Howdy all!  I am still kicking!  Although don’t tell my knees.  The arthritis will retaliate!

Any hoo,…

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. ~ Philippians 1:6

Happily for America, happily, we trust, for the whole human race, they pursued a new and more noble course. They accomplished a revolution which has no parallel in the annals of human society. They reared the fabrics of governments which have no model on the face of the globe. ~ James Madison, Federalist No. 14, 1787

Well, first let me say Happy Mother’s Day to you all!  I know I have been blessed not only with a wonderful mom, but I am married to another wonderful mom.  We should all be as lucky!

So, why such a long time since the last encouraging word?  Well, I had been writing, almost every day for over 2 years.  Through these messages I have made some wonderful friends, and have been told I have made a difference.  But I wasn’t sure about that.  Not that I do not believe those who said so.  In fact I was humbled and grateful to hear how much people liked what I said.  I still like it!  But, something else was happening.  Events happening around the nation and the world concerned me more than before; and the events of before were very concerning to me!  So, I re-evaluated what I needed to do.  I could continue to write, but my audience has the same thoughts and beliefs that I do.  I could broaden the base, but I was posting in over a dozen sites already.  Even posted in a left leaning one until they took my message posting abilities away!  But was I making a difference?  In my heart, not enough.  So I decided to enter my name as a candidate for Precinct Committee Officer; a small but very important part of the local county party.  And as luck would have it, I won!  Vote count was 1-0 (ran unopposed).  During my first official meeting I realized there is work to do.  Conservative minded people are not the most popular in any political circle for the most part.  So, I tried to find others who might think like me.  And I found a lot more than I expected.  They too, felt that more was needed to be done.  I mean, the 2010 election was fantastic, but the 2012 was terrible.  And the reasons for that failure are still being spread across a wide spectrum, on all places except those entities truly responsible.  Even our county caucus was a mess.  My county received some national (but thankfully short lived) attention for closing the doors on about 1500 truly inspired citizens wanting to take part, wanting to make a difference themselves.  But they were not let in.  Call it bad planning or whatever.  So, I am now a PCO.  Was that enough?  No.  I didn’t want to sit in the chair and just nod my lemming head when the ‘long time’ and ‘experienced’ members spoke as if they and only they know what we had to do.  So I speak up.  I agree, or I disagree.  But I say so.  One thing I do know now is that the executive board members all know me by my first name.  I also joined another political caucus group, looking to bring conservative sanity into the county.  And this group is national and is to be officially recognized when the local caucus is chartered (which we now are!)  I have submitted my name as a volunteer to be in the county party bylaws committee; should find out soon.  I even submitted a change which might actually help bring over a dozen disgruntled PCO’s back to meetings.

What am I doing?  I am pursuing a more noble course.  So much has been accomplished by tea party people, 9/12 groups and conservative activities all across the nation.  We need to do more, while continuing our present efforts.  So, I am challenging myself to make a difference.   Right now it is local.  Will it ever go further, time will tell.  But I know I will be successful.  I know because I have already been successful.  And I am certain that I will continue to be successful because God, who began the good work within me, will continue his work he will have me do until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Take care, God bless,

And stand with Israel

Howdy all!  Well, I am back, or am I still here, or what is it?  I don’t really know, but I want to share with you again.

So,…

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:6-7

In the first place, it is to be remembered, that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws. Its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects, which concern all the members of the republic, but which are not to be attained by the separate provisions of any. ~ James Madison, Federalist Paper XIV, 1787

It has been a while, and so much has gone on, personally and politically.  So, may I share?  Life sure has its way of focusing on what is important.  My Dad has not been well.  He turned 82 in February, in the hospital.  I called him to say hi, and he asked me to come to NY.  He never asks.  So, Terri helped find the funds and I went, taking my son who is back home a year after leaving the Army.  By the time we got to NY, Dad was out of the hospital and excited about our visit.  I realized that we would have a rare moment.  There were 3 generations of Tom Kiley’s, all veterans at dinner; Air Force in Korea, Navy in the Cold War, Army in Afghanistan.  My Dad hasn’t been that happy in ages.  That was so good for my soul as well.

Now politically.  So much is going on.  How can we keep up with it all?  Answer – you can’t.  It isn’t possible.  And that is by design.  You know, the old Cloward and Piven overloading the system.  Well, it seems there is one way; local activity.  Here’s an example.  In my legislative district we have 2 state representatives that are both republican; one who is really good, and one who has self-proclaimed to be a social moderate.  She has been more liberal in the recent past, being the sponsor for WA state’s gay marriage law, and for a law to control air quality that would cause mandatory destruction of woodstoves in homes – all based on just one complaint.  Well, she was recently a sponsor of WA state house bill HB1588.  This bill was the mandatory background checks for private gun sales bill.  Well, a number of her constituents started to write, and call, and communicate with each other.  As a PCO, I sent her a letter reminding her that her job as our rep is to speak our voice, not hers.  After lots of calls, and letters from many people in the 16th and other LD’s, she actually changed her mind.  She realized that this would not ‘close a loophole’ in background checks at gun shows.  It would only impose more control over those who already follow the laws.  The bad sorts would not care at all.  And, she realized that this bill would greatly infringe on our 2nd amendment rights.  Not only did she change her mind, but she stood strong with her stance against this bill, even with pressure from national figures such as Gabby Giffords!  Bottom line – local efforts worked.  The bill never made it out of the House in Olympia.  It didn’t have the support to pass.  And our rep’s position had a lot to do with that.  But our work isn’t done.  As Madison said, government’s jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects.  Overstepping these limits does nothing for the people and is usually unconstitutional.  All it does is strengthen what choke hold we allow our federally (and statewide) elected employees to have over us.  We are experiencing dramatic overstepping of the government’s jurisdiction, and we cannot stop it all at once.  But, we can change things one by one.  Effort by effort.  We have proved it in the fighting 16th!  And I for one look forward to doing it again.  And remember to pray.  As I said we cannot fix it all, and we cannot fix it at once.  Pray for God’s wisdom, and do what is right.  The peace you receive will be well worth it.  I sensed it after seeing my Dad, and again after seeing the background check bill wither away.

