{ algemeiner.com } ~ Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said on Tuesday that the Tehran regime should not try to drag Israel into the crisis... surrounding the violent riots outside the US Embassy in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad by a pro-Iran mob. If it did so, he warned, “We will respond powerfully.”“From Israel’s perspective,” Katz said, according to Israeli news site Mako, “if Iran tries to drag us into this, beyond demonstrators screaming, ‘Death to Israel,’ we will respond powerfully. I advise Iran not to test our patience.” “This is a dramatic development,” Katz said of the unrest, adding that Iran had a “mistaken understanding of the essence of the American superpower.” “When the US decides to react, they do it powerfully,” he asserted. “They’ve proved that historically.” “Not just the secretary of state, but also President Donald Trump said that this attack on the embassy was carried out by Iran and it will be answered,” Katz noted.

{ breitbart.com  } ~ The federal prosecutor probing the origins of the Russia-collusion hoax has requested “emails, call logs and other documents” from scumbag/commie-John Brennan... former President Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s CIA director turned NBC and MSNBC contributor, the New York Times reported Thursday.  Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, the prosecutor charged with conducting the review into the origins of the Russia collusion probe, “wants to learn what Mr. scumbag/commie-Brennan told other officials, including the former FBI director scumbag-James B. Comey, about his and the C.I.A.’s views of a notorious dossier of assertions about Russia and Trump associates,” the Times noted, adding: Mr. Durham’s pursuit of Mr. scumbag/commie-Brennan’s records is certain to add to accusations that Mr. Trump is using the Justice Department to go after his perceived enemies. The president has long attacked Mr. scumbag/commie-Brennan as part of his narrative about a so-called deep state cabal of scumbag/liar-nObama administration officials who tried to sabotage his campaign, and Mr. Trump has held out Mr. Durham’s investigation as a potential avenue for proving those claims. scumbag/commie-Brennan is considered an ardent critic of the Trump administration. Durham is also investigating whether scumbag/commie-Brennan “privately contradicted his public comments, including May 2017 testimony to Congress, about both the dossier and about any debate among the intelligence agencies over their conclusions on Russia’s interference,” the Times learned...

5 Predictions For The Next
Five Years Of Global Power Struggles

{ thefederalist.com } ~ In 2008, as the scumbag/liar-nObama administration prepared to take control in Washington, retired Army Gen. Barry McCaffrey offered a list of bold predictions for the coming five years... Some of them bore out: The economy performed well globally despite the Great Recession, relations with Russia became more hostile without devolving into outright dysfunction, and the United States withdrew from Iraq right at the 36-month mark, which McCaffrey specified. Other predictions, such as a North Korean collapse, improved prospects for success in Afghanistan following a massive commitment of resources, and a nuclear breakout for Iran, never occurred. A year later, geopolitical analyst George Friedman published the widely read “The Next 100 Years.” Like McCaffrey, Friedman correctly predicted a new cold war between the United States and Russia, but he also foresaw the emergence of Turkey as a major regional power, the consequences of demographic change in Europe and North America, and tensions between the United States and Mexico as instability in Latin America threatens to generate a crisis on the southern border. Friedman got some things wrong, to be sure, but the number of things he got right is fascinating. Making accurate predictions is no easy feat, leading some to take the “wait and see” approach. However, I offer six predictions, in no particular order, that will have serious implications for American national security and foreign policy in the 2020s. 1. Russia Will Lose Great Power Status 2. China Will Double Down on Authoritarianism 3. Japan Will Rise as Asia’s Powerhouse 4. Germany Will Flirt with the Idea of Leaving the EU 5. Latin America Will Become America’s No.1 National Security Challenge...

{ dailycaller.com } ~ In a shocking development in the hunt to locate those responsible for the massacre of nine U.S. citizens at the hands of suspected cartel gunmen... authorities arrested a Mexican police chief. Federal authorities arrested Fidel Alejandro Villegas, the police chief of Janos, a small town in the state of Chihuahua, earlier this week, Mexico’s Public Security Ministry  announced Friday. Villegas is suspected of not only being involved in local organized crime, but of also having a hand in the killings that took place in November. The arrest confirms a longstanding criticism of the country’s law enforcement: that many are on cartels’ payroll. “It’s common knowledge down here that the police work with the criminals,” Julián LeBarón, a relative of the victims, told The New York Times. “They have a monopoly on security and they get paid a wage for protection, and later we find out that they participate in the murder of women and children,” he continued. “These people take resources to protect us and they are murderers themselves.” The arrest follows the Nov. 4 murders of a binational Mexican-American Mormon family. While driving through a remote area near the southern border, the family was suddenly gunned down by suspected members of a cartel. The massacre left three women and their six children — two of whom were infants — dead. It’s still not entirely clear why the family was targeted, but authorities suspect they were mistakenly suspected of belonging to a rival cartel...  https://dailycaller.com/2019/12/28/mexican-police-chief-arrested-mormon/

{ dailycaller.com } ~ The Constellation Orion may look very different soon if astronomers are right about the giant star Betelgeuse which marks the starry hunter’s right shoulder... Betelgeuse was once in among the top 10 brightest  stars in the night sky, but since October it’s been dimming so much that it’s no longer even in the top 20, according to The Astronomer’s Telegram. This is remarkable for a star that is 20 times more massive than our sun. This reduction in brilliance is significant because the dimming of a star often foreshadows an incredibly bright, explosive conclusion to the life of a stellar body in the form of a supernova, according to National Geographic. If Betelgeuse were to go supernova, it would put on a show for the ages as it collapses into itself and detonates. From earth, this event would be clearly observable, briefly outshining even a full moon in our night sky before going dark forever, reports National Geographic. “Betelgeuse is living on borrowed time and could explode as a supernova any day now,” Fraser Cain, publisher of Universe Today explained recently on his  YouTube channel. However, he also noted that it “might not detonate for another 100,000 years, we just don’t know.”...   https://dailycaller.com/2019/12/30/giant-star-explode-scientists-orion/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=11441

