GOP leadership considers moving Jim Jordan

The Ohio Republican could temporarily be assigned to the panel as a strategic move by House GOP leadership ahead of impending public hearings in the impeachment inquiry of President Trump, CBS News reported. Top House Republicans have been having “active and serious” discussions about adding Jordan, who is currently the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, to the Intelligence Committee, a senior Republican source told CBS News. Jordan is considered a strong defender of the president and a great choice to counter Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff, the California Democrat who is leading the impeachment inquiry as chairman of the Intelligence Committee. Republican questioning of witnesses in the closed-door depositions has been largely led by Jordan’s chief investigative counsel on the House Oversight Committee, Steve Castor. Jordan has effectively been leading GOP efforts in the impeachment proceedings so far where three committees have held closed-door hearings. A fierce critic of scumbag-Schiff and Democrats running the impeachment proceedings, Jordan would be blocked from participating in any public hearings the Intelligence Committee will soon be conducting due to the House resolution passed last week. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy reserves discretion in making Intelligence Committee assignments but would have to move another member out in order to make a spot for Jordan. The change could appear as a lack of confidence in GOP ranking member of the Committee, Rep. Trump calls for 'war' against Mexican drug

{ foxnews.com } ~ President Trump on Tuesday offered U.S. assistance as he called on Mexico to “wage war” against the country's murderous drug cartel “monsters”... in response to the brutal killing of multiple Americans a day earlier. “If Mexico needs or requests help in cleaning out these monsters, the United States stands ready, willing & able to get involved and do the job quickly and effectively,” Trump tweeted. “The great new President of Mexico has made this a big issue, but the cartels have become so large and powerful that you sometimes need an army to defeat an army!” Officials say at least six children and three women, apparently all U.S. citizens living in a community of Americans in Mexico, were gunned down after their convoy came under fire during a daylight ambush Monday. Six children were found alive, five of whom have been taken to hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. One child is currently missing, and authorities are searching the mountainous area on the Sonora-Chihuahua border for the child. Those attacked were members of the LeBaron family, a well-known American clan who has lived in the community in the northern part of the country for decades, according to The New York Times. The attack targeted citizens who live in a community founded as part of an offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth," Trump tweeted. "We merely await a call from your great new president! "President Andrés Manuel López Obrador refused that approach, however, saying at a Tuesday news conference, "The worst thing you can have is war." "We declared war, and it didn't work," Lopez Obrador said, referring to the policies of previous administrations. "That is not an option." A Corrupt Resolution's Damning Consequences

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ November, the month signaling the approach of winter, brings the American public the promise of a bitter, dishonest, political spectacle... casting a poisonous gloom over the traditional winter holidays celebrating faith and family. Worse -- the long-term consequences may irreparably damage our constitutional republic. House Resolution 660 is a false and maliciously dishonest legislative maneuver by Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi, intended retroactively to inoculate Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff (D-CA), et al. from their earlier "inquiry" abuses, and possible criminality. Criminality? Yes -- abuse of power on a grand scale, as well as the violation of individual rights and constitutional due process guarantees can be criminal. Speaker liar-Pelosi's unilateral declaration on September 24, 2019, of an "official inquiry," now bears the phony, partisan imprimatur of the House of Representatives, by a slim margin of 232-196. We are not witnessing a legitimate impeachment process, and certainly not any form of justice recognizable in America since the Massachusetts Spring of 1693. Let's examine the particular dishonest elements of liar-Pelosi's "Open and transparent investigative proceedings by the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence" -- that's Section 2 of her Resolution. scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, decides "witness testimony relevant to the investigation." scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls subpoena authority. scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls record production and evidence designation. scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls written interrogatories. scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls the outcome of Minority referrals to the Committee for reconsideration. scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls all transcripts, to include: release, redactions and edits. scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls "custody of records or other materials relating to the inquiry." scumbag-Schiff, unilaterally, controls the final report. "Open and transparent" -- right. I have written previously of the scumbag-Schiff committee's "Star Chamber" characteristics and activities. Now, with House Resolution 660, the aberration is the norm. Interestingly, opposition to the resolution was bipartisan: Two Democrats -- Van Drew (NJ) and Peterson (MN) -- joined all the Republicans and voted "No". With liar-Pelosi's slim 36-vote margin of "victory", the House of Representatives has engaged and enacted the odious philosophical principles of Legal Positivism -- the perversion antithetical to the Founders' Natural Law foundations in our Constitution. Legal Positivism gives us: "We say it's legal, so it is." Think about the historical lessons of that mephitic mentality. How does that end?... { jpost.com } ~ The Republican Jewish Coalition launched a $10 million campaign — an unprecedented amount in partisan Jewish advertising... with online ads depicting 2020 Democratic presidential candidates as a “disgrace.” Videos titled “Shanda,” Yiddish for “disgrace,” blast the Democrats for saying they would consider reducing aid to Israel. “The radical Left has taken the reins of the Democratic Party, and their policy proposals will devastate our national security, our alliance with Israel, our economy, and our health care system,” Matt Brooks, the RJC’s executive director, said in a statement announcing the release of the 15- to 30-second ads. The placement of the videos on Facebook, YouTube and other media will cost $50,000. Brooks confirmed to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency a report in Axios that the RJC had budgeted $10 million for its 2020 efforts. Brooks explained that the ad is a first in a multi-million-dollar effort to reelect Trump and other Republicans in Congress. According to Brooks, RJC's digital and television ads had an impact in states like Florida and Pennsylvania during the 2016 elections. "We want American Jewish voters to understand what's at stake in November 2020," he said. " Look for much more from the RJC in the months ahead." In the 15- to 30-second spots, “leading Democrats” are accused of “turning their back” on Israel. Does Catherine Herridge Leaving for CBS News Portend a Left Turn for Fox News?