One other prayer I know of may help.  This prayer has helped me throughout my life;

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Take care, God bless,

And stand with Israel

Howdy all!  I am almost ashamed that I haven’t written to you all in over a month.  BAAD Tommy, BAAAAADD!

So,…

Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses. ~ Proverbs 10:12

Another not unimportant consideration is, that the powers of the general government will be, and indeed must be, principally employed upon external objects, such as war, peace, negotiations with foreign powers, and foreign commerce. In its internal operations it can touch but few objects, except to introduce regulations beneficial to the commerce, intercourse, and other relations, between the states, and to lay taxes for the common good. The powers of the states, on the other hand, extend to all objects, which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, and liberties, and property of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the state. ~ Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833

I tell ya, you gotta read more on Joseph Story.  He has so much to say, so close to the issues we are facing, and all said almost 200 years ago.  Guess it’s all as true now as it was then.  Here, he plainly states that the federal government is the instrument that carries out the will, and direction of the people.  They are to have little to do with governing over the people.  Instead, they are to deal with outside entities/governments, set international policies that benefit the people.  It is up to the states to deal with everything within the state.  In essence, it is the states that must serve to protect the lives liberties and happiness of the people.  And it is the federal government that must ensure the freedoms of the states to do so.

Unfortunately, the federally elected employees have decided to revolt against the people with all these ridiculous regulations and instruments of control.  Ironic isn’t it?  They say that the people are revolting against the government, when it is the feds that have been revolting since FDR, or even Wilson.

So, what to do?  Well, revolting is still not the answer.  No really, it’s not.  Preparing for any potential is wise and prudent.  But leading a charge up a futile hill is not the best course, (although I have to say, “YET”).  Instead, there are still avenues to proceed down.  For instance, one of the state legislators for my district, a republican who claimed in my presence she was a fiscal conservative, but a social moderate – RINO – has co-sponsored a bill in WA to require universal background checks for all firearm sales.  Imagine that?  If a private person wants to sell a gun to another private person, the seller must conduct a background check on the buyer.  And, while speaking to a seller at a gun show today, he told me the few people covering all the background checks for the state are already overwhelmed by the request for background checks numbering in the tens of thousands (that’s a number greater than 1 followed by four zeroes). And now they want to increase that number by 50, 60, 90 percent??  Well, at least this is the state trying to do it instead of the feds, but there needs to be an understanding first.  Representatives represent.  They don’t lord.  Also, why would I want to give my personal identification info to someone I don’t know well?  How do I know they aren’t going to steal my identity?  Well, I don’t have to be angry, or unreasonable.  I have a nice recourse in WA State.  RECALL.  Nice word isn’t it?  All I need is a little over 17000 people to agree.  And I know there are a lot more than 17000 gun owners in our district.  And being a precinct committee officer in my voting precinct, I can get the voice of the entire county GOP in tune.  No hatred, no quarrels, no malice.  Just action which is the right thing to do.

An example of action without malice.  You don’t need anger or hatred.  You just need to stand for your rights and the rights of others.

And a final silly thought.  If this does pass in our state, and afterwards the state has a gun buyback event, I would love to demand the information from the cops to conduct a background check on them.  They can get my gun in 7-10 days afterwards, as long as the background check is clear.

Take care, God bless,

And stand with Israel

Howdy all!  I MISS YOU!!  I’ve been so busy, and at times lazy, true.  The last time I wrote to you was December 2.  Well, I am still the guy who you might remember.  At least I think I am.  Probably am.  I guess I should do this more to help me remember something.  Any guesses what that is?  Well, if I go too long please forgive me.

Any hoo,..

Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! ~ Psalm 14:1

[T]he people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full possession of them. ~ Zacharia Johnson, speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention, 1788

Today is the end of a very hectic year; highs, lows, successes and tragedies.  Sometimes I read a news article that pops up on my screen and I just want to cry, or shout out loud.  Sometimes I jump for joy, and yes, sometimes I yell out “it’s about darn time they got what’s coming!”  But none of it helps.  Because it’s just me saying.  So, what really matters?  To me, I can say family, friends, fiscal freedom, etc.  But it truly lies in three things.  Sorry I wasn’t going to say God, Family and Friends.  Well they are part of it, but they are captured in these three things – Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  Sound familiar?  Remember these three things?  Those who said the words first were willing to give of their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.  They were willing to give everything for us.  Yes, us.  We are their legacy.  We are their descendants.  Because of them, we are Americans.  We have the life of free men and women.  We have the ability to strive for our own successes, AND failures.  And above all, we are Americans; US citizens.

These things also carry a great burden.  We must ensure that what the founders gave us is preserved for those who are to be our American descendants.  The most important part of our preservation comes in the manner we have for protection - the second amendment.  To take away the Constitution, the way of life we have and to transform it into something else, the right to bear arms must be ended.  This is an historical fact, proven time and time again.  So, what is the argument against guns?  They can cause serious bodily harm, and even death.  But do they do it themselves?  Obviously not, guns don’t go off on their own.  Even if there is a discharge from a weapon too close to heat, a person put it there to allow it to self-discharge.  The founders knew from their own personal experiences, and their pledge in the Declaration of Independence that they needed to protect what was to be preserved.  We need to protect what is to be preserved.  Not only the nation, but our lives our fortunes and our sacred honor need to be preserved, and therefore protected.

Horror is horrible.  Loss of life is horrible, especially when innocent children are lost.  Worse, the innocent children who witnessed the loss of their friends will have to suffer the visual memory.  It is horrible, and something needs to change.  But what to change?  Guns?  Assault weapons?  Hmm, ok, why guns?  Is there anyone out there who truly believes that if a ban or restriction on any type of gun is set in motion, that the evil people who wish to do horror will obey it?  What is the definition of an assault weapon?  Does anyone know?  I have what I believe is the closest to correct.  An assault weapon is that weapon which is used to assault.  And what is the definition of assault?  It is the threat of violence towards another.  So, an assault weapon is that weapon of any type that is used to threaten another with violence.  Can a gun be used for that horror?  Sure.  Would it be any less horrible if the same people are killed with a knife?  How about a high speed car?  Sarin gas?  Timothy McVeigh used fertilizer and diesel.  Jeffrey Dahmer ate his victims.  Cain had no gun when he killed Abel.  9/11/01 was not perpetrated by guns.  These were evil people.  EVIL PEOPLE.  And what about those innocents killed in a school in China, by a person with a knife?  Do we do what has been proposed in England?  Ban all long, sharp pointed kitchen knives?  Even today, New Year’s Eve, we hear of someone who potentially wanted to kill, and without a gun!  A pregnant 27 year old woman, and her 31 year old boyfriend were arrested in NYC with explosive materials and papers titled “The Terrorist Encyclopedia”.  And the guy is a Harvard graduate and an OWS idiot!  Guns?  GUNS??  Should we also get rid of knives?  Let’s also get rid of Harvard Graduates.

