{theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ There are two distinct narrative angles that are intersecting in the current weekend talk venues. One is the government shutdown and how the resistance is attempting to gain maximum political benefit against the White House... The second is how the larger ‘shutdown narrative‘ is being deployed as cover for revelations within prior testimony showing how the scumbag/liar-nObama DOJ and FBI weaponized against their political opposition. In this regard, the shutdown as planned by Speaker Nancy Pulosi serves a dual purpose; it is helping to construct a larger oppositional narrative while burying a story the MSM are desperate not to cover. The two narratives are intertwined and it would be against the interests of Pulosi, scumbag-Cummings, scumbag-Schiff and scumbag-Nadler, to reach a shutdown agreement. HPSCI Chairman scumbag-Adam Schiff appears after VP Mike Pence on FtN and highlights this intended dual purpose. scumbag-Schiff immediately transfers from the shutdown into a discussion of using Michael Cohen: the two narratives are intertwined. *Note*:  It’s important to remember the democrat strategy is planned out. Oversight Committee  scumbag-Cummings, builds to HPSCI Committee scumbag- Schiff who ultimately leads to Judicary Committee scumbag- Nadler.  scumbag-Jerry Nadler is where they hope to initiate the ‘impeachment‘ angle.

‘Save The Dreamers’: WaPo Implores

{dailycaller.com} ~ House Speaker Nancy Pulosi and congressional Democrats are losing one big voice in their opposition to President Donald Trump’s push for a border wall... The Washington Post’s editorial board. WaPo noted in a Sunday editorial reasons  why Pulosi should rebuke the president’s most recent offer to temporarily extend protections for the so-called Dreamers. But the paper eventually explained that taking the deal would ultimately help those who came here through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. “He should not be rewarded for having taken the government hostage. Any piece of a wall would reinforce his hateful, anti-immigrant rhetoric,” WaPo noted. “He’s unreliable, having made and withdrawn similar offers in the past.” WaPo’s editorial board has criticized Trump in the past for what its writers call pushing immigration policies that would “cripple the economy.” It’s taking a different approach now. Sunday’s editorial explains why young people who came to the U.S. through the scumbag/liar-nObama-era program are in peril of being deported...
The GOP Finally Has a Fighting General

{spectator.org} ~ In November, 1863, the New York Herald reported that a temperance committee had asked President Lincoln to dismiss Ulysses S. Grant... They told him the general was an imbiber of strong spirits, to which Lincoln replied: “I wish you would tell me the brand of Whiskey Grant drinks. I would like to send a barrel to my other generals.” This story is probably apocryphal, but it captures the contempt with which the socially awkward Grant was viewed by the eastern establishment. This came to mind when I read the following about President Trump by a little old lady named George Will: By his comportment, the president benefits his media detractors with serial vindications of their disparagements.… For most Americans, President Trump’s expostulations are audible wallpaper, always there but not really noticed.… And as balm for his base, which remains oblivious to his likely contempt for them as sheep who can be effortlessly gulled by preposterous fictions. Will contends that Trump’s “deportment” is what drives the abuse and lies to which the President is subjected by the frauds of the Fourth Estate. Likewise, Grant’s exaggerated drinking was an excuse the northern press employed to denounce his tactics during the Civil War, as well as the necessity, when he was President, to keep troops stationed in the southern states. Will, in his dotage, has evidently forgotten that the media has relentlessly savaged any and all Republicans. To blame Trump for his treatment by CNN, MSNBC, et al. is like blaming a woman for her own rape. Fortunately, Lincoln wasn’t stupid enough to listen to newspaper publishers or the temperance committees. He needed a “fighting general” to replace strangely inert commanders like George B. McClellan and Henry Halleck. By the time Lincoln lost patience with these dawdlers, Grant had won important victories at Forts Henry and Donelson. Soon he would also capture the crucial town of Vicksburg. Halleck was so jealous of Grant that he launched a campaign to undermine Grant’s credibility in Washington sound familiar?. But Lincoln wanted battlefield victories rather than Washington gossip...  https://spectator.org/the-gop-finally-has-a-fighting-general/?utm_source=American+Spectator+Emails&utm_campaign=3c1b8b43b8-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_21_11_06&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-3c1b8b43b8-104608113

{theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ An important interview between Judiciary Committee member John Ratcliffe (R – TX) as he discusses the likely motive behind why dirty cop-Mueller decided to talk out against the Buzzfeed report... Representative Ratcliffe points to the testimony of AG nominee William Barr as the annoying pebble that made dirty cop-Mueller’s team stop to shake out their shoe. Additionally, in an outline to highlight the corrupt abuse of the Rosenstein/dirty cop-Mueller probe, Ratcliffe outlines Bruce Ohr’s testimony and exposes a larger issue: if dirty cop-Mueller was honorable, when he became aware of the scheme he would have dropped his inquiry. Fox News did not post the second part of that interview. SOTU and Shutdown — Options for January 29

{spectator.org} ~ On January 30, 2018, President Trump delivered a State of the Union message that was extremely well received by the American people... whatever their party affiliation, and very poorly received by the Democrat members of the Senate and House. How well was it received by the people? It was the highest-rated presidential address in the history of cable news. A CBS instant poll showed: 97% of Republicans liked it; 72% of independents; and 43% of Democrats. 80% stated they believed the President was trying to unite the country rather than divide it. When the TV cameras panned the audience, the Democrats, as Wayne Allyn Root observed in his report, “The Night the Democratic Party Committed Political Suicide,” “frowned, grimaced, groaned and looked sick to their stomachs” when they heard the President report on huge job creation over the year, jobs in manufacturing, jobs in construction, lowest employment ever among African Americans, lowest employment ever among Hispanics, lowest employment in 18 years for women. “Democrats were outed as the party that is rooting for America’s failure.” The Democrats were so anti-Trump, they evidenced no sympathy for a couple in the gallery who were victims of MS-13 gang violence — the murder of an American in their own country by illegal aliens. For all their talk, Democrats don’t care about “safe spaces.” It is little wonder, then, that, as soon as President Trump concluded his speech, the Democrats fell over themselves as they ran for the exits. And it is little wonder that newly elected Speaker of the House Nancy Pulosi wanted to find a reason for Democrats to avoid having to listen to President Trump deliver another State of the Union this year, on January 29, when he would list his achievements, one after another for an hour, during his second year in office. If I can adapt a line from Col. Nathan R. Jessup in the movie A Few Good Men (1992) and direct it to the Democrats: “You can’t handle the truth!”...  https://spectator.org/sotu-and-shutdown-options-for-january-29/?utm_source=American+Spectator+Emails&utm_campaign=3c1b8b43b8-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_21_11_06&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-3c1b8b43b8-104608113

by Political Editors:  Congressional Democrats rolled out their latest vote-fishing and yet economy-crippling legislative proposal Wednesday — a nationwide minimum wage of $15 an hour to be fully implemented by 2024. With the announcement, Speaker Nancy Pulosi opined, “A $15 federal minimum wage affirms the bedrock idea of fairness in our country: that hard work deserves a decent wage.”

Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA) declared, “When we put money in the pockets of American workers, they spend that money in their communities. So this bill will stimulate the economy on main street.” Scott failed to elaborate on who the “we” is that he’s referring to, but it’s a good bet he wasn’t talking about business owners who pay wages. Instead, he was no doubt referencing himself and Democrats, given the party’s long history of believing that the government, not private citizens working in a free-market economy, is responsible for producing wealth.
Naturally, socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders voiced his support for the Demo legislation: “We are living today in an American economy that is doing very well for the people on top. Not so well for working families.” Clearly, Sanders has been ignoring the reality on the ground, as both jobs numbers as well as wages have been rising precisely because taxes have been cut for everyone and government has gotten out of the way. Funny how the government taking less of people’s hard-earned money actually works to stimulate more economic growth, as opposed to any government-run wealth-redistribution scheme. But admitting that reality would be self-defeating for Democrats, who believe that government’s job is to control everyone.
Speaking of controlling, Prof. David Macpherson, chairman of Trinity University’s economics department,  found that, based on the Congressional Budget Office methodology, implementing a federal $15 minimum wage would lead to the loss of two million jobs, with small businesses suffering the most. In fact, those who would be most negatively affected by the minimum wage hike would be the poor and the young. In other words, it would do exactly the opposite of what Democrats are currently claiming. It would also serve to slow much of the economic progress the nation has experienced under a particular president they detest so much.  ~The Patriot Post
