No Religious Test? Actually, Yes, There Is
During his Monday press conference in Turkey, Barack nObama slammed opponents of his agenda to flood our nation with Syrian refugees. "When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted ... that’s shameful," he lectured. "That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion."
Except American law says we do have a religious test for admitting refugees (in contrast with no religious test for holding public office). Specifically, former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy notes, "Under federal law, the executive branch is expressly required to take religion into account in determining who is granted asylum. Under the provision governing asylum (section 1158 of Title 8, U.S. Code), an alien applying for admission 'must establish that ... religion [among other things] ... was or will be at least one central reason for persecuting the applicant.'" Furthermore, Section 1101(a)(42)(A) of Title 8, U.S. Code defines a refugee as a person "who is unable or unwilling to return to ... that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of ... religion [among other things]."
The reason we have asylum laws, and the reason they are geared toward a religious test, is that refugees are often fleeing their homeland because of religious persecution. The Islamic State is specifically and horrifically targeting Christians for persecution, slavery (including for sex) and death. Yet just 53 of the Syrian refugees nObama has admitted since 2011 have been Christians.
Exit question: Remember the time nObama fought extra hard to deport a Christian homeschooling family back to Germany? Was that a religious test?  -The Patriot Post

But Before Russia Commits to Attacking the Islamic State...
Everyone wants the Islamic State thrown upon the ash heap of history. But while Barack nObama expected Russia to fall in line with his coalition to do something about the Islamic State, Russia's involvement comes with some demands, demonstrating that there is a power struggle to figure out just who is the top dog in Middle East policy. nObama and other Western leaders want Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad deposed and a fledgling government established with the mission to spearhead the defeat of the Islamic State. How's that working in Libya?
But in comments Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia's puppet dictator has to stay for Moscow to turn its attention from bombing moderate Syrian rebels threatening Assad to the caliphate. "It seems to me there are no longer any doubts that it is simply unacceptable to put forward any pre-conditions for joining forces in the fight against terror," Lavrov said. Perhaps nObama and Co. thought Russia would remember that old "reset" button because the Islamic State bombed its passenger jet that left 224 people dead in the Sinai desert. But Lavrov said it was the West that needed to find its focus after the Paris attacks. He continued, "I hope that the change in position of our Western colleagues — which unfortunately came at the cost of the terrible terror attacks — will be seen on the part of our other Western partners."
Frankly, it's hard to fathom why nObama still prioritizes ousting Assad over dealing with the Islamic State. nObama probably feels like he's about to get kinged on the checkerboard, as he will demand Russia and Iran distance themselves over the fight in Syria. But Russia already has the most influence in the region. Vladimir Putin is three moves ahead on the chessboard.  -The Patriot Post

Secret Service Hitmen Get Slap on the Wrist
They say the best way to ensure a permanent job is to become a government employee. Whether we're talking about the IRS or the VA, the adage is truer than ever. Both agencies have tolerated and even rewarded insidious behavior. Well, now you can add to the list a third federal bureaucracy — the Secret Service. Recall that the agency has made a mockery of itself and even jeopardized national security under the nObama administration. For example, agents rendezvoused with prostitutes in Colombia and allowed a knife-wielding man to breach the White House perimeter. It's no wonder Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, initiated a probe earlier this year. But in an almost surreal twist, dozens of agents retaliated by exposing confidential information on Chaffetz. It was nothing less than a smear campaign designed to punish the enforcer. Did we mention it is also illegal?
This week, a very "apologetic" Secret Service Director Joseph P. Clancy revealed what his agency plans to do about it. "I would like to publicly renew my apology for this breach of trust and affirm my commitment to restoring it," he told Congress, adding he's "determined to ensure all employees are held to the highest standard of professional conduct." However, the punishment, as reported by the Associated Press, isn't exactly what we would call hardline: "Clancy said most agents were receiving between three and 12 days of suspension. Supervisors have not yet been disciplined, which Clancy said could range from a letter of reprimand to being fired." Rep. Scott Perry, obviously befuddled, responded, "The toughest disciplinary action right now is not a loss or revocation of your security clearance, is not a loss of your employment — it's 12 days suspension." Our own Mark Alexander considers the Secret Service's attempt at intimidating a sitting Congressman tantamount to IRS targeting, only this was more specific and more egregious by a law enforcement agency. The incident, he says, ranks right up there with the worst sabotages of any member of Congress. Giving miscreants a slap on the wrist and calling it "punishment" is exactly why Americans have next to no trust in the federal government.  -The Patriot Post

