CRUZ TAKES SHOT AT WIFE’S WALL STREET FIRM
Bloomberg: “One day after announcing himself as presidential candidate, Texas Senator Ted Cruz fired a few shots across the bow of Wall Street, and the firm that employs his wife as managing director. In an interview with Bloomberg’s With All Due Respect, Cruz was asked by host Mark Halperin whether, on balance, Goldman Sachs was a positive or a negative force on society. ‘Like any institution, there’s some of both,’ Cruz responded, adding, ‘Goldman is one of the biggest banks on Wall Street, and my criticism with Washington is they engage in crony capitalism. … I think big business, if they’re building a better mousetrap, great, but it shouldn’t be government favoring, and let me give you an example: Dodd-Frank. Sold to the American people as stopping ‘too-big-to-fail.’ What happened? The big banks have gotten bigger. Goldman has gotten bigger...’”  -Fox News

BIG ENOS, LITTLE ENOS DEEMED PERSONS OF INTEREST
With the recent news that the Ringling Brothers circus will eliminate elephants in its acts, two of the animals appear to have found work as first responders. The Natchitoches Parish, La. Sheriff’s Department responded to a call to assist with diverting traffic around an 18-wheeler obstructing an exit on Interstate 49. The tractor-trailer, which was transporting three elephants from Florida to Texas, had gotten stuck in the mud when the driver pulled off to the rain-soaked shoulder. The driver and trainer coaxed two of the animals out of the trailer to help prop up the tilted side of the trailer until a tow truck arrived. The department has helpfully provided photos of the pachyderms at work.   -Fox News

 Yep, Bergdahl Deserted
Bowe Bergdahl, the Army Pfc. taken "captive" by the Taliban but freed in exchange for five Taliban Gitmo detainees, will be charged with desertion. Bergdahl deserted his post in 2009 under cover of darkness, carrying with him a knife, a compass, a camera, a diary and some water. Shortly thereafter, he was "captured" by the Taliban, though the Pentagon never classified him as a POW. At least six Americans lost their lives searching for him. Barack nObama insisted then, "Regardless of the circumstances ... we still get an American soldier back if he's held in captivity. Period." He rightly took it on the chin for the foolish exchange and his stubbornness, and the news of the charges, which come after a months-long investigation, is no surprise. On the other hand, one might be surprised the whole thing wasn't swept under the rug precisely because it's such an embarrassment for the commander in chief. The administration defended the swap earnestly at the time, with National Security Advisor Susan Rice insisting Bergdahl served "with honor and distinction." It's even more obvious now that he didn't. But the important thing for nObama was never bringing one of our boys home; it was emptying Guantanamo Bay. If he has to, as he put it, "whittle away" one prisoner swap at a time, so be it. Oh, and the released Taliban commanders are eager to rejoin the battlefield when their year in Qatar is up. But not to worry; State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki says, "Was it worth it? Absolutely."
Meanwhile, everyone knows Bergdahl's name. But how many know the
names of the six men who died looking for him? Their names are Pfc. Matthew Michael Martinek, Staff Sgt. Kurt Robert Curtiss, Staff Sgt. Clayton Bowen, Pfc. Morris Walker, Staff Sgt. Michael Chance Murphrey and Second Lt. Darryn Andrews.  -The Patriot Post

Saudi Arabia Bombed Yemen and It Can Get Worse
Yemen's president is in hiding. Classified files from the U.S. Drone program have been seized and handed to Iran. Yemen lies in shambles as al-Qaida, ISIL and rebel groups aligned with Iran wage war. In response, Saudi Arabia pounded its southern neighbor, Yemen, through the night with 100 jets in an effort to loosen the hold the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have on the country. It's a move that could spark a proxy war split along sectarian lines. Ten countries supported Saudi Arabia in its campaign, with some like Egypt pledging naval and troop support. The United States also provided intelligence to the Royal Saudi Air Force. But Javid Zarif, Iran's foreign minister, paused in negotiating with the U.S. over the nuclear deal to state, "The Saudi-led air strikes should stop immediately and it is against Yemen's sovereignty. We will make all efforts to control crisis in Yemen." Of all the failed states in the Middle East, Yemen may prove to be the worst, as several nations are pledging military action. And where's nObama? He's a butterfly flittering through a hurricane. He still thinks Yemen is a model for U.S. foreign policy success. More...   -The Patriot Post