Emotions will always run very high when a tragedy occurs.  It is then, that knee jerk reaction becomes the ‘fix’.  They never work as intended.  They are Band-Aids on a broken arm.

I don’t want to pontificate, (even if I am a little).  There is a reason why these things are happening.  It is not the presence of guns.  These people who commit horror needs to be stopped.  And they need to be stopped BEFORE THEY ACT.  The focus must be on the people who would act.  If you focus on the guns, these people of horror will watch the guns be turned in while they get a knife, a car, some diesel and fertilizer, or whatever they can get their hands on –LEGALLY OR NOT- to commit their horror.  Don’t buy the headlight when the transmission is broken.  We need to protect what we wish to preserve.  And we need to stem the horror.  But we don’t need to make these mutually exclusive.

Take care, God bless and especially, ESPECIALLY at this time in history,

STAND WITH ISRAEL!!!

Howdy all!  Yes, I am still around.  I am looking around for a folks who have a vision-path for the next few years.  I am tired of stagnation.  I know that the conservative, constitutionalist, tea party folks, 9/12ers and others are tired of watching the ship go down, and the deck hands (Congress) pointing blame at each other instead of fixing the leaks.  It is time for the patrons on the sinking ship to save the ship.

And to that end,…

Do to others as you would like them to do to you.  ~ Luke 6:31

Love your neighbor as yourself and your country more than yourself." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Thomas Jefferson Smith, 1825

I couldn’t say it any better.  Now, it’s time to pass this message to our federally elected employees.  Tell them to fix this mess that THEY made, or step aside.  The sooner, the better.

Take care, God bless and especially, ESPECIALLY at this time in history,

Howdy all!  I am finally out of the fog of Percocet!  Knee is almost back to original size, and I am able to walk again.  I did ask the nurse if I would be able to play the violin afterwards.  She asked if I could play already, which I responded “yes, but it’s been decades.”  So true to form, as any good nurse would be, she came right back with “Well I guess you’ll have to practice a lot, won’t you?”

Any hoo (said with a big Jack Benny sigh)

Don't love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, I will never fail you. I will never abandon you. ~ Hebrews 13:5

I missed talking to my family on Thanksgiving Day, since they were all out at other family member’s houses for the big meal.  I did get them today.  My sister told me about the damages caused by Hurricane Sandy (they live on Long Island NY).  I grew up on the last bit of natural land south of Merrick Rd.  So the potential of damage was real to me.  But when I finally heard, my heart sank.  The house is about 1.5 to 2 miles from the water leading up from the ocean through a series of natural and man-made canals.  The water line during Sandy made it up to only 3 houses to their south, and the street was flooded another mile to the north.  Yet, the only damage to the house was 3 small puddles in the basement.  Outside, the water came to the front stoop, but no further.  My Mom was out, as were most of the folks living there.  But my sister was with my dad, who is 81 and suffers from a myriad of troubles.  They had to watch everything in real time.  But the house survived.  That basement, which is always flooded during even the simplest of rain storms, only had three small puddles.  My brother-in-law’s parent’s house didn’t do so good.  The sheet rock from the floor up 2 feet had to be ripped off and replaced.  They live on slab foundation, in the man-made part of the neighborhood.  The only thing left on the first floor was the HDTV, mounted to the wall above the water line.  My sister, then my Mom rattled off name after family name that I remember as a kid; all losing most if not all of their homes.  My family, 3 puddles, oh yeah, Dad’s computer, which he believes fried upon return of the power.  The town I grew up in will never be the same.  The fantastic beaches of Jones Beach State Park destroyed.  The bath houses, the restaurants, the boardwalks, the miles of the whitest sand you could find anywhere in the world are all gone.  The high way along the beach area washed out.  Fire Island is now 2 islands.  Some of the beach communities are still closed off.  The damage hasn’t been estimated yet, except for the silly numbers mentioned in the news.  But no estimate will ever compare to the damages to memories.  All this saddens me, for the neighborhood I grew up in, the parks and beaches I played in throughout my childhood are no longer there.  But, my family survived.  Their friends survived.  My brother-in-law, who works for a company that installs heating systems, comes home late every night with a happy chant, “Another woman has heat tonight!”  I am blessed that my family has each other.  They have friends who are still their friends, even with the loss of their homes.  It reminds me of when my wife, pregnant at the time, pushed away a dog jumping to her wastes, when her wedding band and engagement rings flew into the autumn brush and leaves.  She cried as she told me what happened; only to get mad when I told her it was just ‘stuff’ and we are still married.  (Boy, did she get MAD!)

God did not fail us then.  I found the rings.  God did not fail my family.  They survived, with all the devastation around them.  It doesn’t matter how much loss of property that was had, only the blessing of friends that are still friends.  The value of what is left, or lost does not matter.  What matters is that Survival was successful.  Memories are still memories, regardless if the places where they were made are there or not.  Forget the value of what was lost.  Be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.

That was the best phone call to home I’ve had in a long time!

