Ted Cruz for 2016 POTUS

By Oscar Y. Harward

After winning (y)our Republican Party’s 1st 2016 Primary Election in Iowa, Ted Cruz’s campaign moves into New Hampshire; the 2nd GOP Primary.

New Hampshire, the Granite State, practices an honorable motto; ‘Live Free or Die’.  New Hampshire is one of the few states having no ‘state income tax’.

Earlier, New Hampshire was a very Conservative voting state.  Ronald Reagan highly regarded New Hampshire.  In a 1980 GOP Presidential debate, Ronald Reagan refused allowing his Conservative voice and values to be silenced.

On February 9, New Hampshire has the opportunity to vote for another Ronald Reagan ‘look-alike’ candidate; as Ted Cruz on fiscal, social, and National Security issues.

Ted Cruz (R-TX) has an incredible ‘Bio’ duplicating Ronald Reagan’s consistent Conservative positions on fiscal, social, and National Security issues.

In my more than 50 years of GOP participation, including President Reagan’s tenure, and other Conservative Republican Party political candidates who support Constitutional freedoms and values based on Judeo-Christian principles, Ted Cruz is the best candidate ‘ever’ who is more knowledgeable, skilled, ready, electable, and determined to restore our USA.

Join the campaign; Ted Cruz for 2016 President of the United States.

God Bless America!

Republican Party leaders are joining President Obama and Democrat Party leaders on anti-Christian issues while accommodating misinformed Constitutional rights.

GOP leaders are displaying their weaknesses as untrusted Constitutional leaders; ignoring and/or rejecting our GOP Platform issues.

What has happened to the Republican Party leadership?  GOP leaders are compromising on Christian values in accepting the Democrat Party’s same-sex, homosexuality, and lesbian activity; all funded and supported for these nauseous behaviors.

Governors’ Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) and Dan Malloy (D-CT)), other Capitol Hill Democrat Party leaders, and other Republican Party leaders are showing their own weaknesses of Christian values as articulated in our Founding Fathers writings and applied to within our Constitution.

Republican Party leaders, including Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN), Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), Gov. Pat McCrory (R-NC), and other Republican Party leaders are yielding in to disgusting activity rather than supporting Christian value issues as proclaimed within our GOP Platform.

These Democrat and Republican Party leaders are tapping the ‘Main-stream’ Medias as their propellant in supporting their own immoral political weaknesses.

There is no Constitutional ‘Right’ to cram nauseous behaviors down our throat.

At the same time, (y)our 1st Amendment protects all who choose to believe, support, practice, and express (y)our Christian Religion values without any misguided Constitutional abuses.

GOP leaders are fading as they disallow and/or dismiss our Constitutional values based on Christian values.  Some 2016 Presidential candidates and others are losing their Christian-based voters and their support therein.

Do your parents say or do things like this?
You want to put me in a home?
When rearending four cars; it wasn't my fault they stopped to fast!
The trashcan jumped out in front of me.
The curb was too close to the street.
Won't take a cab; even though they can darn well afford it?
Leaves water running over in a bathroom sink for an hour and does damage to areas of carpet in four rooms?
Leave milk out or other cold items for hours?
Other forgetful indicators of dementia of some sort?
Has a personality change; either becomes really negative or sweet sweet?
Here is a letter I wrote to my sister in a journal but never gave her.
Dear Sister:
I know you love mom. You are an angel. You have been in some ways more of a mother to me than mom sometimes. You want to mother everyone, including my son Tanner. You are warn out. I know you are working on getting mom help. Sister it is okay to give up.
Setting boudaries is okay. Or, but mom in assisted living for a while until the medication either works or doesn't work. You are showing signs of being worn out.
I know you don't ask more of me than I can give. At one point I would have drained myself like you are. I realize now that I can no longer drain myself and take care of an autistic son. Plus, ______(husband...fell at work needs knee surgery but ended up with Deep Vein Thombosis, and Pulmonary Emboli...but God saw these were caught and he is alive...with filter in place to catch clots) needs special attention. I also have been sick with high fevers over the last two years. The only thing showing up is high C-Reactive protein and cortisol levels; indicating stress. Well now that I have gone 2 months with only two fevers and one sinus infection; I am exercising and committed to preserving this break in my health.
The bottom line is I can help but not on the level mom needs. Sister, I can't tell you what to do. I can tell you that none of us are equipped to help 24/7. Or, total to fill in the holes. You have a job. I don't want you to carry such a burden. Think about what I have said. You are a loving carring person but overloading yourself may make you not able to be there down the road when mom may need us further.
We have tried to get her to go and get medication that would help her to stay in her home. If being in assisted living would help until medication or a solution would help....that would be great. However, I am worried she may be unsafe by herself. Unless she agrees to having help come in a couple of days a week and going to adult daycare 2 days a week; I feel she must be placed in assisted living. However, my sister is in charge.
My therapist has taught me about boundaries. She uses the airplane analogy about parents putting on your oxygen mask first before placing it on small children. If a parent isn't breathing; they cannot help their child(ren) effectively. The same goes for helping their parents.
Here are some resources that should be helpful for caregivers and some specific to elderly.

