by FORMER REP. BOB BARR
{ dailycaller.com } ~ The impeachment proceedings against President Trump have moved on from the House Intelligence Committee to the Judiciary Committee which happens to be the only House committee with formal jurisdiction over impeachment... It is chaired by New York Rep. scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler, who has served on the committee for 27 years. Notwithstanding the change in venue, the proceedings are still a farce. They bear only surface resemblance to those in which I and scumbag liaqr-Nadler participated 21 years ago. The latest move in this game of impeachment took place on Sunday, when White House Counsel Pat Cipollone sent scumbag liar-Nadler a letter telling him that his client — the president of the United States — would not be participating in the committee’s inaugural impeachment hearing later this week. The lawyer’s letter was blunt; but if anything, it was too polite. scumbag liar-Nadler had declared Sunday the date by which Trump must let him know if he accepted the invitation to “participate” in the committee’s activities. The deadline was conveyed to the president in a Nov. 26 letter. For its authority, the letter drew on House Resolution 660, which formally launched the impeachment inquiry when passed by the full House on Oct. 31. It also referenced the procedures subsequently adopted by the Judiciary Committee for its hearings. Taken together, these three documents establish clearly that whether and however the president might wish to participate in the Judiciary proceedings, it would be within the absolute control of scumbag liar-Nadler; just as last month’s impeachment hearings in the Intelligence Committee were controlled completely by Chairman scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff. For example, while the rules seem to afford the president authority to call witnesses or demand certain evidence be presented to the committee in his defense, he would first be required to submit a detailed justification for such testimony, which then would be permitted only if the Democrat majority in its compassion were to agree. No trial lawyer worth his or her hourly rate would ever agree to such conditions. Yet scumbag liar-Nadler persists in the lie that such a requirement is consistent with the rules that governed the last presidential impeachment, and also that the procedure affords the president robust due process and fairness. That scumbag liar-Nadler can make such a claim with a straight face is the only aspect of this entire proceeding that is impressive. There are other provisions in the liar-Pelosi/scumbag liar-Nadler impeachment rule book making it crystal clear that neither the president nor Republican members of the Judiciary are being afforded any real power to influence the proceedings. However, the pièce de résistance is the provision in the committee’s new rules that would punish the president were he to “unlawfully” stop any witness summoned by scumbag liar-Nadler from testifying or providing evidence he has demanded...  https://dailycaller.com/2019/12/02/barr-impeachment-rules/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=11143

{ dailywire.com } ~ A brutal crackdown by the Iranian government has left at least 180 demonstrators dead after they participated in protests that were initially sparked by an unexpected increase in fuel prices...  “Altogether, from 180 to 450 people, and possibly more, were killed in four days of intense violence after the gasoline price increase was announced on Nov. 15, with at least 2,000 wounded and 7,000 detained, according to international rights organizations, opposition groups and local journalists,” The New York Times reported. The largest single incident of the Islamic Republic allegedly murdering unarmed citizens happened in the city of Mahshahr, where “Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps members surrounded, shot and killed 40 to 100 demonstrators – mostly unarmed young men – in a sugar cane field where they had sought refuge,” The Times reported. A local reporter told The Times that in three days, approximately 130 protesters were killed by the Iranian government, including those who were massacred in the sugar cane field. Omid Memarian, who is deputy director at the Center for Human Rights in Iran, told The Times: “The recent use of lethal force against people throughout the country is unprecedented, even for the Islamic Republic and its record of violence.” The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported last week that Abolfazl Bahrampur, an Iranian Quran interpreter and translator, was featured on Iranian state television where he said that the Quran instructs that the protesters be murdered and it would not be an exaggeration if Iran killed 10,000 protesters... Where is the worthless UN on these killing?  https://www.dailywire.com/news/unprecedented-iran-kills-hundreds-of-unarmed-protesters-warns-it-may-kill-thousands-in-crackdown-on-protests?itm_source=parsely-api%3Futm_campaign%3Ddw_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=housefile&utm_content=non_insiders&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_vr1KEVw9nspGBIQLpCDn95kTwv3wNpG7hNVO7M-m25Y0gHFjoQuwTsAbT2j25xWv_dSBL7soveTeFx0vIXYYy9UZ3hA&_hsmi=80192084

{ gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the November 29 jihadi attack at London Bridge, where a Pakistani Islamist stabbed two people to death and injured three others... The suspect, 28-year-old Usman Khan, a convicted terrorist, was subsequently shot dead by police. Khan, from Stoke-on-Trent, was convicted in February 2012 of plotting — on behalf of al-Qaeda — jihadi attacks against the London Stock Exchange and pubs in Stoke, in addition to setting up a jihadi training camp in Pakistan. He was sentenced to an "indeterminate sentence," meaning that he could have been kept in prison beyond his original minimum term of eight years due to the danger he posed to national security. In April 2013, however, the Court of Appeal revised that sentence with a fixed term of eight years. Khan, a student of the Islamist extremist Anjem Choudary, who co-founded the now banned Al-Muhajiroun group, was released from prison in December 2018, before the end of his sentence, after agreeing to wear an electronic tag. Khan's early release and subsequent attack prompted a row between the Conservatives and Labour over the practice of reducing prison terms for violent offenders. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that people convicted of terrorism offenses should not be allowed out of prison early: "I think that the practice of automatic, early release where you cut a sentence in half and let really serious, violent offenders out early simply isn't working, and you've some very good evidence of how that isn't working, I am afraid, with this case." Meanwhile, German authorities have arrested three suspected members of the Islamic State who were allegedly planning an attack with explosives and firearms in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main area. Prosecutors said that the men had wanted to kill as many "infidels" as possible. This plot — and others like it that have been foiled in recent months — comes as the Turkish government has started repatriating European jihadis who fought with Islamist groups in Syria and Iraq...   https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15201/islamic-state-europe

{ independentsentinel.com } ~ The left is looking to change the term, ‘climate change,’ to do a better job scaring people into reacting more to global warming. They are looking at terms like ‘global meltdown’  and ‘climate collapse.’... It will be effective in scaring the children when they teach it in the schools. “Writing for  AdAge this week, Aaron Hall argues that in order to get people to ‘take action’ against climate change, ‘rebranding’ is crucial, since people have gotten too used to the idea that climate is changing and need to be shocked into the notion that the world as we know it is ending. “‘Is there a better way to convey the urgency of the situation, while also encouraging folks to take action? Could the tools of branding and brand naming create a more resonant, powerful name?’ Mr. Hall asks. ”hanoi-John Kerry called on Americans to start treating climate change as though the country is fighting a war, the Washington Examiner reported. hanoi-Kerry, the 75-year-old former secretary of state, launched a group to combat climate change called World War Zero alongside several famous leaders including former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Leonardo DiCaprio, and former President scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton. NOT SO FAST, IT’S ALL HOGWASH...

