Republicans: Black America's True Friend

4063478232?profile=originalBlack pundits say that to be black and Republican makes one a despicable race-traitor worthy of no-holds-barred punishment. As a black conservative Republican, I'm not frightened by this; it just angers and frustrates me.

My frustration comes from the knowledge that those claiming to have black America's empowerment and best interest at heart are the “elephant-in-the-room” problem. They lie to black America. Who are “they”? They are democrats committed to keeping blacks viewing themselves as victims. They are racist bitter black politicians with huge chips on their shoulders, seeking eternal “payback” for America's original sin of slavery. These black politicians are rewarded by the democrats for delivering black votes.

So there you have it, black America: these are your so-called advocates. And how do they help you? They lie to you. They tell you that 70% of black youths dropping out of high school is not your fault. They tell you that prisons filled with black males is not their fault. They tell you that 80% of black kids growing up without a father is not your fault. They tell you that black genocide – half of black pregnancies ending in abortion -- is not your fault.

They tell you English is too difficult to learn and that standards must be lowered. They tell you that blacks who speak correct English are traitors trying to be white. They tell you that despite the fact that showing proper ID is required to board an airplane and a za-gillion other things, requiring ID to vote will disenfranchise blacks. Thus, their message is that blacks are too stupid to acquire ID.

When I was growing up in the black ghetto of east Baltimore, several corners had grocery stores owned by Jews. Later the Jews were replaced by Asians. Huge families lived upstairs, and their store was down stairs.

The community resented Jewish and Asian store owners in black neighborhoods. I always thought, “Why?” These people did not receive a start-up check from the government. They took a risk. They rented in the black ghetto because it was cheaper. They worked long hours. Experience taught them to install a wall of bullet proof glass, separating them from their customers. Fourteen, fifteen family members lived above their businesses. These Jewish and Asian people were pursuing the American Dream the best way they knew how. What was stopping their black customers from doing the same thing? Answer: In many cases, blacks were relying on democrat welfare programs.

I hear you – democrat brainwashed fellow blacks yelling at me: Lloyd, you Uncle Tom SOB! America is racist, and blacks did not have a fair shot in those days!

Yes, racism was an issue in those days. But how do you explain the entrepreneurial success of black millionaires in Harlem in the 1920s?

Blacks have been congressmen and business owners in America since the 1800s. And yet, democrats continue to tell us that we are incapable of finding our way to acquire an ID.

Democrats and bitter, small-minded blacks insist on forcing blacks into their “black box”. They say authentic blacks must have had a “ghetto experience”.

When the Bill Cosby Show first hit TV, it was highly criticized because the sitcom black father was a doctor and his family lived in a nice home. I heard the same criticism of Diahann Carroll in her TV sitcom, Julia in which she played a successful black nurse – not reflective of the black experience. The Cosby Show and Julia were outside of the democrat-promoted “black box”.

In my youth, I met a black Master Swordsman. Excited, I carted him around to black community centers because I wanted black kids to see that blacks could be successful in fields beyond entertainment and sports.

Despite blacks succeeding today in almost every area of American life, democrats continue to portray black Americans as still getting-the-short-end-of-the-stick. Democrats promote an image of the authentic black experience as a majority in need of government entitlements, as people who can't find their way to acquire ID – sitting at home watching Maury on TV, anxiously awaiting for the results of the DNA test to discover the name of Keysha's baby's daddy. This is the democrat's black America.

This is not black advocacy or empowerment. It is demeaning, humiliating and crippling. Why can't my fellow blacks see this obvious truth?

I am a Republican because the Republican Party respects my intelligence – no special concessions or lowered standards.

4063478334?profile=originalIn the 1950's, my dad was one of the first blacks to break the racist color barrier into the Baltimore Fire Department. The white firefighters rejected my dad and made conditions horrific for him. Still, dad won “Firefighter Of The Year” two times. That's what I am talking about!

Given the opportunity, in their typical denigrating of black intellect, democrats would argue that requirements for Firefighter Of The Year be lowered to give my dad a “fair” shot at it. Lowered standards would have robbed dad of the dignity and pride of his achievement. Thank God such was not the case.

Dad, a black man, won Firefighter Of The Year because he was the best! Yes, I am a black conservative Republican and proud of it. All you blacks who think the democrats are your friends, wake up and smell the betrayal.

  • I totally agree, & besides if it was`nt for the Republicans, Blacks would not have been freed from slavery & segregation, Blacks would not have had a voice in Government or even served in Government. It was a Republican President named Ulysses S. Grant who defeated the Klan, and made inoperable for the next 40 odd years, A Republican Senator named Evrett Dirksen got bipartisan support for the 1964 & 1965 Civil rights acts. Blacks owe a lot to the GOP.

