Lindsey Graham warns FISA court to 'take
corrective action' after being
'misled' by Steele dossier

{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham warned the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that it needs to “take corrective action” after being “misled”... by the Justice Department and FBI through their use of British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s unverified dossier. During a radio interview with Sean Hannity on Friday, after it was announced that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz had submitted to Attorney General William Barr a draft of his report on abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the South Carolina Republican said his own "deep dive" investigation would include holding the FISA court accountable for its role in allowing the electronic surveillance of onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page in 2016 and 2017. Graham said he would send the results of his committee’s investigation to the FISA court and deliver a message to the judges: “You know it's your court to run, but I've got to be in charge of making sure that Americans' rights are protected.” “If they don’t take any corrective action, it will prove to me that the court is not reliable,” Graham said. “Because here's what we can prove without any doubt. The court was misled to the accuracy of the Christopher Steele dossier, that the system had plenty of warnings that it was not reliable, it was biased, and they didn't do a damn thing to look into it, and they never informed the court of the bias in any meaningful way.” The 412 pages of redacted FISA documents released in early 2018 show the DOJ and the FBI made extensive use of Steele’s unverified dossier, which he put together in 2016 at the behest of the opposition research firm Fusion GPS, which was hired by scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee by Marc Elias of the Perkins Coie law firm — who was briefed about Steele's findings throughout the race and, in turn, briefed the scumbag/liar-Clinton campaign too. Republicans allege Steele’s funding from a Democratic presidential campaign and his desire for President Trump to lose the election were concealed by the DOJ and FBI from the FISA court...

Hezbollah's new missile 'capable of
destroying all military battleships'

{ jpost.com } ~ A twitter account affiliated with Hezbollah posted a photo of the terror organization's new missile on Sunday afternoon... which he says is capable of destroying all military battleships. "Our new missile is capable of destroying all military battleships, killing all who are on board," wrote the Hezbollah activist, who often posts photos of South Lebanon Army (SLA) members and their families who have moved to Israel, announcing that they are being called to trial. In August, Hezbollah released footage and pictures of the anti-ship missile that struck the INS Hanit during the 2006 Second Lebanon War, an incident that killed four Israeli soldiers in one of the most significant attacks against the IDF in the war. In a documentary called #Army_To_Be_Drowned aired on Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV channel marking the war the group aired reconnaissance footage of the ship from the Lebanese coastline, preparations for the launch of the missile, the operations room which directed the strike as well as nighttime footage which showed the impact of the Chinese-made C-802 anti-ship cruise missile. According to al-Manar, Hezbollah’s navy commander “Hajj Jalal” said the rocket was launched from the Beirut suburb of Ouzai after “the Zionist enemy esaclated its attacks on various Lebanese areas.” Adding that the group’s leadership delayed the operation for several hours, Jalal said that the group “could have struck Israel‘s warship SAAR-5 in the 2006 war before it entered Lebanon’s international waters,” he said.

John Bolton resumes PAC position
after ouster from White House

{ patriotnewsalerts.com } ~ Everyone knew the writing was on the wall and it was only a matter of time before Bolton either left or was terminated from his position. For months, he and Trump were at odds on issues and for weeks, Trump had been cutting Bolton out of key meetings... It was very reminiscent of what happened to Jeff Sessions right before he was let go. It was not controversial that Bolton was let go, but exactly how it happened remains up for discussion. Trump stated that he fired Bolton, but Bolton has maintained that he offered up his resignation first. Even though the two were at odds during the last days of Bolton’s tenure, initially, it appeared as though there was no animosity between the two. That has surely changed now. That, however, is not the direction Bolton is taking. It appears as though his primary concern right now is getting the House back and helping Republicans hold onto the Senate. Prior to taking on his role in the Trump administration, Bolton was the head of both the John Bolton PAC and the John Bolton Super PAC, a role he immediately resumed after his dismissal. Bolton paused his role with these organizations during his time with the administration, but he immediately went back to work writing out big checks for five Republican incumbent candidates. Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Thom Tillis (R-NC), along with Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Lee Zeldin (R-NY) all received $10,000 from Bolton’s PACs. While he did not take a direct shot at Trump in the statement that accompanied the donations, Bolton made it very clear he was donating to candidates who shared his views regarding “the threats we face” today.

Trump says he talked Mutual Defense Pact
with Netanyahu, will pick up after vote
by timesofisrael.com ~ US President Donald Trump on Saturday said he had spoken with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the phone of a potential Mutual Defense Pact, or MDP, between the two countries... and that he hoped to continue such talks after Tuesday’s election. “I had a call today with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the possibility of moving forward with a Mutual Defense Treaty, between the United States and Israel, that would further anchor the tremendous alliance between our two countries,” he tweeted. “I look forward to continuing those discussions after the Israeli Elections when we meet at the United Nations later this month,” he added, in a comment that was interpreted in Israel as indicting his hope that Netanyahu will win the elections on Tuesday. In a statement Netanyahu thanked Trump, who he called his “dear friend,” and said he too looked forward to continuing the conversation to advance “a historic defense treaty.” “The Jewish State has never had a greater friend in the White House,” the premier tweeted. Haaretz reported earlier this month that Netanyahu and Trump were discussing such a gesture ahead of the election in Israel, in a bid to boost the Israeli premier’s electoral prospects...

