Military Compensation Committee

http://mldc.whs.mil/index.php/public-comments

Please go to the above link, fill out the form and ask this committee to repeal USFSPA.  Let those who are divorced be free from the insane belief that a former spouse of a military person deserves being paid for life by those who served.

Todays military spouse has more benefits and job career opportunities than those in the general public.  They get job placement OVER (before) veterans.

Joining the armed services is voluntary and so is marriage.  No one should be paid for life simply because they said "I do."   End this "cottage industry".

Have all of your family and friends also ask for repeal of this law that leaves those who served a tin can and cardboard box when they divorce and the former spouse gets a penthouse.

Those who served should not be the  only people in the US who are forced to pay a former spouse for life out of wages "earned after divorce."

Civilians get a  chance after divorcing and so should those who served.

The reasons for granting these former spouses pay for life makes no sense as most of them remarry another person in the armed services.  The real winners are the attorneys.

The military needs your help by Oct. 22

We Have a Golden Opportunity to Get the White House to
review and understand  that the USFSPA is Biased, Unfair and Outdated and ready for Disposal!

But there’s ONLY ONE WEEK Remaining to Get Our Petition Completed and to the White House before the Opportunity Expires!

What then needs to happen by Saturday, October 22?

Each of the more than 1000 members of the ULSG to contact just three of their family members or neighborhood friends and have them sign the ULSG petition (link below). The White House has pledged they will accept for review and determination our completed petition.
Only 3000 signatures are now needed for this to happen.

The White House has made this offer, an offer we would be foolish to refuse!

“Eliminate the permanent division of retention/retirement pay of members of the Uniformed Services in a divorce “

"The permanent division of retention/retirement pay of members of the Uniformed Services in a divorce as property under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 1408, the Uniformed Services Former Spouses Protection Act, PL 97-252 is inconsistent with prevalent family law concepts, unfairly singles out personnel of the uniformed services for unequal treatment of a divorce, is discriminatory on its face and in impact, is inconsistent with other federal laws, violates the constitutional concepts of federalism, and unconstitutionally interferes with Presidential and Congressional duties to provide for the Armed Forces.  Such action by the President and Congress will reestablish the proper legal precedent as established by the U.S. Supreme Court in McCarty v. McCarty, 453 US 210(1981)."
