BREAKING NEWS: Around 200 pro-amnesty activists blocked all traffic this afternoon by sitting down in the middle of the street that runs between the Capitol and the House office buildings. Some 40 of them were arrested, according to Politico.

YOUR PHONE CALLS TODAY HAVE TO BE THE CIVIL COUNTER-FORCE TO THE BULLY TACTICS OF THE OTHER SIDE

You have to kind of feel sorry for the Republican Representatives who are being threatened at every turn if they don't allow an unrestricted amnesty to come to the House floor for a vote.

If a bill doubling the importation of foreign workers isn't passed, a new letter to Congress signed by 400 businesses warns ominously:

"Failure to act is not an option"

Dozens of business coalitions have promised to show up at August town hall meetings to demand the foreign labor that they say they must have to survive and to thrive -- during the fifth year of the worst unemployment era in decades.

And just a few minutes ago, we had the spectacle on Capitol Hill of Labor Union officials and leaders of other pro-amnesty groups breaking the law to demand that Republicans consent to reward 11 million people who have broken immigration laws.

And it looks to get uglier, according to this quote from Politico:

"When you want policymakers to see the light, sometimes you gotta raise the heat," Frank Sharry, the executive director of America's Voice, said shortly before he was arrested. "And that's what we're doing today. It's a sign of the kind of escalation of tactics and demands from around the country that are going to pressure the House Republicans until they schedule a vote on citizenship."

I'm not asking you to sit down in the middle of a street or to "escalate" tactics. I just want you to make a simple phone call to calmly speak as a citizen, asking your Representative to block any bill from coming to the House floor that would lead to an increase in foreign workers competing with Americans for jobs and resources.

Please call today and all day Friday.

As U.S. Representatives prepare to leave Capitol Hill for their August recess, make sure the lasting impression they have is of their phones ringing off the hook thanking them in advance for keeping any amnesty or foreign-worker increase from coming to the House floor.

TALKING POINTS

Tell the staffer who answers the phone that this is your message for the congressman/woman:

* Don't be intimidated by the street demonstrations and law-breaking going on outside your offices.

* The street demonstration today outside your office looks like what pro-amnesty forces are threatening to do in your district. Please be aware that while there were 200 people sitting down in the middle of Independence Avenue today demanding amnesty, there are 20 MILLION Americans who are sitting at home because they can't find a full-time job.

* I know that there are a lot of businesses and business lobbyists who are pressuring Rep. Xmxmxm to pass an amnesty and increase the number of immigrant workers. But are they really willing to stand up in the middle of all the unemployed people in our district and say that they refuse to hire the unemployed Americans that surround them?

* I hope Rep. Xmxmmxmx will tell any business lobbyist who demands more immigrant labor to raise their pay if they are truly having any trouble filling their jobs, because there are 20 million Americans who say they can't find a full-time job.

* The disruptive open-borders demonstrators outside your office couldn't be farther away from the views and style of most people in your/our district. We expect you to put the needs of the citizens and legal immigrants in the district ahead of bullies who demand special treatment.

An example of the committed citizens who will exercise their civic duty in representing the needs of Americans over the business and union leader bullying is the number of people who were on the phone with our NumbersUSA tele-townhall Tuesday night:

58,770

I was quoted in USA Today this morning as saying 40,000, but found out that the real number was 58,770. That's an incredible turnout of people preparing to make a difference while the Representatives are back home in their districts during August.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOUSE: 'FAILURE TO ACT' ON IMMIGRATION 'NOT AN OPTION'

by TONY LEE

The United States Chamber of Commerce sent a letter on behalf of more than 400 businesses and groups to the House of Representatives on Tuesday, urging action on immigration reform.
"Failure to act is not an option," the Chamber of Commerce wrote in a letter addressed to House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). "We can't afford to be content and watch a generation-old immigration system work more and more against our overall national interest."
Groups that signed the letter stated they had already "been engaged with many members of Congress--Republicans and Democrats--on numerous components of a modern immigration system, and we urge that you not let this momentum slip and progress vanish."
The letter continued, "The problems with our immigration system have grown and multiplied to become an emerging threat to the current and future productivity, ingenuity, and competitiveness of key sectors of our economy, including agriculture, housing, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, tourism, engineering, and technology."
"We are united in the belief that we can and must do better for our economy and country by modernizing our immigration system," the letter

states.
Groups like Google, Facebook, American Action Network and American Action Forum, which will engage in a grass-roots strategy in August to pressure House Republicans to support immigration reform, also signed the letter. Many of these groups reportedly attended secret meetings with the "Gang of Eight" Senators who wrote the immigration bill to plot strategies targeting House Republicans in order to get comprehensive immigration reform passed.
On Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM 125, Numbers USA Executive Director Roy Beckexplicitly stated that these industry groups have always been the driving force behind so-called comprehensive immigration reform in order to drive down wages of working class Americans in all industries, to the benefit of business.
