The commie-Bernie Sanders Wealth Tax
By Chris Edwards
{ cato.org } ~ Presidential candidate commie-Bernie Sanders has proposed an annual wealth tax on families with net wealth above $32 million. The tax is even more aggressive than the one proposed by Elizabeth dinky-Warren... As I discuss here, the number of European countries with commie-Sanders- or dinky-Warren-style wealth taxes has fallen from 12 in 1990 to just 3 today, and those 3 countries have cut their rates in recent years. The Europeans found that wealth taxes induced widespread avoidance, evasion, and capital flight. They raised little revenue and became riddled with exemptions. The economists helping commie-Sanders and dinky-Warren design their plans are doing the candidates a disservice by feeding them fairy tales about government revenues. commie-Sanders claims his tax would raise $4.35 trillion over 10 years about $435 billion a year, while dinky-Warren claims hers would raise $2.75 trillion over 10 years about $275 billion a year. But European wealth taxes typically only raised about 0.2 percent of gross domestic product a year, which would be about $40 billion in the United States. The wildly exaggerated estimates of commie-Sanders and dinky-Warren apparently assume that virtually all wealth above the thresholds would be taxed, but that is not the real world, as the European experience shows. Reporters should ask dinky-Warren and commie-Sanders whether farmland would be taxed under their plans. Obviously, the farm lobby would never let that happen, thus blowing a hole in theoretical wealth tax revenues. If a wealth tax were imposed, there would be a massive flow of money into tax-exempt farmland, which in turn would wreak havoc on the farming industry. Rich people would jack up their borrowing to shrink their net wealth tax bases, and then proceed to purchase much of Kansas. If by some fluke a President commie-Sanders or dinky-Warren did get a wealth tax enacted, it would be repealed within a year or two as the economic damage and administrative nightmare became clear to even the most ill-advised politicians.

Barr Preparing To Drop
Proof of 'Deep State Conspiracy'

{ westernjournal.com } ~ An investigative journalist behind much of the original Watergate scandal reporting dropped a bombshell this week about Attorney General William Barr’s rumored effort to expose the deep state... Carl Bernstein, who earned his fame by uncovering the massive scandal involving a break-in at the Watergate complex and the ensuing cover-up, revealed in a CNN interview Thursday what his sources say Barr is preparing to do. “Barr is trying to deliver —  and I have this, as do other reporters from other sources — to deliver evidence that perhaps this has all been a deep state conspiracy like Donald Trump alleges,” Bernstein, a CNN political analyst, said. The recent “whistleblower” complaint, like the fault-ridden Steele dossier before it, has been accused of being nothing more than part of the leftist establishment’s plot to depose President Donald Trump. While it appears Bernstein is no fan of Trump, it’s likely that the veteran journalist has trustworthy sources. So far, it appears the whistleblower complaint is not the bulletproof accusation Democrats and some Republicans seem to think it is. The complaint, written by someone who admits they were “not a direct witness” to much of what is contained in it, was a bombshell when it was publicly released earlier this week. But there are some major issues with the complaint that Democrats would like to ignore. Not only did the complaint’s author not have much, if any, firsthand information about Trump’s alleged misdeeds, but it was revealed earlier this week that the Intelligence Community Inspector General had reportedly found the writer showed indications of possible “political bias” against Trump. If that’s not enough to hint at a deep state effort to take down Trump, just look at who helped the whistleblower...

