42 arrested in Sunday border swarm, 

but others snuck past US agents

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ The chief of U.S. Border Patrol for the San Diego, Calif., region said Monday that 42 people who charged at and attempted to illegally enter the U.S. from Mexico on Sunday were arrested... but many others were able to evade federal law enforcement. "We ended up making about 42 arrests. Only eight of those were females, and there were only a few children involved. The vast majority of those were adult males," Border Patrol San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodney S. Scott said on CNN Monday morning."To be completely frank, there were numerous people that actually made it across the border," Scott said. "We’re in the process of building a new border wall here but we don't have it completed. There were some sections that had dilapidated border wall that was made out of scrap metal the military gave us. The group breached a couple sections of that, actually tore down one small section, and started to rush across. And that’s the time they started assaulting our agents, and we were able to hold them back using riot techniques." U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which is in charge of all port activity, closed down the San Ysidro port of entry late Sunday morning local time as hundreds of migrants who traveled from Central America as part of a caravan attempted to storm the border and pass through less-secured parts of the fence, which is in the process of being swapped out for a taller wall...

Hundreds of migrants rush California port of entry

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Hundreds of Central American migrants desperately seeking asylum in the U.S. rushed a port of entry between Tijuana and San Diego, Calif., on Sunday... prompting a temporary shutdown of the border crossing. The migrant group, which included children and the elderly, were caught on video and photos posted to social media crossing a footbridge over a canal after bypassing a Mexican police blockade. Some made it all the way up to the fence where they chanted, "Yes we can." Sunday's events were a culmination of a worsening situation for the thousands of migrants, who arrived in Tijuana in so-called caravans and were packed into shelters, just two days after the mayor of the city of 1.3 million declared a "humanitarian crisis." In response to the migrants, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced that all car traffic lanes at the San Ysidro port of entry had been suspended, as were pedestrian crossings. Mexico also shut off traffic from the U.S. With military helicopters flying above, U.S. border agents fired tear gas at migrants as some people who tried to break through the border fence...

No, The Trump Tax Cuts Did Not All Go To “The Rich”

{bongino.com} ~ It’s inevitable in any debate over tax cuts that you’ll run into the cliche that they’re only “for the rich,”... and that’s certainly been the case when it comes to Donald Trump’s recent tax reform package. Such an argument can be made against any across-the-board tax cut, even when lower income brackets are cut more than top income tax brackets. After all, a 1% tax cut is going to save a millionaire more money than a 50% tax cut is going to save for a poor person, even if the poor person benefits more relative to their current wealth. The Trump tax cuts composed of both corporate tax reform cutting the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%, and across the board cuts to individual income tax brackets. Below is the percentage point decline for each bracket. Also note that $5,650 increase in the standard deduction. Claims that the Trump tax cuts go mostly to the “top 1%” are commonplace. Democratic Policy and Communications Committee co-chair David Cicilline claims that “80%” of the Trump tax cuts go to “corporations and the top 1%.” sick-Nancy Pulosi has claimed that 83% of the Trump tax cuts went to the top 1%...

UN Fury Over Trump Protecting 

Americans From Thieves

The Fake News Media does not refer to the recent UN vote in the same manner as does this column... Instead they reported (gloated) that: “UN voted overwhelmingly to condemn US embargo of Cuba….In a slap to the United States, the U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution Thursday condemning the American economic embargo of Cuba and rejected proposed U.S. amendments strongly criticizing the lack of human rights in the island country.” The occasion was the annual and ritual UN vote against the U.S. “embargo” of mass-murdering, mass-torturing, terror-sponsoring and kleptocratic Cuba, which sits prominently on the UN Human Rights Council! For genuinely judicious people, this should reveal all they need to know about the UN. This mild incongruity, shall we say, did not go unnoticed by Ambassador Nikki Haley, who promptly fired back at that assembly of frauds and hypocrites, essentially by quoting the late Tom Petty: “The United Nations does not have the ability or the authority to end the United States’ embargo of Cuba….Our reason for the embargo is and has always been Cuba’s denial of freedom and the denial of the most basic human rights for the Cuban people. The United States will continue to stand with the Cuban people until their rights and their freedoms are restored. Period…We won’t back down." Roberts Challenges Trump and Gets It Wrong

by Political Editors:  Just before Thanksgiving, Chief Justice John Roberts squared off with President Donald Trump in a war of words over the judiciary. After a Barack scumbag/liar-nObama-appointed judge blocked Trump’s order regarding asylum for illegal aliens, Trump griped, “This was an  scumbag/liar-nObama judge.” That’s typical for Trump — and accurate in this case.

             But Roberts is a staunch defender of an “independent” judiciary, and he just couldn’t let it pass without comment. In a rare political statement, Roberts declared, “We do not have scumbag/liar-nObama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or scumbag/liar-Clinton judges. What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level best to do equal right to those appearing before them.”
               “I wish Chief Justice Roberts were right,” asserted Rep. Trey Gowdy. “I wish there were not a politicization of the judiciary.”
               As much as we too wish Roberts was right as the Founders intended, the modern judiciary is a political animal primarily because Democrat-appointed judges interpret the law not as written but according to a “living Constitution.” Trump was right in his reply: “Sorry Chief Justice John Roberts, but you do indeed have ‘scumbag/liar-nObama judges,’ and they have a much different point of view than the people who are charged with the safety of our country.”
               Perhaps Roberts thinks he’s right because he, an appointee of George W. Bush, cast the deciding vote to find  scumbag/liar-nObamaCare constitutional. But even that illustrates precisely why he’s wrong because Roberts went out of this way to rewrite the law so as to find it “constitutional.” It’s true that Trump’s losses have come at the hands of judges appointed by various presidents, not just scumbag/liar-nObama, but sometimes those rulings are blocking him from undoing what  scumbag/liar-nObama did — as if scumbag/liar-nObama’s executive orders were part of the Constitution and Trump’s decision to undo them was thus by definition unconstitutional. A ruling earlier this month on DACA comes to mind.
               On a final note, if Roberts was correct, why did so many conservatives vote for Trump because of the judiciary? Why did Democrats filibuster Neil Gorsuch and then do their “level best” to character assassinate Brett Kavanaugh? And why won’t a seriously ailing Ruth Bader Ginsburg retire now rather than wait for a Democrat president?  ~The Patriot Post
