'We're going to see more': Sanctuary cities cave in face of Trump's funding threats

Image result for not a sanctuary city anymoreSeveral towns, cities and counties around the nation are caving to President Trump's threat to pull funding, and abandoning their "sanctuary" pledges to shield illegal immigrants from federal authorities.

Dayton, Ohio, dropped a policy that restricted the city’s cooperation with immigration officials pursuing illegal immigrants arrested for misdemeanors or felony property crimes, according to the Dayton Daily News. Police Chief Richard Biehl said federal authorities will no longer be impeded by the city when pursuing illegal immigrants being held by his department.

Other communities that have dropped policies of shielding illegal immigrant suspects from Immigration and Customs Enforcement include Miami-Dade and Dayton, are Saratoga, N.Y., Finney County, Kan., and Bedford, Penn., according to The Center for Immigration Studies, which keeps a list of sanctuary communities.

“We are reviewing policy changes at a multitude of other jurisdictions as well,” said Marguerite Telford, CIS’s director of communications, who said the organization is “being inundated” by officials on its sanctuary map who want to be taken off.

The mayor of Miami-Dade County, which was considered a sanctuary community, made headlines recently when he changed a policy that called for refusing to hold arrested immigrants for immigration officials unless they committed to reimbursing the county for the cost of detention.

Telling reporters that he did not want to imperil hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding, Mayor Carlos Gimenez ordered jails to comply with federal immigration detention requests.

The changes have come on the heels of President Trump’s executive order giving the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security the power to cut federal funding to communities that are deemed sanctuaries for illegal immigrants. Trump also has authorized the DHS to publish a weekly list of sanctuary communities.

Most in Hollywood are lairs and full of it trash. They care about themselves and that's about it. Not everyone out there, yet most. Send all the refugees to them and make it law they must remain there. See what happens from there. Actually, someone should come out to the media and challenge Hollywood and the other radical liberals to take them in and support them.

Yes they care about people sooo much so let the illegals live in the Hollywood Mansions and they can support them, than I will believe it.

I want to see Geraldo take some home with him.  Who ever got the idea that Geraldo knows ANYTHING about ANYTHING?:

GOP shifting on immigration
The politics of immigration in the Senate are shifting in the Trump era.

Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and David Perdue (R-Ga.), two of President Trump's strongest allies in the Senate, want to dramatically cut the number of green cards issued every year by the United States.

Agree with Col. Nelson.
The liberal democrat leadership of these sanctuary cities pretend to conform to federal guidelines only while they wait to get the federal funds they say they are entitled to. I hope the Trump administration will not be stupid enough
Not to recognize the defiant intentions of these sanctuary cities or states.
The safety of ordinary citizens is not exactly their top priority despite their statements or claims to the contrary.
These liberal politicians are as despicable liars as they are deplorable hateful elected officials who have no respect for President Trump. It is hard to believe we are fellow citizens with these intolerant hateful violence-prone
and very arrogant defiant blind misguided political crowd. I am trying very hard to maintain civility at this moment in time.

Florida Sheriff — “I Will Not Enforce Assault Weapons Ban, Neither Will Most Sheriffs”

Dennis Lemma, who is the Sheriff in Central Florida’s Seminole County, told a group of 2nd Amendment activists recently that he would not enforce an assault weapons ban that could soon become Florida law if the “Ban Assault Weapons Now” amendment passes in the Sunshine State.

According to News965, the ban has the following specifications.

The amendment proposed in the state legislature would ban possession of assault weapons, which are defined as “semiautomatic rifles and shotguns capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition at once, either in fixed or detachable magazine, or any other ammunition feeding device.”

Lemma, an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment and a first term sheriff who is running for re-election, said this about whether or not he would enforce such a law.

“It’s not only that I wouldn’t, the majority of sheriffs across the state would not do it,” Lemma said in the video. It’s up to the sheriffs what they are willing to enforce.”