11/19/12Howdy all! If I may I will apologize up front if anything I say here is difficult to comprehend. I am still coming out of the anesthesia from earlier today, when I had arthroscopic surgery to remove some of the meniscus from my left knee which had been going rogue for some time now. So, if I go into discussions of flights to the moon or if I can’t wait to see the face of our nation when the NEXT millennium arrives, you know what to do.Anywhere, er I mean hoo,..Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. ~ Ephesians 4:29I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country. ~ Nathan Hale, before being hanged by the British, 1776OK, this quote from Nathan Hale may be one of the few that is still taught in public school. But like most other teachings of our founders, not much else is taught. So, here’s a little about this patriot. He was born in Connecticut in 1755. At the ripe old age of 14 (yes, fourteen) he attended Yale, graduating with honors at 18. He joined a literary fraternity called Linonia, where he debated issues like astronomy, mathematics and the ethics of slavery. He joined the military in 1755. His unit went to Boston, although he did not, since his teaching contract in New London had not yet expired. Twenty? He then joined the 7th Connecticut Regiment, and was with General Washington trying to thwart the British who were moving to capture New York City. Nathan was the only volunteer to go behind lines on Long Island to report on troop movements. But he was captured, after being pointed out by a loyalist cousin. After interrogation he was hanged at the present day corners of 66th and 3rd in Manhattan, where he uttered the famous quote. It’s also reported that one of the hangmen was a former slave turned loyalist, who was 13 (thirteen) at the time of the hanging.“Why all of this history?” you might ask. Simple. We have so much to do, now that we have lost some of the momentum gained 2 years ago. I might add that the momentum was not lost due to the efforts of all the tea party, conservative, freedom loving patriots who have been, and will continue to strive for the restoration of our Constitution, economy and regain the control over the governance granted, that “We the People” have vested in the Congress and President. But, we are not only trying to save this nation for us. Our children, their children, and so on need our help. More importantly, they need us to show them how to do what we are doing. We need to get them involved. It is their future we fight for. But they cannot just stand to the wayside and watch. They must get involved. That’s why there is always so much effort by the left to get them involved. And the left had been successful in convincing the youth that the conservative movement is so restrictive that, they won’t get anything they want from the conservatives. Me, me, me. So we must instead speak of the benefits that await them in the future; what a free nation means to the world, and to them. To be successful we need to look to Ephesians 4:29 for guidance. “Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” The future belongs to our children. We must encourage them to get involve, so they can have the future they deserve.Take care, God bless and especially, ESPECIALLY at this time in history,STAND WITH ISRAEL!!!Tom KileyPS: There; I think I got through this alright. Good day.  What?  Not the “Howdy all!” cheerful greeting?  Not this day. There is so much to reflect on, so much to go over intellectually, morally and emotionally.  The question that is out there so dramatically is, “What now?”

What is on your mind?..

Be confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 1:6

We should never despair, our situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new exertions and proportion our efforts to the exigency of the times. ~ George Washington, letter to Philip Schuyler, 1777

OK.  “Howdy all!”  Is BACK!   That didn’t take too long I hope.  How many of us watched in anticipation, excitement, anxiousness, fear, anxiety, and finally some level of depression last night? (Me)  Who slept in late? (Me)  Who went out today and bought some firearm supplies? (Not yet)  Come now, you all have to admit there is something drastic you wanted to do after the final results were in.  So, go do it, (within limits that is).

What really happened last night?  Did we lose a lot of elections?  No.  Wait, didn’t Romney lose?  Didn’t the senate maintain a democratic majority?  Sure, but we didn’t lose anything.  Not yet.  Yes, there is a fear that our Constitution will continue to suffer.  Our inalienable rights will be pounced on.  Our system of belief, our morality, and our sense of honor, courage and commitment were beat up.  But there were some election successes.  True, West lost in Florida, but Bachmann won in Minnesota.  Many states will soon allow same sex marriage and smoking pot (like the state I live in) but Montana and others said NO to forced healthcare requirements.  The results of last night’s elections may show that we had failures in our efforts.  But we have not failed.  We have not failed.  WE HAVE NOT FAILED!!!!!!!!!!  Sorry, I sometimes get loud when I get impassioned.  You are only a failure when you give up.

I believe the GOP management has some soul searching to do.  (Remember, they are in positions of management, not leadership.  They suck at being leaders.)  They need to see that their continued efforts of old are no longer working.  They must see that the paradigm shift is happening to them.  They are like the Swiss watch makers who scoffed at the idea brought to them by CASIO of a silly little digital watch.  Well, I have a beautiful Jules Jurgensen watch passed down from my grandfather, but I use digital clocks for everything.  I recognize the magic of the Grand Old Party as it used to be, as politics used to be.  But it isn’t that way anymore.  And it never will be.  The GOP must reflect on itself and change.  The conservatives must also reflect.  The big question that is out there, that HAS been out there is, do we stay with the GOP?  Do we part ways and start a new political party?  Do we join another party?  The strength of the GOP may never return, if it is to remain as lame as it is today.  They have to recognize that the ways of the Good Old Boys can never return as it was.  We too, must reflect on where we stand.  I know one thing for sure; I am an American.  I gave 22 years of my life to defend it.  I live to my oath even today, 13 years after ending my service.  I love my country.  I love the United States of America.  I will not see it go quietly into the night.  As for the effort to change/eliminate the Constitution, I will not support any effort to do so.  I will NOT comply.  You can take my taxes.  You can take my job.  You can take me to prison.  But, you can never take my freedom.  Paraphrasing another great American – you can take my freedom out of my cold dead hands.

Reflection by all is needed.  The pundits say that Obama must now look to work across the aisle to bring the nation back together.  I believe he, Reid, Pelosi and the rest will do no such thing.  They will force compromise on their terms.  That, my friends and fellow patriots, is no compromise.  That is capitulation.  The tea party movement is not dead.  We are back in Valley Forge, again.  It’s time to take a breath, get some rest, eat a big piece of chocolate cake, with a snifter full of good brandy.  When you’re done, get back to work.  Our country needs us more now than ever.  We ARE the refounders now; lots to do.

Remember this, my friends; we should never despair, our situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new exertions and proportion our efforts to the exigency of the times.  Be confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Howdy all!  It has been a long time coming but it’s finally here!

So,..

God saved you by his grace when you believed.  And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God.   ~ Ephesians 2:8

I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. ~ Thomas Paine, The Crisis, No. 1, 1776

So many of you out there have been so busy working to gain the respect of your neighbors, confidence of those you meet in the store, at the train station, in the airports, at work, everywhere.  You have walked door to door, called on the phone, networked on social media.  You have done a tremendous amount of work.  Why?  You have been enlightened.  You have been awakened.  You may have missed what was happening to our republic before but are now absolutely aware, and now you realize that you don’t want it to pass into the dark.