Debate spreads about Saudi dairy drilling wells in arid Arizona
{Nathan Halverson} ~ Arizonans are debating what actions to take after a Reveal investigationshowed the state’s limited aquifers are being drained to grow and ship crops overseas... Local leaders in La Paz County, where a Saudi dairy company bought 15 square miles of land to grow water-intensive hay for export back to the Middle East, are asking Gov. Doug Ducey and state officials for help, the Associated Press reports: “We just want to make sure the people who have lived here, who have invested in La Paz County will not run out of water,” said county Supervisor Holly Irwin.       https://www.revealnews.org/blog/debate-spreads-about-saudi-dairy-drilling-wells-in-arid-arizona/?utm_source=Reveal%20Newsletters&utm_campaign=01322dac59-The_Weekly_Reveal_11_19_15&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c38de7c444-01322dac59-229916753

Surprise: Since Nuclear Deal, Iran's Uranium Stockpile Has Grown
{Guy Benson} ~ President nObama's terrible Iran deal -- opposed by a bipartisan majority in Congress and the electorate -- is off to quite a start... Over the last two-plus months, the regime has imposed a sham conviction upon a Washington Post journalist, detained another American citizen, released five top-level Al Qaeda prisoners, and test fired a long-range ballistic missile in violation of international law -- including the new agreement. Fortunately for Tehran, the nObama administration long ago severed nuclear pact talks from any Western concerns about Iran's human rights abuses and material support for terrorism, with Sec. hanoi-Kerry even asserting that breaches of the deal's arms embargo- and missile program-related clauses would not constitute an actionable contravention of the overall agreement.  Late yesterday, Reuters reported a new, inauspicious detail: If this revelation feels familiar, that's because it should.  Having allegedly "frozen" enrichment during negotiations with the West, it was revealed in June that the regime's nuclear stockpile had increased by approximately 20 percent over an 18-month period, a development shrugged off by the White House.  The president told Congress earlier this year that Iran's enrichment had been "halted" and its stockpile "reduced."  Not so.  Here we go again.

Attkisson: nObama Is Flat Out Refusing to Hear Intel on Islamic Terror
{Katie Pavlich} ~ Host of Full Measure and investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson dropped a bombshell of information today during an interview with Steve Malzberg... According to sources close to the White House who Attkisson has spoken to, President nObama is now flat out refusing to accept or hear about intelligence surrounding radical Islamic terror groups. "I have talked to people who have worked in the nObama administration who firmly believe he has made up his mind, I would say closed his mind, they say, to the intelligence they try to bring him about various groups he does not consider terrorists even if they're on the U.S. list of designated terrorists," Attkisson said. "I don't know the reasoning for it I’ve only been told by those who have allegedly attempted to present him or been in the circle that has attempted to present him with certain intelligence that they said he doesn’t want it, he said he doesn't want it or he won't read it in some instances."       http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2015/11/19/attkisson-souce-obama-is-flat-out-refusing-to-hear-intel-on-radical-islam-n2082963?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl_pm&newsletterad=

 God Is Unchanging; Believe It
{David Limbaugh} ~ Unbeknownst to many in our culture, including even some Christians, the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament. God, the Bible assures us, is unchanging... Our secular culture mischaracterizes Jesus as a hyper-tolerant, nondiscriminatory liberal who is indifferent to sin and passes judgment on no one. But Jesus is not a milquetoast pacifist. In his Sermon on the Mount, which many cite as evidence of his unique moral teachings, he set out nearly impossible standards of human conduct. He didn't say, "I don't care how you live." Rather, he said, "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Indeed, the Bible depicts Christ as the ultimate judge of mankind. He discussed the subject of hell more than any other.

Cheap solar energy: An nObama FRAUD
{Jeff Dunetz} ~ Solar energy is the latest example of every time the U.S. government picks winners and losers in the marketplace, the big loser is the American taxpayer... By 2017 the federal crutch for the solar industry (tax credits) expires and according to many different sources the solar energy industry will collapse like a house of cards. And while the progressives like nObama keep talking about the “rich” needing to do their fair share, because of the expense of setting up solar panels those solar energy tax credits are going to wealthier families with larger  houses. Gee that’s not very liberal of them. And as it represents such a tiny amount of U.S. electricity, (0.004 of the total output) there is doubt to whether it will ever be an important part of the future U.S. energy source.        http://lidblog.com/cheap-solar-energy-an-obama-fraud/?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_campaign=791a85cb92-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-791a85cb92-291705165#

