California University Bans Phrase “Illegal Immigrant”

A California University has banned the use of the phrase “illegal immigrant” due to its offensive tone to potential illegal immigrants.  Professor Alicia Chavez at the University of Southern California (USC) told her students that they would be banned from using the words “illegal immigrant” in their final exams.

California university professor bans the phrase reports:

Alicia Chavez teaches the American studies course, “America, the Frontier and the New West,” a course that focuses on “the intersecting historical processes and diverse peoples which have shaped the region of the North American West.”

According to an email screenshot supplied by a student in the class, despite the class dealing substantially with illegal immigration into the United States, Chavez banned use of the term “illegal immigrant” on her students’ upcoming final exam. Instead, students have been ordered to use the term “undocumented immigrant” or “unauthorized entry” as a euphemism for such immigrants.

The ban on the term “illegal immigrant” is just the most recent sign of anti-conservative bias in the class, according to the student who forwarded the email. The student said Prof. Chavez also denounced supporters of President-elect Donald Trump as racist, and the class’s teaching assistant once claimed Trump wants to deport all Mexicans from the United States.

Chavez’s class isn’t the only one in the American studies department marked by a severe political bias. The Daily Caller News Foundation was sent a flier promoting a spring, 2017 course, “Borderlands in a Global Context.” The flier is nakedly political in outlook, telling prospective students the class will focus on “current activism in Standing Rock as water protectors hold off the construction of a destructive oil pipeline, the importance of organizing with undocumented immigrants in this historical moment, and Native Hawaiian sovereignty and cultural revitalization movements.”

TheDCNF reached out to Chavez for comment, but did not immediately receive a reply.

USC’s annual tuition is more than $51,000 per year, with the total cost of attendance reaching up to $70,000 per year.

Guess they never heard of the Constitution and especially the First Amendment.  Nor do they know that an ILLEGAL is a criminal.  Wall off the state.  It's a socialist paradise.

I do not think they are even allowed the subject of the Constitution to be learned in school, but that is the way of the UK's UN agendas.

Let the state leave the country with secession and pay for their own currency, military, roads, power grid - - crime wave AND SOCIAL SERVICES.

Alicia Chavez is herself a product of ILLEGAL Immigration!!!

That is a very interesting photo

Remove the liberal progressive commucrat professors from the halls of learning and the problem goes away. My guess is most of these radical professors have been given the title without earning it. Look at how domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn were given theirs instead of time in prison, they should have been sitting right along side of Charlie Manson.

That is easier said than done.  The vast majority have devoted years of their academic lives drawing government paychecks.  Few could make it in the private sector, as many have never had a private sector job.  Nursing off the government for so long, they convince themselves they are worth 2-5 times the median family income of the private sector that funds them.  They think they deserve more.  They can only thrive in a Socialistic/Communistic society.  Most reject the nation our founding fathers created.

How about illegal Alien criminal Invader That is truly what they are.

They were never illegal "Immigrants " ,  They are ILLEGAL ALIENs!  If you use identity politics to to identify your self as "XYZ"-american you have no loyalty to American values and haven't tried to assimilate at all.  Just the contrary you want to be singled out and recognized a special class of people.

cut all federal funding

The banning of the phrase, "illegal immigrant" is all well and good since the proper term is "illegal alien"

Or we could use person who immigrated into the country in contradiction to the laws and policies of that country (illegally), but I do not think they count words anymore (anything above 10 makes the professors use parts of the brain that have been dormant since the got tenure)

TRUMP:  Trump To Give ‘Start Your Engines’ Command At Dayton

President Donald Trump will give the command for drivers to start their engines before the Daytona 500.

Daytona International Speedway officials named Trump the grand marshal for NASCAR’s season opener, meaning he will deliver the most famous four words in auto racing. “Gentleman, start your engines,” has been a staple of races around the country and world for decades.

White House spokesman Judd Deere said Thursday the president plans to attend the race. Track president Chip Wile confirmed the news in a release.

“Daytona International Speedway has been privileged to have hosted several sitting presidents of the United States over our history,” Wile said. “We’re honored that the president of the United States has chosen to experience the pageantry and excitement of ‘The Great American Race.’”

Trump is the third sitting president to attend a race at Daytona, but only the second to attend the Daytona 500. George W. Bush attended in 2004. Trump is the first to be given an honorary role in pre-race ceremonies.

Trump is scheduled to spend part of the Presidents Day weekend at his private club in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a flight restriction for Sunday and the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for presidential security, also tweeted to fans that drones are prohibited within 30 miles of the race in Daytona Beach — a restriction put in place for presidential visits.

Trump has hosted previous NASCAR champions at the White House and last October awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to motorsports titan Roger Penske. Last year, Trump also praised retired driver Mario Andretti, the Daytona 500 winner in 1967, reminiscing about a ride Andretti gave him in a race car for his reality show “The Apprentice.”

“I said, ‘Mario, get me out of here. I want to get out of this car,’” Trump recalled. “We went so fast. We literally — we covered four blocks in like a second.”