Tanner, "What does this mean?
Tanner, "What does this mean?

If you are the parent of a child with special needs are autism you will understand this story better than mosts.

Ever have a child on the spectrum have a melt down, normal need, or seemingly tantrum for no need drive you crazy?  I don't mean where you were going to do bodily harm to a child.  I mean where you felt you were a bad mother, worthless because you couldn't figure out how to help your child and more things like this.

I will give you one or two short examples.

My son is autistic, has Asperger's or High Functioning Autism.  Labels only meant something for me as a jumping point to reasearch how to help him the best I could. Otherwise, I really do hate labels; except when filing insurance claims and then I want as many labels as I can think of.

Tanner, my son, had a three hour meltdonw at fifteen months.  He cried, screamed and I think did some head banging if I am not mistaken on my recall. I did all the motherly things.  I tried to hold and comfort him.  Now I know routine is important to all kids but this goes beyond that.

I went outside to take a two minute deep breath.  Most likely this was much shorter but helped me recompose myself.  I was so out a lose as what to do for Tanner. I know he was miserable but everything I tried didn't work.

I need stories from mothers to put in my book.  I don't just want my stories. I want major stories of meltdowns to help young mothers.  Young couples have a rough time of it dealing with this.  I am sure it strains realtionships.  Help me help younger mothers, fathers and professionals by giving me your stories.

Get rich? My goal? Not really! It is going to cost me to get the book published. I am positive in my abilities but I may fail.  I want to, once I have reached costs back and a specific point...trust me....I want to do this..reach a point where 50% of my profits are given to charity of autism, special needs and such charities.

Back to my story.  Can you guess what he wanted? How it was resolved?  Well, Tanner finally figued it out by himself.  He went to the diswaher, at fifteen months, opened it and got his favorite cup out.  Autistics love routine, rituals and odd behaviors.

Think how much we can give to younger parents!  Give them a jump on the learning curve by sharing such stories.   Have an idea for an autism book you think should be covered? Email me at ollamok@aol.com  or post it on this facebook page   www.facebook.com/Tell.It.Once.4Autism. Comment on my blog.

Let me interview you for my book.  You have knowledge and expertise that is worth telling. Tell me so I can Tell It ONce and For Autism!

More examples will follow in other posts.

What value is the Republican Party ‘Platform’ other than a ‘piece of paper’ when (y)our ‘GOP leadership’ is shaped and approved from the ‘grassroots’ of our Party, displayed as a roadmap for leaders to follow, but its’ precise and detailed values are ‘never applied’ or ‘required’?

Is it possible for the Republican Party ‘leadership’ to return our GOP and our nation back to include a ‘common-sense’ GOP Platform on ‘social issues’, or is the GOP going to continue downhill and into the sewer?

Will the GOP return to Christian values as our Founding Fathers established in our Constitution?  Many others are more than willing to follow the GOP as our Party will then expand.

