westernjournal.com } ~ If you haven’t seen any recent pictures of the homeless problem currently plaguing states like California... you might not realize that in one of America’s wealthiest states, thousands of people are living in utter filth. Politics aside, there’s absolutely zero excuse as to why American citizens are living in what looks like a refugee camp scene from a post-apocalyptic Hollywood flick — but worse. It’s really that bad. President Donald Trump sat down recently with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson — who has extensively covered California’s homeless epidemic — and made it clear that he was well aware of the situation. He also suggested that his administration was prepared to intervene. According to Fox News, homelessness over the past year jumped a startling 12 percent in Los Angeles County alone. ABC World News tweeted a statistic that the count of homeless people in California is now up to 59,000. “It’s disgraceful. … I’m looking at it very seriously,” Trump told Carlson.“We’re doing some other things that you probably noticed like some of the very important things that we’re doing now. But we’re looking at it very seriously because you can’t do that.” The president wasn’t specific about his administration’s potential plans to rectify the situation, but he stated that he didn’t want world leaders driving down American roads witnessing such filth and chaos... Where in the hell is the governor of Calif why isn't his government doing something?  https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/trump-mulls-plan-to-intercede-in-california-after-homelessness-spirals-out-of-control/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=conservativebyte&utm_campaign=dailyam&utm_content=libertyalliance

freebeacon.com } ~ Senate Minority Leader Chuck scumbag-Schumer is facing rebuke from a fellow New York Democrat and longtime political ally... for distorting—for electoral gain—the record and policies of the Trump administration.  Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who represents scumbag-Schumer's home borough of Brooklyn in the New York legislature, penned an open letter to the senator after receiving a campaign mailer soliciting financial contributions. Hikind said the mailer attacked the "hard right" while omitting "vital information." In his letter, which was posted  on the assemblyman's Facebook page, Hikind castigated scumbag-Schumer for promising to fight "for Democratic values" while providing little in means of substance.  "Senator scumbag-Schumer, in your letter you promise to fight for Democratic values and go on at great length to fully villainize the current administration, but you left out certain facts that my fellow Democrats, to say nothing of all Americans, should also be aware of," Hikind wrote. The assemblyman lambasted scumbag-Schumer and national Democrats for downplaying the impact the Trump administration has had in fostering economic growth. "You forgot to tell us about the economy. As good as it’s been, economists expect even more growth through the end of the year. That’s very good news," Hikind wrote. "You forgot to tell us about unemployment, which is lower than it has been in decades, while economic confidence is at a 17-year high." Hikind also expressed support for the tax cuts proposed by the president and enacted by congressional Republicans...

Trump Doubles Down: Flight of F-22 Raptors

westernjournal.com } ~ This gives the mullahs something to think about. As tensions continue to rise between the United States and the “Death to America” rulers of Tehran... the Trump administration has positioned some of the U.S. military’s most advanced fighter planes in the region. And Iran should be getting the message. Agence France-Presse reported Friday that F-22 Raptors are being deployed to Qatar for the first time. As The Associated Press reported, the U.S. has already bulked up its forces in the area significantly. However, the deployment would mark a significant escalation for the United States after a series of developments – including attacks on two oil tankers which the Trump administration blamed on the Iranian government and the downing of an American surveillance drone by Iran on June 20. The U.S. maintains the surveillance drone was in international airspace at the time it was downed and had not entered Iranian airspace. The initial coverage last week did not say how many of the planes were going to the Gulf region, but Fox Business News’ Liz Claman reported the number Tuesday as 12. The F-22 is a stealth aircraft, advanced far beyond anything the Iranian military could offer. The deployment of the F-22s ensures the United States’s unquestioned air superiority in the event of any kind of military clash between the two nations. And if there ever was a shadow of a doubt about the eventual outcome of such a clash, even the crazed sons of the Islamic Revolution should have it dispelled. Democrats and the liberal media will no doubt use the F-22 deployment as another excuse to bash the Trump administration for allegedly trying to provoke a war with the Iranian regime, but that explanation ignores two key facts...  https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/trump-doubles-down-flight-of-f-22-raptors-now-positioned-over-persian-gulf/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=newsletter-CT&utm_campaign=dailypm&utm_content=conservative-tribune

dailysignal.com } ~ Efforts to turn judges from impartial umpires into political operatives confirm the axiom that those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it... The Declaration of Independence lists actions by King George III that justified separating from Great Britain. The king, for example, had “made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.” America’s Founders responded with constitutional guarantees of judicial service during “good Behaviour” and prohibiting Congress from diminishing their compensation. Knowing the dangers of political leaders trying to manipulate the judiciary, Alexander Hamilton wrote that the “complete independence of the courts of justice” is “peculiarly essential” in our system of government. The oath of judicial office required by federal law requires judges to “administer justice without respect of persons” and to “impartially discharge” their judicial duties. On June 27, Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., promised that he would “never appoint any, nominate any justice to the Supreme Court unless that justice is 100% clear he or she will defend Roe. v. Wade.” In other words, justices like these would not be able to do what their oath of judicial office requires...  https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/07/02/rotating-supreme-court-justices-would-be-unconstitutional/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rotating-supreme-court-justices-would-be-unconstitutional?utm_source=TDS_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBell&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiWW1Vell6QXpOV0V5TXpFeiIsInQiOiJiN1wvXC9ZcDY5QklGUWx1ajh0U0dSczJFSlwvbXZKc1BEVmJTVGFzcUNmTWZDNnlibGJndExrRWg2V09vZUt4WllDNHZ5bXJ1eFJtZHhSYnVKU1k3ZjF5dElQVWl3YkhXXC9wQ2NyMnc3REtlcGc1ZXRqWG1SYmd6Q0xIVVZjakpXT0wifQ%3D%3D