To all this I say well done!  There has been so much done by so many with relatively little means except a voice that has echoed through the ages.  As Mark Levin calls it, the Paul and Paulette Reveres.  Glenn Beck once spoke of the ‘refounders’; those who would be willing to step forward and revive the republic as the original founders had.  He said he had 9 committed.  I think that if asked now, he would say he had thousands if not millions.  They are you.  You all are the refounders of our nation.  I salute you for everything you have done.  So, what do we do now?

Monday.  You may have the energy to work just one more day.  If so, do it.  You may be ready for a break.  If so, spend that time in peaceful prayer.  Pray for what will happen Tuesday.  Pray for what will happen Wednesday.  Pray for what will happen up until Jan 20.  And pray for what will happen over the next four years.  We all have learned that even the best intended citizen-statesmen and women can be co-opted.  And there will be efforts to co-opt every single one.  Pray they can withstand the efforts against them.

Tuesday?  Watch.  Watch with every sense.  Watch with your eyes, with your ears, with your mind, with your soul.  Whatever happens at the polls, be not afraid.  Gather strength from distress.  Grow brave by reflection.  Those who may be present to intimidate or ‘observe’ are people of the business of little minds.  Keep your heart firm.  Keep your principles close to your heart.  And above all, believe in yourselves.  Believe that you are full of the strength God gave you.  Take credit for your work in this election season, but take no credit for its outcome.  That is God’s gift to us all.

Wednesday?  Rejoice!  I have already taken Wednesday off.  A good cup of tea, a biscuit, and a shot of the finest single malt scotch you can find.  And a good book.  You deserve it!

Take care, God bless and especially at this time in history,

Howdy all!  Well, we are at the final weekend of ads, bickering, and name calling.  Who would have thought that We the People would be inundated with such childish behavior from grown men.  And the women as well!  I know this election is more important than any other we have experienced in our life time.  But, reeeeealllly!!

So, let’s see what we can see,..

But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him. ~ Deuteronomy 4:29

All see, and most admire, the glare which hovers round the external trappings of elevated office. To me there is nothing in it, beyond the lustre which may be reflected from its connection with a power of promoting human felicity." --George Washington, letter to Catherine Macaulay Graham, 1790

We may never find the person that George describes.  Lord only knows we want that kind of person.  Can anyone running for President meet these criteria?  ABSOLUTELY!  They only have to follow George’s lead.  So, why can’t we find them?  Well, we only look at those who try to run.  300 million plus, and the stage is full with 9 people.  That’s 0.000003 percent of our population.  We only look at the small percentage of Americans who say they are willing to meet the expectations of We the People.  That means the best choice for us is not necessarily on the ballot.  So, we need to choose who ON the ballot is best.  Today’s verse from Deuteronomy may help here.  If you search for him with all your heart, you will find him.  The best for us all may not be on the ballot.  But those on the ballot have their own unique abilities which may be a great fit for the job.  And they could learn!  Wouldn’t that be a twist!

What to do; pray.  Pray in the manner of your beliefs.  Use Deuteronomy 4:29 as a guide.  You will be glad you did, and your choice will be the wisest you have ever made.  This goes equally for all of the choices you have to make.

Take care, God bless and especially at this time in history,

Howdy all!  Well, I have been enjoying the company of my son, out of the Army, out of harm’s way and back safe at home!  So much to talk about!!  But I have neglected my sharing with you.

So,..

The Lord will work out his plans for your life - for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me. ~ Psalm 138:8

It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions. ~ Thomas Jefferson, letter to Richard M. Johnson, 1808

This quote from Jefferson should be posted everywhere!  My goodness, it is so disheartening to see political signs trashed, cut, burned, defaced or just pulled up and thrown down.  I have no problem with a difference of opinions, but when did it become acceptable to vandalize anything?  I see ads about a particular point of view for a referendum, and another ad for the opposition.  That’s fine; that’s expected.  But when the difference gives cause to destroy, it makes no sense to me.  I mean does anyone really think that tearing up a sign for one side of an issue, or one particular candidate will convince me to side with them?  How idiotic is that??  I have a strong opinion about what I will and won’t vote for.  But that is MY choice.  If I don’t agree with a side, then I expect the respect for my position, just as the other side would expect my respecting theirs.

Example, in Washington State, there is a referendum to agree with a bill passed by the legislature over same sex marriage.  I believe in the one man-one woman definition, even though I have members of my extended family who have a same sex lifestyle.  I’ve worked with same-sex lifestyled people as well.  That is there choice, not mine.  But I do not agree with the lifestyle, nor will I support any bill which would promote its legitimacy.  That is MY choice.  I received a call from the position to support the referendum.  I did not treat the caller with any disrespect at all.  I listened to the position, and offered mine in return.  Of course they tried to offer a chance for me to understand what it meant for them to gain this status they desired.  And I responded with my opinion, and wished them well in their efforts, but I was going to vote against their position.  That to me is a fair exchange between two opposing sides.  I don’t agree with them, and they don’t agree with me.  But there was no nasty language, no threats at all.  It’s too bad that passionate people allow their passion for their position to stoop so low as to punish someone just because of a difference of opinion.  I pray that we can be Americans again, not just enemies against each other.  Political opponents do not have to be social opponents.

Instead, maybe we could all take heed of Psalm 138:8.  The plan for our lives is already known by Him.  We must let it play out as He has planned.  He won’t abandon us.  He will watch over us always, even though it may seem that He isn’t there at times.  Patience is a virtue that needs to be interjected into our society right now.  We all must share it with everyone, no matter which side, position or stance we have in any debate.  We are Americans.  We have differences of political opinions all the time.  But we have survived as a nation because of our patience, tolerance and understanding amongst ourselves.  It’s

Howdy all!  You know, there is no better job in the world than being a grandparent.  You get to watch your kids in action applying all the lessons you taught them as children, on their own.  You get to play like a little kid with no regret or embarrassment.  You get to hand off the dirty diaper with a hearty laugh.  But best of all, you get to see what you have been missing from when you were a young parent yourself; like a 19 month old cherub running around the house with a glow-in-the-dark Halloween bucket on her head.

Hmmm, nice.  Ok, back to the ….

