As we all know that something needs to be done with the immigration system in the United States. As my fellow Republicans know, Trump plans to build a wall, and he will have the theMexican Government pay for it. I do admit that I am a supporter of Trump, but this wall will destroy our peace with Mexico. We might as well just strengthen our security in along the border. We all know that the Democrats are happy to welcome anyone into our country, but some of these people are doing bad things and they are stealing our jobs.
That leads me to my next point. Somebody needs to explain to me why President Obama is addicted to helping the Syrian Refugees. To start, it is their Civil war, and there is no reason for us to get involved. We have veterans, people who have once put their lives on the line to defend our country, and they are sitting on the streets with nothing to eat and nowhere to stay. I once decided to take time out of my day to talk to a homeless veteran.
"I have nowhere to stay. I am not respected. I don't understand why I do not have any support from our government. I have done 3 tours in Afghanistan, and when I came back from my 2nd tour I lost my home, my family, and everything I had."
He then began to cry. I could see that he felt ashamed, so I asked him why he was ashamed.
"I am 43 years old and I have nothing to show for myself."
I told him that there was no greater thing to show what type of person you are than to serve in our nations defense.
I gave this man my phone number and 400 dollars. I received a phone call 2 months later. It was him, he had just gotten a job bussing tables at a local restaurant, and he was living with a few friends he knew from they Army.
I would like to thank you Tido for showing me what it's like to be a homeless veteran. This was a very humbling and emotional experience for me, and I thank you for it.