U.S. Airpower to Support Iranian Forces in ISIL Fight
In Middle East diplomacy, the United States is working seemingly with two different Irans. Sure, there's the Iran that is backing Houthi rebels in Yemen, that chants "death to America." But then there's the Iran that sent troops to fight ISIL in Iraq, and with which the United States is working. Recently, the U.S. military has directed its air power to the Iraqi city of Tikrit, where the Iraqi Army and the Iranian military have stalled in their offensive against ISIL positions. It requires some sort of coordination with Iran, even if only means Iraqi soldiers telling U.S. intelligence where Iranian soldiers are positioned. National Review's Jim Geraghty wrote this morning, "So we're offering logistical help to our allies to help them fight Iranian proxies… while we're helping Iranian forces in Iraq against ISIS… while we're attempting to reach agreement with the Iranians on their nuclear ambitions." That pretty much sums up Barack nObama's foreign policy bungle. The New York Times suggests this arrangement is yet another effort to gain influence with the Iraqi military over Iran's jockeying. There's only one Iran with one vision for how its relationship with the United States will develop. The nObama administration better figure out what Iran wants before it gets burned. More...  -The Patriot Post

nObama Continues Loosening the Reins on Illegal Aliens in the US
(Suzanne Hamner) - As has been predicted with the unilateral executive "decree" of "amnesty" to illegal aliens who break US law by crossing the border without going through lawful means...our southern border has become a "sieve" and the US Border Patrol rendered moot. The nObama administration has run a stealth "amnesty" program for years and then lied to a federal judge about processing illegals for the programs ahead of the scheduled start date, after announcing it in November of 2014. Now, information surfaces that nObama has changed the L-1B visa program through unilateral executive "decree" allowing foreign workers who work for US corporations overseas to enter this country to work for the same wage they received in their home nation. Companies who transfer workers to the US through an L-1B visa have to show that those workers bring some sort of "specialized knowledge" to the job – that is, they have particular knowledge that would be hard, if not impossible, to find elsewhere in the United States. nObama plans to broaden the definition of "specialized knowledge" so much that it could conceivably [be] used to cover just about any foreign worker a company wants to bring here. It gets even better. The L-1B program has virtually zero federal oversight or scrutiny. The government has no idea how many workers are here on L-1B visas, or who they work for as there is no data collection surrounding this program. And, companies do not even have to prove a need for an L-1B worker. All they have to do is make a case to an adjudicator that is "probably true."        http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/03/obama-expands-l-1b-visa-program/

Head of House Benghazi probe says Hilly wiped email server 'clean'
(foxnews.com) - Hilly Clinton wiped her email server "clean," permanently deleting all emails from it, the leader of the House committee investigating the 2012 terror attacks in Benghazi said Friday...Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said the former secretary of state has failed to produce a single new document in recent weeks and has refused to relinquish her server to a third party for an independent review, as Gowdy has requested. "While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the secretary to return her public record to the Department," Gowdy said in a statement. “Not only was the secretary the sole arbiter of what was a public record, she also summarily decided to delete all emails from her server ensuring no one could check behind her analysis in the public interest.” So what happens now? Does she get away with it?       http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/03/28/head-house-benghazi-probe-says-hillary-clinton-wiped-email-server-clean/

Martial Law Preparedness – Urban Warfare – Is There A Difference?
(rickwells.us) - On March 17th a four-day, 200 man Special Operations Forces drill was conducted in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, involving members of the Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy...It’s was packaged and sold to the American people as urban warfare training...The question that keeps being asked and rightly so is, “Who exactly is the enemy that they are training to face?” While the rank and file of the military are firmly in support of their fellow citizens, we’ve seen enough purges within their ranks to be concerned with the leadership. There is also little question that those currently in control of our federal government do not share the values and beliefs upon which this nation was founded. With the incessant erosion of our national protections by leftists intent on invalidating our Bill of Rights and subjugating the United States to the United Nations, displays such as this are very disconcerting. They are happening with much greater frequency, all across the nation, but particularly in the southwest. That region will also be the site of the upcoming, huge, nine-state “Jade Helm” operation this summer.       http://www.rickwells.us/its-not-martial-law-preparedness-its-a-civil-unrest-mobilization-drill-urban-warfare-really-is-there-a-difference/

