin, afraid of financial loss and federal government retaliation. Some churches tolerate everything in the name of love. “...if the salt loses its is no longer good for anything...” Matthew 5:13.Then there are Christians who believe we have already lost America's culture war, causing them to concede social issues. They ignore their selected presidential candidate praising and supporting Planned Parenthood; exposed as a dead-baby-body-parts-chop-shop for profit; intact heads selling at a premium. These Christians are willing to turn a blind eye to PP's horrors; put the issue of Americans killing over 3,000 babies per day on the back burner. Yeah, that's what Jesus would do.Cruz is the only GOP presidential contender who believes social issues are a priority; vital to who we are as a nation.Ted Cruz has a long history of defending religious liberty on numerous occasions including defeating atheists who sued to tear down a cross from a veterans' memorial.Decades of allowing the anti-Christian movement to go unchallenged has many Americans flat-out afraid of having a man of God in the Oval Office. Countless movies and TV shows portray Christians as over-the-top fanatics, haters and whackos.Ironically, America was founded upon a foundation of Christian principles and values, which have made America great and exceptional. Flipping through TV channels confirms how far off-the-rails our nation has fallen pride ChicagoAnti-Christian zealots, typically liberals, love to point out the shortcomings of those professing Christianity. Liberals despise behavioral standards of morality, which explains their visceral hatred for Christianity. Liberals absurdly claim that unless you can walk-on-water, you have no right to espouse behavioral standards.Well, Christianity “ain't” about being perfect or doing enough good works to outweigh one's bad. Christianity is about repentance and totally trusting Jesus to get into heaven. Surrendering one's life to Christ gives them a heart for God. They desire and strive to do the right thing, though they fail repeatedly. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41Ted Cruz does not profess perfection. The man was wise enough to realize that he is a sinner in need of a savior, Jesus. He surrendered his life to Christ. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10History chronicles that people have suffered severely when ruled by leaders who believe there is no power above theirs. “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2

Another liberal position has me scratching my head. Islamist believe their faith permits them to kill a disobedient wife and behead homosexuals. Islam advocates violence against non-believers (infidels).

Fight those who believe not in Allah...” Qur'an 9:29And yet, liberals passionately defend and protect Muslims while throwing everything including the kitchen sink at Christians; claiming that Christianity is the archenemy of women and homosexuals. Christianity says, “...with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3What is up with liberals' not seeing the obvious contrast between the religion they hate and the one they demand that Americans respect? Obama's DOJ vows to jail anyone speaking badly about Islam.

I am voting for Ted Cruz, the only candidate I know will fight the Left's relentless insidious quest to turn our nation away from God. I pray that the theologian's scary sermon is wrong; that it is not too late – that God has not abandoned America.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14God bless, LloydLloyd Marcus, The Unhyphenated AmericanChairman: The Conservative Campaign

Misrepresenting drumpf? What exactly has he misrepresented? trump University? The University that actually is NOT a University?  The one that had a D- rating by the BBB yet trump says it has a very HIGH rating?  Reason, not in business anymore and has a new rating only by proxy.  The trump that says he’s Pro-Life yet wants his SISTER appointed to SCOTUS when she’s fought for abortions and is an ardent believer in this?  The fact that he has NO clue about standard policies yet comes off like he KNOWS about these?  The trump that says he can “work a better deal” with Israel and the surrounding countries to guarantee their safety?  The SAME ones that have in their bylaws the DESTRUCTION of Israel.  And, lest we forget, do we negotiate with terrorists?  The same trump that wants to implement trade tariffs?  You know, like the ones in 1930, Smoot-Hawley, that made the depression the GREAT depression?  The SAME trump that wants to manufacture more here in America yet has ALL his crap manufactured overseas?

I am JUST as pissed as you.  I am JUST as fearful of hillary.  I am JUST as disgusted with the RINO’s that have, in MY opinion, done more damage to this country than ALL the democrats combined.  The progressive nature in this country, larger government and more regulations JUST to make things more fair has completely turned us on our heads.  So, MY question to YOU is, why do you back one?  Changing parties every few years, funding MANY democrats.  And, by the way, funding John Boehner’s, Mitch McConnell’s and Karl Rove’s PAC’s, to the tune of $220,000 in 2013 AND 2014 to DESTROY THE TEA PARTY.  Isn’t this the site where Tea Party members come to talk?  Isn’t this the Tea Party site? Yet, you people want to back this clown, this infidel, this charlatan, this carnival huckster that you cannot see through.

To make this PERFECTLY clear, I am a Never Trump person.  Is Cruz the “perfect candidate?” No, there will NEVER be one. But, in comparison to the cheeto dusted, megalomaniacal, narcissistic progressive liberal from New York, he’s a FAR better choice.  I would MUCH rather have a man “too close to God” than to have one “too close to satan.”

  • That was indeed quite a 'sermon' but as a Christian, I am not voting for a Pastor-in-Chief. How wonderful if the candidate shared my values, but America, so steeped in the culture and values of the Sexual Revolution ,needs more than a new candidate to turn the tide.It starts with each individual.

Using God to help win an election in my way of thinking is not a sensible thing to do; be what you are and let others see your humanity, etc.  Cruz does not have to display an in-your-face kind of religiosity and were he to be more deeply steeped in those Christian values he claims to possess, he would not campaign by misrepresenting Trump. He's become shrill, and he's not as good at it as Trump is!  He lacks  the self-deprecating humor. And I cannot remember Ted Cruz standing up on the senate floor defending the unborn - only as it has become a campaign issue  is it important to him.  Otherwise, the killing goes on and few seem interested enough to tackle the issue head on. But it can and will be time.

Even if Cruz could recite the Bible word for word it would not necessarily endow him with more integrity than, say, Donald Trump.  Only God can examine a man's heart; we have to depend upon a man's word, and that's not always easy. Cruz talks a great game; Donald just builds it.
