A call to prayerBy Neil BrianGoldberg
It is another day in the Big Apple. Traffic is moderate to heavy — anormal weekday. Taxis are scurrying to drop off and pick up new fares.Buses are lumbering through the crowded streets making their usualstops.
Central Park is sporting its newest colors of the season, and it isstill fair weather. The ducks are swimming in the big pond, the nanniesand kids are enjoying the grass, the joggers are running by, and theold bag lady is feeding the pigeons.
The subways are rumbling, the drunks are stumbling, the guys with thesqueegees and water cans are making out well wherever the red lightallows, as they squirt and wash the windshields hoping for a few coins. The horse-drawn carriages, the museums, the million different stylesand fashions, sounds, smells, and musicians begging on the streets withtheir music — some of it is great.
What a city is New York, the greatest city in the world — nowhere likeit. And somehow, with all of the changing faces, races, skyscapes, andplaces, it still remains basically the same.
. . . until the appointed hour, when a completely new sound fills theair — loud and piercing — no, not of many sirens. They, too, are anormal part of the greatest city.
No, this is something different. This is something which does not justirritate the ears as a loud siren or squealing of brakes. This is anassault — an insult — something which not only pierces the ears, but theheart and the inner spirit of freedom and national identity itself.
It is the call to prayer, wafting over the gaping reminder of America'sgreat and tragic loss of the Battle of 9/11 — reminding us that, forsome reason, this festering wound, this source of pain and shame andfrustration, still remains before us, untended in our minds and ourhearts.
. . . and now, the same government which failed to take heed of the manywarnings which could have stopped the attacks; the government thatrefuses to rebuild as a showing of great fortitude and non-acceptance ofdefeat — this same invisible hand has now made arrangements for thisterrifying sound — this loud, piercing, heart-rending, and INFURIATINGsound — to blare, to scream, to so loudly proclaim far and wide:
"WE HAVE BEATEN YOU, AMERICA. WE NOW RUB YOUR NOSE IN OUR GREATVICTORY, AMERICA."
RIGHT HERE, AMERICA, AT THE PLACE WHERE WE HAVE DEFEATED YOU, WE NOWASSERT OUR DOMINANCE. WE KNOW YOU DON'T LIKE IT. WE KNOW IT MAKES YOUANGRY AND FRUSTRATED, BUT WE ARE ISLAM, AND WE ARE HERE — RIGHT AT THEPOINT OF ATTACK, RIGHT AT THE PLACE WHERE ISLAM WAS VICTORIOUS, ANDWHERE AMERICA WAS DEFEATED. COME TO PRAYER. PRAISE TO ALLAH, six timesper day, seven days per week, fifty-two weeks per year."
". . . and now, six times a day, we will assert our rights, according toyour own Constitution — here on the site of 9/11! — to freely practiceour religion, to freely speak our minds, and to freely protest and takepart in all of your liberties, until the day when we finally succeed inseducing your nation, as we have so many others to the tipping pointwhen we will have succeeded little by little to institute our own ShariaLaw — which then, of course, will have not a speck of tolerance for anyof these freedoms that we have used to capture and enslave you."
I don't think so, Mohammed.
With no disrespect for the Muslim people now in America, and for thosewho see no reason why anyone should be against the building of a newmosque, still the basic unarguable question remains, why at Ground Zero .. . and why at this time?
My completely rational and absolutely accurate assertion remains — that amosque at Ground Zero is an act of psychological warfare, andintentionally so.
Am I complaining about mosques in other areas? No. (Though some may beseditious and should be watched.) Am I accusing all Muslims of beingenemies? No. (Though some trained marauders are here to do harm andshould be watched.)
Let's peek just a little into the future. A huge and glorious mosque isto be built at Ground Zero, and . . . as is the custom, what is it?Six times a day? The amplified "Call to Prayer" is sent out in everydirection, loud and clear. It will be a simple, usual prayer of callingthe faithful, but the true translation and message would be:
"The Grand Mosque of Islam is here, and your great skyscrapers are gone.Praise to Allah. Victory to Islam!"
