{ foxnews.com } ~ Attorney General William Barr is testifying Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, as he faces questions over the handling of Special Counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s Russia report... and accusations from Democrats that he sought to present the investigation’s findings in President Trump’s favor. Barr is expected to be grilled over a Washington Post article that said dirty cop-Mueller contacted Barr to express concerns about the public summary his office put out in March. dirty cop-Mueller made clear he did not feel Barr’s summary was inaccurate, according to The Post and the Justice Department. Rather, dirty cop-Mueller told Barr that media coverage of the letter had “misinterpreted” the results of the probe concerning obstruction of justice. Barr’s testimony Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to last more than three hours. The hearing will provide the attorney general his most extensive opportunity yet to explain the department’s actions.

Yet, much of the anti-Trump left seemingly ignored a crucial detail of the Tuesday report from The Washington Post, which explained that during a phone conversation between the two, the attorney general actually asked the special counsel whether or not his memo was “inaccurate.” “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation,” the letter read, according to the Post. “This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Dept. appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.” Democratic California Rep. scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters called on Barr to resign. Democratic California Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff used the news to undermine the attorney general. Democratic New York Sen. Chuck scumbag-Schumer called on Barr to testify publicly. Liberal attorney Laurence Tribe called for Barr’s impeachment, and that was one of the milder responses...

This week, a report commissioned by four leading human-rights organizations revealed how Mr. Putin, over the past 20 years, “has turned Russia’s legal system into a tool of repression, using it to suppress dissent, undermine political opposition, and detain anyone the Kremlin views as a potential threat,” as veteran activists Irwin Cotler and Katrina Lantos Swett explained in a Wall Street Journal op-ed. It’s often said that America has the world’s strongest military because America has the world’s strongest economy. Russia, however, has a per capita GDP lower than that of Portugal or Poland, and its defense budget has been shrinking. Yet its military is in the global top three. In this and other ways, Mr. Putin plays a weak hand well. Though no communist, he is unburdened by bourgeois sentimentality. Here are some other facts CDC released this week about the 2019 outbreak: 67% of cases are in New York City and New York state. All of the original sources of infection are foreign countries. The most number of cases came in from the Philippines, followed by Ukraine. So far, there are no reports of measles-related brain damage or death, which are very rare. Along with the facts, a great deal of propaganda and misreporting are stoking near-hysteria among some. 1. “Measles was eradicated in the U.S., but now it’s back.” False, according to CDC. “Eradicated” is a term CDC reserves for elimination of a disease worldwide, such as smallpox. Measles was declared “eliminated” from the U.S. in 2000. 2. “Until now, measles hasn’t been seen in the U.S. since 2000 when CDC declared the disease ‘eliminated’.” False, according to CDC. There have been measles outbreaks every year in the U.S. since CDC declared it “eliminated” in 2000. According to CDC, “eliminated” doesn’t mean no cases occur; it means that all cases originate from sources outside of the U.S. Each year, including in 2019, transmission of measles has been sourced exclusively to travelers or visitors who bring in the disease from outside of the U.S., according to CDC. In 2018, 82 people brought measles to the U.S. from other countries. CDC states, that’s “the greated number of imported cases since measles was eliminated from the U.S. in 2000.” Also, according to CDC: many U.S. measles cases in 2014 were sourced to the Philippines. The turnout was high — organizers said 130,000 people took part — in part because the demonstration followed the sentencing of democracy activists for their role in the massive "Occupy Central" protests in 2014. On Wednesday, a lower court handed out prison terms of between eight to 16 months to four of the "Umbrella Nine." Three others received suspended sentences. One person was given 200 hours of community service. The eight individuals — the sentencing of a ninth person was postponed for medical reasons — were convicted of public nuisance offenses in a closely watched proceeding on April 9. The prosecution of the 9 figures was seen, both in Hong Kong and elsewhere, as a sign of Beijing tightening its control over the city. "It's indeed one of the darkest days in Hong Kong history," Tak Ho Fong, host of "Peking Hotel" on Hong Kong-based digital radio station D100, told the Gatestone Institute in e-mail comments. Dark indeed. Nobody strangles democracies like communists, and no communists are more relentless in this regard than Chinese ones. While Economy Roars, Leftists Aim for RecessionLewis Morris: The latest economic news for the first quarter was a welcome announcement. Gross Domestic Product grew by 3.2%, better than any first-quarter numbers in four years and a full percentage point higher than predicted by most economists. All this despite the longest government shutdown in history, an ongoing trade war with China, and anemic stock-market performance to close out 2018.
The economy is humming along better than many would have thought. It’s good news for manufacturers, investors, and workers. It should be good news for President Donald Trump as well — strong economies are frequently the road to reelection. That being the case, the only people not happy with last week’s GDP numbers are leftists.
Democrats will do anything to keep Trump from reelection. And now that their hopes of yanking him out of office in some sad attempt to gin up a collusion charge with Russia have all but failed, they are going to try to manipulate the message to make it seem as if the economy is in fact on the verge of tanking.
This is not an easy task. Even The New York Times, NPR, and CNN have to grudgingly admit that the strong first-quarter numbers can only be interpreted as an economy approaching full steam.
There are many reasons for the strong economic performance. The tax cuts that Democrats said would only benefit the rich have led to working Americans taking home more money in every paycheck. Trump’s aggressive trade stance with China, Mexico, Canada, and the EU that Dems said would crater American manufacturing have actually boosted American companies and led to a hiring binge that has brought millions of people back to work who spent much of the scumbag/liar-nObama years on the sidelines or underemployed. A sustained rollback of scumbag/liar-nObama-era regulations has also freed up businesses to do what they do best — make products, expand, and make money.
The Left has fought against Trump’s actions to improve the economy since the day he took office. In fact, Democrats want a recession because they know a bad economy could defeat Trump in 2020.
This is the level to which the modern Democrat Party has fallen. Democrats cannot win in the war for ideas, so they actively work for economic harm to befall their fellow countrymen in order to seize the White House. Does that sound like a political party that has the best interests of the middle class and the poor in mind? Not for one moment.
Paul Krugman, Larry Summers, and other leftists posing as economists have done their best to downplay the good economic news and put a negative spin on Trump’s economic policies. They have repeatedly predicted disaster, and they have been repeatedly proven wrong.
In the face of this annoying good news, the Leftmedia has turned to pollaganda in an attempt to change people’s minds and hopefully bring on a recession by force of will. In just one example, The Washington Post released the results of a poll purporting to show that the good economic times are not being felt by many Americans.
A general rule: Polls are not to be trusted. Any organization with an agenda — like The Washington Post for instance — can construct a poll to deliver the desired results. In this case, these activists posing as journalists are looking to make the economic recovery appear to be a mirage that is not reaching most Americans.

Facts say differently, though. Women, blacks, and Hispanics are all doing better economically than they have in years, in some cases ever. This inconvenient truth, like other good economic news, either must be refuted by leftists with cleverly designed polls, or remain unreported altogether.
The truth will set us free. However, the Left has a firm grip on the news media, which makes the truth rather difficult to come by. That poses a problem when it comes to the economy. Perception is a powerful force in the marketplace. If enough bad news is reported, regardless of its basis in reality, it can make investors skittish, and it can prevent people from parting with disposable income. For this reason, it is entirely conceivable that a recession could be started through the power of media suggestion alone. And while President Trump won’t get credit in the media for a good economy, you can bet if a recession does kick in, they will put the blame squarely at his feet. ~The Patriot Post
