Apocalyptic George Will: If Trump wins the nomination, prepare for the end of the conservative party

If you look beyond Donald Trump’s comprehensive unpleasantness — is there a disagreeable human trait he does not have? — you might see this: He is a fundamentally sad figure. His compulsive boasting is evidence of insecurity. His unassuageable neediness suggests an aching hunger for others’ approval to ratify his self-admiration. His incessant announcements of his self-esteem indicate that he is not self-persuaded. Now, panting with a puppy’s insatiable eagerness to be petted, Trump has reveled in the approval of Vladimir Putin, murderer and war criminal.

Putin slyly stirred America’s politics by saying Trump is “very . . . talented,” adding that he welcomed Trump’s promise of “closer, deeper relations,” whatever that might mean, with Russia. Trump announced himself flattered to be “so nicely complimented” by a “highly respected” man: “When people call you brilliant, it’s always good.” When MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Putin “kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries,” Trump replied that “at least he’s a leader.” Besides, Trump breezily asserted, “I think our country does plenty of killing also.” Two days later, Trump, who rarely feigns judiciousness, said: “It has not been proven that he’s killed reporters.”

Well. Perhaps the 56 journalists murdered were coincidental victims of amazingly random violence that the former KGB operative’s police state is powerless to stop. It has, however, been “proven,” perhaps even to Trump’s exacting standards, that Putin has dismembered Ukraine. (Counts one and two at the 1946 Nuremberg trials concerned conspiracy to wage, and waging, aggressive war.)

Until now, Trump’s ever-more-exotic effusions have had an almost numbing effect. Almost. But by his embrace of Putin, and by postulating a slanderous moral equivalence — Putin kills journalists, the United States kills terrorists, what’s the big deal, or the difference? — Trump has forced conservatives to recognize their immediate priority.

Little Bright Feather There must be a mysterious content from the water of the Potomac River aftrer a long period of ingestion one's spine becomes soft, their vision becomes short sighted and they forgot the manner of man that brought them there.  The Washington beltway is like a hardened shell and the established republicans are perfect contented clams filtering the polluted waters and apparently do not know what to do with  clean water that might cause them to shrink. Democrats are immune to the contents.

Very good.

I call it the Potomac Disease, it quickly shrinks their brain. <G>

IT WILL BE THE BEST CONSERVATIVE PARTY EVER

My immediate priority is to rid this government with the status quo all talk no action politicians on both sides. We've shared this forum thru Clinton and Obamas eviscerated of our liberty. There's been inspiring conversation but no change. It's time to really rock the boat. TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT

All these trashy people psychoanalyze Donald Trump and tell us what he's really like: MIND READERS, WOW! Trump is a Presbyterian not your typical multi-generational loser mentality person!

SOAP sent you a message.

NO evidence of the accusations against Putin.  AS for no more conservative party (because of Trump) is the most ludicrous thing I've heard yet !  Trump stands on the Founders principles, but today's public would not know about that since the Founders have been torn our of our history and our minds, but Trump has been speaking Founders words and principles !  Conservative ??  The GOP has done a number on that all by themselves ! Republicans have no idea what a real conservative is ! Finally anyone with a brain at all, can see that the Dems and Repubs are one in the same !

Trump is the personification of CONSERVATIVE !

And I'd trade Putin for Obama in a heartbeat, but no one wants Obama ! Can 't pawn him off on anyone !  Darn !

Agree!

Agreed. At least Vlad is looking out for his country's good. Barry Soetoro AKA Barrack ( Nothing is ever my fault.) Obama is, IMHO mind you. Actively trying to destroy this country.

Thrice agreed! But is Barrys' "Inspector Clouseau" really deliberate or just bumbling antics? I guess it really does not matter, since we all seem the designated fall guy, like Clouseau's boss, at this point.

Wonder what our "media" thought, hearing truth for the first time in 7 years.

Cruz's father did not become an American citizen until around 2001 or 2002.

Yikes !!! Ocasio-Cortez: We Need A ‘Multigendered, Multigeographic’ United States

The United States of America needs to be “multigendered” and “multigeographic,” according to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who endorsed fellow socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at the “Bernie’s Back Rally” in New York on Saturday.

The freshman lawmaker and “Squad” member officially endorsed Sanders during a rally in Queensbridge Park in Long Island City, New York, on Saturday and called for more diversity in the U.S., arguing that it should not only be “multiracial” and “multigenerational” but “multigeographic” and “multigendered.”

“We need a United States that really, truly, and authentically is operated, owned, and decided by working – and all – people in the United States of America,” Ocasio-Cortez said to applause.

“That is what it – it is multiracial, multigendered, multigenerational, and multigeographic,” she said, failing to elaborate on what that specifically looks like.

“We have to come together, not ignoring our differences but listening to them, prioritizing them, understanding injustice,” she continued.

The socialist lawmaker also implied that rampant racism is still alive and well in the U.S., telling the crowd that it is essential to understand “that we operate in a context where slavery evolved into Jim Crow, evolved into mass incarceration, [and] evolved into the realities we have today.”
