Media Editors:  TROLL MASTER “President Trump said Friday his administration is ‘giving strong considerations’ to a controversial plan that would release migrants into so-called sanctuary cities, even though officials said the idea was never seriously considered. In a pair of tweets, Trump accused Democrats of being ‘unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws’ and suggested they should feel the consequences of what he has called the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.” (The Hill)
.
TEMPORARY BORDER SANITY: “The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of President Trump on Friday when it determined that the government can at least temporarily continue to send asylum-seekers back to Mexico. The asylum program was scheduled to be shut down at midnight under an order from District Judge Richard Seeborg, but the White House requested that the appeals court intervene. The 9th Circuit temporarily stayed the lower court’s ruling as the parties get ready to submit their arguments next week on the government’s request for a longer stay that would likely last months.” (The Hill)
.
BUTTIGIEG MAKES IT OFFICIAL “Pete Buttigieg, the little-known Indiana mayor who has risen to prominence in the early stages of the 2020 Democratic presidential race, made his official campaign entrance Sunday by claiming the mantle of a youthful generation ready to reshape the country,” the Associated Press reports. “Some polls put him behind only Vermont Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders, who sought the party’s nomination in 2016, and former Vice President loose lips-Joe Biden, who has not yet said he’s running.”
.
TRUMP’S IMPRESSIVE WAR CHEST: According to Fox News, “President Trump’s re-election campaign raised $30.3 million in the first quarter of this year, far pacing the leading fundraisers among the Democrats.” The average donation was $34.26, and 99% of all contributions consisted of $200 or less. “In all, the campaign had $40.8 million cash on hand, an unprecedented war chest for an incumbent president this early in the campaign. Trump’s fundraising ability was matched by the Republican National Committee, which brought in $45.8 million in the first quarter — its highest non-election year total.”
.
HOUSE DEMOCRATS’ NEW IRS ULTIMATUM: “House Democrats are giving the Trump administration a hard deadline of April 23 to turn over the president’s tax returns. … Legal experts have suggested that an outright denial of their request by [Treasury Secretary Steven] Mnuchin could be followed by subpoenas or a lawsuit in federal court. Mnuchin so far has only postponed responding to Democrats’ request and said he would confer with the Justice Department, but he has not yet rejected it.” (The Washington Post)
.
CULTURE OF DEATH GROWS: “New Jersey became the eighth state in the country to legalize assisted suicide on Friday. Democratic governor Phil Murphy signed legislation that will allow doctors to prescribe lethal doses of medicine to patients who have been diagnosed as terminally ill.” (The Washington Free Beacon)
.
NORTH KOREA TIMETABLE: Via The Hill: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has laid down an end-of-year marker for the United States to agree to terms for a nuclear deal while signaling he may agree to a third summit with President Trump. Kim said that he will wait ‘till the end of this year’ for the U.S. to decide to be more flexible in negotiations. … Kim called offers floated by the U.S. ‘absolutely impractical,’ arguing that the administration did ‘not really ready itself to sit with us face-to-face and settle the problem.’”
.
SICKENING OUTCOME: “The U.S. Justice Department won’t appeal a decision by a Detroit federal judge who threw out female genital mutilation charges against members of a Muslim sect. Solicitor General Noel Francisco calls it an ‘especially heinous practice.’ But in a letter to Congress, he says the law needs to be changed to be constitutional under U.S. Supreme Court precedent. Judge Bernard Friedman in November said the law was unconstitutional because Congress didn’t have power to regulate genital mutilation. … Dr. Jumana Nagarwala was accused of performing genital mutilation on nine girls at a suburban Detroit clinic.” (WXYZ Detroit)

“Three” FISA Applications Were
Denied in 2016 and What This Means

theconservativetreehouse.co } ~  During a rather innocuous podcast discussion panel yesterday, one of President Trump’s personal lawyers Jay Sekulow mentioned the FBI had three FISA applications denied by the FISA court in 2016... The denials were always suspected; however, until now no-one in/around the administration has ever confirmed. Jay Sekulow did not expand on his statement and did not explain where the information was derived from; however, if accurate this may explain the backstory to why FISA Judge Rudolph Contreras was recused. This issue has been nagging many people since the recusal notation in December 2017. On November 30th, 2017, Mike Flynn signed a guilty plea; ostensibly admitting lying to investigators. The plea was accepted by Judge Rudolph Contreras; who is also a FISA court judge. Six days later, December 7th, 2017, Judge Contreras “was recused” from the case without explanation. The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia judge presiding over the criminal case for President Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has been recused from handling the case, a court spokeswoman said on Thursday. The only two significant things that happened between the initial Mike Flynn plea hearing and the recusal from Judge Contreras was: #1) The stories about anti-Trump FBI Agent Peter Strzok and his involvement with Fusion-GPS and Christopher Steele (keep this in mind as it pertains to FISC presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer); and #2) FBI Director Chris Wray appearing before the House Judicial Committee and hearing Representative Jim Jordan demand to see the 2016 FISA application...   https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/04/13/jay-sekulow-three-fisa-applications-were-denied-in-2016-and-what-this-means/

