Since the days of President Wilson and John Dewey, Progressives (née Socialists) have fought to gain control of America’s gatekeepers — academia, the media, entertainment. This struggle didn’t just begin amidst the turmoil of the 60’s with Timothy Leary’s infamous “Turn on, tune in, drop out” mindset. Certainly there were giant leaps for Progressive minds made in that decade. Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Great Society” programs began the wholescale dependence of lower income upon the government.
In the span of one decade, Progressives set the stage for subtle, but unrelenting indoctrination of subsequent generations of young people. Conjoined with LBJ’s Great Society agenda, the Left moved the public away from the Founders’ vision of faith and freedom, and toward an ever-increasing government dependency.
Now, 50 years later, academia in the United States is mostly controlled by the Progressives who have ushered in new textbooks to reaffirm their worldview. The gatekeepers keep a stranglehold on education materials, only approving those texts which reinforce the revisionist history worldview, a worldview that typically demonizes America, the Founders, the early settlers and pioneers.
But there are many in the nation who have not ceded the school room battle to The Left just yet, including Cynthia Dunbar.
I'll be saying prayers all day today.....trusting God for this to be successful
Me too~ and everyday! thx
or Big Gov,t ~ Telling you each and everyday to" do what I say, or else! but dont do
as I do...."
We need a book burning and the casting out of false teachers in this nation form colleges and universities on down to kindergarten.
These teachers have ruined "our Children" with Common Core. They should be held
accountable. I am sure they carry Liability Insurance. Maybe it is time they use it,
get sued for what they have done, with all the kids in school getting hurt!
Melony B. DeFord your reference to this article is absolutely spot on !! Getting involved in the effort to bring the truth to students and reorientation of recent graduates is vital to keeping America as a REPUBLIC. A few quotes from the article:
"Tony Diaz, a well-known Reconquista (a movement predicated on the belief that the American Southwest should be wholly Mexican territory) proponent and activist, slammed the book:" can be viewed as only tip of the arrows the progressives will shoot at any truth.
"Texas is one of the nation’s largest textbook markets because it is one of the few where the state decides what books schools can buy rather than leaving it up to local districts, which means publishers that get their books approved can count on millions of dollars in sales. Further, publishers craft their standard textbooks based on the requirements of the biggest buyers. As a result, the Texas board has the power to shape the textbooks that children around the country read for years to come." My understanding of the impact Texas has in the K-12 marketplace is it sets a benchmark for school districts across the nation.
IS a goldmine for excellent research. I encourage all to join the battle for the minds of America's youth (under 30 years old).
This is good news.
Yes it is good news. Melony B. DeFord's discussion is just the beginning.
Actually, this started right after the War Between the States. Dr. Hunter McGuire wrote an excellent paper about it back in 1899. A good read!
stick to your guns
It is time to face the music... our Public Schools are beyond saving. It is past time that we provide school choice to parents thru the use of Education vouchers... let parents decide where they want to send their children to school.
Attempting to save the Public Schools is late and frankly will not work... in the mean time our children are suffering every day and we can no longer permit them to be abused by the wayward and destructive ideology of the progressives and Marxist... We need change and it needs to occur NOW not later. To that end Trump has promised to provide vouchers to parents and too eliminate Federal Mandates for Education... returning control of our children's education to parents and local government.
