Texas Sen. Ted Cruz met with President-elect Trump late Tuesday afternoon. (AP Photo/David J. Phillip, File)Texas Sen. Ted Cruz met with President-elect Trump late Tuesday afternoon, hours after the incoming Republican president convened a meeting of his top transition staffers to review key appointments he will need to make before his inauguration in mid-January.

"Sen. Cruz is pleased to have the opportunity to meet with President-elect Trump in New York today," Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said in a statement.

The Texas senator is not involved in Trump's transition operation, though Frazier said he is eager to assist the next administration with its goals of repealing Obamacare and pursuing "cost-effective, patient-centered health care reform," appointing conservative justices to the Supreme Court, enforcing immigration laws and passing legislation "that will create more good-paying jobs for the American people."

"On behalf of the 27 million Texans he represents, the senator looks forward to assisting the Trump administration in achieving these objectives," she said.

Gowdy is perfect for AG position; Newt with his vast knowledge of history and experience in government would be an asset as SOS; Cruz is a true constitutionalist and would be perfect as a Supreme Court Justice, and I'm not sure it's a good idea to have him in the Senate anymore just because he could end up being a thorn in Trump's side.  I still don't trust him.  Rudi is a whole different situation.  He needs to be in Trump's cabinet, but in what capacity is a puzzlement.  Those are my choices, but I have no doubt President Elect Trump will make wise choices and who ever  he selects will be fine with me.

Repeal Obama Care.  Government needs to stay out of social issues, education and health care.  Private sector is a much better option for health care.   EPA should not be a position to over regulate us, causing outrageous expense to all of us to the point of putting businesses out of business.  Criminal illegals that have been released back into our society need to be deported ASAP and a cap needs to be put on the amount of immigrants we will allow on an annual basis.  NO MORE REFUGEES.  The ones that are here need to be dealt with, i.e., they need to be vetted and sent back to wherever they came from if they don't pass muster.  Federal funds should not go to states with sanctuary cities, and NO HEALTH CARE OR WELFARE BENEFITS to non citizens.  Our own welfare recipients need to succumb to drug testing before receiving benefits.  Parents of underage children who commit crimes need to be held accountable for those crimes.  My list is a long one, but I'll stop here..

Ryan needs to be replaced and Pelosi should just bend over and kiss her rear goodbye.  I don't care where she ends up, Siberia would suit me just fine.

But Trump is all for single payer healthcare.  He's also not said a word about withdrawing federal benefits to illegals.

GET A GRIP.  He's not even sworn in yet....not much he can do until then.  If ALL you can do is rip the President Elect, you need to consider visiting a different site.

Once again....................NO TROLLING

Cruz is needed as a senator to help win a victory in the Senate over 'ObanaCare' - Tax reform - Re-pealing the many EPA regulations - Building The WALL along OUR Southern Border - & a WHOLE SLEW of other ITEMS President Trump wants to impliment

I hope Trump told him to bring his proof of being a US Citizen.  People who have nothing to hide, hide nothing!

I have always been warned to beware of a wolf in sheep's clothing.  His Globalist wife scares me almost as much as he does.

I can't find one single thing in your comment that is true.  The courts have stated that Cruz is a natural born citizen.  There are some good articles online that explain it.  His wife isn't a globalist.  There are some good articles that explain that, too.

Trump hired an ex corner office Goldman Sachs exec to be his campaign finance manager...who was also an ex Soros fund mananger.  He now wants to make a GS exec head of the treasury.  Fox guarding the hen house??  These kinds of things should scare you.  Heidi Cruz has no power. None. Even if Cruz was elected, she'd have no power.  You need to be scared of who Trump appoints!

Tad Taylor,

Cruz never presented the required documentation or any evidence that he is a citizen. He had all his files surrounding the issue sealed, so how do you know if he is a citizen, much less a natural born citizen?

I agree we need to exercise caution on who is in our government, including Cruz as I for one have no reason to believe he is even eligible to hold the position he currently holds.

Heidi Cruz returned to her very powerful position at Goldman Sachs and she has held other powerful positions of global proportions, to deny that is to deny history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidi_Cruz

If the "courts" (plural) have determined Ted Cruz to be a natural born citizen, there would be public records of the determination of the courts, and to date, I have not seen one such official court document to that effect, much less more than one. Please provide the evidence, not an article but court evidence.

Thank you,

Ted Cruz, needs to take his sorry butt back to the UK, and while he is at it, he needs to take his CFR Buddies with him.

The man is Loyal to only one thing, and thats the Crown Of England.

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
