Apocalyptic George Will: If Trump wins the nomination, prepare for the end of the conservative party

If you look beyond Donald Trump’s comprehensive unpleasantness — is there a disagreeable human trait he does not have? — you might see this: He is a fundamentally sad figure. His compulsive boasting is evidence of insecurity. His unassuageable neediness suggests an aching hunger for others’ approval to ratify his self-admiration. His incessant announcements of his self-esteem indicate that he is not self-persuaded. Now, panting with a puppy’s insatiable eagerness to be petted, Trump has reveled in the approval of Vladimir Putin, murderer and war criminal.

Putin slyly stirred America’s politics by saying Trump is “very . . . talented,” adding that he welcomed Trump’s promise of “closer, deeper relations,” whatever that might mean, with Russia. Trump announced himself flattered to be “so nicely complimented” by a “highly respected” man: “When people call you brilliant, it’s always good.” When MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Putin “kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries,” Trump replied that “at least he’s a leader.” Besides, Trump breezily asserted, “I think our country does plenty of killing also.” Two days later, Trump, who rarely feigns judiciousness, said: “It has not been proven that he’s killed reporters.”

Well. Perhaps the 56 journalists murdered were coincidental victims of amazingly random violence that the former KGB operative’s police state is powerless to stop. It has, however, been “proven,” perhaps even to Trump’s exacting standards, that Putin has dismembered Ukraine. (Counts one and two at the 1946 Nuremberg trials concerned conspiracy to wage, and waging, aggressive war.)

Until now, Trump’s ever-more-exotic effusions have had an almost numbing effect. Almost. But by his embrace of Putin, and by postulating a slanderous moral equivalence — Putin kills journalists, the United States kills terrorists, what’s the big deal, or the difference? — Trump has forced conservatives to recognize their immediate priority.

Citizenship is with the mother.  Cruz did not have to be naturalized, so he is considered natural born.  It's the law.

Sounds good to me. I like Cruz but we've already had a fraud in the Oval Office. I wouldn't like another. When the next POTUS is sworn in. I hope someone would point him to what you just posted. That would mean an END to Barry Soetoro AKA Barrack (Nothing is ever my fault.) Obama and put a STAKE in the heart of the liberal left for putting that incompetent FOOL, Barry Soetoro AKA Barrack (Nothing is ever my fault.) Obama as head of this nation.

Never liked George Will; Trump 2016!

Someone should ask George Will WHY he gave Obama a dinner party at HIS home, when the dictator won his first term. Instead he spends his time on cable bashing Trump, Cruz and Carson. The man is just a pretend Conservative - always was and continues in that fraudulent fashion. He's a proud reprobate!

The RINO media lords of deception have dug deeper into their arsenal of character assassination weapons...they have not yet pulled out the nukes.

The left has barely ramped up the racialist rhetoric and street thuggery....leading to the racialist lovefest of hatred amplification using sympathy shields of hundreds and maybe thousands of kids driving thru their final hate speech...everyone hates you and anyone else unwilling to do what we say.

Hail Saul! Hail Saul!

If Trump wins then all of the DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS will stop him by no votes for him

The DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS not want him

I'm curious.  The title of this write says the "end of the conservative party" but exactly WHAT PARTY are they referring to ?  Dems nor Repubs are conservative. The only really truly conservative party is the CP. And that party (Constitution Party =CP) is very stable and not at all ready to 'end' as the write says, so what party does this writer refer to ?

I have trouble deciding who the more arrogant self centered bastard is,will or rove

Oh puleeze George

Dear Will,

It is because of the Conservatives you represent that we are glad to be rid of your cooties. We will take the death of the current Republican Party "conservatism" and gladly escort in a new party. You may leave our movement any time you wish, and don't forget to close the door behind you.

And, take all your mega-billionaire donors with you. Our government is no longer for sell!

Judicial Watch->  Emails Show Dossier-Connected Obama State Dept Officials Set ‘Face-To-Face’ Meeting On ‘Russian Matter’ Shortly Before 2016 Election

Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation on Thursday released 84 pages of documents showing Obama’s State Department was central to pushing the ‘Trump-Russia’ hoax shortly before the 2016 election.

The email exchange between then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer, a very close associate to Christopher Steele, show them discussing a ‘face-to-face’ meeting in New York on a ‘Russian matter’ in September of 2016.

Via Judicial Watch:

Judicial Watch and The Daily Caller News Foundation today released 84 pages of documents, including a September 2016 email exchange between then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer, a close associate of dossier author Christopher Steele, discussing a “face-to-face” meeting on a “Russian matter.”

(In June 2016 Nuland permitted a meeting between Steele and the FBI’s legal attaché in Rome. Nuland told CBS News that the State Department knew about the Steele dossier by July 2016.)

According to an op-ed Winer wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, also in September 2016, “Steele and I met in Washington and discussed the information now known as the “dossier… I prepared a two-page summary and shared it with Nuland, who indicated that, like me, she felt that the secretary of state needed to be made aware of this material.”

A September 17, 2016, email exchange between Nuland and Winer – that was classified in the interest of national defense or foreign policy – discusses the political situation in Libya, but also brings up a “Russian matter:”

Good. I’ll reach out when im there Sunday. [Redacted]

If Victoria Nuland’s name sounds familiar it’s because she has been on Judicial Watch’s radar for a long time and in many of TGP’s previous reports.

In December 2018, Judicial Watch released documents revealing that Victoria Nuland was involved in the Obama State Department’s urgent gathering of classified Russia investigation information and disseminating it to members of Congress within hours of Donald Trump taking office.

In a related lawsuit, Judicial Watch is suing the State Department communications between Ambassador Nuland and employees of Fusion GPS, as well as top ranking Department of Justice, FBI, and State Department officials.

“The Obama State Department was central to the effort to target President Trump with the Russia smear,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These new emails further show that senior Obama State Department advanced the Russiagate hoax just before the 2016 presidential election.”