When President Ronald Reagan said to ‘Build a big tent’, he explained the need to build the Republican Party with others who would support similar ‘social and fiscal’ issues some 80% of the time.  Support of the issues must be based on ‘differing’ issues; Liberal Democrat Party issues v. Conservative Republican Party issues.  President Reagan’s ‘win’ was to persuade others to accept his philosophy; and not for President Reagan, you and/or me to accept theirs.

The Republican Party Platform and its’ ‘leadership’ must subscribe to ‘Social, Fiscal, and National Security’ issues; in that order.  When the ‘Social’ issues become the forerunner, the other issue concerns follow in the ‘right’ path; not necessarily so in any other order.

If the GOP ‘leadership’ continues to degrade (y)our Republican Party based on ‘shameful’, ‘immoral’, and/or other ‘wasteful spending’ on fiscal issues, the Republican Party will die and ‘many others’ will move forward with another “Party” based on ‘moral, fiscal, and National Security’ issue values.

Our Republican Party does not need ‘Republicans In Name Only’ (RINO) or any other ‘Democrat look-alikes’ in our Party.

‘Main-stream Medias’ and Liberal Democrats steer the ‘out-of-control’ spending while ‘RINO’ Republicans join the left-wing Democrats’ proposals in crossing the ‘political aisle’ to vote and accept more additional spending.  Secondly, these same legislators prepare and dominate lower social standards.  These ‘left-wing’ agendas are wrong.

It is this ‘left-wing’ representation that has and is leaving our ‘ever-growing’ National Debt approaching $17 Trillion.  At the same time, our Judiciary, our ‘public schools’, and our Liberal elected and appointed bureaucrats are ignoring and/or disobeying our Constitution, US Code, and our States’ General Statutes.  Active elected and appointed Democrats and ‘Democrat look-alikes’ masked as ‘RINO’ Republicans are guiding our declining communities with more unfeeling, senseless, and lawless activity.  Our nation is becoming a ‘nation of individuals’ as our freedoms slide away from a ‘system of laws’.

There is more to being a ‘sincere’ Republican Party candidate than putting an ‘R’ beside any individual’s name.  A ‘genuine’ Republican Party candidate will support at least 80% of our ‘social, fiscal, and National Security’ issues as defined in our Republican Party ‘Platform’.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) must save our Republican Party’s ‘donor dollars’ in providing support for responsible GOP candidates who will support the GOP Platform, and to save our USA.  (Y)our Republican Party ‘Platform’ is a roadmap; lead yourself, or follow others to greatness in America.  Help all ‘devoted’ true Republican Party candidates make it happen!

The Blog Post "ItsYourIssue.com was" created >3 yrs ago and the link "About this Site" is printed below.  It is the Executive Summary of a proposal that my partner & I were going to send to prospective partners who would help fund the needed technical, marketing, and management talent to get this major project online. It would enable every member to send FREE correspondence to their "supposed" reps. However, it is still a skeleton and I, alone, am continuing the fight to save our Constituion and America's freedoms.

The maintenance of the Web Mall would be paid for by banner ads above the articles. If you read an article, you will learn  about any political issue, then click on the "Letters" link below it. A variety of interactive letters with Title Links would open for the member to choose from and modify as desired. Then they could click on Email/FAX/Both, and when they click on "Send", their own personal page (created from their zip code) would show names, titles and contact info of every one of their politicians or media, from local to national. In about 1/2 hr, you could learn about an issue, modify a letter and add your contact info, and then click on names of one or ALL to send it to by both Fax & email without paying a dime.  If our politicians are drowned by thousands of letters every day, they would have to pay attention to the voters, and could no longer ignore us. This could stop the corruption, and possibly even start Recalls and a vote for Treason for the VIPs. Then we can clean house, vet all the politicians, and get rid of the corrupt. We could take back control, since neither the Democrats or Republicans seem to be worried enough to get their hands dirty.

