An Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) investigation reveals that between 2015 and 2016, the scumbag/liar-nObama administration rewarded the Vera Institute of Justice $310 million in contracts to help UACs — young migrants who came to the U.S.-Mexico border unaccompanied — avoid deportation. The President and Kelly have long had a strained relationship. But it appears the time for separation is close at hand. Yesterday we noted that President Trump is considering a big Cabinet shakeup, including firing John Kelly, to start the year fresh with new members on his team. John Kelly’s departure may be the first firing to start this process, should it happen today or even over the weekend. Should it come, it will be the culmination of a less-than-amicable relationship between Trump and the man he appointed to essentially run the White House. Last summer, just as Kelly resignation rumors were reaching a fever pitch, Trump put them to bed, declaring that Kelly would stay. {washingtontimes.com} ~ House Minority Leader sick-Nancy Pulosi on Thursday flatly rejected the idea of approving funding for President Trump’s border wall... in exchange for protections for illegal immigrant “Dreamers.” “They’re two different subjects,” the California Democrat said. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are searching for a solution to a budget impasse, with Mr. Trump’s demand for $5 billion in border wall money the major hurdle right now. The president has suggested he would force a partial government shutdown unless he gets the money he’s asking for. GOP leaders on Capitol Hill are interested in delivering, but Democrats, who maintain veto powers thanks to the Senate filibuster, say they can’t accept $5 billion. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. scumbag/clown-Schumer has said his party would pass a Homeland Security spending bill that includes $1.6 billion — which was the administration’s original request back when it submitted its first budget. He also said another option would be to continue Homeland Security funding over from 2018, which included $1.6 billion for border security. But he insisted that money would only go to fencing, and not to what Mr. Trump has envisioned as his wall..

to form Blaze Media: 'The timing is perfect'

{washingtontimes.com} ~ Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze and Mark Levin’s CRTV have merged to form Blaze Media — a move the conservative media companies said has the potential to reach 165 million people... “Tens of millions of Americans have had it with the biased, ideologically-driven mainstream media outlets that sanctimoniously advance their own agendas under the guise of ‘news’ and ‘journalism,’” Mr. Levin, who founded CRTV in 2014 and serves as its editor-in-chief, said in a statement. “Conservatives actually believe in a free press and the rest of the Constitution,” he said. “This is why I started LevinTV, which grew into the CRTV digital network. In order to further expand and offer the public an alternative to liberal media group-think, I’m very excited about the merger of TheBlaze and CRTV. The timing is perfect.” Mr. Beck, who founded TheBlaze in 2011 after parting ways with Fox News, said the merge will attract a more broad and “ideologically diverse” audience. “Conservatives, libertarians, constitutionalists, and more have a home at Blaze Media,” Mr. Beck said. “Our hosts will have differences, but we share a common belief in free expression, honest discourse and a society founded in the principles of the Bill of Rights. I’m beyond thrilled about this merger.” The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the story late Sunday, reported that Blaze Media will be run by co-presidents Tyler Cardon, former president of TheBlaze, and Gaston Mooney, former president of CRTV. Mr. Levin, who has no management authority at CRTV, said the company’s headquarters will not be based in Dallas as The Hollywood Reporter claimed in its initial report. He will also have no management authority at Blaze Media, the report said..
Trump Goes Postalby Political Editors: The task force created by President Donald Trump to find ways to turn around the U.S. Postal Service from 12 straight years of financial loss has issued its report, entitled “United States Postal Service: A Sustainable Path Forward.” After creating the task force back in April, Trump criticized Amazon, suggesting that the retail giant wasn’t paying enough for the services it received from the USPS. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. The report, produced by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, notes that since 2007 the USPS has lost a net $69 billion, and if changes are not made to the current model, it’s expected to lose tens of billions more in the coming decade. The report asserts that the USPS is on an unsustainable financial path: “[Its] business model — including its governance, product pricing, cost allocation, and labor practices — was sustainable in an era where mail revenues and volumes grew alongside population and economic growth. However, as the USPS’s financial conduction continues to deteriorate, standalone proposals, such as forgiving the prefunding of post-employment benefits or renegotiating labor contracts, will be insufficient.”
In other words, the USPS is essentially operating as if it were still in the pre-Internet days, and, as a result, it has become financially unsustainable. The largest source of revenue for the USPS is the delivery of First-Class mail, which has declined in volume by 42% since 2007. That decline is, of course, due to a major communications shift to online technology. Meanwhile, even though the USPS’s package volume has increased to 40% of the overall market, that hasn’t been enough to make up the lost revenue from the steadily shrinking mail volume.
Prices need to rise to meet services rendered, the report asserts: “Although the USPS does have pricing flexibility within its package delivery segment, packages have not been priced with profitability in mind. The USPS should have the authority to charge market-based prices for both mail and package items that are not deemed ‘essential services.’” This is where Trump’s accusations against Amazon not paying fair market value to the USPS for its shipping services comes into play.
The Package Coalition — a group of online retailers of which Amazon is the largest member — responded to the report with concern that “by raising prices and depriving Americans of affordable delivery services, the Postal Task Force’s package delivery recommendations would harm consumers, large and small businesses, and especially rural communities.”
Finally, one of the task force’s recommendations that has already raised the most vehement opposition is the call to essentially gut the USPS’s labor union. The report notes that the “USPS’ dual-labor model — combining private sector collective bargaining law with government employee compensation law — creates unsustainable labor costs. USPS employee rights should be more closely aligned with other federal employee rights by eliminating collective bargaining over compensation.” The report adds, “USPS employees should not be afforded protections and rights not enjoyed by other federal employees.”
One thing is clear, Americans will end up paying more for mail service either with higher mailing and shipping costs or through a government bailout paid by taxpayers. ~The Patriot Post