  • Lloyd, well spoken. You and I grew up in the same era. My son-in-law is a successful doctor and businessman. He is also a black conservative. He made it on his own. He too is furious with the democrats who promote the victim mentality. Obama and the dems are destroyers. We of the Tea party have a common cause..... save the nation. If we do not save the nation all else is lost.

  • Why In The World Are They Spraying?

  • They will stay slaves for as long as they stay with D's.

  • It is obvious that most Black People do NOT know their real history. It boggles my mind that they are a part of the group (Democrats) that fought to keep them slaves. I don't really know why they don't know the truth???? Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton  have become rich men by taking advantage of their fellow Blacks. I find that disgusting and down right EVIL. I mean do Sharpton & Jackson Not know the history of slavery??

  •  what a breath of fresh air. i really thought that all this time. that we had figured things out. i want things to better for people of color. not the opposite. your dad sounds like a hell of a man. be proud lloyd. god bless

  • Thanks to James Walls. Your so good with words. I all so was raised on a farm and loved it.

  • Democrats vilified blacks from day one. The Republican Party's first platform had 6 of its 9 points targeted to the freedom of blacks.

  • Mr. Walls, Try and watch David Barton's "American History In Black And White". You can watch a good part of it on Youtube. Start with this...

  • lloyd-----Thanks my man for being forward in the discussion---I tip my hat to you for calling it like it is. I am a white guy and lived in those little shotgun houses only big enough for a man and wife but we managed to crowd the entire family into one of them. I remember my dad being a fisherman and share cropper after the war and us living in a barn---yes a barn where you store corn, peanuts, spuds and other animal foods.

Mother did at one time ask Dad if it would help to apply for some help and Dad said he would not accept hand outs or charity---He hunted for some of our food and we farmed and raised hogs, chickens and had cured meat to eat. We had it rough but I remember those proud days of living on a farm and climbing the trees to get grapes or walking through the bee hives Dad had placed under the plum trees, so we could harvest honey to eat and sell. I remember swimming in the river or just walking in the woods with my brother.

We had many black people as well as white people that came down and picked the cotton for the farmers.----Farm Products was money to us in the late 1940's and early 1950"s.-----Oyes, I remember how it was to be poor and a family plus happy. Dad had no car or truck--we used a boat to transport products to the market and hauled thing on a horse and sled.---There was no tires or gas, so automobiles were no use to us, plus who had the money to buy one, Dad did not. Him and the neighbors did hide a jug of corn liquor in the barn for social events.

I have looked back many times at how I was raised and how far we have advanced as a family and people. I was much happier when we were poor and lived in the country on a farm, went barefooted and wore home made clothes from flour sacks, carried our lunch in a syrup bucket that usually was a biscuit and dry salt pork or peanut butter all the time upper class kids would laugh at us and others would trade for the biscuit and dry salt pork for a sandwich made from store bought bread and meat.

I fought in Vietnam with my black brothers---I saw them get shot and some died----Amazing they bled red blood also, just like the white man and died like one also--So my question to the world--where is your belief in My GOD, my country and the pride within us to be free American People.

Slavery---Endured Servants were used by the white man----Used their own kids to work for others in order to get land. Imagine slaving out your own kids in order to get land. We are slaves to GOD, according to the Bible.--We are slaves to progress and have forget how to work, be a family and help one another. We all need to go back to the country and learn what it means to be neighborly and help one another. At one time the churches helped those that needed help, because those people that had a little extra gave it to the churches so they could help others---Where has that gone.

Africa had the biggest slave industry in the world, where rival tribes killed one another, enslaved other tribe members, captured them and delivered them to the sea ports for export to other countries. Black people were in America 3000 yrs. before Columbus so to say white people brought them here is a false statement.---Read about the Zingh Empire from Sr Lanka, Africa---the oldest culture in the world that migrated to America many years before the Pilgrims. Look at how many Indians are in fact black people, not people from Asia as told but from Africa.

We can select a subject and beat it to death and disagree about it for centuries---what does it gain us. Bad feelings and heartaches and wanting to kill one another---We call ourselves a Loving people of GOD---One Nation Under GOD---Which GOD----My GOD created man---not a white, black, yellow or any race of man, but he created man in his image--To be a loving and thoughtful person.---Woman came from the rib of man, not from some taboo legend spread around to create more hatred. Get real, get right, get with GOD.