It's Your Issue

We help you communicate with your elected representatives.

Mission Statement

The mission of ItsYourIssue.com, a unique internet utility, is to provide a thus-far unfulfilled, easily utilized, and desperately needed communications channel between concerned citizens and their government representatives and/or the media. As people review the multitude of web sites that provide news/views about political, social, economic, and domestic/foreign policy issues, many feel an urgent need to rise up and shout "NO." Now, ItsYourIssue.com can be the no-cost vehicle for all of them to quickly and efficiently reach their representatives in order to communicate their questions, demands and complaints.

The Issues

Americans are living in a period of transition, and millions of them are uneasy about the changes they see. Worse yet, they feel frustrated and impotent because there is no easy way to communicate their concerns. The very segment of the population that should have the most influence in determining government policies--working Americans--are the people who participate the least. Few of them have time to research facts about an issue; write a cogent, well-informed letter, and learn how and where to send it. They don't have time, and they don't want to wait for their views to get to their representatives, because they want to make a difference now!

Currently, thousands of special-interest web sites and blogs focus on--and are generally well-informed about--a few specific issues. Their purpose is to influence public opinion so that people will be motivated to contact their representatives with their demands, and thus affect public policy. However, some of those web sites charge a significant amount of money to send out prepared faxes; others ask you to sign a petition which they will email; while many plead for viewers to write letters to fax or mail, or even to make telephone calls to their representatives. None of these methods are self-satisfying or very effective in achieving their goals. The result is that our representatives live in a bubble dominated by their party constituents, lobbyists and well-funded special interest groups. We, the people, are left out of the loop.

Before the creation of ItsYourIssue.com, there was no existing framework for time-strapped citizens to reach their politicians or the media. That has changed, as ItsYourIssue.com provides a free, powerful tool for all web sites to influence government policy by making it very easy for their readers to learn about the issues and then contact their representatives. Every American can deluge their representatives with their requests and/or demands, and then they can make a difference.

The Model

ItsYourIssue.com uses a unique, dynamic, multi-layered advertising model that allows its use to be free to all. The use of an open-source model (such as Wikipedia) will keep the content current with evolving events and issues, and will make this site very attractive to use for anyone concerned about government actions, bills or policies. An added attraction is that the site will make it easy, fast and efficient for citizens to communicate their concerns to their elected representatives as well as to the media. This will emphasize the messages that Americans are sending to every level of government--from national, state, and district--down to county and city.

Discrete page generation for each individual user will allow the most relevant and concise advertising targeted to the user as he moves from issue to issue and through each political level, from national to local. A separate banner or column for advertisers will appear at the top and/or bottom of each issue page and every letter page referring to each issue at every political level.

Advertising on each layer will be targeted to the users' interests, gender and geographical location; so that interest-specific advertising will follow users clear down to the city or town level. The Second Amendment issue makes a good example: Southern states' users interested in border security might see advertising from insurance companies at the national level, private security companies at the state level, lawyers at the district level, and gun shops at the county and city level. A variety of the ads could be placed on the Article pages as well. We believe that this targeted, multi-layered advertising model will be very compelling for a wide and diversified advertising base. The dynamic, diversified and actionable content will ensure a very high level of consistent traffic.

Nuts And Bolts

ItsYourIssue.com provides a forum for blogs, informational sites, news sites and special interest sites of all political persuasions to compete in the arena of ideologies. The users will be able to compare issues information between their own political philosophy and several others to determine the views that best fits his or her values.

Any web site interested in shaping public opinion or policy can provide an ItsYourIssue link button at the end of any particular article. If a reader clicks on it, the site then leads to a number of interactive letters emphasizing that belief system for the viewer to choose from, to modify, and to add personal contact information. Another link opens to each viewer's personal page of political representatives at all levels, complete with all contact information. There, they can choose to send the letter supporting their particular point of view to any number of their representatives via email and/or fax, as well as to local or national media and to themselves.

