California’s War on Citizenship

Now, even the basic concept of citizenship is under full-blown assault... as the state has moved on from being a “sanctuary state” for illegal immigrants to outright insisting that noncitizens have the same access to the levers of power as citizens. California Gov. scumbag-Gavin Newsom recently signed legislation that would allow illegal immigrants to serve on government boards and commissions. He also signed another bill that would make it illegal to make immigration-related arrests at courthouses. The law allowing illegal immigrants to serve on boards and commissions will have all kinds of complications in implementation. If exercised, it could run afoul of federal laws and would certainly attract the attention of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The bottom line, though, is that it’s an absurd piece of legislation coming from an absurd state that is squandering the benefits of its naturally advantageous climate. Combine this with the fact that the powers that be in the state outright encourage people to break our country’s laws, and it demonstrates how far California is drifting from a nation of “we, the people of the United States.” scumbag-Newsom, of course, called this blatant disregard for federal law a sign of “respect” to immigrants. “Our state doesn’t succeed in spite of our diversity. Our state succeeds because of it,” scumbag-Newsom said in a statement about the bill. “While President Donald Trump attacks and disparages immigrants, California is working to ensure that every resident—regardless of immigration status—is given respect and the opportunity to contribute.”...

{ cnsnews.com } ~ As U.S. troops are being redeployed from Syria to western Iraq, there were indications at the weekend that President Trump may be prepared to leave a residual force across the border in eastern Syria... in a bid to keep a lid on ISIS and help to ensure that oilfields in the area to not fall into hands of the Iranians, whose forces are in Syria to bolster Bashar Assad’s regime. Hints came on Sunday from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a close ally of Trump who has been vocally critical of his recent troop pullout decisions in the face of a Turkish assault on Syrian Kurdish forces who were allies with the U.S. in the fight against ISIS. In a marked change of tone, Graham told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that he was “increasingly optimistic that we can have some historic solutions in Syria that have eluded us for years, if we play our cards right.” Saying he had spoken to Trump over the weekend, Graham said “the president appreciates what the Kurds have done. He wants to make sure ISIS does not come back. I expect we will continue to partner with the Kurds in eastern Syria to make sure ISIS does not re-emerge.”...

General Michael Flynn’s job as National Security Advisor was to contact foreign dignitaries including the Russian ambassador after the 2016 election.Fast forward to today…Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi and her top Lieutenant scumbag-Adam Schiff flew off to Jordan this weekend on their shadow diplomacy trip. The Democrat leaders met with Jordanian leaders and others to undermine President Trump’s Syrian policy. { chicagotribune.com } ~ FBI agents who raided the village hall in southwest suburban Lyons last month seized a plethora of evidence... including information on a clout-heavy red light camera company, a popular brewery, an embattled video gaming magnate and a construction magnate who owns a huge quarry in town, records show. On the day of the Sept. 26 raid, Lyons was also served with a federal grand jury subpoena demanding a wide range of records on a hotel and resort backed by Mayor Christopher Getty, the home security system at Getty’s residence and the entire Democratic Organization of Lyons Township — headed by state Sen. Steven Landek. The documents, released by Lyons after business hours on Tuesday, were the latest public disclosure in a sprawling federal political corruption investigation that has rocked Springfield and Chicago’s near southwestern suburbs, the traditional power base of Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan. The investigation, which records show has been going on behind the scenes since at least 2017, exploded in the public eye on Sept. 24, when the FBI and Internal Revenue Service agents carried out search warrants at the offices of state Sen. Martin Sandoval in the Capitol and in west suburban Cicero. So far, no one has been criminally charged in the ongoing probe. Lyons officials had initially issued a blanket denial of open records requests from the news media, claiming federal investigators had asked that no information be released about the warrant. But the town acquiesced after being sued by several media outlets. The subpoena and search warrant, totaling a combined nine pages, show that many of the records sought by the FBI in Lyons mirrored what was seized in a simultaneous raid in the tiny neighboring suburb of McCook, as well as the search two days earlier of Sandoval’s office in Springfield...