. . . and, let's look even a bit further into the possible future, whenan impostor, a Trojan Horse man, posing as a legitimate president andloyal American, describes in this grand mosque his conversion to Islam, with the huge speakers outside delivering the message. "America hasfallen to Islam (not in so many words of course) and Sharia Law iscoming."
Building such a mosque, exactly at Ground Zero, at this time remains inmy mind a purposeful act of not only psychological warfare, but ofspiritual and metaphysical warfare as well. And again I say, with noreservations whatsoever, intentionally so! . . . the forerunnerof a much larger danger, signifying the beginning of the end of all thatAmerica is meant to be.
This proposal, this unfolding plan, and every move involved in bringingit about is, in my mind, a planned and purposeful act of subtle, yetpotent war on the freedom of the American people — beginning with thetaking away of our freedom to feel peace and safety in our own greatestcity, the freedom not to be psychologically hounded and terrorized byenemies whom we know we can defeat, but who have already defeated theweaklings inside our own government.
Some very intelligent people will disagree. Many will be young people, full of passion for their beliefs — so very sure of their astuteconclusions based on their mental prowess and precise logic, believingthey are sincere and only standing for reason and justice, but what suchyouth does not yet have is considerable life experience, the experiencethat only time and struggle can bestow.
One must not bow to ideas and demands for justice, freedom, and equalityput forward by those who declare themselves our enemies — those whonever allow any of these blessings of liberty, once they have used themto seduce and then enslave sincere, good-hearted people like those ofAmerica.
Some call these Jihadists (by their own definition) "Freedom Fighters,"but there is no freedom anywhere where they have worked their way in andnow rule.
I remain and will remain absolutely opposed to this giant mosque — andall that will come with it — ever being built over the gaping atrocityof the 9/11 crater.
. . . and now back to the title of this article —
A CALL TO PRAYER — for America:
Almighty, wonderful God, we come to you now in our hour of need. Wethank you, Lord, for the wonderful country you gave us. We thank youfor the freedoms, the abundance, and the security we have enjoyed for solong under your kind grace.
And we apologize, Heavenly Father, for our neglect, and for the manysins done in your sight. We are sorry that we have gone so far astrayfrom your ways, and now we see the fruits of our disrespect: ourgluttony, our addictions, our neglect of our responsibilities to family,to friends, and to our precious freedoms.
Now we find ourselves reaping the harvest of loss, confusion, turmoil, and even poverty, which we ourselves have sown by our own actions andour own neglect. Even those of us who knew better have lost our angryvoice of moral outrage — allowing all of these destructive things tooccur, and caring more about our own well-being and security than thetruth, and the unavoidable consequences it demands — even aside fromreligious convictions, we should have known better on the simple levelof cause and effect, the immutable laws of nature, which you yourself,Lord, have set in motion since the beginning of the world.
. . . but we also know that only you, dear Holy One, are beyond theselaws of nature, and that your mighty power, and your perfect love, areeternal and ever new.
We The People of these United States do now come to you, mighty andwonderful Lord, on our knees and in great humility — begging you for ourcountry back. Begging you, oh Heavenly Father, to forgive, and torestore your America back to its destined place in the world: as thebeacon of freedom, goodness, justice, abundance, and awesome power — allfor your purposes only.
We call out to you, Lord, to keep your promise to hear this call fromyour abode in the heavens, and that you will take pity on your lostchildren here in America and "Heal our land." Drive out the corruptionin these coming elections, break the spine of the atrocious evils nowtaking root in our land.
Destroy and root out child pornography, and all other pornography, humanslavery, the murders of untold numbers of your divine little ones, andprevent and break the power of those purposely fomenting racial strifeand hatred — pitting your children one against the other, here in theland of the free. Help us to change as a people, and to increasinglyremember you.
We thank you and praise you in advance, our precious and awesome God,who still loves America, and waits only for us to return to you.
How great thou art — our King, our Savior — our mighty God. Amen.
