VICTIMITIS: According to The Daily Caller, “Democratic Reps. worthless-Ayanna Pressley, commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, worthless-Rashida Tlaib and worthless-Ilhan Omar, known as ‘the squad,’ held a press conference Monday to discuss President Donald Trump’s tweets that told them to go back to their own countries.” At the same time, “House Speaker liar-Nancy Pulosi on Monday urged House Democrats to back a new resolution to condemn President Trump,” The Daily Wire reports. The culmination came when Rep. Al Green declared, “I will again, this month, bring impeachment to a vote on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives for bigotry in policy, [which is] harmful to our society.” But as Rush Limbaugh observes, “Their real problem is that they have a problem with America because the American people are too free.”
NEW ASYLUM POLICY: “The Trump administration on Monday announced a sweeping new policy tightening restrictions for asylum seekers, in a move that could drastically reduce the number of Central American migrants eligible to enter the United States in this way. The new rule … would require most migrants entering through America’s southern border to first seek asylum in one of the countries they traversed… In most cases, only if that application is denied would they then be able to seek asylum in the United States.” (Fox News)
ABORTION REGULATIONS BEGIN: “Effective immediately, family planning clinics that are funded by taxpayers must stop referring women for abortions, the Trump administration said Monday. The Health and Human Services (HHS) Department formally notified clinics that it will begin enforcing the ban on abortion referrals, along with a requirement that clinics maintain separate finances from facilities that provide abortions.” (Associated Press)
DEFYING THE WITCH HUNT: “White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway defied a subpoena and failed to appear on Monday at a congressional hearing about allegations she violated federal law, prompting a Democratic threat to hold her in contempt of Congress.” (Reuters)
FOR THE RECORD: “Despite numerous liberal politicians and pundits excoriating the Trump administration for delaying the Harriet Tubman $20 bill, former scumbag/liar-nObama administration officials recently revealed there was no actual delay. … While the scumbag/liar-nObama administration publicly claimed the Tubman bill would be ready in 2020, internally the Treasury Department recognized that deadline would not actually be met.” (The Washington Free Beacon)
Other Notables
FACEBOOK FINE: The Associated Press reports that the Federal Trade Commission has authorized a $5 billion fine regarding Facebook’s privacy malpractices. The final step is a review inside the Justice Department, where the fine is expected to pass muster. Unfortunately, the seemingly massive punishment is in reality pretty mundane: “For many companies, a $5 billion fine would be crippling. But Facebook is not most companies. It had nearly $56 billion in revenue last year. This year, analysts expect around $69 billion, according to Zacks. As a one-time expense, the company will also be able to exclude the amount from its adjusted earnings results — the profit figure that investors and financial analysts pay attention to.” On a somewhat related note, Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley “are asking the Federal Trade Commission to investigate social media companies’ perceived censorship practices,” The Daily Callerreports.
CHARLOTTESVILLE JUSTICE: “The man who killed one woman and injured dozens of others when he rammed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters at a 2017 white-nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va. has received an additional life sentence. … Judge Richard Moore of Virginia sentenced [the perpetrator] on Monday to life imprisonment plus 419 years and a fine of $480,000, following the recommendation of a state jury.” (National Review)
ICE-COLD RHETORIC: “According to a local report, a man that authorities say attacked an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Tacoma, Washington over the weekend repeatedly used the same ‘concentration camp’ rhetoric which socialist Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) injected into U.S. politics last month, in a manifesto that he allegedly wrote.” (The Daily Wire)

Michael Swartz: For the record, Donald Trump appears to have taken a single flight on the so-called “Lolita Express,” the private plane of billionaire financier, Democrat donor — and later convicted pedophile — Jeffrey Epstein. While it’s certainly more exposure than the average man on the street receives with the rich and infamous, the Left is playing up this one alleged trip, along with some throwaway remarks about Epstein’s preference for young female companionship made to a magazine over 15 years ago, and the questionable prosecutorial decision made by one of Trump’s now-former Cabinet members back in 2007 in yet another obsessive effort to “Get Trump.”
Anything to take the public’s eyes off a roaring economy and a notable bump in his approval numbers, right?
Well, yes and no. As reported by the Miami Herald in November 2018, the crimes Epstein is accused of committing are both chilling and heartbreaking at the same time. Dozens of underage girls were lured to Epstein’s Palm Beach estate to ostensibly give him massages for cash, but were then sexually victimized by Epstein.
It’s a “horrific history,” as Jim Geraghty notes in National Review, but the Herald chose to make the story about then-federal prosecutor Alexander Acosta — who is now the former secretary of labor after resigning this morning — and the very lenient slap on the wrist Epstein received for charges that could have put him in prison for the rest of his life. It’s an angle that was gleefully embraced by the partisan media with Epstein’s arrest last week, so Acosta fell on his sword today.
Other hand-wringers believed President Trump had reason to worry, including former Trump biographer Timothy O'Brien, who tut-tutted, “If [Epstein] has anything sordid or compromising that he’s willing to trade about Trump, however, the president could be in for an uncomfortable summer.”
On the other hand, those who’d like to keep the public from learning about the more than two dozen flights scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton allegedly took with Epstein and underage girls are busy scrubbing Wikipedia of any mention of Democrats and Epstein together. (Or, as liar-Nancy Pulosi’s daughter Christine admitted, it’s “quite likely that some of our faves are implicated.”) Several years ago, an Epstein “black book” with a number of recognizable names was revealed, so it’s a fair wager this may be what the younger liar-Pulosi is referring to. A single offense is obviously one too many when it comes to such matters, but there’s clearly a question of scale here that some would prefer not be asked.
The Left’s white-hot spotlight, though, was on Acosta — and for obvious reasons: He’s the son of Cuban refugees, a first-generation college graduate, and the first Hispanic to serve as assistant attorney general (during the George W. Bush administration). Derailing this man’s career takes him off the board as a rising Hispanic star in Republican politics.
Acosta’s record is one of a complex case against an all-star team of legal minds for an exceptionally wealthy client and the prospect of gaining leads in a separate high-profile financial case, argue Acosta’s defenders. But it also left a nagging sense that justice wasn’t properly served the first time, and in such a time where the Harvey Weinstein saga and #MeToo movement has heightened awareness of other similar cases affecting politicos like Al Franken, Anthony Weiner, and Roy Moore, it’s almost impossible to believe Jeffrey Epstein will get another plea deal. The only question is how far into the corridors of power will the investigation go?
Could it really drain the Swamp? Or will it merely serve the Left’s dual purpose of ruining the career of a talented Hispanic Republican and imperiling Donald Trump’s chance for a second term?
