Trump Hires Lawyer Who Has Pushed Theory
That Justice Dept. Framed the President
by Maggie Haberman and Michael S. Schmidt } ~ President Trump hired the longtime Washington lawyer Joseph E. diGenova on Monday, adding an aggressive voice to his legal team...
who has pushed the theory on television that the F.B.I. and Justice Department framed Mr. Trump. Mr. diGenova, a former United States attorney, is not expected to take a lead role. But he will serve as an outspoken player for the president as Mr. Trump has increased his attacks on the special counsel, dirty cop-Robert S. Mueller III. Mr. Trump broke over the weekend from the longstanding advice of some of his lawyers that he refrain from directly criticizing Mr. dirty cop-Mueller, a sign of his growing unease with the investigation.  “Former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia Joe DiGenova will be joining our legal team later this week,” said Jay Sekulow, one of the president’s personal lawyers. “I have worked with Joe for many years and have full confidence that he will be a great asset in our representation of the President.” Mr. diGenova has endorsed the notion that a secretive group of F.B.I. agents concocted the Russia investigation as a way to keep Mr. Trump from becoming president. “There was a brazen plot to illegally exonerate scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton and, if she didn’t win the election, to then frame Donald Trump with a falsely created crime,” he said on Fox News in January. He added, “Make no mistake about it: A group of F.B.I. and D.O.J. people were trying to frame Donald Trump of a falsely created crime.”...

In an investigation that began last year, Inspector General Michael Horowitz is examining the Justice Department's and FBI's compliance with legal requirements as well as policies and procedures in applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court related to Page as part of a larger counterintelligence probe into Trump's campaign. The inspector general inquiry is expected to be completed in either late May or June, and diGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said Democrats on Capitol Hill are working overtime to investigate and discredit President Trump. "They are doing that as a diversionary tactic away from the inevitable conclusions of the DOJ inspector general, Michael Horowitz, who, by the way, we have learned has concluded that the final three FISA extensions were illegally obtained," diGenova said on Fox Business. "The only question now is whether or not the first FISA was illegally obtained." He pointed to memos, obtained by conservative group Citizens United through open-records litigation, that suggest the FBI might have misled the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in the first warrant application about an unverified dossier. Horowitz "apparently, as a result of those disclosures ... which he was unaware of — the bureau hid those memos from Horowitz — as a result of that they're doing additional work on the first FISA. It may be that all four FISAs will have been obtained illegally," diGenova said...
Democratic rebuttal to GOP
House Intelligence memo released

Democrats say their memo, spearheaded by ranking member scumbag-Adam Schiff, D-Calif., was written as a rebuttal to provide greater context to a Republican memo that was released earlier this month, which outlines abuses by the FBI and the Justice Department against the Trump campaign, particularly in the write-up and approval of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant applications to spy on ex-Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page. The Democratic memo says in its first page that "FBI and DOJ officials did not 'abuse' the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) process, omit material information, or subvert this vital tool to spy on the Trump campaign. "It adds, "In fact, DOJ and the FBI would have been remiss in their duty to protect the country had they not sought a FISA warrant and repeated renewals to conduct temporary surveillance of Carter Page, someone the FBI assessed to be an agent of the Russian government. A key point in the GOP memo, put together by Nunes and staff, claims Justice Department and FBI officials used "Trump dossier" author Christopher Steele was played an important role in the initial and all three renewal FISA applications to spy on Page. The dossier from Steele, an ex-British spy, is filled with salacious and unverified claims about President Trump's ties to Russia. A crucial source of funding for the dossier, scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee, as well as Steele's anti-Trump bias were also left out by the DOJ and FBI, the GOP memo alleged, addressing a major area of concern of Republicans and Trump supporters. The Democratic memo makes the case the that agencies covered themselves appropriately... Nunes and scumbag-Schiff work on the same community but scumbag-Schiff always has a different response covering up the truth.
Rep. Jim Jordan Takes Over Committee Floor, Refuses To Yield as He Demolishes Democrats
by Ben Marquis } ~ After more than two years of multiple investigations and speculation about alleged collusion between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russia in the 2016 election... that narrative was put to rest by special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s final report. Except, Democrats seem unwilling to concede defeat, and rather than admit how wrong they were on collusion have shifted their sights to alleged obstruction of justice by President Trump and Attorney General William Barr, who they accuse of attempting to cover-up incriminating information redacted from the dirty cop-Mueller report. The accusations against Barr resulted in the Democratic-led House Judiciary Committee voting to hold him in contempt of Congress over his refusal to release a completely unredacted version of the report, despite Barr being prohibited by law from releasing redacted grand jury information. During the lead-up to the vote on contempt, Republican committee member Jim Jordan took over for five minutes — even refusing a request to yield at one point — and carpet-bombed the committee with the blunt truth of both the false narrative they had bought into as well as the transparently partisan reasons they were attacking Barr. “Bill Barr is following the law, and what’s his reward? Democrats are going to hold him in contempt,” Jordan said. “I don’t think today is actually about getting information, I don’t think it’s about getting the unredacted dirty cop-Mueller report, I don’t think last week’s hearing was actually about having staff question the attorney general.” “I think it’s — as my colleague said earlier — I think it’s all about trying to destroy Bill Barr because Democrats are nervous that he’s going to get to the bottom of everything. “He’s going to find out how and why this investigation started in the first place,” Jordan asserted...
Jeff Sessions backs AG Barr on 'spying' claim
by Stephen Dinan
{} ~ Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Wednesday that his successor was within bounds to call the FBI’s surveillance of Trump campaign figures “spying.”... “I think spying is a perfectly good word,” Mr. Sessions said at a Las Vegas event aired on MSNBC. New Attorney General William P. Barr ignited a firestorm with his use of the word to describe the scumbag/liar-nObama administration’s attempts to pry into the activities of several of Mr. Trump’s campaign advisors, including the use of a surveillance warrant and informants, over fears the campaign was coordinating with Russia. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, appearing with Mr. Sessions, also backed Mr. Barr, saying there was spying — the question is whether it was legally predicated or not.“I think what needs to be determined here is not the argument over the word, the modifier of the word,” Mr. Christie said. Both men also backed Mr. Barr’s resistance to House Democrats’ sweeping subpoena for the special counsel’s Russia report, saying he was right under the law to resist demands for secret grand jury information.
Dems Just Invited Israel-Hating, Gay-Bashing,
Sexist Imam to Give Invocation Before Congress