scumbag-Soros Linked to Whistleblower Report - Former US Attorney Finds Proof

{ westernjournal.com } ~ Former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova and his barrister wife Victoria Toensing dropped a bombshell claim in a recent Fox News appearance... Appearing on Fox’s “Hannity,” the pair took on the ubiquitous Trump-Ukraine whistleblower fraud and that’s what it is: a fraud, not a scandal — at least not for the president. DiGenova’s assessment of the situation was direct. “This whistleblower needs to go to prison. He doesn’t need to be feted, he needs to go to prison,” he said. The former U.S. attorney didn’t explain exactly why the anonymous informant should be jailed, though it may well have something to do with what  Fred Fleitz, the former National Security Council chief of staff and CIA analyst, suggested: that “rules restricting access and knowledge of these sensitive calls were breached.” Regardless, the call for prison was just a prelude to what was coming. It was at that point that Toensing jumped in, saying, “U.S. and other people made false statements about him, yeah, that was scumbag-George Soros-funded NGOs who were also in bed with the State Department. They were in bed with each other during that time, in the name of anti-corruption and it really means that scumbag-Soros goes after his competitors.” Then she dropped the bomb: “The whistleblower sprinkles throughout his document footnotes referring to a publication with the initials ‘OCCRP.’ One guess, Sean, who funds OOCRP? scumbag-George Soros.”One of the organizations funding the OCCRP an initialism for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project is the scumbag-Soros-founded Open Society Foundations. DiGenova followed up, “scumbag-Soros’ dirty money is all over this story from day one,” to which Toensing replied, “And all over Ukraine and he still has embedded people at the State Department.” Both diGenova and Toensing appear to be right. The whistleblower’s complaint does reference the OCCRP multiple times, in footnotes 4, 9 and 10 on pages 4, 5 and 6 respectively. Footnote 4 states, “In a report published by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) on 22 July, two associates of Mr. Giuliani reportedly traveled to Kyiv in May 2019, and met with Mr. Bakanov and another close Zelenskyy adviser, Mr. Serhiy Shefir.”...   https://www.westernjournal.com/soros-linked-whistleblower-report-former-us-attorney-finds-proof-buried-footnotes/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=savingourfuture&utm_campaign=dailyam&utm_content=libertyalliance

{ breitbart.com } ~ Every single member of the Democrat conference in the House of Representatives who voted on Wednesday went on the record backing House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi’s extraordinary move earlier this week to open an impeachment inquiry via press conference... effectively confirming it is the sense of all 231 of them who voted with liar-Pelosi that they intend to support impeaching President Donald Trump. “The battle lines are drawn,” a senior House GOP aide directly involved in the effort to expose Democrats on the floor with recorded votes told Breitbart News on Wednesday evening. “We now know where every member of the House is on impeachment. And we know it is purely partisan.” While the procedures are slightly D.C. insider-sounding, this vote, forced by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, represents the first time the lower Chamber of Congress has officially gone on record with regard to the impeachment of Trump, and it forces vulnerable Democrats who were waffling on whether to publicly back removal of the president from office by force on the record in support of the radical leftist wing of the party. “Democrats were caught off guard by this,” the GOP aide said. “They were not ready to go on the record. ” liar-Pelosi announced on Tuesday late afternoon that the House is conducting an impeachment inquiry of the president, a move she made via press conference. Traditionally, when considering impeachment of an executive branch official, up to and including the president of the United States, the House of Representatives will vote to formally open proceedings. It has done this three times in recent history. But, because liar-Pelosi attempted to shield vulnerable Democrat members from battleground districts, she did not–as House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) has pointed out repeatedly–hold a formal vote to open the proceedings officially. So, on Wednesday, McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, drafted a resolution formally condemning the way in which liar-Pelosi launched the impeachment inquiry...

