Old Mindsets Die Hard. They Take Prisoners

"The only source of knowledge is experience."
- Albert Einstein

"We, The People of the United,Staes..."

The Revolutionary War was the American colonists response to their PERSONAL experience w/ oppression and tyranny under British rule.  It motivated them. Giving them the resolve to fight for their very Natural human Rights of Freedom and Liberty.  They had sacrificed their PERSONAL wealth or savings, and even their very lives, in their call for Liberty. To separate and disassociate themselves from Britain's unforgiving iron fist and become the first United States CITIZENS

Anxious citizens had gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, w hich had been held secretly behind closed doors, had ended.   The answer was immediately provided.   A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?"   With no hesitation whatsoever, Dr Ben Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."    http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/7631-a-republic-if-you-can-keep-it ;

But, just how long did the new Americans go along w/  this new...kingless...Constitutionally free Republic?  How long did the "American Experiment" KEEP before the old ingrained mindset of govt intervention resurfaced?  The answer is: shortly after President George Washington's second term had ended.

[H]e (Washington) left public service more than once to settle back into a quiet, unassuming life on his plantation. And when a disgruntled military attempted at one point to install a monarchy with him as king, he fiercely resisted.    http://www.vision.org/visionmedia/biography-george-washington/587.aspx ;

And the United States had started its decent away from the Citizens' Natural rights, and towards totalitarianism ever since.

2016

Would either of the two presidential front runners ever pass up the chance at being the first dictator of the United States?  I wonder just how Americans would actually accept it?  I truly believe that it simply depends on WHICH candidate would get the title.   And it seems the nation is almost split down the middle there.  Scary thought, huh!

It seems that America is going to have to PERSONALLY experience the same levels of oppression and tyranny that the original Colonists had. Only then will we have what Einstein referred to as "knowledge", and understanding. MAYBE then will the People stand and fight once again.