We believe that some people will go to ItsYourIssue.com for the purpose of communicating with their representatives about specific issues that have been in the news or that they are passionate about. They may want to view the status of current issues, and to compare the competing letters about these issues. The home page of ItsYourIssue.com directs a new user to register, for which a sign-up box opens in a new, secure window to insert personal information, including their email address, a password and the zip code. A user who logs in with that information is forwarded to a page with a current list of national issues' links on one side, and his own State, District, County and City links on the other side. (The local information would be automated by each user's zip code.)

If he is interested in a national issue and clicks on--say--The Second Amendment link, he would find a short definition of the Second Amendment, the current issues involving it, and any related information. By clicking on a link on that page to Articles, the user would see a choice of several articles on the issue. If he wants more information on the subject, he can read two or more articles.

A list of competing open-source letters on this issue (with title links) would be included in a side column on each Articles page. Each title, when clicked on, would open into a full-sized window. The user could then read one or (by returning to the previous list) a series of current letters written by people who wish to influence government policy in one direction or another. The letters would be event driven. Some letters would be contributed by well-known writers and commentators. Most would come from blogs, special interest sites, or political sites. The source of the letters will always be displayed to the users, so the user can better assess bias and validity. No letters will be displayed unless they can be sourced to a specific writer. The site's interactive provisions allow a user to modify a chosen letter to give it a personal touch and their contact information before it is sent to the intended targets, whether those are political representatives or media commentators.

In a box at the bottom of each letter, two link buttons are titled: Representatives and Media. When--say--the member clicks on Representatives, another window will open with all his personal National, State, District, County and City representatives listed, along with their titles, email addresses, phone and fax numbers, and mailing address. Next to the email and fax contact information would be the directive: Send by: above open boxes next to both Email and Fax, one or both of which is to be checked by the user. When he checks the Email and/or the Fax box, and then presses Enter, the letter is sent immediately.

If he also wants to send the letter to the media, he could then back up to the previous page and click on the Media button. If he would like a copy of the letter sent to his email address, a box could also be checked for that to occur. In just a few easy steps, that voter will have communicated fluently with his chosen national representatives and/or commentators and newspaper editors, and even have a copy to insert into a Political Folder of his own.

The same construction would apply to each political level of each user of the web site. After completing their national communications, the member would be encouraged to go to the next level--to their State, where one would see a whole new archived list of issues. They could respond or not, just as they did with national issues. Next they could view (and possibly respond to) their District issues, County issues and finally their City issues. At each political level, advertising relevant to that location would be inserted, just as it was at the National level.

Discussion

Because ItsYourIssue.com has an infinite number of issues to cover, we expect to attract an infinite number of users. We believe that as a result of its ease of use, we expect to be the "go-to" website for millions of working Americans that do not have the time, the knowledge of the issues, or the passion to dedicate themselves to activism. We also expect to see a good deal of cross-pollination, exposing users to a much broader array of issues and advertisers. It is unlikely that a person interested in Second Amendment rights would not be interested in Illegal Immigration issues, or even Health Care issues.

We believe that this novel concept, when implemented, will generate millions of page views a day by attracting virtually anyone who has even a passing interest in what government is doing. We are confident that this model will appeal to the broadest possible array of advertisers as well as users--national, state, district, county, and city. To our knowledge, this concept is new and innovative; and it affords investors the opportunity to make a very good return on investment by providing a service that is not available anywhere else.

Help to patriot candidates - issues and terms

In Maryland, Free State Patriots has conducted forums for vetting patriot candidates, using the tools of the Patriot Vetting Committee.  These are available free to all patriot groups.  We have endorsed several solid patriot candidates who are running hard for election in November.

In the process of the forums, as moderator, I have learned a lot about issues, terms and communication, which I am organizing into commentaries.  I'm sharing this information with any patriot group in the country.  Here are the particulars:

In Maryland, PVC-affiliated 'Free State Patriots" (FSP) has now completed a series of candidate vetting forums, which has already produced some excellent results.  FSP patriot candidates endorsed and still actively running in the November elections are : Daniel Bongino (US Senate); Frank Mirabile (US congress -  07) Ken Timmerman (US congress 08) and Faith Loudon (US congress - 04).

