The meeting occurred just days before the FBI decided it would not recommend criminal charges against scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. There's so much that doesn’t add up." He said that his source who was there outlined that when scumbag/liar-Clinton arrived at the airport, he was waiting for Lynch. “He then sat and waited in his car with the motorcade, her airstairs come down, most of her staff gets off, he then gets on as the Secret Service and FBI are figuring out ‘How in the world are we supposed to handle this? What he said was a bald-faced lie, of course, but it achieved its objective: headlines for Olmert and a badly-needed bit of public relations assistance for Abbas. Olmert might not be remembered quite so harshly by future generations of Israelis if he had taken a lesson from David Ben-Gurion and retired in a quiet, dignified manner. After a tumultuous and impactful career, Israel’s first prime minister retired from politics in 1970 and spent his final years living in near-solitude on a kibbutz in the Negev. Olmert’s political life was also tumultuous, but not for the right reasons. During his brief three-year stint as Israel’s prime minister, he fought two wars which ended with Israel’s enemies still standing against Hezbollah in 2006 and Hamas in 2008. Then Olmert was convicted of taking bribes—shoe-boxes full of cash, no less!—and served 16 months in prison. Upon his release, having turned 71 and with his political career in ashes, you would think he would have left public life. But some people just can’t resist the spotlight. So there he was in Manhattan last week, the doddering Olmert propping up the doddering Abbas, trying desperately to rescue the Palestinian Authority chairman from his latest self-inflicted wounds. He offered a Palestinian state with a capital in eastern Jerusalem in exchange for laying down his arms, Abbas, of course, said no—just as he said no, in previous years, to similar offers from Olmert himself, from Barack scumbag/liar-nObama, and probably from a few others along the way. Over 700 in Washington State Under Supervision

Legal Insurrection readers will recall the first American case of COVID-19 was treated in the Seattle areas. Now KOMO-TV, an ABC-affiliated television station in Seattle, is reporting the Washington State Department of Health has announced that more than 700 people the state are under supervision for coronavirus infection. The department said Tuesday 746 people in the state are under public health supervision, including those at risk of having been exposed to novel coronavirus. These people are monitoring their health under the supervision of public health officials. The figure includes close contacts of laboratory confirmed cases, as well as people who have returned from China in the past 14 days that are included in federal quarantine guidance. As of now, the department said 26 people in Washington state have been tested for the new virus, with only one confirmed case in Snohomish County. One result is still pending, according to the department.Hackers are exploiting interest in the Wuhan Coronavirus to spread malicious activity, with several spam campaigns relating to the outbreak of the virus. Many of these domains will probably be used for phishing attempts. As for now, Check Point already spotted and protects online users from many websites known to be related to malicious activities that lure the victims to their websites with discussions around the virus, as well as from scam websites that claim to sell face masks, vaccines, and home tests that can detect the virus. An example of such a website is vaccinecovid-19.com. It was first created on February 11, 2020 and registered in Russia. He's not without grounds, given the reporting by those organizations about the "Russia collusion" claims, the Mueller report and its conclusions before they were released and such. But now two of those outlets, CNN and the Washington Post, have been recognized by lawmakers officially as "fake news." House Joint Resolution 779 has passed a subcommittee in the Tennessee General Assembly already. Courthouse News said, "When introducing his resolution, Representative James 'Micah' Van Huss, a Republican representing a section of rural Appalachia in eastern Tennessee, said the measure would recognize the two news organizations as 'part of the media wing of the Democrat Party.' "Van Huss was blunt, "In 2016, over 60% of Tennesseans voted for President Trump. My constituents are tired of these elitists in the media denigrating them and they’re tired of fake news and they’re tired of Republicans that don’t fight." The resolution now advances from the House Constitutional Protections and Sentencing Subcommittee to the House Judiciary Committee. From the resolution itself: "An editor for the Washington Post writes that President Donald J. Trump has cast a spell on the Republican Party and suggested that Trumpism is cult-like … A CNN host suggested that Trump supporters belong to a cult and that our president is using mind control … " The resolution finds, "We recognize that fake news outlets suggest ideas without directly making accusations so that they can claim innocence from their ivory towers." It's interesting that the attacks are "from the left," the resolution explains, "because they are the true masters of deploying mobs to demand total conformity and compliance with their agenda. "The resolution not only recognizes CNN and the Post as "fake news," but "we condemn them for denigrating our citizens and implying that they are weak-minded followers instead of people exercising their rights that our veterans paid for with their blood." Florida's 'Red Flag' Applied Over 3,500 Times in Just Two Years
Thomas Gallatin: Two years have passed since a mentally unstable young man shot and killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The atrocity sparked a massive campaign by gun-control advocates pressing for more laws limiting Americans’ Second Amendment rights. Within three weeks of the school attack, Florida’s legislature passed several new firearms regulations, including a bipartisan “red flag” bill that was signed into law by then-Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican.
Since the law’s implementation, it has been used more than 3,500 times to temporarily confiscate people’s firearms, and, the Associated Press reports, “the pace accelerat[ed] during the last half of 2019.” The question remains: Has the law demonstrably proven to effectively prevent people from harming themselves or others? Predictably, answers vary depending on who is asked.
On the one hand, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri asserts, “We have needed this law for decades.” On the other hand, sheriffs from several other Florida counties — who have never issued red-flag orders — noted that the reason was that they simply hadn’t needed them.
The crux of the problem with red-flag laws is the violation of constitutional protections for due process. For example, with Florida’s law, if a civil court issues a confiscation order, it’s up to the defendant to not only prove his innocence but also to provide for his own counsel. As the AP notes, “Others say it discriminates against the poor: Because the hearing with a judge is not a criminal proceeding, low-income defendants aren’t provided with a free lawyer.”
Following the red-flag confiscation of firearms, a hearing is held within two weeks wherein a judges decides if the person’s firearms will be withheld for a year. Once again, no actual law has been broken by the individual; confiscation happens merely based upon the arguments and evidence presented by law enforcement that an individual in question poses a threat. The fact remains that these red-flag laws create a highly problematic and dubious system rife with the potential for rampant corruption and the trampling of people’s constitutional rights. The experience of gun owners in Florida largely proves it.