Victimize 19,000 Children in 2019

by clarionproject.org ~ Despite the publicity given to UK’s Pakistani sex grooming gangs since 2012, close to 19,000 children have been victimized by UK sex grooming gangs in 2019... The number represents a 3,300 increase from five years ago. In a report by the Independent, activists say the true number is much higher, as many of these crimes go unreported. After underage girls are groomed using drugs and alcohol, many are reluctant to go to the authorities as their groomers convince them that due to the illegality of the substances, the victims themselves will be punished. The exploitation has been widely known to local government officials, social workers and law enforcement officials for over a decade. However, for fear of being called racists, authorities took no steps to prevent the horrific abuse of young, white British girls. Sarah Champion is a Labour MP from Rotherham where the story broke in 2012 and a tireless campaigner for the victims of these gangs. In 2017, Champion was forced to resign from her position as shadow opposition secretary for women and equalities after writing an article in The Sun telling the facts about the sex grooming gangs: Frustrated that years after recommendations were made to endless government commissions with no measures taken to support victims and prevent such abuse in the future, Champion wrote, “Britain has a problem with British Pakistani men raping and exploiting white girls … There. I said it. Does that make me a racist? Or am I just prepared to call out this horrifying problem for what it is?”...   https://clarionproject.org/uk-sex-grooming-gangs-victimize-19000-children-in-2019/?utm_source=Clarion+Project+Newsletter&utm_campaign=7cbab34b96-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_12_31_02_06&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_60abb35148-7cbab34b96-6442509&mc_cid=7cbab34b96&mc_eid=b83b13a9b5
Taliban says it ‘has no intention
of declaring a ceasefire’
By BILL ROGGIO
{ longwarjournal.org } ~ The Taliban has denied press reports indicating the group was on the cusp of declaring a ceasefire in Afghanistan, saying this is “false and baseless.”... Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid issued an official statement denying the reports, which claimed that the group’s ruling council has approved a ceasefire, thereby opening the door for possible intra-Afghan negotiations. However, it was unclear if the reported ceasefire would include Taliban attacks against the Afghan government and security forces. The reported ceasefire agreement was sourced to “Taliban officials familiar with the negotiations” who “spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media,” the Associated Press reported on Dec. 29. Mujahid chastised the media for “publishing false and baseless reports about a ceasefire by the Islamic Emirate,” the name the Taliban calls its official government. Mujahid also denied that there is a “supposed schism within the Islamic Emirate on the issue of a ceasefire.” “The reality of the situation is that the Islamic Emirate has no intention of declaring a ceasefire,” he continued. Mujahid said the Taliban’s Rabhari Shura, which better known as the Quetta Shura, was considering “a reduction in the scale and intensity of violence,” which was requested by the U.S. negotiating team...   https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2019/12/taliban-says-it-has-no-intention-of-declaring-a-ceasefire.php

California’s long tradition of advancing nation-leading legislation continues into the new year, with laws reining in the gig economy, boosting online privacy and discouraging shootings by police, among other potential trend-setters.

The laws have sent jobs-producing businesses like Uber, Lyft and Google scrambling — raised the ire of law enforcement, and drawn negative reaction from President Donald Trump.

The state dominated by Democrats routinely locks horns with the White House on immigration and other issues,

But the state’s Democrats lost a major fight when legislation requiring Trump to reveal his tax returns was found unconstitutional by their own state Supreme Court — in a unanimous decision.

Some of the higher-profile new laws taking effect Jan. 1 include:

Hitting Job Creators, Workers

California is making it harder for many industries to treat workers like contractors instead of employees who are entitled to minimum wage and other benefits such as workers compensation. The Legislature carved out certain exemptions after the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of workers at the delivery company Dynamex in 2018...

Restricting cops

Two new laws together give California one of the nation’s most comprehensive approaches to restricting police use of force. One changes the legal standard for when police can use deadly force, while the companion law increases officers’ training on how to handle confrontations...

Online privacy

The nation’s most sweeping data privacy law takes effect with the new year. The law passed in 2018 requires companies to tell consumers what data they collect about them, why it was collected and who sees it. Consumers can refuse to let companies sell that data, and companies are barred from selling data from children younger than 16 without consent...

Limiting school and employer authority

California becomes the first state to bar workplace and school discrimination against black people for wearing hairstyles such as braids, twists and locks. The new law says hairstyles are associated with race and therefore protected against discrimination...

Vaccinations

State public health officials have new tools to crack down on doctors who write fraudulent medical exemptions for schoolchildren’s vaccinations, after the most emotionally charged legislative debate of the year repeatedly drew hundreds of supporters and opponents to the Capitol...

Restricting property rights

Landlords will be barred from raising yearly rent prices by more than 5 percent plus the cost of inflation under a new law that drew supporters who said they can no longer afford the state’s soaring housing costs. Landlords also won’t be allowed to evict someone without a reason or refuse to rent to someone solely because they have a federal Section 8 housing voucher...

Child sex assault

California is joining several other states in giving adults who were sexually assaulted as children more time to sue, a measure expected to trigger multitudes of new lawsuits against the Catholic church, Boy Scouts of America and other organizations...
