Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced an investigation has uncovered that hundreds of non-US citizens are registered to vote in the state, and dozens of them voted illegally.
According to a release from Husted, 385 people who are not citizens of the United States are registered to vote in Ohio. Out of those, 82 voted in at least one election in the last year.
Husted’s office says the 82 non-citizens who are registered to vote and cast ballots will be immediately referred to law enforcement for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“In light of the national discussion about illegal voting it is important to inform our discussions with facts. The fact is voter fraud happens, it is rare and when it happens, we hold people accountable,” Secretary Husted said.
19 of the 82 non-citizens voted in the central Ohio area. 14 of those were in Franklin County, 2 were in Delaware County and 1 each in Fairfield, Licking and Union Counties.
The 303 registered voters identified as non-citizens who have notcast a ballot will be sent letters both informing them that non-citizens are not eligible to vote and requesting that they cancel their registration. A follow-up letter will be sent to any individuals that still remain on the rolls after 30 days. Any non-citizens identified that remain on the rolls after being contacted twice will then be referred to law enforcement, according to Husted.
How about that? A man doing his job and doing a great job at that! CONGRATULATIONS JON ON A JOB WELL DONE! Lets get more of em'.
Now the other States need to follow his example. I think Texas is investigating also.
There is not enough time for one person (about sixty years!) to do this in California; trust me, I know -- I live [t]here. My parents were staunch Republican voters until their untimely deaths by murder in 2003; after that, they changed their registration to (D), and I assume that they have voted "straight-ticket" Democrat since then. Even sending copies of their death certificates to the county registrar of voters was not enough to have their names removed from voter rolls.
Yeah, it's really THAT corrupt in California!
I lived in California with my Husband when he died, and I went to the Voter Registration to make sure he wasn't "Voting".
Why prosecute? Just DEPORT....
Absolutely... can you imagine how long it will take to prosecute 20 million illegals... before they can be deported? Look, the law doesn't extend 'due process' to non-citizens. Trump needs to issue an EO that requires ICE to deport within 72 hrs. when the deportee is unable to provide proof, that they are here legally... Period! No paid legal representation or court date, no hearing... Deport and let the individual file any appeal they believe is reasonable with the local US Council in their Nation of origin.
The current laws already prescribe life bans for those who enter illegally and end up being deported. We have sufficient laws to deal with the illegals... our problem is not the lack of laws it is the lack of enforcement and a judiciary that ignores the law, extends constitutional due process to non-citizens, basically guaranteeing a permanent back log of illegal aliens waiting to be deported.
Congress could tweak the existing law too clarify the law and provide mandatory penalties for aiding and abetting... harboring illegal aliens. They could impeach a whole host of judges and move to disbar thousands of immigration attorneys. We have an unfaithful, corrupt bureaucracy and JUDICIARY... administering our Immigration laws.