Illegal Alien Males Higher Employment Rate, 12 Percent Higher
(Breitbart.com) – An illegal immigrant male residing in the United States  is more likely to be gainfully employed than a male who is a legal immigrant or U.S.-born citizen, a senior demographer at the Pew Research Center think tank told lawmakers...In 2012, the most recent year for which data is available, an estimated 91 percent of illegal immigrant males were in the workforce. This compares to 84 percent of legal immigrant men and 79 percent of U.S.-born males, Pew Research Center demographer Jeffrey Passel in written testimony prepared for a March 26 hearing held by the Senate Homeland Security & Government Affairs Committee. Put in a different way, legal and illegal immigrant males had a better chance to be in the workforce than U.S.-born men in 2012.  http://www.rickwells.us/illegal-alien-males-higher-employment-rate-than-us-citizens-or-legal-immigrants-12-percent-higher/

 Iran Wants More Nuke Concessions
(Adam Kredo) - Iranian negotiators are becoming rigid and unmoving in their stance on a range of key nuclear issues in talks, according to multiple sources familiar with the negotiations...who said Tehran is angling to elicit as many concessions as possible from the United States as the talks reach a critical stage ahead of the looming March 31 deadline. Iran is pushing for major relief from economic sanctions and the ability to continue sensitive research and development on the nuclear and weapons fronts, according to sources quoted in the Iranian state-controlled press on Sunday. The Iranian side is said to be digging in its heels over these issues as U.S. diplomats rush to finalize a tentative agreement ahead of a self-imposed March 31 deadline.  Black churches divorce Presbyterians over gay marriage
(donsurber.blogspot.com) - The National Black Church Initiative is a political umbrella for 34,000 African-American and Latino churches in 15 denominations representing 15.7 million Christians. Its policies are progressive...On Friday, though, it broke fellowship with the largely white Presbyterian Church USA, following the Presbyterians voting to accept gay marriage. This shows the riff between white liberals and minorities over gay marriage. Minorities overwhelmingly supported the Proposition 8 ban on gay marriage in California, which passed in 2008. Which may be why no news mainstream news organization has picked up on the press release. It exposes something that hurts The Narrative. I wonder how they feel about nObama when he supports gay marriages?       http://donsurber.blogspot.com/2015/03/black-churches-divorce-presbyterians.html?spref=tw

Iran Backs Away From Crucial Element In Negotiations
(Ethan Barton) - Iran is no longer willing to ship its nuclear materials out of the country on Sunday, a move that was to be a critical component of a proposed agreement in a deal to prevent it from building nuclear weapons...Tehran initially agreed that it would export a large portion of its uranium stockpile, which it spent years and billions of dollars to collect, to Russia, one of the six other countries involved in the negotiations to prevent its usage in future weapons programs. However, with less than 48 hours to go to reach an agreement, Iranian officials have reversed their position, the New York Times reported Sunday night. "The export of stocks of enriched uranium is not in our program, and we do not intend sending them abroad," the official, Abbas Araqchi, said, according to Agence France-Presse. "There is no question of sending the stocks abroad."       http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/iran-backs-away-from-crucial-element-in-nuke-negotiations/article/2562230

 Reconciliation karma could hit nObamacare
(Thomas Lifson) - If the GOP has the wit and guts to follow through, a workable strategy to repeal nObamacare has come into view, using the very reconciliation process that led to passage of the unpopular bill...Writing at Breitbart, Mike Flynn explains the opportunity that has been opened up. The key is the budget resolution passed last week: Over the next two weeks, while Congress is in recess, the House and Senate will begin to hammer out small differences between the budget resolutions that passed each chamber. Leaders in both chambers have vowed to meet the April 15th deadline to produce a final budget resolution. This is exactly how nObamacare was passed into law, avoiding a GOP filibuster in the Senate after the 60th Democrat seat in the Senate was lost to the GOP in a special election following Ted Kennedy’s death. nObamacare was added onto a reconciliation bill.  In the same manner, the GOP can paste in repeal of nObamacare.      http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/03/reconciliation_karma_could_hit_obamacare.html