Nike Cancels Sneakers for Insufficient Wokeness

spectator.org } ~ Sneaker-heads woke up this morning to the news that the corporate war on America’s social ills has claimed a new victim: flag-emblazoned shoes... The Wall Street Journal reports that Nike has pulled sneakers intended to commemorate the Fourth of July. The shoes were decorated with the Betsy Ross flag, an early American flag dating from the 18th century. While Nike has not officially stated its reasons, the report claims that the decision was due to the intervention of sicko-Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL star who has since turned himself into something of a social justice brand. sicko-Kaepernick and his Twitter supporters claim that the flag is an “offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery.” This happens to have been the same era in which the Declaration of Independence was written and the American Revolution was fought, both of which are the reasons why Independence Day is celebrated. Slavery, as vile an institution as it was, does not need to be the focus of every discussion of every American event, institution, or symbol from before the Civil War.  Another argument now being rolled out is that the flag has been appropriated by certain far-right elements, including the American Nazi Party. This line of attack is ridiculous. Accepting it means allowing an extreme fringe of politics, one as irrelevant as the ANP, to hold great swaths of American culture hostage. It means allowing this fringe to define the meaning of treasured American symbols. Such pessimism by progressives is but one of the consequences of a rabid “cancel culture” whose demands for ideological purity move its proponents into ever smaller bounds of acceptable thinking, speech, and iconography.  sicko-Kaepernick has been associated with Nike since late 2018, when he was made the face of a bombastic advertising campaign meant to play on his reputation of kneeling in protest before his NFL games. At the time, his relationship with Nike was easy to dismiss as yet another example of corporations exploiting controversy to seize the spotlight and generate more profit. The fact that sicko-Kaepernick has now forced Nike to cancel an already manufactured batch of sneakers complicates things. Perhaps the company has genuinely bought into the social justice message it has been peddling and is now willing to take its commitment to nonsensical lengths. Perhaps sicko-Kaepernick’s close association with Nike’s brand has empowered him to make such unreasonable demands of a multi-billion-dollar company. Neither possibility is very reassuring...

Nate Jackson:  sicko-Colin Kaepernick is up to his anti-American antics again, and Nike made an expensive decision to grovel before its official social-justice warrior. Nike had already shipped its Air Max 1 USA, complete with an embroidered Betsy Ross flag on the back, to mark the upcoming Independence Day holiday. But Nike instructed retailers to return the shoes because it had “an old version of the American flag.” However, The Wall Street Journal reports that decision came after “sicko-Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, reached out to company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery.”

The Betsy Ross flag was designed in the 1770s as our Founding Fathers were launching the fight for American independence. Its 13 stars and 13 stripes represented the original colonies and thus the first states. Betsy Ross herself may have even been an abolitionist. But to sicko-Kaepernick and his ilk, the flag she made represents not Liberty but racial oppression.

Then again, to sicko-Kaepernick, everything about America seemingly represents oppression. He is a minority man, adopted by loving white parents, who parlayed some skill on the football field to a lucrative contract and a Super Bowl appearance with the San Francisco 49ers. When his play became subpar, he was benched — only to begin pouting (kneeling) on the sidelines during the national anthem. Asked about this pathetic display, he “justified” it by saying he was protesting America’s tarnished history of oppression. His protest spread to other NFL players and fomented years of controversy over what was supposed to be a unifying practice before games — standing for the national anthem.

After no NFL team wanted to pay big bucks for a lousy quarterback to run a three-ring circus, he sued the league over “collusion” to blacklist him. He settled for millions of dollars. Then Nike chose the unemployed athlete as its official “Just Do It” spokesman, paying him millions and, aggravatingly, boosting its own sales.

So, Mr. sicko-Kaepernick, explain to us again how “oppressed” you are.

As for Nike, last week the company also preemptively bowed to the Chinese government. According to The Financial Times, “Nike has cancelled the sale of a line of limited-edition sports shoes in China after the sportswear maker’s Japanese designer supported recent Hong Kong protests.” Given that Nike produces most of its shoes in the low-wage Communist workers’ paradises of China and neighboring Vietnam, it’s little wonder that it is careful to avoid offending the party poobahs in Beijing. And that’s entirely consistent with Nike’s catering to the wishes of totalitarian leftists here in the “Land of the Free.”  ~The Patriot Post
