Judge in Manafort trial says he's been threatened over case

{ foxnews.com } ~ The judge in Paul Manafort’s fraud trial revealed Friday he has received threats over the case... and now travels with U.S. Marshals, as he turned back a media request to release juror information. U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III, in rejecting the motion, argued that he's confident the jurors would be threatened as well if their information were to be made public. “I can tell you there have been threats. ... I don't feel right if I release their names,” he said, adding that because of threats against him, “The Marshals go where I go.” The startling revelation came as the jury deliberated for its second day. Ellis, a famously prickly judge known for his colorful comments, has attracted considerable attention during the Manafort trial for his frequent sparring with the attorneys -- particularly those on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team... When will these threats ever end in this country.

Bruce Ohr Texts, Emails Reveal Steele’s Deep

Ties to scumbag/liar-nObama DOJ, FBI

{ saraacarter.com } ~ A trove of emails and handwritten notes from Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr exposes the continuous contact and communication between the DOJ attorney... and anti-Trump dossier author Christopher Steele, according to notes and documents obtained by SaraACarter.com. The emails and notes were written between 2016 and 2017. The notes and emails also reveal that Ohr was in communication with Glenn Simpson, the founder of the embattled research firm Fusion GPS, which was paid by the liar-Hillary Clinton campaign and dummycrats-DNC to hire Steele. In one of Ohr’s handwritten notes listed as “Law enforcement Sensitive” from May 10, 2017, he writes “Call with Chris,” referencing Steele. He notes that Steele is “very concerned about scumbag-Comey’s firing, afraid they will be exposed.” This call occurred months after FBI Director scumbag-James Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee and revealed for the first time that the FBI had an open counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign and alleged collusion with Russia... To this point in time there has not been a single shed of events of collusion with Russia.

McConnell urged to bypass Dems, confirm judges

{ wnd.com } ~ While conservatives and liberals prepare for the U.S. Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Judge Brett Kavanaugh... a coalition of conservative legal voices are pleading with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to brush aside stalling tactics from dummycrats-Democrats and confirm a major backlog of judicial nominees before Kavanaugh’s hearings next month. Led by Rob Henneke of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, the coalition sent a letter urging McConnell to change the rules if necessary to allow up or down votes in 152 district and appellate court nominees. “The quality of the pending nominees and confirmed judges is outstanding. The confirmation of constitutionalist judges to these lifetime appointments will impact our nation for decades to come and will be the lasting legacy of this period in history,” states the letter. Henneke says the Senate needs to buckle down and get the nominees across the finish line. “There is a backlog. It is growing every day, and it’s presenting a problem as far as the judiciary being able to get it’s job done,” said Henneke...

to Exit Mueller Plea Deal By Suing the Government

{ observer.com } ~ George Papadopoulos is looking to break the bargain he struck with federal prosecutors after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI... On Wednesday evening, the former Trump advisor’s wife—Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos—took to Twitter to crowd source an attorney willing to represent her husband pro-bono. “Attorney wanted for George Papadopoulo, Pro Bono!” wrote Simona, while misspelling their last name. The Italian-born partner later told The Daily Caller that “George should drop his plea agreement” and that she planned “to find a lawyer” to “sue the government.” Both parties became centerpieces in the Russia saga after George was arrested by the FBI last July for  misleading the bureau about communicating with Russian operatives. As a foreign policy aide on the Trump campaign, the energy consultant discussed opposition research on liar-Hillary Clinton with the Kremlin-connected Joseph Mifsud. While  testifying before House dummycrats-Democrats last month, Simona called her husband’s cooperation with Mueller a “brave choice.”...

Free-Market Social Security 

by Media Editors:  Yesterday was the 83rd anniversary of Social Security, and this year it went into the red. In the long run, it has a shortfall of $32 trillion.

             John Stossel says that the program is unsustainable. Young people shouldn’t expect it to cover their retirement.
               Romina Boccia explains the Heritage Foundation’s plan to allow young people to contribute to their Social Security payments via private investment accounts.
               Those private accounts would likely grow faster than people’s contributions to Social Security, and young people could invest in “whatever floats your boat,” Boccia tells Stossel.
               Private investment accounts have been tried in other parts of the world. When Chile started them in 1981, it was poorer than most Latin American countries. Now it’s the very richest.
               Yet mass demonstrations denounce it for being run privately, and for companies taking some of the profit. They miss the fact that Chileans have more money for retirement than most Latin Americans only because of their private accounts.
               Privatization is also unpopular in America, and so are Boccia’s other proposals. She and Heritage would raise the retirement age to 70 to account for rising lifespans.
               “When Social Security was actually founded, life expectancy was below 65,” Boccia tells Stossel. Now it’s 78. Stossel tells Boccia: “What you guys are pushing is the right thing to do, but it’s not popular.” She replies: “It is not popular, but I think people don’t fully understand how these programs work.”
               The good news is that this was the first time that when Stossel went to talk with people on the street, most people understood the problem.
               One man called it a “Ponzi scheme” and asked, “Why not take it and invest it in the stock market and let it grow that way?”
               A woman summed it up well: “The country’s in a deficit; there’s a point where you can’t pay out and go in the negative forever.”
