Netanyahu to Gantz: Gov't With
Arab List Slap in Face of IDF Soldiers
{ jpost.com } ~ Forming a minority coalition with the Joint List would be a slap in the face to IDF soldiers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said... in a message to Blue and White leader Benny Gantz in his address to a conference held by the Makor Rishon weekly on Monday.  Netanyahu called on Gantz to drop the “insane” and “dangerous” idea and form a national unity government with Likud, instead. “Benny, you were the IDF chief of staff during Operation Protective Edge. We ran that operation together. We sent soldiers into battle,” Netanyahu recounted. “Do you remember what Joint List MK Ahmed Tibi did during the operation? He read the names of terrorists killed in Gaza from the stage of the Knesset. He said that the IDF is committing war crimes…In a campaign video, they said ‘Gantz, there is blood on your hands.’” Blue and White is considering building a minority coalition of 44 or 52 seats, with outside support from the Joint List. However, the faction is divided, with its MKs on the right opposing the move, because the Joint List is an anti-Zionist party. Netanyahu said a government that depends on Tibi and Joint List leader Ayman Odeh is a “slap in the face of the IDF soldiers who we sent into battle together.” “Those are the people with whom you want to form a government?... It’s unbelievable,” Netanyahu said, calling the idea “insane” and saying the Joint List “doesn’t recognize the state’s right to exist.” In the same vein, Netanyahu later responded to a remark by Yisrael Beytenu Avigdor Liberman that there is no greater disaster than a third election in less than a year: “There is a greater disaster, and it is a minority government that is dependent on the Arab parties. Blue and White's spokesman said: "Netanyahu, we don't need lessons from you in patriotism and loving the nation and the people. The citizens of Israel will not forgive you if you drag us to another expensive and unnecessary because of your legal situation." Tibi called Netanyahu "Mr. Pinnochio," accusing him of incitement, and said that he read the names of women and children killed in the operation...  https://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Netanyahu-to-Gantz-Minority-gov-that-supports-terror-not-even-one-day-607527
scumbag-Schiff: We Don’t Need
 No Stinking Whistleblower
{ spectator.org } ~ When House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi announced that the Democrats would launch an “official impeachment inquiry,” she said this action had been made necessary by a whistleblower complaint... concerning a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Madam Speaker used the term “whistleblower” no fewer than eight times in her five-minute statement. Saturday, however, we learned that the anonymous individual whose complaint loomed so large in the speaker’s decision to launch the investigation will not be permitted to testify before Congress. House Intelligence Chairman scumbag-Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), whom liar-Pelosi assigned to lead the inquiry, announced that the whistleblower’s testimony would be “redundant.” Chairman scumbag-Schiff’s relegation of the whistleblower to the realm of redundancy was revealed in a letter to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the Intelligence Committee, in response to a witness request that included him in a list of individuals the Republicans want to question. The House  resolution that formalized the rules of the investigation allows them to call witnesses, but it also gives scumbag-Schiff veto power, which he exercised in this case. There is, however, no legitimate reason to deny the minority party access to this witness. No honest chairman of an impeachment inquiry would prevent the Republicans from questioning the very person whose complaint launched the inquiry. Sunday morning, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham put it bluntly: I consider any impeachment in the House that doesn’t allow us to know who the whistleblower is to be invalid because without the whistleblower complaint we wouldn’t be talking about any of this.… It’s impossible to bring this case forward, in my view, fairly without us knowing who the whistleblower is and having a chance to cross-examine them about any biases they may have. So if they don’t call the whistleblower in the House, this thing is dead on arrival in the Senate.… This is not about scumbag-Schiff finding the truth, this is about scumbag-Schiff trying to destroy the Trump presidency. Sen. Graham’s point is particularly poignant considering that restricting access to the whistleblower constitutes a vertigo-inducing volte-face by scumbag-Schiff concerning the testimony of this mysterious individual and its importance to the inquiry. As recently as late September, scumbag-Schiff insisted that the testimony of this person was definitely part of the plan and would be forthcoming very soon: “We’ll get the unfiltered testimony of that whistleblower … We are taking all the precautions” to protect his identity. During a very contentious September hearing with Joseph Maguire, director of national intelligence, scumbag-Schiff demanded a firm commitment from the director that the whistleblower be permitted by the Trump administration to testify...   https://spectator.org/schiff-we-dont-need-no-stinking-whistleblower/?utm_source=American%20Spectator%20Emails&utm_campaign=c1085496cd-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_11_11_02_55&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-c1085496cd-104608113