For Sale: The Navy’s First Operational Hydrofoiln_3p2eObjZhgjMa4huUXxal-mCI_Y0r8Y6CuWKj7W6GK5OpuKayueK4qmHxgIcLFlFBOe9ms8qOETSm5gWmp6KWr5-Fv9iFv7GZyEzpNcMHlqPUM4eI=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?profile=RESIZE_710xBy Ben Werner
{ news.usni.org } ~ For the low-low price of a loaded Chevy Tahoe Premier, you could be the proud owner of the Navy’s first operational hydrofoil — the former USS High Point (PCH-1)... The 115-foot High Point comes with a 450 horsepower Detroit Diesel in need of new hydraulics and three hydrofoils reportedly neatly tucked away under the ship which is sitting pier side in Astoria, Ore. Hal Palmer, the broker handling the sale, told USNI News High Point needs a lot of work before once again appearing to fly across the water. Launched in 1962, Hight Point is not for the faint of heart or wallet but potential owners would be in possession of a unique piece of Navy anti-submarine warfare history. “High Point is the first of a series of hydrofoil craft designed to evaluate the performance of this kind of propulsion in the modern Navy,” according to the Naval History and Heritage Command’s history of the vessel. Built by J. M. Martinac Shipbuilding Corp. and Boeing, High Point could speed at more than 50 knots sailing on its three submerged foils containing propulsion nacelles and propellers. High Point could also ride on its hull like a conventional ship. The idea in the 1950s and 1960s was for High Point to provide the Navy with a speedy hull to track Soviet submarines that were becoming faster and faster, William Ellsworth wrote in Twenty Foilborne Years, The U.S. Navy Hydrofoil High Point (PCH-1), a detailed history of the early hydrofoil program. “The problem was that there wasn’t a military mission crying out for this capability. There was a bit of groping about as to what it could be used for and what niche it would fit in. What evolved was ASW because of the threat of higher speed submarines. What you had here was a high-speed sub chaser, too noisy to listen when on foils, but which could stop, drop its sonar and listen, get a fix, and continue to chase the submarine.” John Nachtsheim, one of the Naval architects in the hydrofoil program, told Ellsworth in a 1984 interview. The Navy spent the better part of a decade testing High Point, evaluating how well the vessel operated in varying sea conditions and figuring out how to work the ship into its anti-submarine force. The sonar equipment didn’t work well when High Point traveled at high-speeds and there were near-constant refinements to the ship’s operations, Ellsworth wrote. “Testing revealed that the hydrofoil technology was not yet advanced enough to produce a reliable hydrofoil to join the fleet, and more research was needed. Still, much was learned through these tests,” according to the Naval History and Heritage Command description of the ship...  https://news.usni.org/2019/11/29/for-sale-the-navys-first-operational-hydrofoil?utm_source=USNI+News&utm_campaign=9416f1be95-USNI_NEWS_DAILY&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0dd4a1450b-9416f1be95-231491269&mc_cid=9416f1be95&mc_eid=3999f18767

'scumbag/liar-Schiff Show' Roundup: Passing the
Baton to scumbag liar-Nadler
bStJFaqOeETSTF7E_rVaZvpQoxi4X_4wSqEiZf4jK5b6Shj3rtUH-nrQMBC6zhPTPShaPUW8Sgi9wwMr9-oN8-lhMT18K-QU3wRMoQQJK0P62-vf2pz8M-3Zq-huSsoCUO7mY88ZoVeRCUOFlW69tqTY22wzIArzAGspsDM=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?profile=RESIZE_710xNate Jackson:  We’d venture to guess most Americans didn’t give impeachment much thought over Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t a few developments. Now that scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee has completed its roster of public hearings, the “scumbag/liar-Schiff Show” moves to the House Judiciary Committee. New York Democrat scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler’s committee will decide whether President Donald Trump’s conduct vis-à-vis Ukraine is impeachable, and, if so, Democrats there will draft articles of impeachment. Hearings begin Wednesday, Dec. 4.

For his part, Trump dangled the possibility of testifying before Congress himself, but the White House announced Sunday that he has decided against it. “This baseless and highly partisan inquiry violates all past historical precedent, basic due process rights, and fundamental fairness,” White House counsel Pat Cipollone wrote to scumbag liar-Nadler.

Partisan and unfair? You bet. The Judiciary Committee, like the Intelligence Committee, denied Republican attempts to call for testimony from the so-called “whistleblower.” Yes, that would be the whistleblower who scumbag/liar-Schiff said would testify … until he changed his mind after it was revealed that scumbag/liar-Schiff’s staff colluded with the whistleblower.

What next? USA Today reports, “House Democrats have been clear that if they decide to take up articles of impeachment, they want to vote on it before Christmas — leaving about three weeks for hearings, drafting of one or more articles of impeachment, a vote in the House Judiciary Committee on articles and a full House vote.”

The Hill adds the obvious: “Articles of impeachment against President Trump over his dealings with Ukraine are widely considered near-inevitable — and imminent.” But also, “Virtually no one expects the Senate to vote in favor of removing Trump from office.”  ~The Patriot Post