{ americanthinker.com } ~ The announcement last Thursday that popular veteran Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge would be leaving the channel the following day – and moving to a new job as Senior Investigative Correspondent at CBS News later this month... took both viewers and media watchers by complete surprise. On the heels of the declaration three weeks earlier by prominent Fox News Channel news host Shepard Smith during his afternoon program that he would be leaving the channel that same day, the news about Herridge occasioned an immediate wealth of wild speculation by pundits weighing in with their opinions about what her departure means for the future of Fox News. For example, an article at a popular conservative site, Wayne Dupree dot com currently ranked #1,430 of all U.S. Web sites by Alexa, offered the headline “Need More Proof Fox News is Circling The Drain? Award-Winning Journalist Catherine Herridge is Leaving:” As Fox News circles the liberal drain, Herridge was one of the reasons to keep watching, because she embodied the “fair and balanced” mantra that Fox abandoned years ago. This kind of fact-challenged spin typifies a popular online meme about Fox News that has been circulating among conservatives during the past two years – the assertion that the channel is taking a major “turn to the left.” Before revisiting the validity of that claim, it is useful to review some actual facts, and also to consider a modicum of not unreasonable speculation, about Catherine Herridge’s departure from Fox News. Catherine Herridge is now 55 years old. She has worked at Fox News as a reporter since the channel launched in October 1996. Previously, she worked at ABC News. Initially at Fox, she was a political reporter known for covering the post-White House political career of scumbag/liar-Hillary Rodham Clinton and also for reporting a wide variety of breaking news stories. In recent years, Herridge has had the title Chief Intelligence Correspondent and has appeared on both FNC news and conservative prime time opinion programs, reporting on developments in the cases of alleged Russia collusion and, in recent weeks, the efforts to impeach President Donald Trump. Catherine Herridge’s departure, absent any factual evidence to the contrary, should not be immediately interpreted as having an ominous broader meaning about the future of Fox News and its direction leading up to the 2020 elections. ABA Trashes Another Judicial Nominee
Political Editors: Leftists long ago understood the importance of a like-minded judiciary — which is why they’re no longer content to merely oppose conservative judicial nominees. These days, their goal is to personally destroy them. Such is the sad case yet again with Lawrence VanDyke, the man President Donald Trump nominated for a seat on the Ninth Circuit Court — a court Trump is effectively reshaping.
In vigorous opposition to Trump is the American Bar Association (ABA), a leftist judicial organization known for “scoring” nominees for the bench. Often hailed by Chuck scumbag-Schumer and other Democrats as the “gold standard” for judicial evaluation, the group has essentially become the Southern Poverty Law Center of judicial activism. Thus, it recently tarred VanDyke as “Not Qualified,” just as it once did to Robert Bork.
VanDyke, the ABA argued in its two page assessment, “is arrogant, lazy, an ideologue, and lacking in knowledge of the day-to-day practice including procedural rules.” Worse, ABA said, VanDyke may be a bigot, warning that he “would not say affirmatively that he would be fair to any litigant before him, notably members of the LGBTQ community.”
First of all, the idea that any judicial nominee would hesitate to say he’d be fair to any litigant is absurd. Yet asked during confirmation hearings if the ABA’s allegation was correct, VanDyke was moved to tears. “I did not say that. I do not believe that,” he insisted, before adding, “It is a fundamental belief of mine that all people are created in the image of God and they should all be treated with dignity and respect.”
Indeed, as The Resurgent’s Matthew Monforton writes, “VanDyke has represented LGBT clients, including before the U.S. Supreme Court.”
The ABA is hardly alone in smearing constitutional constructionists, but the group enjoys special access for evaluation, and it’s clearly time to revoke that privilege. Republican senators Mike Lee and Josh Hawley are bent on making it happen. ~The Patriot Post