'Still there': White House denies Vindman
fired in retribution for Ukraine testimony
by Daniel Chaitin
{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman expects to serve out the remainder of his time on the National Security Council, according to his attorney... "He is still there," White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham also confirmed to the Washington Examiner. Multiple reports Sunday claimed Vindman, who gave sworn testimony for the House impeachment effort against President Trump, would be removed from the National Security Council. These reports hinged on a Face the Nation interview on CBS in which national security adviser Robert O'Brien was asked if Vindman would remain on the National Security Council after testifying against the president. O'Brien said, "Everyone who's detailed at the NSC, people are going ... back to their own departments, and we'll bring in new folks." Afterward, the Twitter account for Face the Nation blared, "VINDMAN OUT AT NSC: After testifying on the Hill, NSA O'Brien says Alexander Vindman will be removed from the National Security Council." Other outlets followed suit with similar reports, and verified Twitter users with hundreds of thousands of followers announced that Vindman had been fired. But Vindman's lawyer, Michael Volkov, dismissed anything out of the ordinary was being done to his client. Volkov told CBS News that Vindman “still has a job — his detail ends in July 2020."“Vindman is still detailed to NSC. We are not aware of any changes in his status. Obviously any retaliatory action against LTC Vindman on a day when we honor our military heroes would be reprehensible," he added, referring to Veterans Day... It would be Reprehensible to lie about our President.   https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/still-there-vindman-not-removed-from-national-security-council-despite-alarm-over-vengeful-firing?utm_source=breaking_push&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=push_notifications&utm_source=WEX_News%20Brief_11/11/2019&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WEX_News%20Brief&rid=5261
Son of Terrorist Leftist Radicals
Wins San Francisco Election
by libertyheadlines.com ~ Chesa Boudin, the son of the Weather Underground terrorists sent to prison for murder when he was a toddler, has won San Francisco‘s tightly contested race for district attorney... after campaigning to reform the criminal justice system. The former deputy public defender declared victory Saturday night after four days of ballot counting determined he was ahead of interim District Attorney Suzy Loftus. The latest results from the San Francisco Department of Elections gave Boudin a lead of 8,465 votes. Loftus conceded and said she will work to ensure a smooth and immediate transition. Boudin, 39, became the latest candidate across the nation to win district attorney elections by pushing for sweeping reform over incarceration. He said he wants to tackle racial bias in the criminal justice system, overhaul the bail system, protect immigrants from deportation and pursue accountability in police misconduct cases. “The people of San Francisco have sent a powerful and clear message: It’s time for radical change to how we envision justice,” Boudin said in a statement. “I’m humbled to be a part of this movement that is unwavering in its demand for transformation.” Boudin entered the race as an underdog and captured voters’ attention with his extraordinary life story: He was 14 months old when his parents, who were members of the far-left Weather Underground, dropped him off with a babysitter and took part in an armored car robbery in upstate New York that left two police officers and a security guard dead. His mother, Kathy Boudin, served 22 years behind bars and his father, David Gilbert, may spend the rest of his life in prison. He said that as one of the dozens of people whose lives were shattered by the deadly robbery in 1981, he experienced first-hand the destructive effects of mass incarceration and it motivated him to reform the nation’s broken criminal justice system...  San Fran you have made a big mistake.
Mulvaney Surprises Bolton
Allies With Impeachment Suit
By Jason Devaney
{ newsmax.com } ~ White House officials who worked with former national security adviser John Bolton were frustrated and surprised when White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney signed onto a lawsuit that opposes him and others... close to President Donald Trump cooperating with the impeachment inquiry. The Washington Post reported Sunday, two days after Mulvaney joined the lawsuit through his personal lawyer, that he played a key role in Ukraine policy — which is at the center of the impeachment probe that seeks to uncover whether Trump used his office for political gain by using U.S. military aid to Ukraine as a weapon. The Post said people close to Bolton and his former deputy Charles Kupperman were taken back when news broke that Mulvaney was joining the suit. Bolton, according to the report, sees Mulvaney as having a central role in the military aid situation. The two were hardly speaking to each other when Bolton departed the Trump administration in September, the Post noted. Neither Bolton nor Mulvaney complied with House subpoenas to testify last week as part of the Democrats-run impeachment probe. Bolton has indicated he is willing to talk if the court system compels him to do so. But Mulvaney's decision to join the lawsuit indicates he intends to fight the subpoena on the grounds that a directive from the White House not to testify takes precedence over a subpoena from Congress."As acting chief of staff, Mr. Mulvaney intends to follow any lawful order of the president and has no reason to think that the order at issue is unlawful — other than the fact the House has threatened him with charges of contempt and obstruction for following it," Mulvaney's lawyer William Pittard told the Post. Trump reportedly ordered aid to Ukraine held up after asking its president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in July to investigate former U.S. Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden and his son Hunter for corruption. loose lips liar-Biden is one of Trump's main Democrat rivals in the 2020 election.  https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/bolton-mulvaney-trump-impeachment/2019/11/11/id/941032/?ns_mail_uid=62cddd55-241d-495e-8ad9-b8a04d508a36&ns_mail_job=DM66591_11112019&s=acs&dkt_nbr=010502tpsc11
Count on Big Media to
Protect Anti-Trump Sources
{ spectator.org } ~ It’s so precious watching big-name journalists speak of the sanctity of the anonymity of the Ukrainian phone call whistleblower... They say they’re concerned that publishing the whistleblower’s name will discourage other whistleblowers from coming forward. Funny, they didn’t seem to care in 2010 when, thanks to WikiLeaks, diplomatic emails were splayed across front pages and national security officials complained that the leaks hindered their work and spooked worthy allies. If there’s one group that big media will support, it’s anonymous sources who discredit President Donald Trump. Notice how they want to protect a source’s privacy until it becomes a disposable tool to a political end. Like Anita Hill, Christine Blasey Ford was a reluctant witness against now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Her privacy was sacrosanct and vulnerability unassailable — right up until the moment her testimony was needed to destroy Kavanaugh’s reputation. The whistleblower? If House Democrats had needed Whatshisname’s identity to bury Trump in the Ukraine affair, you know they’d have thrown his cloak under the bus in a heartbeat — “for the good of the country.” But Trump made unmasking the whistleblower unnecessary when he released a rough transcript of a July 25 phone conversation during which the president suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dig up dirt on former Vice President loose lips liar-Joe Biden, whose son Hunter was paid the princely sum of about $50,000 a month for his association with a Ukrainian energy company. And so big media outlets keep running stories about the ethics of unmasking the whistleblower rather than unmasking the whistleblower. A profession that prides itself on delivering information to the public without fear or favor is sitting on its hands. And they’re having these debates as Whatshisname’s name is all over social media...
Netanyahu Would Beat Gantz
in Direct PM Election
by jpost.com ~ According to a Channel 13 poll published Sunday, if elections were held today, Blue and White would receive 35 seats compared to 34 for the Likud... Each party would therefore receive two more seats than it did in the September election. The poll indicates that most people 41% would blame Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if there is a third round of elections, while some 31% will blame Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman Only 7% of respondents believe that Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz is to blame for the current impasse; 15% indicated that they do not know who is to blame, and 6% said none of them are to blame. Regarding other parties:  The Joint List would receive 13 seats the same as it has now; Yisrael Beytenu nine up from eight; Shas and United Torah Judaism six each down from nine and seven respectively; Labor-Gesher five down from six; New Right four down from the seven it has now with Bayit Yehudi in Yamina; the Democratic Union four down from five; and the Union of Right-Wing Parties four passing the electoral threshhold, which it didn't do in September. The URP would therefore be the biggest gainer, joining the Knesset with four seats although it includes Bayit Yehudi, which was part of Yamina in the last election. Shas would be the biggest loser, losing three seats: a third of its current strength. There would be little movement in the blocs, with the Center-Left-Arab bloc getting 57 mandates, and the Right-religious bloc receiving 54 mandates. The balance of power still remains in the hands of Yisrael Beytenu with its nine votes. The poll also shows that if direct elections are held for prime minister, Netanyahu would win with about 40% of the vote, and Gantz would be a close second, receiving about 37% of the vote.   https://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Poll-Blue-and-White-biggest-party-Netanyahu-wins-in-direct-election-607462
Has American Capitalism Lost Its Soul?
Brian Mark Weber:  Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) gave a speech this week at the Catholic University of America called “Human Dignity and the Purpose of Capitalism.” In the age of Millennial socialism, his words offer some intriguing food for thought.

