Is February 28, 2017, 'The Night the Democratic Party Died'?

I was once a Democrat.  In those days, I thought I was on the team of truth, justice, and the American way. It was fun to be a Democrat then.  But... Bye, bye Miss American Pie.  Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry.  I woke up.

I'm no longer a Democrat (it's been many years now), and though on the rarest of occasions I worried I'd made a mistake, Tuesday night watching the shell-shocked faces of the Democrats on the floor of Congress while Donald Trump delivered his magnificent speech, I knew I had made no error.  I even wondered what was going on in my head in those isolated moments I doubted myself.

The Democratic Party members watching that speech looked like a party of the living dead.  They didn't know how to react.  They didn't know if they were Americans.  They didn't know who they were.

Every time Trump called for bipartisanship for the good of our country, they winced.  They couldn't stand it and didn't know how to react because they are the least bipartisan people in the world and they scarcely know what cooperating is.  Working together is not in their natures.  Yes, they talk about it endlessly but they never do it. (See: the history of the Soviet Union) Maybe it's not in their DNA.  (I should check mine.)

When the speech was over -- after there was no longer a dry eye in the house from the introduction of the widow of the Navy SEAL -- they left the room faster than fans of the losing team after the Super Bowl, only in this case they left so stunned you had to wonder if they would ever win the game again or even compete.

The Democrats -- the silly ladies dressed in white and all the others -- bet the house that Trump would make a fool of himself and Donald cut the legs out from under them. And when you bet the house and lose, you go home bankrupt.  And without a home to go to.

There is a real silver lining to the insane mean spirited behavior of the DEMs. What could that be? It's backfiring on them as fast as they can generate a brand new, yet FAKE controversy. They are not only turning off all of us, they are losing a ton of their loyal life-time voters. I'm not talking about their typical fringe, like the far-left big money donors and/or their crazy default cultural Libs. I'm talking about the dwindling honest blue collar workers. They are really finding it hard to defend the party that has been hi-jacked by the hard left. In some of my discussions, they tell me that now their are more issues that they do not support than do, by the DEMs.

With Trumps unfiltered speech, it was hard for them NOT to see Trump as he really is. Pundits may say that he was presidential in that speech, but WE have seen this long before others have caught on. Now they know that the Trump cartoon caricature was just a convenient metaphor invented by the corrupt media and their devious DEM party. And that translates into real votes. Votes that won't be cast for their Democrat politicians.

I agree, Fm, it's backfiring. Democrats still don't seem to realize the breadth of their dilemma. Their party finds itself in a hole they themselves dug, yet still they dig.

The body language of their leader only exposed their agony. Twitching, squirming, eyes shifting to and fro, "Nutty Nan" seemed as confused as ever.  A cage full of toothless tigers proved no match for the lion at the dais.  Ideologues bent on editing truth are poorly equipped to cope with reality. And their reality is that they lost, not once but twice-- Election Day 2016 and again last Tuesday. And still they don't get it.

I would warn everyone that PERCEPTION is often more powerful than the truth.... when the GOP leadership fails to defend its honor and the decorum of the Congress.. by permitting such disrespect for the Office of President there ought to be real concern.

The GOP leadership needs to Censure the entire Democrat Caucus for their disrespectful acts during the State of the Union Address... using their powers they need to censure take away their committee assignments and figuratively move there offices into the basements of the Capitol building.

The disgraceful conduct of the Democrats on the floor of Congress and in the public forum.. outside of Congress should not be dismissed.  Democrats calling for independent investigations, holding press conferences in the name of their committees needs to stop... when it happens remove the offending member from their positon on the committee and warn the MSM that their press credentials will be withdrawn if they represent such meetings as the legitimate acts of such committees.

As it stands now it appears that Sen. McConnell and Speaker Ryan are more allied with the Democrat Party than their own President. . this must stop or the people need to rally and demand their resignations... Trump may want to organize such an effort as it appears that he is being thrown under the bus.. by his own party.

Absolutely, yes yes yes.

Nutty Nan's face was twitching so much...she looked like she needed a muscle relaxer.

I do not trust them (democrats).  They have sooooo much money at their any whim and MSM behind them.  They may be looking downward trim, but look out, money can buy a lot of lies.  Heck, I even have Jewish friends who are still defending the Democrat party and hating on Trump.   I will never understand how Catholics can even stand to be associated with them.