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. ~ Psalm 103:2

I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power. ~ Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Charles Jarvis, 1820

I am always amazed when I find a new quote from a founder that I hadn’t previously heard.  This one from Jefferson for example should be directions given to every politician, elected or appointed.  In fact, it could be an affidavit they all must sign before swearing to the oath.  Imagine the progressives and RINO’s trying to live by this.  If the people do not understand their role as the owners of our nation, then the politicians must teach them how to own the nation, instead of taking it and lording over their constituents.  Some in government want this; they really do.  But something keeps getting in the way.  I wonder if the rookie government reps are taken into some room and brainwashed or something.  In reality, I don’t expect this would or could ever happen.  So many, with the best of intentions get caught up in the rush for the next election, even if it is 4 years away.

So, how can this Jefferson Affidavit be implemented?  “We the People”, that’s how.  We have to take the government back.  It isn’t a revolution to take control of our nation.  It is revolution when the federally elected employees try to keep it from us.  Neither the Congress nor the President can set aside the Constitution.  Only the citizens of the United States can do that.  No single politician can stay as long as they want.  Only the people can install the politicians, and the people can remove them.

In 18 days, we have the opportunity, and the responsibility to decide who we keep, and who we send home.  Our responsibility is to ourselves.  When it’s time to vote, we must vote.  Until then we must inform our friends and neighbors to register for voting.  We can stump for our favorite candidate, but getting the people to vote is a crucial necessity to maintaining that safe depository.

So, get out the vote on Nov 6.  And get out your neighbors to register.

This land is your land, this land is my land!

Howdy all!  Yes, I saw the debate.  I heard it, and I saw it.  I cannot think of the right thing, the fair thing, or the anything for that matter that would not seem contemptible towards the behavior and mannerisms of our Vice President.  To say that his performance was a total gaffe is an understatement.  But as I said, I cannot do the critique justice.  So, I will let the words from the Bible and George Washington speak instead.

If a wise person takes a fool to court, there will be ranting and ridicule but no satisfaction. ~ Proverbs 29:9

The voice of the LORD twists mighty oaks and strips the forests bare.  In his Temple everyone shouts, "Glory!" ~ Psalm 29:9

Differences in political opinion are as unavoidable as, to a certain point, they may perhaps be necessary; but it is to be regretted, exceedingly, that subjects cannot be discussed with temper on one hand, or decisions submitted to without having motives which led to them, improperly implicated on the other: and this regret borders on chagrin when we find that Men of abilities – zealous patriots – having the same general objects in view, and the same upright intentions to prosecute them, will not exercise more charity in deciding on the opinions and actions of one another. ~ George Washington, Letter to Alexander Hamilton, 1792

Howdy all!  Well, how many liars do we have in the audience?  If you listen to the folks to the left of center (and even a few on the right), you’d think the conservatives are pathological truth twisters.  Like Harry Reid, with his ‘source’ who knows absolutely that Romney paid no taxes, then when the truth came out, he complained that he paid too much.  Really?  So, it appears that a sitting leader in the Senate lied to the American people.  Whether it was the lack of taxes or the overabundance of taxes; one of those, if not both was a lie.

So, what can we get out of this,..

My child, listen and be wise: Keep your heart on the right course. ~ Proverbs 23:19

The foundations of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality, and the preeminence of free government be exemplified by all the attributes which can win the affections of its citizens, and command the respect of the world. ~ George Washington, First Inaugural Address, 1789

Harry, Barry, Nancy, MCCONNELL, BOEHNER, CANTOR AND MCCARTHY TOO!!  You should all be ashamed of yourselves for all the lies.  To learn the lesson, here are your reading assignments.  When you’re finished, discuss and learn the lesson that George knew, the lesson that was shared in Proverbs so very long ago.

For the rest of us, we need to watch these managers (remember, they are NOT true leaders) in everything they do.  If we are lucky, we will only have 2 to watch after 11/6.  Remember, the RINOs used the tea party to get their power, and are now co-opting our representatives.  They need to be put back in their place or sent home.

Howdy all!  And welcome to the October Surprise!  Did you see it Wednesday?  It was amazing.  It’s been a long time since it has happened.  But now we know the picture is clear.  It is still possible, even in these days, for someone to actually win baseball’s Triple Crown.  Congratulations to Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers.  He ended the baseball season in the lead for best batting average, most home runs and most runs batted in.  They say the horse racing Triple Crown is extremely rare.  Well the last Triple Crown winner (Secretariat) won it 6 years after Carl Yastrzemski won the MLB title.  So, which is more rare?

Well, there is so much more, but baseball rules!  Anyway,…

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. ~ James 1:12

They define a republic to be a government of laws, and not of men. ~ John Adams, Novanglus No. 7, 1775

Ok, a lot can be said about the debate.  In fact it has been said.  Therefore I will try not to duplicate it.  But there is something to think about.  Why did all the MSM pundits react as strongly as they did?  Do you think they were surprised by the strength of Romney’s performance?  Was it Obama’s weak performance?  I think neither.  I think it was the fact that their own cover up, the shroud of facts about the real Obama economy, and Obamacare were left naked on the stage.  Romney did fine.  But his speaking the truth in public about Obamacare, and the lies from the President about Mitt’s policies were displayed in all their glory.  So, the media was left with no protection from their own lies.  They had to admit Romney did well.  They had to admit that Obama did poorly.  That’s the only way they could hide their own guilt.  And most importantly, we finally had the moment the republic sorely needed.  The ‘rule of man’ concept was damaged, maybe irreparably.  The rule of Obama the Usurper has been dealt a terrible blow.  And the rule of law may be coming off of life support.  Remember, Article IV, Section 4 states that we are guaranteed a republican form of government; the only guarantee in the entire Constitution.  That guarantee received some TLC Wednesday night.  We have all waited so long for that life support.  We finally received the breath of fresh air needed to overcome the stench of the newspapers and TV journalists decaying in the corner with their lies.  And, Mr. Romney’s words of the Declaration of Independence and of the inalienable rights granted us from our ‘Creator’ were like the blessing from God mentioned in the verse of James 1:12.  Certainly, we have patiently endured the testing and temptation.  This blessing sure does feel good.  Thank you Lord!

Howdy all!  Do you remember this whopper of an excuse?  “No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!” A great movie and a great line, with some meaning today.