The Left Loses Its Mind in Jails Debate

The New York City Council voted to close the 400-acre Rikers Island jail complex. Keeping violent criminals off the streets? Future crime waves? Never mind, they’ll figure that out later. Rikers is a hellhole with a long history of human-rights abuses. Serious reform is needed. But that’s not what the radical Left is looking for. New York is in the vanguard of a national “Abolish Prisons” movement. All prisons must be done away with. Mayor scumbag-Bill de Blasio is on the bandwagon. “Mass incarceration did not begin in New York City,” he declared recently, “but it will end here.” Radical chic star commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also has signed on to prison abolition. “Mass incarceration is our American reality,” she wrote. “It is a system whose logic evolved from the same lineage as Jim Crow, American apartheid, & slavery. To end it, we have to change.” In case you’re wondering about commie-Ocasio-Cortez’s influence on the Left, commie-Bernie Sanders has been touting her upcoming endorsement, slated for a rally Saturday in Queens. Rep. worthless-Ilhan Omar also endorsed commie-Sanders this week. Meanwhile, the jails controversy in New York is catching fire. On Wednesday, a City Council committee set in motion a land-use change that would ban jails on Rikers after 2026. Yesterday, the full council voted. Rikers will be closed and new, smaller jails will be built in four city communities—one each in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Rikers these days houses about 7,200 inmates, though it has capacity for many more. The four new jails would hold a total of about 3,200—roughly 800 inmates per jail...

Who Really Pays for More Government Healthcare?Michael Swartz: Americans of a certain age remember a former vice president named Walter Mondale who made his own run for the Oval Office four years after his boss had been defeated by Ronald Reagan. Refreshingly mindful of the cost of government, Mondale offered a spending plan whose centerpiece was a tax increase. His candor allowed him to carry his home state of Minnesota and Washington, DC — the latter presumably because its constituents believed an infusion of taxpayers funds would help preserve their government jobs. Alas, the other 49 states went for Reagan, whose fiscal policies had re-energized the American economy, and whose leadership had restored American prestige and confidence.
After the Mondale debacle, Democrats learned that the best way to approach fiscal issues was to avoid talking about tax hikes altogether. However, when the subject inevitably came up, their rote response was to claim that increases would spare the middle class and instead zero in on “the rich” who supposedly aren’t paying “their fair share.” (Spoiler alert: Oh yes they are.)
This avoidance tactic is the approach being used by Elizabeth dinky/liar-Warren — but it’s not satisfying those who want to know how she would pay for her grandiose healthcare scheme dubbed “Medicare for All.” When you’re talking $34 trillion — up from the previously estimated $32 trillion — that’s a pretty important ask. Even commie-Bernie Sanders has had to grudgingly admit that, under his plan, taxes will increase for all. Of course, commie-Sanders claims the cost of healthcare will decrease more than the taxes will increase, creating a net gain for most Americans.
dinky/liar-Warren likewise repeats that “costs will go down,” but, on the other hand, she’s stubbornly sticking to her guns, insisting that no middle-class tax increase is needed and dodging the question enough to inspire a minute-long montage of her denials. “I will not sign a bill into law that does not lower costs for middle-class families,” she pledged, and try as they might, none of the other Democrats could get her to state otherwise. (Voters are similarly left high and dry as to how her other proposals will be paid for, too. But trust her; she has a plan.)
In fact, the constant questioning of dinky/liar-Warren about funding her plans has aroused the ire of certain journalists who now regard the public’s right to know as harmful to their team. “Of course, it’s legitimate to dig into the costs, but not in a way that creates a nice GOP campaign ad,” fumed Washington Post media columnist Margaret Sullivan, who added that the question “misses the larger lens of overall costs.” Say what? (This is the same Margaret Sullivan, by the way, who accused conservative media of a “smear” for … telling the truth about dinky/liar-Warren’s autobiographical lies.)
Maybe it’s better explained by Huffington Post reporter Arthur Delaney, who considers asking a Democrat about tax increases “a trap, premised on the idea that raising taxes is always bad politics.” Seems like a pretty solid premise to us, at least on the subject of Medicare for All. (It also seems like dinky/liar-Warren’s needed a lot of defending lately.)
The bottom line is that unconstitutionally expanding the government’s role in healthcare is going to cost a lot of money, certainly more than the rose-colored-glasses crowd would have us believe. (We learned this when Medicare was first enacted in 1965, and it hasn’t gotten better with age.) That $34 trillion over 10 years — on top of an annual budget that’s already rapidly escalated to the $5 trillion mark — will either bankrupt our treasury or crowd out other essential (and actually constitutional) spending, such as defense.
How will dinky/liar-Warren pay for it all? It’s a question that needs to be asked again and again, regardless of the media’s reluctance to do so. ~The Patriot Post