He encouraged students to change the way they think about economics and the relationship between corporations and workers, including the goal of ensuring that Americans find dignity in the work they perform and creating what he called “common-good capitalism.” Rubio was critical of socialism and dismissed it as being far worse than capitalism. He warned that the ideas of “free” medical care, “free” college, and a universal basic income are not free but come at a great cost to society.

Yet he didn’t mince words in stating that Republicans have “become defenders of the right of business to make a profit” while “we have neglected the rights of workers to share in the benefits they create for their employer.” Additionally, Rubio expressed compassion for “the people whose lives were turned upside down when companies exercised their right to make a profit by taking their jobs to another country.” Those companies, Rubio asserted, often “did so with little regard with the corresponding duty to invest in their own workers.”

Tobias Hoonhout at National Review reports that Rubio’s remarks emerged from an essay he penned in First Things titled “What Economics is For,” in which he incorporated “ancient philosophy and Catholic social doctrine, particularly the 1891 papal encyclical ‘Rerum Novarum’ by Pope Leo XIII, which articulated the Catholic Church’s response to the Industrial Revolution to find a middle ground between socialism and laissez-faire capitalism. Rubio thinks the same message has relevance today, especially among the youth, who are gravitating to socialism, according to recent polls.”

Rubio has a point. Selling capitalism to young Americans will take more than warning about socialism. Perhaps the fact that capitalism has “lost its soul” is one of the reasons why so many young people are turning against it. Overall, they’re not opposed to making money or to businesses turning a profit, but they don’t see any humanity in today’s corporate world.

The Florida senator is bringing a thoughtful approach to a topic not even on the radar for some conservatives. For too long American businesses have neglected to remember the people who built their companies. They no longer feel a sense of loyalty or obligation to American citizens or the country that enabled such companies to build wealth in the first place. At the same time, restoring ethics to business is not a decision to made by those in government. Socialism would do nothing but take from one group of people and give it to another, while accruing ever-more power in Washington, DC. Obviously, that’s not a good solution for consumers or business owners.

Capitalism unbridled by morals, on the other hand, has other negative consequences.

“Economic stability for working-class families is not a feature of today’s economy,” Rubio wrote in his First Things essay. “Business profits have become increasingly estranged from production and employment. This is mainly driven by large, transnational corporations. Many of these corporations are now using our country’s resources to speculate on financial assets, including their own share prices. Rather than engaging in real production and innovation with workers here at home — the production that delivers widely shared prosperity — they have sought to reduce their domestic labor costs. This strategy is damaging not only the American worker, but also the competitiveness of American industry. We are cutting off the branch on which we sit.”

What’s even more interesting is that Rubio is tying his thinking to the teachings of the Catholic Church. He adds, “The Church emphasizes the moral duty of employers to respect workers not just as means to profit, but as human persons and productive members of their community and nation. The tradition sees past our stale partisan categories and roots our politics in something larger: the inviolable dignity of every human person, the work he or she does, and the family life that work supports.”

To be expected, the senator’s ideas are being criticized  by some on the Left and Right. But let’s give Rubio a little credit. His remarks are refreshing during a time when the debate over economics always comes down to a crass, politicized argument over capitalism versus socialism. There’s no doubt that socialism is destructive for both businesses and individuals, but capitalism that is purely profit-driven and void of what Rubio calls the “common good” can be bad for society as well.

Unfortunately, those on the political Left believe the common good means giving politicians power to exploit businesses and workers in order to manipulate voters. In the end, everyone suffers under this system except the political class. However, Rubio’s idea of “common-good capitalism” deserves more attention in a time when many Americans are dissatisfied with their jobs and working conditions, and whole regions of the country have been gutted by companies moving overseas.

By encouraging businesses to be loyal to the country and the workers that made their success possible, we can restore some of the soul and humanity that Corporate America has lost over the years.