What Should Israel Do Now That Its Neighbors Are Collapsing?
What Should Israel Do Now That Its Neighbors Are Collapsing?
(Lazar Berman and Gidi Netzer) - This past January, an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian Golan Heights killed up to twelve enemy fighters. These were not conventional Syrian forces, of the kind stationed across the mainly quiet frontier for decades...Israel’s pilots were after something new and far more troubling: Hizballah men (including senior commanders) and an Iranian general believed to have been scouting the border area for opportunities to carry out kidnappings, rocket attacks, and infiltrations into northern Israel. Meanwhile, in the very same volatile region, al-Qaeda-affiliated guerrillas and moderate Syrian rebels have been engaging in pitched battles with Hizballah and other Iranian-backed forces. No quieter is the region hugging Israel’s southern border. Also in January, jihadists launched a series of attacks against Egyptian security forces in the Sinai, killing at least 30. The Egyptian government accused the Palestinian terror group Hamas of involvement in the attacks.       http://mosaicmagazine.com/observation/2015/03/what-should-israel-do-now-that-its-neighbors-are-collapsing/

The NAACP’s Fomenters of Fear
Michelle Malkin

(freedomsback.com) - They just can’t help themselves — and their agenda-driven media enablers never, ever learn.

This week, the NAACP made national front-page headlines with a local press release demanding that the feds investigate the hanging death of a local man in Port Gibson, Miss. Derrick Johnson, president of the NAACP Mississippi State Conference, immediately invoked the specter of a “hate crime.” In response, the nObama Justice Department flooded the zone with a whopping 30 federal agents.

News outlets grabbed the bait. USA Today asked ominously: “Was it a lynching?” The discovery of ex-con Otis Byrd’s body swinging from a tree by a bed sheet “brought back unpleasant memories of America’s violent, racially charged past,” the paper’s video reporter asserted. Voice of America similarly intoned: “Mississippi hanging death raises lynching specter.” The Los Angeles Times leaped into the fray with: “Why this story haunts the nation.”

Whoa there, teeth-gnashing Nellies. Didn’t we just recently witness the implosion of an NAACP-incited non-hate crime with the same exact narrative? Why, yes. Yes, we did.

As I reported in January, the group was here in my adopted hometown of Colorado Springs hyping a so-called “bombing” at the city’s chapter office. Local, state and federal NAACP leaders, amplified by political and media sympathizers, claimed the alleged hate crime “remind(ed) me of another period” (Georgia Democratic Rep. John Lewis); “undermines years of progress” (Texas Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee); “harkens to bad old days” (MSNBC); and “evokes memories of civil rights strife” (Time magazine).

But the allegedly racist perpetrator of the “NAACP bombing” turned out to be a disgruntled client of a now-deceased tax accountant who once worked in the same office complex. The financially troubled suspect had unsuccessfully tried to contact the tax preparer for years to obtain past tax returns. But unbeknownst to the “bomber,” who set off a pathetic improvised explosive device on the opposite side of the NAACP office, the accountant had been sent to prison for bilking other clients — and had passed away several years ago.

Confirming what only a few of us in the media dared to theorize out loud, race had absolutely nothing to do with the wildly inflated and cynically exploited incident in Colorado Springs. Zip, zero, nada.

None of this appears to have chastened the journalists who reflexively empower the NAACP agitators who reflexively cry racism. Just weeks after the not-NAACP bombing, here they are stoking fears of a probably-not-racist-not-lynching. Despite law enforcement reports that Byrd’s hands were unbound, despite warnings from the local sheriff (who happens to be black) not to jump to conclusions, and despite the very real possibility that Byrd committed suicide, the papers and airwaves disseminated Blame Whitey and Blame Righty talking points without thinking twice.

The incident indeed “brought back memories” for me — memories of the embarrassing 1996 media malpractice of former USA Today reporter Gary Fields, who manufactured a purported epidemic of racist church-burnings in the South with 61 hysterical stories. A typical and familiar headline: “Arson at Black Church Echoes Bigotry of the Past.” The NAACP jumped onboard and demanded that then-Attorney General Janet Reno investigate. President Clinton fanned the flames; panels were formed; federal spending programs were passed. But a year later, Fields’ own paper was forced to admit that “analysis of the 64 fires since 1995 shows only four can be conclusively shown to be racially motivated.”

Several of the crimes had been committed by black suspects; a significant number of the black churches were in fact white churches; and the Chicken Littles had obscured numerous complex motives including mental illness, vandalism and concealment of theft.

Same old, same old. Then, as now, for publicity and profit, the race hustlers stoke the very societal divisiveness they claim to abhor — and knee-jerk journalists suffering institutional amnesia aid and abet them.