European Churches: Vandalized,
Defecated On, and Torched "Every Day"

gatestoneinstitute.org } ~ Countless churches throughout Western Europe are being vandalized, defecated on, and torched. In France, two churches are desecrated every day on average... According to PI-News, a German news site, 1,063 attacks on Christian churches or symbols (crucifixes, icons, statues) were registered in France in 2018. This represents a 17% increase compared to the previous year (2017), when 878 attacks were registered— meaning that such attacks are only going from bad to worse. Among some of the recent desecrations in France, the following took place in just February and March: Vandals plundered Notre-Dame des Enfants Church in Nîmes and used human excrement to draw a cross there; consecrated bread was found thrown outside among garbage. The Saint-Nicolas Church in Houilles was vandalized on three separate occasions in February; a 19th century statue of the Virgin Mary, regarded as "irreparable," was "completely pulverized," said a clergyman; and a hanging cross was thrown to the floor. Vandals desecrated and smashed crosses and statues at Saint-Alain Cathedral in Lavaur, and mangled the arms of a statue of a crucified Christ in a mocking manner. In addition, an altar cloth was burned. Arsonists  torched the Church of St. Sulpice in Paris soon after midday mass on Sunday, March 17. Similar reports are coming out of Germany. Four separate churches were vandalized and/or torched in March alone. "In this country," PI-News explained, "there is a creeping war against everything that symbolizes Christianity: attacks on mountain-summit crosses, on sacred statues by the wayside, on churches... and recently also on cemeteries."...

freebeacon.com } ~ Illegal leaks of classified information have reportedly reached "record high levels" during the Trump administration, according to a nonprofit group citing DOJ stats... "Agencies transmitted 120 leak referrals to the Justice Department in 2017, and 88 leak referrals in 2018, for an average of 104 per year," the Federation of American Scientists reported, citing numbers issued by the Justice Department. "By comparison, the average number of leak referrals during the scumbag/liar-nObama Administration (2009–2016) was 39 per year."While Trump administration officials have sought to stem the flow of these leaks, they appear to have continued at record levels."It has continued," FAS noted in its newsletter. "Despite preventive efforts, the 2018 total of 88 leak referrals was still higher than any reported pre-Trump figure. The previous high in recent decades had been 55 referrals in 2013 and in 2007. The lowest was 18 in 2015.." "The newly released aggregate data on classified leak referrals serve as a reminder that leaks of classified information are a ‘normal,' predictable occurrence," FAS reported. "There is not a single year in the past decade and a half for which data are available when there were no such criminal referrals."

Why Are Young Americans So Miserable?

freebeacon.com } ~ Survey after survey shows young Americans are increasingly unhappy, depressed, and even suicidal. They are America's future, and their outlook makes that future look grim... What's the matter with kids today? Recent years have seen a rise in Americans 12 to 25 saying they are unhappy. Since 2012, the proportion of 8th and 10th graders who tell the Monitoring the Future survey that they felt unhappy has crept up from 13 percent to 18 percent. In roughly the same time, the proportion of 18- to 25-year-olds who say they are unhappy has risen from 11 to 17 percent, according to the General Social Survey. These small increases under represent the growing group of young people for whom life has grown unbearable. Among both high schoolers and young adults, incidences of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness—culminating in major depressive episodes—have risen substantially. A recent survey from the Pew Research Center found that 70 percent of teenagers think anxiety and depression are major problems among their peers, easily outpacing bullying or drug addiction. In the worst cases, these feelings may translate into thoughts of, or plans for, suicide. A recent survey, for example, found that the number of children 5 to 17 being admitted to hospitals for self-harm and suicide attempts doubled between 2008 and 2015. Even more sobering are the rising suicide rates themselves. Why are young people so unhappy? Any big social phenomenon will have multiple causes, and everything from  overprotective parents to a culture of safety has been blamed. That said, a few big trends in socialization, technology, and education may shed some light on how today's young people are living different, less happy lives...
A sudden cluster of Islamic
terror attacks on synagogues, thwarted
by Monica Showalter