Beyond that, as moderator of the forums, I have compiled a series of "lessons" we have learned from this experience, which can benefit patriot candidates anywhere.

Part 1: "Glossary of Terms" -- meaning of phrases, such as 'safety net" used in radical socialism to disguise and confuse their true meaning.  Exposing lies is often the main way of assuring good communication with voters.

Part 2: "Issues" -- key areas of interest in the elections, such as 'deficit spending" "illegal immigration" and "education" -- comments about each, including facts, background, and proposed solutions to help sharpen the clear presentation of issues to the general public; and in debate with candidates embracing radical socialism.

Find these commentaries at the Free State Patriots website: http://www.meetup.com/Free-State-Patriots/files/

The Patriot Vetting Committee (PVC) offers help and guidance to patriot groups, such as Free State Patriots who are turning the tide of radical socialism -- to re-direct our country to the path of liberty and limited, constitutional government.

For more details, go to the Patriot Vetting Committee website , http://patriotvoting.com Affiliate your group, and get on board in this vital fight for liberty and limited, constitutional government. Contact me directly if you have questions or would like personal discussion.

Hello Tea Party Patriots...

Here is my story.  When Heard President Obama state that we were no longer a Judeo Christian Nation...I woke up.

1.  I did my homework through Wallbuilders and The American Heritage Series.  Then I completed two online courses through halearn.com/Heritage Academy/American Constitution and Government Part I and Part II.

2.   I put my papers into a book and was able to get it published through Authorhouse.com.  Dr. W. Cleon Skousen published The Five Thousand Year Leap:  A Miracle That Changed The World.  His book is easy to read and brought the confusion of politics into clear focusw.  Dr Skousen said many times that the Founder's success formula would solve nearly every problem we have in America today.  Really?  Can any knowledge be more helpful to the rising generation of Leaders in America?  The purpose of my book, The Writings of an American Mother in 2010:  Principles of the Founding Fathers and Current Issues...planting the seeds of Leadership is to encourage people to review our past, our history as a country, the 28 Principles of our Founding Fathers and how they relate to current issues...then develop your own viewpoint through critical thinking and doing your own homework...becoming an Active American Citizen!

3.  I sent a hardcover copy of my book to 40 high profile people.

4.  I created a web page for my book, www.maryaeli com , which offers a view of the book or you can go to amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com

5.   A Youtube Video was created for my book as part of a 200,000 email campaign.  You can view the video at YouTube/Writings of an American Mother in 2010.

Would love feedback!

To the People of the Republic of Texas:

April 30, 2011 in the Year of Our Lord

It is with little hope of publication that I sit to record these, my thoughts on the current state of affairs affecting our Republic of Texas. Many are the ills confronting us as a people of this proud state, indeed, too many to commiserate here in a limited missive.

I have been awakened on occasion the last few years by a loud thumping noise. The noise vexed me greatly for I could discern no ready source of the chaotic din. After long hours of intense contemplation, and some investigation, I have discovered the source. It is the sound of the past patriots of the Texas soul spinning in their graves. Sam Houston, Stephen Austin, William Travis, Jim Bowie, Ben Milam, and a host of others have indeed polished the insides of their coffins. The despicable levels we have allowed this once great and noble example of liberty to descend to are unconscionable. The Lone Star no longer waves proudly for all to see. Instead it hangs limply in shame for want of a patriotic spirit in its peoples.

There is no question, at least in my admittedly limited intellect, that we are in the closing stages of a long, protracted agenda intended to strip the peoples of the United States of all that freedom and liberty once meant. We are being morphed from free citizens with rights reserved to subjects with no such rights as are not allowed to us by our masters. The usurpations and transgressions are too many to list, yet a few of the most onerous must indeed  be addressed.

