    • No, that will come AFTER a global government.

  • Premillennialists give much attention to the doctrine of the “rapture” which states that when Christ returns, all of the elect who have died will be raised and transformed into a glorious state, along with the living elect, and then be caught up to be with Christ according to their interpretation of 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17. They also hold, as do virtually all Christians (except certain postmillennialists), that the Second Coming will be preceded by a time of great persecution (the tribulation) of God’s people (2 Thess. 2:1–4). Until the 19th century, all Christians agreed that the rapture, though it was not called that at the time, would occur immediately before the Second Coming, at the end of the persecution. This is the “post-tribulational” view.

But in the 1800s, some began to claim that the rapture would occur before the period of persecution (the “pre-tribulational” view). This was embraced by John Nelson Darby, an early Fundamentalist leader and then was then picked up by C. I. Scofield, who taught it in the footnotes of his Scofield Reference Bible. Many Protestants, who read this bible, uncritically adopted the pre-tribulational view, even though no Christian had heard of it in the previous 1800 years of Church history.

Eventually, a third and fourth position developed, one, known as the “mid-tribulational” view, claiming that the rapture comes during the middle of the tribulation and one that claims that there will not be a single rapture, but rather, a series of mini-raptures occuring at different times during the tribulation.

The problem with all of these positions (except the historic, post-tribulational view) is that they split the Second Coming into different events, with Christ coming three times. This three-comings view is foreign to Scripture. This is the danger of self-interpertation of scripture.

  • During the Great Tribulation which will last for 7 years, Satan will enable his chosen world leader to set up a one-world government where all must worship him. In order to buy or sell anything, all will be required to take the "Mark of the Beast" on either their right hand or forehead. The good news is that at the end of those 7 years, Jesus will come back to earth to judge the sheep and the goats and then set up HIS Millennial Kingdon (1,000-year reign of Christ on earth). Even more good news: Before the Great 7-year Tribulation, all believers in Jesus will be raptured into heaven to be forever with Jesus and will not suffer the terrible hardships that others will be forced to endure during the Great Tribulation. For true Christians, exciting times are ahead!!!

  • I'm more interested in knowing what the response to this question has been from the general public that flows through this institution. Are they buying the false premise that mankind "naturally" wants (and will "evolve" to) a one-world government or are they balking at the question and offering freedom and liberty based objections to it. BTW Having been to both the Smithsonian and the Air Force museum in Dayton, OH, I found that what the Smithsonian had to offer in the aerospace displays was disappointing when compared to the Air Force museum. I wonder how many other areas in their displayed collection fall short of what other exhibit centers, outside of Washington DC, have to offer?

  • The Smithsonian has been going down a leftist hill for a long time, like the public channels.....the government needs to stop funding them and see how well their leftism serves them when they operate on donations only!

  • Never shal Americans give in to a One World Government. God forbid this even getting close to reality.

  • Try bullshit