Another Jewish New Year, Another
Week of Shock-and-Awe Leftism

{ americanthinker.com } ~ The leaves change. For this American Jew, it signals that the Jewish New Year is around the corner. It reminds me that the biblical values of Judaism, along with Christianity, gave rise to this most decent and greatest of societies in human history... American Jews in particular, a people beleaguered in every other place and time, should all be deeply grateful for this wonderful America and its sublime values. But daily, those values are now being battered and pilloried by one of the most potent cultural wrecking machines devised by man: the ideology of leftism. Here are three examples in just a week. They come from the radically Leftist mainstream media like the New York Times, ABC's Good Morning America, and the assault weapons of hard radical leftism presented to us by the collection of Democrats running for president. This week alone, they attack three foundational pillars of America: the innocence of our children, our life-affirming culture, and our Ten Commandments. They are on a particular wrecking roll this week. Relentless, determined, loud, often vicious, and definitely powerful they remain. America stands strong but remains battled and battered in a cultural civil war, no less important than the violent one we fought in the past. One of the greatest gifts we received from our biblical tradition is its respect for the preciousness of our children — their health, growth, and education, and especially their innocence. Moses himself at the end of his life chose one last word of advice to his people. He implored them that the most important thing they must do as they enter the Promised Land is to take care of their kids — their bodies, souls, and minds. Just look at how such advice, such an American value, was debased this past week. The New York Times, the Bible of leftism, flat-out attacked our kids. They did so by publishing a big splashy celebratory report on DragCon, conventions where mothers bring their prepubescent American sons, flamboyantly dressed like women, to strut on stage in front of large numbers of adults. What kind of USA mother does that to her kid? What kind of American parent intentionally warps reality for the child with regard to his God-given nature and then thrusts him up in public for the gawking of adults? ABC, a pillar of our unfree press, then had one of DragCon's stars, Desmond, on its morning show to cheer him on. It is not at all different from the newest chaos spreading around America, Drag Queen Story Time, where adult men come to our schools, religious community centers, and libraries dressed as women to read stories to our kids. What kind of parents do this? Parents who have drunk the Kool-Aid of leftism do this...

Trump's Tariffs Taking Toll on Chinese EconomyPolitical Editors: New reports appear to indicate that the Chinese economic picture is not as rosy as Beijing would like the world and the U.S. to believe. As The Wall Street Journal reports:
Beneath China’s stable headline economic numbers, there is a growing belief among economists, companies, and investors around the world that the real picture is worse than the official data. That has analysts and researchers crunching an array of alternative data — from energy consumption to photos taken from space — for a more accurate reading.
Their conclusion: China’s economy isn’t tanking, but it is almost certainly weaker than advertised. Some economists who have dissected China’s GDP numbers say more accurate figures could be up to 3 percentage points lower, based on their analysis of corporate profits, tax revenue, rail freight, property sales and other measures of activity that they believe are harder for the government to fudge.
In related news, Fox Business notes, “The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai said Wednesday U.S. companies are steering business away from China at an increasing rate amid the escalating trade war between Washington and Beijing. More than a quarter (26.5 percent) of the 333 respondents to AmCham’s annual survey said they have redirected investment away from China over the past year, up 6.9 percentage points from 2018.”
CNBC reports that China’s Ministry of Finance recently announced that it will “exempt 16 types of U.S. products from additional tariffs.” Meanwhile, China’s central bank has inserted another $126 billion into the economy, as the nation is feeling the tariffs squeeze. The New York Times observes that “the price of pork has been rising for months, and it is now nearly 50 percent higher than it was a year ago. … Consumers are frustrated, and officials are quietly expressing alarm as they fight the outbreak of a disease that is devastating the country’s pig population and causing the shortage.”
After China’s announcement, President Donald Trump announced, “At the request of the Vice Premier of China, Liu He, and due to the fact that the People’s Republic of China will be celebrating their 70th Anniversary on October 1st, we have agreed, as a gesture of good will, to move the increased Tariffs on 250 Billion Dollars worth of goods (25% to 30%), from October 1st to October 15th.” This is “Art of the Deal” maneuvering to be sure, but did Trump really have to cite the communist takeover celebration as a reason for delay?
Finally, the months-long Hong Kong freedom protests have also had a negative impact upon the Chinese economy, as the city is an important hub of international trade for the country. Sen. Lindsay Graham argued, “We’ve just got to accept the pain that comes with standing up to China.” It’s imperative to know that isn’t for naught — that Trump’s tariffs are indeed having a significant impact. ~The Patriot Post