The problem as I see it is we are being attacked from so many directions that we lose focus on what is important to us as citizens of Texas. To be sure, the national issues must be confronted; however, it is apparent to my poor cognizance that we should perhaps get our own house in order before cleaning up the neighborhood. Perchance, if the citizens of the greatest state in the union can stand up and loudly proclaim “Cease!  No More!”  then the other more timid will find their wits and courage and follow the example. Texas and Texicans have a moral imperative to be leaders in the defense of our rights and liberties. The spirit of Goliad, the Alamo and San Jacinto courses hotly through our veins. The honor and sacrifice of those Texicans who rose and defended the union in World Wars one and two deserve no less. The countless brave souls who have spent their lives and honor to protect us in undeclared “wars” and “police actions” deserve no less. And finally, we who have been graced by the almighty to have been born in this great state must rise to our rightful height of dignity and honor and lead where no other will advance. If our current state leadership is not up to the task, we must cast them aside and find those who will lead. We can no longer sit and listen to the mindless drivel being spewed by our leaders. Mediocrity and compliance are no longer possible or desired. We need leaders who will protect and defend most vigorously our rights and interests as Texicans.

Much is being said about the process of State nullification. Many brush it aside as wishful thinking and others merely shrug out of ignorance of the process. Rest assured fellow Texicans, nullification is a real, viable reply to the transgressions of the mighty. It is a remedy that we should be pursuing with boldness and intent. Alas, the only alternatives are secession or, worse, submission.  Dissolution of the union is not an option in my opinion.  Forcefully returning it to its enumerated scope of powers is an option and in these times, a vital necessity.

The uncertainty of will would seem to me to be a serious lack of education. Our children are no longer taught to be citizens. They are instead taught to do whatever makes them feel good. It would appear that self-esteem is thought to be more important than intellect and integrity.  There is no right or wrong, only that which pleases us. Our churches, schools and most definitely our parents have instilled no sense of patriotism or civic mindedness in our youngsters. How then are they to defend themselves against those who would harm them? Would you have them become a herd of mindless, obedient slaves to the moneyed elite? Would you condemn them to an eternity of abject servitude to a powerful nanny state that forbids individuality and independent thought?  Is this really what you and we wish for our children and their children? God Forbid! I would rather they grow up with the chance to be anything they desire. I would wish them the success that all should be free to attain.

So, who will take up the burden? Who will lead and who will follow? Do we Texicans no longer have the will and honor to lead? I wonder… and I fear.

Upon this missive rests the likelihood of others. I feel the need to address the nullification issue. And I should like to point out how I see it as a deterrent to the various usurpations cast upon us. Perhaps I shall offer my thoughts in a future letter. It all depends.

American by Birth, Texan by the Grace of God.

An Old Texican

It’s been a bad six months for the Democratic Party, Americans have been largely losing trust in them according to Rasmussen’s recent poll of likely voters. Republicans are now trusted more on nine of the voters' ten top issues according to the Rasmussen Report released Friday, July 2nd. The biggest advantage for the G.O.P. comes on National Security where they own a 17% edge. The Democrats for the fifth month in a row are seen as slightly more ethical (2% edge).

Issue Trust Dems more Trust GOP more

Economy 39% 48%

Gov’t Ethics 33% 29%

Immigration 32% 47%

National Security 34% 51%

Abortion 36% 46%

Taxes 36% 52%

Social Security 37% 48%

Health Care 40% 51%

Education 41% 43%

Iraq 36% 45%

Meanwhile, 40% of likely voters call the Obama administration LESS ethical than most past administrations; 31% believe the current administration is MORE ethical than past administrations; and 26% say they’re ABOUT the SAME ethically as past administrations were. This marks a decided loss of trust for the Obama adminstration in the last year when 54% rated the president’s and his people as more ethical.

As far as Obama, personally, 39% say he is LESS ethical than most past presidents; 28% say he is MORE ethical; and 28% are not sure. Since ethics is the only area in which Democrats have earned more trust than Republicans over the last two months of Rasmussen Reports, the broader base of Democratic officials are not being hurt by the President on this issue.
