Trump Mulls Delaying General Election

Warning: Liberal Meltdown in progress - crybaby | Meme Generator

President Donald Trump hinted at a possible postponement of the November presidential election in a twitter post on Thursday.

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???" Trump tweeted.

Trump has vehemently opposed expanding vote-by-mail, citing election fraud concerns. Many states are working to expand voter options amid the coronavirus pandemic.

    • Hold the Election over an extended period of time... form Nov 3  - Nov 7, stagger voting in Alphabetic Order with 1/3rd voting each of the first three days and the fourth day would be for those who were not able to make it to the polls to vote on the day they were scheduled... due to unforeseen events... illness, accident, etc.  No mail-in ballots.  And the Governor should be arrested for attempting to rig the election... he knows that he is mailing out 10 million more ballots than the state has eligible voters... that should be the evidence of Election Fraud and the Governor, the Secretary of State and Attorney General should all be arrested as it is their jobs to ensure the election is not rigged.

    • That is a great idea.

    • You took an oath to the Constitution, please read it what you suggest can't be done. The date is set by the Constitution. Thank you for your service.

    • No, under the Constitution election dates are set by the State legislatures. There is no ground on which the Constitution sought to regulate voting in any manner.

    • The Congress may set the date... for federal elections. See

Article 1, Section 4, Clause 1  of the US Constitution states: "The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."  Congress may set any date or dates it likes for the election of its members.

Article 2, Section 1, Clause 4 of the US Constitution states: "The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States." Congress sets the date(s) for chusing... by popular vote, the state electors (voting for president) and the Constitution sets the date in December of for the state electors to vote.

Congress sets the date for popular votes... for state electors.

State electors meet in their respective state capitals in December to cast their votes. The results are certified by Congress, where they are tabulated nationally in the first week of January before a joint meeting of the Senate and House of Representatives.

You may want to take your own advice... Congress sets the date(s) for the popular vote to choose State Electors and too vote for Federal Representatives, not the Constitution.  In fact, extended voting is already the law in many states... early voting.  Stop the disinformation.

    • Gov. Gruesom is related to Pelosi.  Are you surprised!  He should be tarred and feathered as they did in Colonial Williamsburg Virginia.  Election over an extended period of time is an excellent soluion.

    • I am sure that you Californians can find a bucket of tar and there are plenty of chickens left in California... how about a few thousand Patriots showing up at teh Governors home and inviting him out fo chicken dinner...

    • well is this going to happened in November? I don't think so