We’ll get to that,..

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. ~ Matthew 6:34

No people will tamely surrender their liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and virtue is preserved. On the contrary, when people are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their manners, they will sink under their own weight without the aid of foreign invaders. ~ Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, 1775

How many emails to you get that tout a bolstered campaign for this person or that person, with a poll that shows a lead in their race?  1? 5?  More than 4,000?  Me too.  Example, just today, I received 2 emails.  One was received at 10:34 saying “Romney is winning!!”  The other was received at 11:35 that stated “Romney is losing.”  So, what are we to believe?  Only one hour difference and Romney takes a dive bigger than the Dow.  What is the truth?  Well, let’s get some reality from another movie line.  First, if you hadn’t figured it out, the excuse above is from ‘The Blues Brothers’ when John Belushi tries to explain why he left his bride to be at the altar.  Now other Saturday Night Live alumni, Bill Murray, had the best line in response.  “IT JUST DOESN’T MATTER!  IT JUST DOESN’T MATTER!..”  And you’re saying, ‘huh?’

Here’s the thing; the polls out there are meant to convince you that the way of the world is going ‘this’ way, so FOLLOW.  But we have learned so much about the dangers of following these past four years.  We the People are the leaders.  Those who govern are supposed to be the followers; following OUR lead – our directions.  But they all just want to save their careers, so if they can convince us to ‘follow’,..  To that I say HA!  Can’t get me anymore.  I have eyes all wide open.  I will not tamely surrender my liberties, or be easily subdued.  I will not let myself become ignorant.  So therefore my ship will not sink.  And if I understand you all, your ship won’t either.  So take a tip from Matthew.  We have enough troubles to contend with today.  Don’t get caught up in the polls; the worries of tomorrow, or Nov 6.  We need to stay focused right now.  Forget the media.  They are only going to tell you what they want to tell you, not the truth.  40 days, is a very long and short time.  Just when you believe you have enough time, the time has already passed.  So, keep focused; don’t worry about tomorrow.  PLAN for tomorrow and execute your plans today.  We will not allow our liberties and freedom to be lamely surrendered.  This is our city on the hill.  It shines because of US, not our federally elected employees.

Take care, God bless and especially at this time in history,

Howdy all!  Yeah, I am still around.  Just so much to do.  I hope you are all doing what you can do to support the candidates that will be on your ballots, while telling those candidates you will be watching like a hawk.  You know, getting into the political discussion from the comfort of your den, or wherever your computer is, is lots of fun!

Any hoo,..

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. ~ Colossians 4:2

They are not to do anything they please to provide for the general welfare, but only to lay taxes for that purpose. To consider the latter phrase not as describing the purpose of the first, but as giving a distinct and independent power to do any act they please which may be good for the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless. It would reduce the whole instrument to a single phrase, that of instituting a Congress with power to do whatever would be for the good of the United States; and as they would be the sole judges of the good or evil, it would be also a power to do whatever evil they please...Certainly no such universal power was meant to be given them. It was intended to lace them up straightly within the enumerated powers and those without which, as means, these powers could not be carried into effect. ~ Thomas Jefferson, Opinion on a National Bank, 1791

Thomas’ words need no explanation.  The only things needed are envelopes, stamps and the addresses to Bernanke, Geithner, Obama, Reid, McConnell, Pelosi and Boehner.  All of these federally elected employees and the employees of our employees need to heed the words, or find new jobs.

What should we do? Follow the guidance from Colossians 4:2, then get out your vote and make it happen!  Get out your neighbors to make their vote count as well!  Less than 3 fortnights.  Anyone taking 11/07 off?

Howdy all.  So, this has been a week of sadness and evil around us.  Lessons to be learned all around us; but what lessons, and for who?

Do you know?..

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters.  But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. ~ Galatians 5:13

My policy has been, and will continue to be, while I have the honor to remain in the administration of the government, to be upon friendly terms with, but independent of, all the nations of the earth. To share in the broils of none. To fulfil our own engagements. To supply the wants, and be carriers for them all: Being thoroughly convinced that it is our policy and interest to do so. ` George Washington, letter to Gouverneur Morris, 1795

Can you imagine if this quote from George Washington had been incorporated into the Constitution, say Article II?  We wouldn’t be free of enemies, but what friends we would have.  Just to be friendly, BUT INDEPENDENT of all nations on earth.  Imagine not picking or choosing our friends based on greed, or desire, but to help all who need it because it’s the right thing to do.  Yet, not get embroiled in other nation’s greed and wanton struggles to usurp power.  Instead, stand against that usurpation.  It is true that America has tried to live up to this ideal as best it could for the last 2 centuries.  Yet at times we have failed.  Why do I say we?  Because we put the person in the White House.  As a nation, we always do.  So, it seems apparent that we failed 4 years ago.  The person in the White House now has no desire to follow the ideals that Washington spoke of.  He has his own wants and desires.  Our failure.  He would rather golf then deal with crises.  Our failure.  He would rather take credit for good things and blame everyone else for bad things; no scruples, no sense of accountability.  Our failure.  So, the lessons to be learned are out there; for who?  For us, We the People.  We must learn the lesson of being meticulous in choosing.  This nation of ours was developed and passed down to us by great men and women who offered their lives fortunes and sacred honor to achieve what no other nation, before or since, could.  They put into action ideals that are found in Paul’s epistle to the Galatians.  5:14 is the verse that many if not most remember, “For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”  But 5:13 is far more important.  We have all been called to live here in America in freedom.  That’s the driving force that brought our ancestors here.  But there is accountability, responsibility that goes along with that freedom.  Don’t use it to satisfy sinful ways.  DON’T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!!  Just a couple of decades ago, those who had to utilize welfare were embarrassed, even ashamed.  They felt that way because they could not make it the way they were going.  And they strived to get off of welfare; they tried to recover.  And there are those today that strive to recover as well.  But it appears that a vast majority who take welfare, and any other program they can get, do so for their own convenience.  The do so to satisfy their ‘sinful’ ways.  How sad.  And our President not only accepts that fact, he condones it.  HE PROMOTES IT.  And whose failure is that?  Our failure.