Senate resolution: No climate deal without a vote
{JOHN SICILIANO} ~ A bipartisan group of senators sent a strong message to President nObama Thursday with a resolution that says there won't be a climate change deal next month in Paris without the Senate's approval... nObama has made signing a global deal to cut emissions a major part of his final year in office. In response, Senate Republicans have ramped up efforts to block his climate change agenda, saying that any deal wouldn't have the support of the American people and would increase costs. The non-binding resolution says nObama cannot agree to the deal without the consent of Congress. It was introduced Thursday by GOP Sens. James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Roy Blunt of Missouri, in addition to Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

 Will other insurers ditch nObamacare?
{PAIGE WINFIELD CUNNINGHAM} ~ UnitedHealth Group's threatened exit next year from nObamacare raises a dark question that could determine the future of President nObama's healthcare law: Will other insurers follow suit?... It would be a sharp ding to nObama's signature healthcare law should the nation's largest insurer decide to stop selling plans through the law's online marketplaces. United said Thursday it is considering pulling out after the current enrollment season ends in January, citing major losses from the nObamacare plans. "We cannot sustain these losses," CEO Stephen Hemsley said on a conference call. "We can't really subsidize a marketplace that doesn't appear at the moment to be sustaining itself."       http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/will-other-insurers-bail-out-of-obamacare/article/2576806

nObama Pushes France into Putin’s Arms
{Cliff Kincaid} ~ President nObama’s deliberately defeatist foreign policy has scored another major victory for Russia. He has pushed NATO member France and its weak socialist president into the arms of Russia’s Vladimir Putin... It may be that François Hollande felt that he had no alternative to deal with the international terrorist networks that have targeted his country and were begun decades ago by the old Soviet Union. For those with short memories, in the 1980s the U.S. Congress examined in detail the origins, direction and support of international terrorist networks, which were then also based in the Middle East and Europe. A 1981 report by the Senate Subcommittee on Security and Terrorism cited evidence that most of the terrorist groups at that time were Soviet-financed and Cuban-trained. A concrete example was “Carlos the Jackal,” the Marxist terrorist trained by the Cubans and controlled by the KGB who eventually converted to Islam. The roots of terrorism are in Russia. Former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko was murdered by Putin’s regime in London, most likely because he exposed KGB training of al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. ISIS is a spin-off from al Qaeda. President Reagan had rallied NATO governments in Europe against a Soviet nuclear threat and the international communist-backed terror networks operating during the 1980s. Today, under nObama, NATO is in disarray, and international terrorist groups are back on the march.

U.S. Pilots: nObama Blocks 75% of Islamic State Strikes
{conservativebyte.com} ~ nObama is doing everything in his power to ensure that Islamic State can continue their terror... U.S. military pilots who have returned from the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq are confirming that they were blocked from dropping 75 percent of their ordnance on terror targets because they could not get clearance to launch a strike, according to a leading member of Congress. Strikes against the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL) targets are often blocked due to an nObama administration policy to prevent civilian deaths and collateral damage, according to Rep. Ed Royce (R., Calif.), chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The policy is being blamed for allowing Islamic State militants to gain strength across Iraq and continue waging terrorist strikes throughout the region and beyond, according to Royce and former military leaders who spoke Wednesday about flaws in the U.S. campaign to combat the Islamic State.        http://conservativebyte.com/2015/11/u-s-pilots-obama-blocks-75-of-islamic-state-strikes/#

nObama’s “Jihadi Lives Matter” Pro-Islamist Policies Threatening...
{ickwells.us} ~ Lt Col Ralph Peters opens with the ominous statement, “Increasingly in the greater Middle East, extremism is mainstream.”... He goes on to remind those watching that Turkey, the nation in which the soccer fans were booing the moment of silence for the Paris terrorist victims, whistling and shouting “Allahu Akbar,” is a NATO member. Peters continues, noting that President Erdogan of Turkey, Hussein nObama’s good friend, is never criticized by the regime in spite of his oppressive government that is dragging Turkey back into fundamentalism. He notes under Erdogan Turkey is imprisoning more journalists per capita than China and closing down media outlets, and “Erdogan is Muslim Brotherhood.” He says, “nObama clearly thinks the Muslim Brotherhood, as we saw in Egypt, is the answer to the Middle East problems, it’s not.”        http://rickwells.us/archives/22482