americanthinker.com } ~ For all the left's howls about 'Islamophobia' and its supposed 'endangering' of Muslims, the real issue is anti-Semitism and the terror attacks now surging from it...
Three Islam-motivated massacres on synagogues — in Ohio, Montana, and Georgia — were all thwarted in just the last five months, with very little press coverage about how close the terrorists came. Frontline's Daniel Greenfield has a disturbing piece on the incidents, as well news of a surge of crazed Jew-hating rhetoric from Muslim leaders that has risen in assorted mosques around the country, which may be fueling it.  He writes: All three Muslim terrorists were ISIS supporters. They were the same age and scattered around the country, from Montana to Georgia to Ohio. They origins lay in different cultures and parts of the world. And yet their terror plots all targeted Jews. What was it that created this cluster of three Islamic terror plots against synagogues? He thinks it's connected to the surge in Jew-hating rhetoric and actual calls for violence against Jews suddenly coming out of mosques throughout the country: Last year, there was a similar cluster, not of attack plots, but of incitement to violence. In December 2017, an Imam in New Jersey had been caught preaching of the Jews, "Count them one by one, and kill them down to the very last one. Do not leave a single one on the face of the Earth." In February 2018, an Imam in Texas had urged fighting the Jews and a Syrian refugee Imam in North Carolina had recited a hadith calling for the extermination of the Jews, "We will fight those Jews until the rocks and the trees will speak: 'Oh Muslim, this is a Jew behind me.'" The geographic diversity of these calls to violence in mosques from New Jersey to North Carolina to Texas, echoed the diversity of the latest Islamic terror plots in Montana, Georgia and Ohio. There is no particular reason to think that the three terrorists were influenced by imams from other states. What these numbers reveal is the incredible scope and range of Islamic anti-Semitism and violence in America...

Expelling Corruption From Government Schools

Mark Alexander:  If a socially responsible media outlet wants to expose urban government corruption across the nation, start in a city that is imploding under the weight of institutional corruption: Baltimore, Maryland. And if you want to expose the most consequential corruption in that city, start with how its education bureaucracy is failing students. And if that city stonewalls your inquiry, hire a good legal team to tear down that wall.

When Baltimore’s FOX45 affiliate of Sinclair Broadcast Group opened its “Project Baltimore” investigation of a suspected grade-inflation scheme in Baltimore City Schools, a charade to create the appearance that the school system’s performance is much better than it actually is, the city refused to release relevant records. (I know, you’re shocked.) FOX45 filed suit, and a Baltimore judge ruled that school bureaucrats “knowingly and willfully” violated the law when refusing to release those records.

Apparently, school-system officials did not want to release information that might incriminate those involved with fraudulently advancing students through the system who don’t merit advancement.

Of course, Baltimore bureaucrats have more pressing issues than educating children, like providing cover for their corrupt mayor, or taking cover to dodge bullets and robbers, or defending the city’s LGBTQ agenda.

Responding to the judge’s ruling, FOX45’s counsel, Thomas and Libowitz attorney Scott Marder, declared, “It’s a victory for teachers, parents, taxpayers, but most of all, students. I hope that this is the first step towards some accountability.” Marder added, “The judge heard all of the evidence and found … that they intentionally violated the law. … Decisions like this are critical to accountability in government. Oftentimes, government will think that it’s above the law, and in this case, the judge said in fact that the school system thought they were above the law.”

Sinclair executive Scott Livingston added, “These alleged deceptions used to create an image of improved performance are a disservice to the children of Baltimore, who deserve an education system that provides them with the tools they need to succeed in life.”

Baltimore city-school spokesperson Anne Fullerton rebutted, “We believe the Court’s ruling … will have a chilling effect on investigations. … We are currently reviewing the ruling to determine possible next steps.”

“Next steps” is legal speak for how to further obfuscate evidence of corruption and fraud. But indeed, this ruling will have a “chilling effect” — there are school administrators in other corrupt urban centers who are feeling that chill. Perhaps Baltimore will now become a model for something good — how Sinclair’s investigative journalists can expel corruption from other government-school bureaucracies across the country. I nominate Detroit as their next target.  ~The Patriot Post
