. Robert Mueller Shouldn’t Even Ask Trump for an Interview
by ANDREW C. MCCARTHY { nationalreview.com } ~ For months, these columns have contended that, on the question whether President Trump should agree to a request by Special Counsel Robert Mueller III for an interview... the burden of persuasion has been imposed on the wrong party. That is, the president should not even be asked to submit to questioning at this point; the prosecutor must first establish that the president (1) is implicated in a serious crime and (2) has information or evidence that the prosecutor is unable to obtain from any other source. That argument is bolstered by this weekend’s New York Times report that, with the president’s consent, Mueller’s team has conducted 30 hours of interviews with White House counsel Donald F. McGahn II. Having secured testimony from the president’s top lawyer, the special counsel is in no position to claim that he needs the president’s own testimony. The president’s consent to make McGahn available to prosecutors is extraordinary, as it involves waiving both executive privilege and attorney–client privilege. As to the latter, some claim that there is no real waiver involved because McGahn purportedly represents “the presidency” in the abstract, not the actual incumbent. The Times pushes this line, claiming that McGahn “viewed his role as protector of the presidency, not of Mr. Trump.” This is nonsense. McGahn’s client is the president in the latter’s official capacity — in contrast to Trump’s private lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow. Reportedly, the president consented to Mueller’s interview of McGhan at the urging of a legal team that, for the most part, has since been overhauled — John Dowd, who served along with Sekulow as Trump’s private counsel, and the now-retired Ty Cobb, who was brought into the White House Counsel’s Office over McGahn’s objection, according to the Times to manage the administration’s response to the investigation — a job taken over since Cobb’s retirement by Emmet Flood... https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/08/robert-mueller-donald-trump-interview-request/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NR%20Daily%20Monday%20through%20Friday%202018-08-20&utm_term=NR5PM%20Actives

Elizabeth dinky-Warren’s Federal Corporate
Takeover Bill is Complete Nonsense
by Andrew { conservativefreepress.com } ~ We’ve seen some serious pandering in our day, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen anything as cynical, stupid, and nonsensical... as Elizabeth dinky-Warren’s latest attempt to woo progressives to her side. dinky-Warren, thanks to her war on Wall Street and her friendship with commie-Bernie Sanders, is already seen as the likely commir-Bernie 2.0 when 2020 rolls around, but she’s got fellow dummycrats-Democrats like Kamala Harris and scumbag-Cory Booker no slouches in the pandering department themselves breathing down her neck. The dummycrats-Democratic presidential field will be a crowded one, and the game right now seems to be who can “out-lefty” the others. Well, dinky-Warren made a hell of a go of capturing the title this week when she introduced a piece of go-nowhere legislation called the “Accountable Capitalism Act.” In it, dinky-Warren essentially proposes that the federal government creep in and begin making demands of any American company that makes more than $1 billion a year. This is enough red meat to throw to the left-wing base, and the mere prospect of forcing major American companies to be “good stewards” to their employees and their communities guaranteed favorable coverage in all the usual places: Slate, Vox, Salon, etc. As for herself, dinky-Warren took her message to the Wall Street Journal, apparently hoping to convince even die-hard capitalists that this would be in everyone’s best interests. “In the early 1980s, large American companies sent less than half their earnings to shareholders, spending the rest on their employees and other priorities,” dinky-Warren wrote. “But between 2007 and 2016, large American companies dedicated 93% of their earnings to shareholders.”... http://www.conservativefreepress.com/business/elizabeth-warrens-federal-corporate-takeover-bill-is-complete-nonsense/ .
Trump Wants To Know Why Sessions Hasn’t Fired Bruce Ohr Yet
by Saagar Enjeti { dailycaller.com } ~ President Donald Trump questioned why Attorney General Jeff Sessions has not fired a DOJ lawyer intimately involved... with pushing the Steele dossier in the FBI during the 2016 presidential campaign. Newly released text messages between the DOJ lawyer, Bruce Ohr and dossier other Christopher Steele reveal a close relationship between the two, as well as the involvement of Ohr’s wife. Ohr’s wife was an employee of the firm Fusion GPS which commissioned the dummycrats-Democratic opposition research from Steele. Ohr is now scheduled to appear before Congress to answer questions on August 28 about his role in pushing the dossier to the FBI... http://dailycaller.com/2018/08/20/trump-sessions-bruce-ohr/?utm_medium=email ..
ISIS Fighter Exploited scumbag/liar-nObama's Lax Refugee Policies by Political Editors: Recent news gives credence to President Donald Trump’s reasoning behind his early executive order that created a temporary travel ban on people coming from several Muslim-majority countries — countries that by the way were identified as problematic by Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s administration. Recall that the travel ban sparked months of dummycrats-Democrat and Leftmedia outrage, as well as several court challenges. Trump’s argument for the temporary ban was the need to shore up the vetting process so as to prevent potential terrorists from entering the U.S. Well, here we have an instance proving that rationale was well reasoned. On Wednesday, FBI agents from the Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested an Iraqi national who had fought for the Islamic State and had murdered an Iraqi policeman prior to entering the U.S. as a refugee in 2014. Omar Abdulsattar Ameen was an ISIS jihadi in Iraq in 2012 and later fled to Turkey, where he applied for and was able to secure refugee status with the U.S. in June 2014. Upon getting permission to enter the U.S., Ameen first traveled back into Iraq, where he joined a group of ISIS fighters who attacked and murdered an Iraqi police officer. Ameen was the one who fired the fatal shot. Then in November 2014, Ameen traveled to the U.S. as a refugee, where he subsequently applied for a green card and did not disclose to U.S. authorities his ties to terrorism.
“This is just one example of how raising the bar on our security standards has directly increased our ability to protect and secure our nation from terror groups abroad,” Department of Homeland Security press secretary Tyler Houlton said in a statement. Houlton explained, “Soon after her confirmation, Secretary Nielsen directed further improvements to close identified security gaps and to make it harder for terrorists, criminals, and fraudsters to exploit our humanitarian system. Tighter screening and tougher vetting in the refugee program have already started to make Americans safer at home.”