{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ Who does not love Paris? Puritans do not love Paris. Puritans hate, music, song, dance, poetry, fun and love. Today, such people are represented above all by extremist Muslim doctrinaire fundamentalists. They seem to despise women without veils; call music Satanic; regard painted images as an insult to an angry God; consider football a sin, and a restaurant serving wine as the embodiment of evil. They do not respond to a life-affirming bustle and the ideals an open, tolerant, democratic, liberal, humanitarian, egalitarian West.
.
When Sir Karl Popper wrote, at the end of the Second World War in 1945, his two-volume classic, The Open Society and its Enemies, he laid bare the evils of totalitarian systems, both left and right -- Communism and Fascism. He would never have guessed that soon a Third World War would be taking place between radical Islam and the West.
.
Last week, the City of Light went dark. In January of this year, some Islamist gunmen had attacked the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, and another had gunned down shoppers in a kosher supermarket. U.S. President Barack nObama, in an interview with Matt Yglesias, commenting on the supermarket attack, glossed over the motives behind it: "It is entirely legitimate for the American people to be deeply concerned when you've got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris." [Emphasis added]
.
Two days after last week's attacks, when reporters asked nObama if he would consider additional action against The Islamic State (IS), he declined to give a straight answer. The killings, he said, were "based on a twisted ideology." As so many times before, nObama would not define what ideology -- the belief system of radical Islam, based on violent passages from the Qur'an and Hadith, and modelled on the jihadist actions of generations of Muslims, beginning with Muhammad himself.
.
This ongoing failure to admit that the law of jihad is explicitly cited by spokesmen for Islamic State is the root cause of our inability to fight this war. The ancestors of today's Europeans knew how to fight against Islamic encroachment, but today, hundreds of thousands of Muslim migrants, some of them devoted to waging jihad, are being given free access to enter Europe. At least one of last Friday's killers in Paris appears to have travelled from Syria and entered Europe through Greece.
.
The targets in all the Paris attacks were not chosen "randomly." Charlie Hebdo stood for the Enlightenment value of free speech, for the right to challenge, even to make fun of figures who deem themselves above criticism: politicians, religious leaders, the rich and famous. It stood for the right to be secular: for refusing to fence off religion, or award believers greater respect than non-believers.
.
Through bold criticism in a secular manner, European states have been able to create a more pluralistic, tolerant, and humane culture. For devout Muslims (not just radicals), this is blasphemy of the worst sort: democracy, made by man and not by Allah, is evil, and tolerance for all beliefs is a path to hell.
.
Like the attempts to shut down all criticism of Islam -- whether in novels such as Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses, cartoons such as those of Muhammad drawn and published in Denmark, or debates between academics -- the Charlie Hebdo killings were intended to instil fear and silence all honest discussion of Islam and its values.
.
The kosher supermarket attack was clearly anti-Semitic. Like the multitude of such attacks on Jewish schools, museums, synagogues, and individuals, it celebrated the rise of a new anti-Semitism in Europe, an anti-Semitism (often expressed through anti-Zionism) that has been carried out by the political left, hand-in-hand with Muslim radical groups.
.
Jews on European streets are the one people most intensely hated by many Muslims (again, not just radicals). The freedom French Jews have for a long time enjoyed (despite high levels of indigenous anti-Semitism) is an affront to Islam, in which Jews especially must be converted, rendered submissive, or killed. Unfortunately, many Europeans have gone out of their way to be helpful. Just the day before the Paris attacks, the EU had singled out Israel, as usual, to label goods to help anti-Semitic, racist Europeans hurt Palestinians and Israelis with an unjust, sanctimonious boycott.
.
A leader of a British Islamic educational institute writes that, "One should abstain from evil audacities such as listening to music." Another graduate speaks of the "evils of music;" calls London's Royal College of Music "satanic," and claims that music is the way in which Jews spread "the Satanic web" to corrupt young Muslims. Is it, then, surprising that a handful of fanatics gunned down more than 80 innocent young people who had gone to enjoy a rock concert in the Bataclan Theatre?
.
As sports (apart from archery and horseback riding) are also activities much disliked by fundamentalist imams, three jihadis, in an apparent rebuke to such games and frivolity, went to a football stadium in Paris last Friday night and, although they could not get in, they blew themselves up outside it.
.
The Nazis hated jazz and modern art (even as they stole it), but not even they rejected all music and all art. Hitler luxuriated in the operas of Wagner and fancied himself no mean painter, even if the art world may not have agreed with him. But today's fascists care for nothing but their own increasingly expansionist beliefs.
.
As Hamas members have said more than once to Israelis, with whom the Europeans have more in common now than they would like to admit, the extremist Muslims will conquer in the end because "we love death more than you love life." Nothing could better sum up the bitter reality of the Paris attacks.
.
In a television interview on BBC News at Ten on Sunday night, a singer, Maude Hacheb, expressed her response to the killings: "If they want to break the country, they have to break young people. I think for them, music is no good, fun is no good, love is no good. So I guess it was really significant they go to the Bataclan."
