Trump made the comments during a cabinet meeting Wednesday. The Trump administration has been critical of California’s “bad environmental laws,” blaming them for exacerbating wildfires. “I say to the governor, or whoever is going to be the governor of California, you better get your act together,” Trump said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “We’re just not going to continue to pay the kind of money we’re paying because of fires that should never be to the extent.” “It’s a disgraceful thing. Old trees are sitting there, rotting and dry. And instead of cleaning it up, they don’t touch them,” Trump continued. “I think California ought to get their act together and clean up their forests and manage their forests.”....

{westernjournal.com} ~ Minnesota dummycrats-Democratic Rep. scumbag-Keith Ellison has been facing his own #MeToo movement allegation of domestic abuse and misconduct... and though most of the liberal media and dummycrats-Democratic Party have studiously avoided addressing the allegations against him, a court ruling may negate the efforts to protect his career and reputation. scumbag-Ellison, who serves as the deputy chair of the dummycrats-Democratic National Committee and is running to be attorney general in Minnesota, has been accused of engaging in physically and verbally abusive behavior toward an ex-girlfriend named Karen Monahan. Monahan has asserted that, among other incidents, scumbag-Ellison once dragged her off a bed by her feet during an argument. She has claimed that the incident was caught on cell phone video, but has yet to release any video for the public to see, aside from her own family members. Incredibly, despite near-constant admonishments from the left that all women accusers “must be believed” when they make accusations against powerful men — as was clearly seen during the debacle that was the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh — the left has largely overlooked the allegations against scumbag-Ellison or dismissed the accusations from Monahan as not credible. But all of that could change this week, as Fox News reported that an appeals court judge in Minnesota just ruled against a joint effort by scumbag-Ellison and his ex-wife of 25 years, Kim scumbag-Ellison, to delay the public release of their divorce records until they’d had a chance to go through them and redact any sensitive or “confidential information.” The release of those divorce records had been requested jointly by the liberal-leaning Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper and a conservative media outlet known as Alpha News, both of which argued that the divorce records were a matter of public interest given the fact that scumbag-Ellison was running to be the state’s top law enforcement official while he had allegations of criminal behavior lodged against him....

{jpost.com} ~ Housing Minister and former IDF Southern Commander Yoav Gallant hinted on Thursday that Israel will carry out a stronger response... against Hamas in the Gaza strip. "I do not refer to the content of the cabinet discussions, but I can say one thing very explicitly - The game is about to change. We will no longer accept the fire terror," Gallant said. According to the Israeli news sources, the implementation of how Israel will deal with the demonstrations by the Gaza Strip fence will begin on Friday. The security cabinet met in the early hours of Thursday morning in Jerusalem to discuss the latest developments in the south after a rocket hit and damaged a residential home in Beersheba. Hamas denied responsibility for the attack, but IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Ronen Manelis stated that "Only Hamas and Islamic Jihad have these type of rockets." Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Herzl Halevy said that "Hamas claims to control the Gaza Strip and tells Gazans that it is trying to improve their situation. In truth, the lack of restraint at the fence, the launching of explosive devices, incendiary balloons and rockets, are making the situation for Gaza residents worse."....
Deficit Soars Even as Income Tax Revenue Hits Record Highby Thomas Gallatin: We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: The U.S. government has a massive problem with overspending. The numbers are in for the 2018 fiscal year, and the government overspent its revenue by a whopping $779 billion. Recall that last year the deficit came in at $666 billion and the estimates for next year look likely to surpass this year’s. The 2018 deficit is the highest since the heady days of “Hope ‘n’ Change” in 2012, when it topped out at over $1 trillion. Even as record individual income tax revenue has been collected this year, the overall tax revenue filling government coffers has remained essentially flat. The reason is that while the Republican tax cuts on corporations have effectively ignited a stagnate economy, they have yet to cause enough growth to offset revenue lost to the lower tax rate. That said, even under the previous higher corporate tax rate, the net revenue would only amount to $70 billion more, still leaving a deficit of over $700 billion.
So, irrespective of what dummycrats-Democrats may claim, the real problem is not the Republican tax cut; it’s soaring spending. And the fact of the matter is that dummycrats-Democrats would be even worse on spending with their calls for Medicare for All, free college, and whatever other income-redistributing entitlement they can concoct.
This year’s deficit increase has been primarily due to a couple of factors. First, there was a 6% increase in military spending, per President Donald Trump’s promise to build up a military that Barack scumbag/liar-nObama decimated. That increase came, as Trump noted, with concessions in other areas for dummycrats-Democrat spending priorities. Second, and far more critical, was a 4% increase in Social Security spending due to the increasing number of retiring Baby Boomers. Social Security currently accounts for 23% of the entire budget. Add Medicare and Medicaid and we’re talking 46% of the budget. So that 4% increase matters a lot.
Did we mention that Social Security and Medicare face a cash deficit of $82 trillion over the next 30 years? Worse, neither party will touch it.
Acknowledging the deficit problem, the administration is also encouraging patience. Kevin Hassett, chairman of the White House’s Council of Economic Advisors, states, “The deficit is absolutely higher than anyone would like. [However], as you watch our next budget come out — and you’ll start to see things in the next few weeks — then you’ll see a much more aggressive stance” in tackling spending.
Trump has never been an ideological fiscal hawk, yet due to his business instincts he has been impressive in his efforts to cut waste in Washington via deregulation. He addressed the issue Wednesday, declaring, “I have a Cabinet meeting in a little while and we are going to ask every secretary to cut 5% for next year.” That said, Republicans need to get serious about cutting spending — specifically the entitlement state, which is the true driver of our debt. Ignoring this growing problem will only prove to be disastrous in the long run.