Steven Emerson } ~ Islam's holy month of Ramadan began Sunday, so it's not surprising that the U.S. House turned to a Muslim cleric to provide Thursday's invocation.

The problem is with the cleric chosen. Omar Suleiman is an imam who has a history of spewing hatred toward Israel and who holds views about gays and women that would spark outrage on the left if they came from a preacher of any other faith.

Suleiman is the founder and president of the Irving, Texas-based Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas, invited him to give Thursday's invocation, a Yaqeen Institute statement said.

Suleiman's honor of giving the invocation was touted by Zahra Billoo, a California chapter director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and among the most rabid Israel haters among CAIR's stable of Israel haters.

"We pray for peace, not war," he said. "Love not hate. Benevolence, not greed. Unity, not division. And we commit ourselves to not betraying our prayers with actions that contradict them. Let us be for truth, no matter who, or for is against it."

Love, not hate. Unity, not division. Here are some examples of Suleiman doing anything but advancing those ideals.

In an August 2014 Facebook post, Suleiman seemed to side with Hamas in denying that the terrorist group uses human shields in an attempt to stop the Israeli military from retaliating against rocket fire sent from Gaza into Israeli civilian communities.

There is evidence dating back years to prove the practice takes place. And a Hamas official openly admitted the practice more than a month before Suleiman's post. "The fact that people are willing to sacrifice themselves against Israeli warplanes in order to protect their homes, I believe this strategy is proving itself," said Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri.

Suleiman spoke at a 2017 rally outside the White House protesting the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and move the U.S. embassy there. The rally was organized by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), a group which seeks "to challenge the legitimacy of the State of Israel" and is tied to a defunct Hamas-support network in the United States.

In his remarks Suleiman rejected any Jewish claim to Jerusalem:

"Your recognition means nothing to us," he said. "Your maps mean nothing to us, your embassy is as illegitimate as the occupation it seeks to legitimize. Our land is our land, our dignity is our dignity. Our determination is our determination. Our boycott is our boycott. Our Aqsa [the holy mosque in Jerusalem] is our Aqsa. Our Palestine is our Palestine."

Palestinians have rejected at least three peace offers which would have created a state of their own. But in a 2014 post, Suleiman rejected any Palestinian responsibility for the conflict, invoking anti-Israel academic Noam Chomsky. It is not clear whether his reference to occupation dates back to the 1967 war, or Israel's creation in 1948.

Suleiman also pushed the anti-Semitic trope that Israel controls American foreign policy, sneering that it is the "51st state."

On social issues, Suleiman's religious views stand in sharp contrast to the progressive ideas championed by most members of the House Democratic Caucus. The Middle East Forum put together several examples in a 2017 video. Two indicate a sexist attitude.

Warning girls about the dangers of promiscuity, Suleiman compared Allah to an over-protective father.

"And Allah doesn't just own 20 guns. Allah owns hellfire," he said. "So you'd better be careful. You're overstepping your bounds. Sisters ... you know what happens with a really jealous Dad? He kills you and he kills the guy. So you are offending Allah ... whenever you make yourself promiscuous or whenever you open yourself up to a relationship."

In addition, boys and girls cannot be friends because of ever-present sexual temptation.

"See all the guys know it. You guys know this. Right? You can make this up and you can try to fool yourself or fool someone else. But girls, trust me. We're men. We're not going to lie to you. Guys and girls cannot be friends, unless you guys have been neutered ... you cannot be friends."

Suleiman compared gays and lesbians to people who engage in incest and bestiality. They deserve to be treated well even though they engage in "an act of sexual deviance," he said.

"... We believe it's wrong. It's obviously harmful to society. Obviously it's not natural, because of human reproduction and all the diseases and things of that sort that come as a result. But, if someone is a homosexual, they're not a, it's not, you know what's worse, homosexuality or saying Allah has a son? You see we still treat people who say Allah has a son with goodness, and we should. We should be kind and courteous and try to help them with that wrong idea or that wrong practice. Now what if someone says, 'But what if someone is born that way, what if someone is a homosexual and they can't help that?' Then we would say that not every impulse is to be acted upon. OK? We don't allow bestiality. We don't allow incest."

Imagine the blowback if a Republican House member invited a Christian preacher who uttered the same ideas. You don't have to. Liberal groups were outraged when President wcumbag/liar-nObama asked Pastor Rick Warren to deliver an invocation at his 2009 inaugural.

When California Pastor Greg Laurie was named a co-chair of the 2013 National Day of Prayer, the Human Rights Campaign protested, saying his "message is out of step with what the majority of people of faith across this country believe."

The examples above show the same thing can be said about Suleiman.
