Bill Maher issued a challenge to Republicans on Friday's Real Time: put your money where your mouth is already and just impeach President Obama. Maher argued, "If you really believe Benghazi is that serious and Obama is that big a crook, then you should impeach him tomorrow." And, Maher said, it would actually help the president, because a partisan attempt to impeach him would trigger a popularity surge.

POLL: Do House Conservatives Have Enough Evidence to Impeach Obama?

Maher compared Republican "blather" on Benghazi to "trying to relate to someone who's tripping when you're not." He tore into the GOP and Fox News for having a near-single-minded obsession with Benghazi above all else, in a bubble where "rational arguments don't matter" and Fox will ignore whatever Obama says unless it's about Benghazi.

  • Bill Maher is a Dick!!!!
  • Hey guys let's just stick our heads in the sand and pretend Benghazi didn't happen.
  • Maher is probably correct.  Impeachment didn't bother Clinton and it won't bother Berry Soetoro, Soabarka, Obama.  The Man is more open with his tyranny than any American has ever witnessed and he is able to buy off, scare off or kill of anyone who opposes him.

With the kind of power that Kenyan wields he is capable of doing almost anything he wants to and no one would stop him, I mean how many examples do you need.

Clint Eastwood said at the RNC that "Obama will not leave voluntarily," and I'm sure he was correct, further I see no sign of his planning any changes beyond 2016 (because he'll still be in the WH--I would even posit that Hillary has not announced her candidacy for the simple reason that she knows what he has planned for us--and we won't enjoy it.

  • What a fn jerk.If there was a person you would just want to ------- it would be him. Is he a him. I dont know.

  • It would take 2 years to impeach him and get him out of office, unless it was either an emergency, or you force him to resign through a plea bargain.... His term will be over in two anyways.. The best thing to do is concentrate efforts to create laws to get a dangerous president out of office if they are found to abuse it......

  • He is correct about making him popular again! That is how the morals of our country have so declined. Those who listen to this disrespectful fool are just as bad as he and might as well say the same things! Note the other nut with his own program tells jokes, also, about very serious issues including murder and treason!

  • If the shtf, he would be in hiding for fear of people taking action against people like him that have ruined this country. Be careful what you wish for Maher.

MrMartini: The original question was: "How many Presidents served two terms or more terms in office?" Does the questioner mean "two full terms" or portions of two terms? (that distinction is important).

The answer, as I see it, is 13 (counting the current president).

    1. George Washington

    2. Thomas Jefferson

    3. James Madison

    4. James Monroe

    5. Andrew Jackson

    6. Ulysses S. Grant

    7. Grover Cleveland (2 full, non-consecutive terms)

    8. Woodrow Wilson

    9. Franklin D. Roosevelt (served 3 fulls terms and died early in his 4th term).

    10. Dwight Eisenhower

    11. Ronald Reagan

    12. Bill Clinton

    13. George W. Bush (assuming that he serves until Jan. 20, 2009).

There were three presidents who were elected to two terms, but they didn't complete the second term:

    1. Abraham Lincoln (assassinated at the beginning of his second term).

    2. William McKinley (assassinated at the beginning of his second term).

    3. Richard Nixon (resigned during his second term).

There were four presidents who were elected to a second term, but they hadn't been elected to the first (they didn't serve a full first term).

    1. Theodore Roosevelt (completed McKinley's second term and was elected to one term of his own).

    2. Calvin Coolidge (completed Warren Harding's term and was elected to one term of his own).

    3. Harry Truman (completed FDR's fourth term and was elected to one term of his own).

    4. Lyndon B. Johnson (completed Kennedy's term and was elected to one term of his own).

  • A third or even a 4th term for Obama, as disgusting as that sounds, is not without precednt.

It happened many years ago so some folks don't know or have forgot but Franklin D. Roosevelt,FDR, was "elected" for 4 terms.

    Nov 7, 1944:

    FDR wins unprecedented fourth term

--- On this day in 1944, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt is elected to an unprecedented fourth term in office. FDR remains the only president to have served more than two terms.

Roosevelt rose above personal and political challenges to emerge as one of the nation's most revered and influential presidents. In 1921, at the age of 29, he contracted polio and thereafter was burdened with leg braces; eventually, he was confined to a wheelchair. From the time he was first elected to the presidency in 1932 to mid-1945, when he died while in office, Roosevelt presided over two of the biggest crises in U.S. history: the Great Depression of the 1930s and World War II. FDR implemented drastic and oft-criticized legislation to help boost America out of the Great Depression. Although he initially tried to avoid direct U.S. involvement in World War II, which began in 1939, the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 thrust American headlong into the conflict.