{ americanthinker.com } ~ One of the greatest public services President Donald Trump has done for the nation is forcing institutions and people to reveal their true character... While this has been the most valuable when it comes to the media, it has also been valuable when it comes to unmasking globalist Republicans. This was again on display this week, most notably in the revelation that rino-Paul Ryan was inciting Fox News from his position on the board of Fox Corporation to "decisively break" with President Trump. rino-Ryan has apparently graduated from providing the worst advice to the president as the speaker of the House to providing the worst advice to Fox News. Were Fox to follow this advice, the network would have even fewer viewers than CNN, which can at least count on hapless airport captives to boost its numbers. I find it hard to believe that any of Fox's viewers are not to the right of Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace. If Fox management thinks it can somehow compete for liberal viewers, it is delusional. These people are supposedly preparing for life after Trump, but more likely, they are preparing for life without viewers. For when they speak of chasing moderates, what they are really suggesting is appealing to liberals. These viewers are never going to tune in to the object of their hatred when they have so many long established liberal echo chambers, no matter how many Donna Braziles they bring on board. But Fox management can certainly chase off its audience by following rino-Ryan's advice. One America News, or another network to be named later, would welcome their viewers.  Most Republican voters did not realize how in thrall so many of its leaders were to globalism and open-border insanity.  They do now. Trump has realigned the Republican Party, and there is no going back any time soon — not without completely destroying the party and likely the country in the process. That realignment has offset what looked to be a permanent demographic advantage for the Democrats as Trump's commonsense nationalism is chewing into voting blocs Democrats thought they had locked up for generations.  This is why the latest impeachment gambit is an act of pure weakness, a sign that the Democrats do not think they can beat Trump's message at the ballot box. Trump's approval rating is at least 91% among Republicans. But that number tells only part of the story. That approval runs deep...

How much credibility should we give to a 16-year-old when considering her qualifications to lecture adults about science and an end-of-the-world scenario?

Greta Thunberg has been dubbed by the media as a “climate change activist” and a teen “eco-warrior.” She was at the United Nations in New York last Monday to appear before diplomats and others at a “climate action summit.” Only the UN has less credibility than a teenager.

Thunberg is on a world tour promoting the latest end-of-the-planet scenario. By the way, shouldn’t she be in school? Reporters won’t ask because most appear to buy into her secular doctrine that the apocalypse is just around the corner.

Thunberg claims “people are dying” because the Earth is getting hotter. She warns that adults had better wake up or they will burn in ecological hell or perhaps even the real thing. Her theological qualifications have yet to be examined.

Think back to when you were 16 and believed you knew it all. At 18, an adult called me “precocious” (he didn’t mean it as a compliment). I had to look up the meaning in a dictionary. It was a humbling experience.

As their adolescent brains continue to develop, most teenagers know only what their teachers and textbooks tell them and maybe their parents, if they still listen to them. Science textbooks mostly embrace the climate change scenario, so why wouldn’t kids believe what they read and what they’re taught?

Thunberg was preparing to speak to the assembled adults at the UN when President Trump walked in ahead of her. The man knows showmanship. The expression on Thunberg’s face was priceless. If spitting fire contributed to “global warming,” we’d have been in real trouble.

It appears the girl is being held in intellectual captivity. She might benefit from consulting a list of “50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalytpic Predictions” compiled by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI.org), the nonprofit libertarian think tank based in Washington, D.C.

Just a few examples:

In 1967, the Los Angeles Times carried a story headlined “Dire Famine Forecast by 1975.” The story said it might “already be too late.”

On August 10, 1969, The New York Times quoted a 37-year-old scientist predicting a new ice age and that “everyone will disappear in a cloud of blue steam by 1989.”

An April 16, 1970 story in the Boston Globe quoted Dr. Paul R. Erlich of the University of California, Riverside, predicting America will be “subject to water rationing by 1974 and food rationing by 1980.” Erlich said the oceans would be as dead as Lake Erie in less than a decade.

On July 9, 1971, The Washington Post, which, like most other media, now claims climate change and a warming planet is “settled science,” thought differently then. It quoted Dr. S. I. Rasool of NASA and Columbia University. Rasool predicted a coming “new ice age.” He was described as a “leading atmospheric scientist,” so he should be believed, right? He predicted we had only about “50 or 60 years” to save ourselves from freezing to death.

On her way back to Sweden, Ms. Thunberg should take along a copy of the CEI summary. She just may discover that some older people might know more than she does about most things and that those who preceded her in these “Chicken Little” hysterics were as wrong then as she is now.   ~The Patriot Post