Money is powerful, but in the end, it didn't do Hillary any good.  The light finally turned on, and the American people woke up, and now that they have become awake, they will not easily be put back to sleep, money or no money, would be my thinking.

Jo... so far, Hillary is skating free.  It doesn't look good for justice ...not at all.

The election of Perez and Ellison to head the DNC will the the death knell for the Democrat party. We may see new parties being formed.  Perhaps the two party system is a thing of the past.

We need a "Trump Party" free of all the discontents on both sides, and the ingrained corruption.

Yes the democrat party is self destructing, they will regroup and rear their ugly heads in another form with the attempt to disguise themselves, a new party name, a new slogan, a new banner but we will identify them we will point them out and we will cut the vipers head off. People don't be fouled, Van Jones noted communist racist said that Trump became president with his speech, other Democrats are shaking their heads at congressional democrats pitifully display of unpatriotic and hateful behavior. Congressional Democrats are acting like they have mad cow. I love it, thank you Lord God Democrats are the product of their own behavior we don't have to help them desolve in a soup of their platforms ugliness. I still believe their party is ashes but the communist that make up that party still exist at some point their will be a fight.

God Bless America and the State of Israel

Horrible: Democrats Set The Constitution On Fire With Fraudulent Impeachment

House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning after an investigation that violated fundamental provisions of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The investigation of the president began with the complaint of a so-called “whistleblower” who turned out to be a rogue Central Intelligence Agency employee, protected by a lawyer who had called for a “coup” against Trump in early 2017.

Democrats first demanded that the “whistleblower” be allowed to testify. But after House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was found to have lied about his committee’s contact with the “whistleblower,” and after details of the “whistleblower’s” bias began to leak, Democrats reversed course. In violation of the President Trump’s Sixth Amendment right to confront his accuser, Democrats refused to allow the “whistleblower” to testify. They argue the president’s procedural rights, even if they existed, would not apply until he was tried in the Senate — but they also invented a fraudulent “right to anonymity” that, they hope, might conceal the whistleblower even then.

Schiff began the “impeachment inquiry” in secret, behind the closed doors of the Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF) in the basement of the U.S. Capitol, even though none of the testimony was deemed classified. Few members of Congress were allowed access. Schiff allowed selective bits of testimony to leak to friendly media, while withholding transcripts of testimony.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), having allowed the secret process to unfold, legitimized it with a party-line vote authorizing the inquiry. The House resolution denied President Trump the procedural rights enjoyed by Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, and denied the minority party the traditional right to object to witnesses called by the majority.

Rather than the House Judiciary Committee, which traditionally handles impeachment, Pelosi also deputized the House Intelligence Committee to conduct fact-finding; the Judiciary Committee was turned into a rubber stamp. Schiff held a few public hearings, but often failed to release transcripts containing exculpatory evidence until after they had passed.

In the course of the Intelligence Committee’s investigation, Schiff quietly spied on the telephone records of his Republican counterpart, Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA). He also snooped on the phone records of a journalist, John Solomon; and on the phone records of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, acting as President Trump’s personal lawyer.

Schiff’s eavesdropping violated both the First Amendment right to press freedom and the Sixth Amendment right to counsel. Yet he proceeded undeterred by constitutional rights, publishing the phone logs in his committee’s report without warning, confirmation, or explanation, alleging that Nunes and the others were part of a conspiracy to assist the president’s allegedly impeachable conduct. When Republicans on the Judiciary Committee asked the Intelligence Committee’s majority counsel, Daniel Goldman, to explain the phone logs, he refused to answer,

Ironically, Schiff had done exactly what Democrats accuse Trump of doing: abused his power to dig up dirt on political opponents, then obstructed a congressional investigation into his party’s and his committee’s misconduct.

Democrats’ articles of impeachment include one for the dubious charge of “abuse of power,” which is not mentioned in the Constitution; and one for “obstruction of Congress,” which in this case is an abuse of power in itself.

Alexander Hamilton, writing about impeachment in Federalist 65, warned that “there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” Democrats have fulfilled Hamilton’s worst fears.

The Trump impeachment will soon replace the 1868 impeachment of President Andrew Johnson — which the House Judiciary Committee staff actually cited as a positive precedent — as the worst in American history.

In service of their “coup,” Democrats have trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Republic has never been in greater danger.

You don't get to interrupt me