So, what is the lesson to learn?  Vote for the other guy?  No.  Did that in ’76, ’92, and ’08.  Been there, got the tee shirt.  Ok, how about learn all about the candidates and choose wisely?  No.  Not enough.  The lesson is

  • Learn all you can about the candidates
  • Tell everyone you can what you know
  • Show them the facts
  • LISTEN to their questions;
    • don’t necessarily answer them
    • Invite them to read the facts themselves, so they can decide for themselves.
    • And, in concert with a great line from an ‘Indiana Jones’ movie – Choose Wisely.

This is our nation; our city on a hill.  The light has been dimmed, but it still burns – it is still visible.  I can see it.  Can you?

Take care, God bless and especially at this time in history,

Howdy all.  Today I get right to it.

For we are God's masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. ~ Ephesians 2:10

Let’s Roll. ~ Todd Beamer, onboard United Flight 93, September 11, 2001.

I know that the anniversary is behind us, yet the feelings that come from that day will always be with us.  Good, bad, sad, patriotic, angry, nonchalant.  So, how do we go on?  Well, please let me share.

We had the vet over to look at our lead stallion, producer of some fine quality quarterhorses; he has been coughing a lot.  My daughter held the rope while the vet checked him.  The news was not good at all.  He has contracted a disease that is incurable and terminal.  He must be put down to save him any more suffering.  My wife heard this and began to cry.  ‘Doc’ is our favorite; the sweetest and most gentle stallion there ever was.  And his babies are so beautiful.  But, the news is bad.  He is suffering.  So my wife tells me through her tears over the phone.  And then we start to plan how to best take care of this.  We love the stud, but knowing what we must do, through our pain of the heart, we plan to take action; to do what is best for Doc.  I share this because we Americans are all like this.  Yes, when we are faced with the sadness of loss, we react sometimes so far out of our norm; it is understandable.  But, we soon take the reins and do what we must do.  Even through the sadness, or inevitability.  Todd Beamer was not the only one that day who took action.  Those on the flights are not the only ones.  Those on the ground were not the only ones.  Those in the buildings, the firefighters, the police, the military personnel, the people on the streets; were not the only ones.  We all took action.  We all stepped up to the plate in front of us and took the action we needed to take for ourselves.  That day, we were all One Nation Under God, no matter how much you may like or dislike that phrase.  You see, as stated in Ephesians, we are all His masterpiece.  His plan for us, set into motion so long ago, continues to mold us as a people even today.  He gave us His son, our greatest gift from Him.  He also gave us Todd Beamer, Rudy Giuliani, Adam Rand, Lee Fehling and the other firefighters, the police, those onboard, those in the buildings, those who flew flags 11 years ago today, those who gave blood, those who gave a stranger a hug.  My wife and I know we have to do something that is sad and painful, but the right thing to do.  Those on United 93 knew they had to do what they did.  Those who survived that day, knew and still know now what America must do.  There is no party platform of any political party that can tell us what to do about our way of life.  Only We the People can decide what is best.  The party platforms are not instructions on how to behave or believe.  They are records, archives if you will; documentation of who we already are.  He has created us anew through Jesus Christ, to do the good things we are supposed to do.  Americans know what we must do; we always have.  Whether it is to stop the suffering of a majestic animal, take care of a lost child, stop someone from cruelly causing pain, save a nation, or just simply remember.  There will always be time to grieve, to let out steam, to try to relax.  And there is time to take action.  Our nation needs help; our constitution is injured and tattered.  Our children and grandchildren will need all the help we can give them.  We are all suffering these days.  Our suffering may not end for a while.  But we are Americans.  It’s time to take action.  So, I say to you: Let’s Roll.

Take care, God bless and especially at this time in history,

How much of the convention coverage did you really watch?  I had a hard time watching either one.  But there were a couple of people that I did want to hear from.  I could listen to Clint Eastwood say anything, almost as much as listening to John Wayne.  The critics said he rambled, and was disjointed in his speech.  I guess there was no way around that for him since he had no prepared speech and figured out what to say just before his introduction!  But, how many empty chairs did you see afterwards?  And doesn’t an empty chair now mean something completely new and encouraging?  YES!!!!  And all from the top of an 82 year old’s head.  That was great!  And what about the DNC?  What inspiring speech came from there?  Could it be the vote to amend the platform to re-include God and Jerusalem?  How about the immediate reaction to the result?  I think (truly I do) that the closing prayer by Cardinal Dolan was fabulous.  And what strength of character for him to go into the lion’s den and give the prayer he did.  And did you see the pictures of those in the audience during the prayer?  They were following him throughout.  Only one or two disapproving looks.  What does that tell you about the democratic party, let alone the empty seats?  Maybe they were saving a spot for their glorious leader to sit by them.  Too bad that Clint didn’t give his speech before the RNC.  There weren’t any seats saved out during the entire convention.  All the seats were taken.  No one knew to save a seat for Barry.  Oh well.

Gifts from God?  You can’t deny the gift of Cardinal Dolan praying for 5 minutes and not getting booed off the stage.  Clint Eastwood speaking from his heart, not even the GOP teleprompter could do so well with words.  And then, there is Barack H Obama.  What?  BHO is a gift from God?  Yes, he is.  You see, as mentioned in Isaiah 65:24, He was answering our prayers even before we knew we needed to pray; even before we knew we needed His strength.  President Obama is a gift from God, because without his self-centered, narcissistic need to put himself in front of everything, we might not have known about progressivism, or the Marxist socialist movement in America.  We may never have realized that our future was going to be taken from us and our children.  We may never have known about the coming attack on our Constitution, if he hadn’t spoken to a plumber during a campaign stop in Ohio.  Heck, that plumber might still be a plumber instead of running for Congress without Bobo.  The Sleeping Giant might still be sleeping if it wasn’t for Obama.  We might have lost it all, even before we knew we were losing something!  And the tea party might still be a distant historical fact, or a game that 5 year old girls play in the den.  And you thought Joe Biden was the only one with the gift of gaffe.

So, we should thank God for the gifts we have received; Clint Eastwood’s enlightening talk, Cardinal Dolan for exceptional wisdom and strength, and Barack Obama for waking the Giant.

Take care, God bless and especially at this time in history,

STAND WITH ISRAEL!!!
